There's been some AirDrop on Twitter for a few days now, it has 2.7M posts. This is a crypto related AirDrop. Who knows anything about it? Isn't this a scam? Because some crypto projects are a scam. I would like a detailed explanation if possible.

TLDR: A large scale fraud/scam operation is going on on Youtube right now. It is based around Microsoft and Bill Gates and the recent news about Bill Gates and Blockchain. You get scammed in BTC. Please help get this to Youtube's attention by reporting the livestreams (if you want to) or by contacting them if you "know people". Even worse, some poor guy's channels are compromised to feed that large scale scam/fraud. Hello everyone. In short, I fall for a scam two days ago. I don't want to wine about it. What is done is done. What I want now is to prevent anyone else to get hurt. What is going on ? If you head to youtube.com and search for "Bill Gates", you will notice every day that new "Microsoft US/News/Company/..." channels pop up and starts a livestream probably feeded by a botnet. The one I fell for had 12K viewers and the channel was convincingly named "Microsoft Company". If you think it is obvious, yes it is absolutely. Until one day you are tired and fall for it out of inattention. What is the scam ? The livestream streams old videos featuring Bill Gates. Nothing interesting there. The scam is that the fake Microsoft channel claims that Bill Gates or Microsoft is hosting a BTC giveaway for the crypto community. Of course, you see it coming, you don't receive any BTC by inputting your public key (like a normal giveaway), but you have to send some amount to get it 2x ed back. Of course you will never get it back. Why am I putting it here ? You may think that no one would fall for something so obvious. I've been the one thinking that of other scams for years. Until one day you are tired, quarantined at home for days, not paying attention and you fall for one (yes I'm repeating it so people never let their guard down). Why is this scam so bad ? We are miles away from your average "Nigerian prince" scam. Here we are talking about hijacking people's Youtube Channels, doing identity theft of Bill Gates and Microsoft, using a Botnet to boost the viewers count so that it can get to the home page of the "live" tab of Youtube. This is an insanely elaborate scam and it is going on for a few days (at least). The scam is also conveniently timed with the recent news about Bill Gates and Blockchain. So the fact that Bill Gates would "give you free money" is not that crazy (in a way). Why is this scam even worse than what you are thinking right now? The people behind the scam are actually hijacking some poor people's channels to feature the scam livestream. They rename the channel and benefit for its previous audience to get recommended to people's feed of videos. I actually saw the 12K livestream on my home page, which Is INSANE, when you think about it. I'm putting some printscreens as proof attached. Especially to prove my claim that the stream can get to the front page of the "live" tab of Youtube, which is really really bad. If I save at least one person from this community to fall for this scam, it consider this was worth it to annoy you guys with this. Sorry for that !

https://www.theverge.com/2017/7/29/16060344/btce-bitcoin-exchange-takedown-mt-gox-theft-law-enforcement http://fortune.com/2017/07/27/btc-e-digital-currency/ Interesting, just a few days ago the Feds took down and seized BTC-e. It seems there's evidence that the theft of BTC from MT. Gox in 2014 is linked to BTC-e founder. 530,000 stolen bitcoins from Mt. Gox personally passed through BTC-e founder's wallet. There's other charges, such as money laundering stemming from this. Personally, I think this is real bad. and on top of that, it wasn't just stolen BTC from Mt. Gox, but rather: "WizSec also claims that the wallets that laundered Mt. Gox coins also handled “coins stolen from Bitcoinica, Bitfloor and several other thefts from back in 2011 and 2012.”" Thoughts and comments?

Source: http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=882#overview Lesser known motherboard manufacturer Biostar just released a new AMD AM4 based motherboard specifically for gpu mining able to support AMD and Nvidia cards mining at the same time. Featuring just 2 DDR4 dimms, 6 PCIe slots and 2x additional 12V 4pin power headers to help power your 6 cards. Seems a bit odd as they promote it on social media with the phrase "Time is money to make your ROI the most efficient" but chose to base this on Ryzen, which has no CPU in a price bracket near the Celerons, Pentiums and i3s used by most mining rigs. The cheapest Ryzen CPU, the R5 1400 comes in at $169.99, almost 3x the price of the Pentium G4400 at $59.99. No information on pricing or availability just yet for the motherboard but hopefully soon before the craze starts fading for their sake.

So i just paid out some ethereum to my ether wallet so that i could buy some steam games but i overlooked a detail. steam only takes bitcoin. so i tried to transfer the eth to btc using changelly.com but i got stuck on the sending screen and my bitcoin never actually received anything. so i thought i would transfer from my ether wallet to coinbase where i could change the eth to btc but neither sights like their other addresses. ultimately i am just trying to turn 0.049 eth to btc so i can buy stuff. how can i go about that.

