A friend of mine will give me some parts he no longer uses for real cheap, and I want to make the most out of them. Here's the list. (Attaching screenshot below if you don't wanna click) What build would you guys do to make this as bang for your buck as possible? Not maxing out, bang for your buck Details: Resolution/FPS Target: 60 fps on most modern AAA games at high/ultra 1080p $500-$600 budget Monitor, mouse and keyboard not to be considered in the build I do Graphic Design work on the side, so a punchy processor would be great Thanks in advance!

So I know $50 isn't much for a gpu, but I want to go used and get the best bang for buck. I bought a few crazy cheap desktops they all have a 250gb hdd, 8gb ddr3 550 watt seasonic psu and phenom ii x6 1045t's. I know its obsolete but hey for 30$ a system why not turn my living room into a lan gaming center for my family. anyway they have onboard graphics as of now. my goal is e sports titles low end gaming and old triple a games at 1080p ideally 60 fps. any ideas guys??? also id need to buy 3 video cards so as many suggestions as possible. I was thinking 650ti's hd 7850's r9 270's etc (sorry for any punctuation errors/ spelling errors)

Budget (including currency): $1,000 (USD) Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming (1080 Max or Mid 1440), Image Editing / Digital Art, 3D Modeling (Autodesk Suite) Other details: I am looking to finally build a gaming rig (mid-grade) to expand my gaming library. I have been limping along with my Lenovo Y510P ideapad (4th Gen Core i7-4700MQ + Geforce GTX 755M) since I was a senior in Highschool when it was released (2013). I used it all throughout college to 3D model and game lightly when I could. Currently I can get by playing a few games at very low spec (Fortnite, Minecraft, League of Legends, ect) but none of them are very high demand games. I have wanted to upgrade for awhile and with COD Warzone and Valorant Beta out and the FFVII remake on its way (hopefully) I feel like this is a great time for me personally. The laptop can barley run Fortnite and I need more power if I want to expand my library. I have put together a baseline parts list but wanted to get suggestions on edits if anyone with more experience has any insight. I have tried to do my research as best I can but I fear that I am about to spend a grand and get the wrong part or things that don't cooperate. All said and done I want this to be under $1,000 if possible. I figure that is $900 for parts and then another $100 for tax and shipping. I also have plans to get a 2TB Seagate Barracuda once I get to using the system for awhile to expand the storage, as well as 2 fans to put in the front of the case if it is really getting hot in there. It seems like with the 2 included exhaust fans should be able to have enough cooling but I am aware that I may have to bump up later, which may end up being a rad mounted in the front of the case. I guess what I am looking for most is Graphics card validation. I am aware of the AMD issue with their graphics cards so that's why I went Nvidia. If all the AMD issues have been resolved I believe there is comparable cards to the RTX 2060 for $100 less on the AMD side which would be great for me to keep cost down. But it also seems like the Nvidia support is more robust than the AMD support, thoughts? If all the AMD issues have been resolved is there a recommended card comparable to the RTX 2060 that you would recommend? Hey, I'm a student who is soon going to move out for university and since I can't bring my main computer with me I decided to build another one. I don't have that much money to spend, and so far I have been able to pick these components: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming-3 GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 (3GB GDDR5) RAM: Just a basic set of dual-channel 2x4GB sticks. I already have a spare HDD at home so I don't have to worry about buying that too. I'm having some troubles picking my PSU and case, mostly because I'm not particularly sure what my options are for something that is relatively cheap but still offers good quality. The components that I have listed are going to cost me approximately ~650€ (~760$ at the time of writing this) and I definitely wanted to keep the overall cost lower than ~800€ (~940$). Do you guys have any recommendations on which PSU/Case I should get? Also, is there a way for me to swap some of the components that I have listed with others that cost less but would still give me overall similar quality/performances? Thanks in advance.

I can't find the picture I took of my computer when I first built it over two years ago, so you're just going to have to take my word for both the initial build and first upgrade to my computer; however, I'll still be sharing my experiences with the initial build and first upgrade below, where I've also linked the parts lists and posted the most recent pictures of my rig. 2017 Christmas Build Honestly, other than the hassle that was attaching the front panel IO connectors to the motherboard, and attaching my PSU to the case before plugging in the Molex connectors, it was a pretty straightforward build. This was my first build, and it took me about two hours to complete whilst being conscious of cable management and overall aesthetics. In my opinion, the most interesting aspect of the build was that I was able to get my 1300x to stably run at 4GHz on the stock cooler. At the time, I didn't bother fidgeting with the GPU clock speeds or ram timings/frequency, mostly because the computer worked well enough as it was, but also because I just didn't understand how it worked in the first place. 2017 Christmas Build: Upgrade v.1 By this time, I had the computer for a little over a year and a half, and I had some upgrades I wanted to make to increase performance on a budget. * Firstly, I wanted to see how much more performance I could get out of my CPU, so I tossed the stock cooler and opted for the more appropriate ARCTIC Freezer 34 eSports DUO to help me reach 4.2GHz on my 1300x. * Secondly, the only air intake fan was the one that came with my case, so I bought a 5-pack of ARCTIC 120mm case fans. This allowed me to have one intake fan on the back and two on the top, and three fans expelling air towards the front of my case - all connected through my Silverstone fan hub. * Thirdly, I wanted to tackle the problem that was dust build up. In a year and a half, I took my computer completely apart - GPU shroud and all - three times to remove dust, so I added dust filters to the intake fans. This very drastically reduced the amount of cleaning necessary to maintain both my computer's cleanliness and thermals - maybe it's all the dogs my family has owned over the years, but my house is abnormally dusty. * Lastly, I switched from Protronix Series 7 Thermal Paste, to the graphite thermal pad I'd seen Linus make a video about. I didn't record my temps before and after to compare, and I wish I would've, but I'm sure it had a slight impact on my thermals nonetheless. Overall, I'd say for how cheap the upgrades were, these choices are probably your best bet for squeezing out some more performance on your current hardware, both without opting for new hardware altogether or drastically modding your hardware (i.e. IHS deliding, IHS Lapping, liquid metal application, etc.). After the upgrades, whose purpose in the end was mostly to affect thermals, I decided to try and wrap my head around how to successfully overclock my RAM. I was able to mess around with the frequency and get it to 2666MHz, (testing stability with Prime95), but I just don't understand how much I'm supposed to adjust the timings, or really what the timings affect in the first place. I also gave overclocking my GPU a shot, and initially I had some issues, but in the end I was able to successfully overclock my GPU's core clock to 1878MHz from 1746MHz, and the memory clock to 8808MHz from 8008MHz. The OC is stable, idling at 26 degrees Celsius, and 66 degrees Celsius under load (Fur Mark). 2017 Christmas Build: Upgrade v.2 For the most recent upgrade to my computer, I swapped the Ryzen 3 1300x for a Ryzen 5 1600. The CPU was given to me by a friend who was selling his computer parts at the time - he didn't feel like going through the hassle of selling it, and knew I was about ready to need a new CPU anyways. I'm using the same cooler as I was for the 1300x after my computer's first upgrade, and it's still working great - I'm able to run 4 GHz stable at 1.2375V. The upgrade from 4c/4t to 6c/12t is a sizable one and I feel like the 1300x was slightly bottle-necking my GTX 1060 6GB. In addition to the upgraded CPU, I added another 8 GB's of 2400Mhz RAM to my computer to total 16 GB's, which I ended up overclocking to 2666MHz. In the near future, I'll probably give adjusting my timings another shot, and possibly try and push my RAM to 2933MHz as well, but we'll see how it goes.