btc My BTC experiance and first purchase
XeonShaun posted a topic in Folding@home, Boinc, and Coin Mining
HOW I GOT BITCOIN EDIT Cloudminer.BIZ IS A SCAM some free accounts get a pay out some never they aim to get you to invest 0.005BTC and they will pay you unill around 0.003BTC - 0.0034BTC after this you will get no more payouts. After realising it wasn't a scam I decided to go from 10 Satoshi/min to 110 Satoshi/min by investing 0.005 BTC (Satoshi is basically BTC to 8 Decimal places). USING BITCOIN After A few days, I had enough BTC to buy a pc case I spotted on Scan (Here is the case) but at the checkout I found out they use BIt Pay , So here we go let's make a Bit Pay Account and transfer the BTC because although coinbase and bit pay can be linked it doesn't exactly work so you need to send to your bit pay wallet and incur 0.0004BTC fees. After replacing what was lost in fees by buying BTC from coinbase again cant be done directly to BIt Pay wallet due to coinbase intergration not working as it should, I just scanned the QR code at checkout and paid another 0.0005 in fees but the order is compleat. Why Invest or Use Now The reason I have done this now is due to the spike to 15KGBP allot or miners and investors pulled out there BTC for their country's currency dropping bitcoins demand and price to 7KGBP so its a good spot to get now as the value is slowly going back up. Pros Low Starting Cost Daily increasing value Cons Fees can be up to 60% of your overall transaction Market volatility Complexity to use Multiple accounts for one goal Bit Pays decision to not allow you to use your own wallet anymore (use to show direct Address and note for transactions now uses Bit Pay only QR and URL) Summary Although it's complicated there is a chance to make your money work for you and It will work as long and your willing to squeeze through hoops. purchases lower than £95, 110Euro and $140USD are just not worth it due to fees to do wallet to wallet to purchase.- 3 replies

i5 4460 @800mhz (almost half the power consumption) 8GB D3 VS 550 PSU GTX 1060 3GB Gaming X "Samsung" +100 core +750 mem 60-70% power 66°c temp limit Power consumption below 90w (currently 89w) Using NiceHash nist5 - 23~ mh/s neoscrypt - 600h/ From Malaysia. Is it worth mining on single GPU? I don't know how to calculate my estimated bills, I mine about 16 hours everyday and just started 1 day ago. I just don't want to pay too much for bills.

So I'm designing a build for my friend who doesn't really have a budget but has no idea what to get. To prevent him falling into the trap of a manufacturer ripping him off, I;m designing a build. But I want to know. Using this, can a GPU run off 0.25 of a PCIE lane?

Let's say I want to mine Ethereum or Bitcoins, is there a way to "convert" the coins I mine to real cash so I can buy stuff? Or it doesn't works that way? I don't have a credit card or a bank account.

So the site im buying from is fantastic, and easy to use, but doesn't support selling Ethereum in Canada. But i can export to a wallet. Which site would you guys recommend selling Ethereum on. I have an account at CEX.io which works, but the export to bank account has a $50 fee.

I noticed that now when buying games or adding cash you now have a options to use Bitcoin. A post a little while back stated that Valve was getting ready to add support for BTC, but now it is available. So now they can take your fake money for the up coming steam summer sale. They use Bitpay for the transaction.

Hello, I am currently in the waves coffee in Vancouver with the bitcoin atm. I have sent it 660$ CAD worth of btc ~1.08 BTC and I don't know what to do. On the machine it says I must wait till I have 2 conformations, but I don't know when to do that. It has been 10 minutes. I have included a picture of my multi bit. Please tell me what to do. Can I try to use the paper receipt to withdraw the money before I can tell? I can't seem to see how many confirmations there are. Thanks so much for your help. The receipt also tells me I must send it in 120 minutes. I am afraid it might be in limbo if it doesn't get confirmed fast enough Also it has been at 35 peers and hasn't changed for a while.

Hey, I recently cashed out of opskins and because of the way their site works, (I had 65$) I cashed out 50$, then 10$, then 5$ all in the same ~1min range. I used the same wallet address for each. They then paid me a few days later (yesterday) and when I logged onto my wallet. It is empty. Please help me, I'm very scared. I don't want to loose 65$ in btc. I attached pictures of my wallet and what it looks like on their site. Thanks in advance! To sum up: I cashed out at the same time a 5$, 10$ and 50$, all using the same btc address. A few days later they marked it as paid, and my wallet doesn't show any transaction.→I Don't know what to do, and I am scared of losing the 65$.

I was looking for some information on the "new bitcoin" aka BitcoinXT. Will it still run on the SHA-256 Algorithm? Will it be any more profitable than normal bitcoin? Will places that accept Bitcoin accept BitcoinXT? Thank you for taking the time to read this, and your answer if you left one.

A quick search for a way to trade Bitcoins into cash IRL and vice versa (aka an ATM) led me to a few interesting results: Robocoin ($20,000 still on pre-order) Lamassu ($5,000 still on pre-order [until at least 2014]) Cash2BTC ($420, already released [since summer 2013]) These were the 3 companies that came up, and seeing the enormous difference in pricing, I decided to make a chart to decide which product is the best: *The Cash2BTC can be bought in a DIY package, so the size will vary depending on how you assemble it (assuming, of course, you purchased the DIY). The reason I've decided to compare these 3 ATMs is simply because I've heard of the RoboCoin, but, like you, completely ignored it because of the 20k price tag. So what do you think; will Bitcoin become a viable and widely-accepted currency to use IRL? (I don't know about you, but it would be pretty hilarious to tip waiters in BitCoin!) If Bitcoin were to become widely-accepted, it would mean not having to convert currencies when traveling internationally- just pay with Bitcoin!

A recent article I'd like to share in regards to Canada's direction of Bitcoin adoption, use, and regulatory stance. This may lead to Canada being home to more Bitcoin startups than our neighbors to the South. Post at /. ... This doesn't bode well. Hopefully they can get these bugs fixed ASAP and get everything back up to normal. I'm still mining away personally, as I expect this to go away once the bugs are indeed fixed. It's sad that DDoS' are being abused so much these days. I'm hoping someone comes up with a way to fix it soon. I know, I know. It probably can't be fixed because of it's nature, or the required investment needed to fix it, but still. I can hope. Maybe I should move to a different exchange. The big ones seem to be more dangerous now even though they are more established. Or sell my coin on Ebay. That's an option. What do my fellow miners think?
