  1. Hi everyone, I recently purchased a Ryzen 7 5800x to pair with my RX 6750XT. After installation of the cpu, I ran into bsod issues and eventually it just turned into the pc crashing and rebooting on its own. It seems to do this under some sort of heavy load, such as gaming and so on. Previously I had a 5600x, and never once encountered any errors whatsoever. Checking the bsod cause came down to a ntoskrnl wrong symbols error. After doing some further research, I figured this was a memory issue and pulled out my RAM stick in slot B2. After doing so, the PC hasn’t crashed at all. I then put the stick back in and ran some tests using the windows memory diagnostics tool and found no errors, I also decided to use MemTest86 and after 4 and a half hours also found no errors. I checked the temps before crashes using HWiNFO64 and they were fine, the cpu hit a max of 72 Celsius but when the crash occurred it was 64 Celsius. I can’t seem to figure out a fix, I’ve tried multiple solutions and none have worked except using one memory stick, however I don’t want to sacrifice a memory stick just to have this working. I’d appreciate any sort of help. Other solutions I’ve tried are listed below, thanks —Specs— MSI B550M Gaming Plus Ryzen 7 5800x Asus Dual RX 6750XT x2 TridentZ RGB 16gb 3600Mhz Using the MasterLiquid ML240 for the CPU Running windows 11 on Samsung evo plus —Solutions Tried— Cleared CMOS Updated BIOS Drivers Fresh install of GPU drivers Updated Chipset drivers Updated windows Turned off all OC settings for CPU and RAM Restored default settings in bios Reset windows Used sfc scan and dsim commands Checked for any installation errors on the cpu Used MemTest86 Used windows memory diagnostics Checked temps before crash Reseated the cpu, ensuring there is enough thermal paste and non on the pins
  2. Hi all, Edit: the issue seems to be more fundamental. I can get into BIOS, and I opened hardware monitor to look at my CPU temps and after being there for a while I wanted to close it and my BIOS froze. Rest of the story provides context on how I got to this situation... I'm slightly panicking here. I had a good working setup with just Windows 11 (pro) installed (upgraded from Windows 10 pro) on my newly build machine (tech specs will follow). I installed Ubuntu as dual boot in a separate partition on the same SSD as my windows is located. It booted into MOK (I had secure boot set up) but I had issues with that so I passed it. It booted fine a couple of times when so I performed the necessary updates but after that it the problems started. I reboot into ubuntu and at the login screen it works fine, but trying to login in or open a different tty (ctrl+alt+f2 e.g.) it froze again (not getting into the desktop at all when logging in or not even reaching the tty). I tried rebooting into windows and I'm getting a different BSOD every time. Trying to boot into Windows recovery mode works, but when opening CMD I'm getting different BSODs as well. Couple I've had were: - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL in ntoskrnl.exe - MEMORY_MANAGEMENT when trying to run DISM in cmd in recovery And a couple more but didn't have time to take a picture because my pc rebooted immediately. I tried swapping the boot order back hoping that was the cause, but then my BIOS froze... I don't understand how to get the dump files in this situation since booting from my Windows 10 install USB is freezing as well on the windows logo. My BIOS is on E7E26AMS.150 (just the version with which it shipped) and I see on the MSI page that there is a BIOS update available. But honestly, with my BIOS freezing I'm really afraid to start flashing a new version on it... what If it happens during the update? OS - Windows 11 + Ubuntu 22.04 dual boot x86 (32-bit) (i think I'm sorry I'm not sure) What OS was originaly installed on the system? Windows 11 pro retail Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from a retailer)? purchased from retailer Age of system (hardware) less than a month Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? less than a month CPU model AMD Ryzen 5 7600X Boxed Video Card model ASRock AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming 20GB OC MotherBoard - (if NOT a laptop) B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI (MS-7E26) Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this) Seasonic Focus GX-750 System Manufacturer what? Laptop or Desktop? Desktop Is there anyone able to help me? Things I tried: tried going into Ubuntu advanced, pick the older version in recovery but after browsing in the settings for a while it crashes and spews out this enormous log (see attached picture). tried booting into my Ubuntu boot USB but that freezes at boot logo tried booting into my Windows 10 pro USB but that freezes at boot logo
  3. So I've been getting the classic Hypervisor BSOD and tried everything I can to circumvent it from happening. This includes running DDU, activating the [Hypervisor] service and reinstalling the service, updating BIOS to latest also chipset. Virtualization is on. Crashed both without oc and oc PC. I haven't turned off tpm in BIOS and some people are telling me to do so but I'd rather have that encryption on. Anyone have any clue what's causing this or a way to troubleshoot it? I'd post dmp files from Windbg but they're inconclusive and don't say what is causing the issue just that the system is crashing (lol). Event viewer isn't logging anything on this either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.
  4. I've just built my first PC about a month ago. The building process went perfectly to my delight (thank you Linus PC Building POV) however I've had some performance issues since. The only things brought from my previous build are my EVGA 750 GQ 80+ Gold and my 3060 ti. Everything else is completely brand new. Things were working great, except I would get some small stutter in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 where it'd stutter for a second and drop 1 fps to 59. I wanted to fix that and tried a youtube videos suggestion of increasing page file system to be the same amount as my RAM and using msconfig to set my CPU Cores. Doing this made everything worse. Tony Hawk was constantly stuttering to unplayable amounts. So I set those settings back to defaults, everything was still messed up. Tried system restore, it was successful (initially) but Chrome wouldn't open, so I restarted the PC and immediately started boot looping to BSOD Critical Process Died. Couldn't repair or load into safe mode. So I reinstalled windows. I was back up and running, but now all of my games and benchmarks intermittently stutter, BAD. Yesterday everything worked perfectly (HZD Benchmark and playtest, perfect. Shadow of Tomb Raider Benchmark, perfect. Tony Hawk, a few small stutters, but smooth 60 fps otherwise.) Today, every single thing stutters. Even Superposition has hitching. I've tried everything I can think of. My CPU temps never rise above 40 C gaming, my GPU usually sits around 64-74 max usage. Vids of hitching linked below. Please, any help is appreciate. (Crash Bandicoot is the smoothest, but you can see the FPS still waivers randomly.) I'm also on the latest Nvidia drivers. 5. Hello everyone, In January I made a post on here about my PC getting loads of BSODs and I was able to fix it with the help of you all but after 2 months of not a single issue, I got a Windows update and now my PC is getting blue screens again. System serive exception almost always, and Irql not less or equal once are the error messages I've got. Previously I was able to fix my BSODs by turning off XMP and setting my Performance Core Ratio in Intel's XTU app to 55x because of an issue there is with the 14900k but now after this Windows update i'm getting them again. The time between each BSODs varies and it doesn't matter what i'm doing. Sometimes they happen in the same hour and sometimes there's a day without them. I could just be browsing the web or watching something, and they happen. Something else to note is that previously I crashed almost instantly when I entered any game, now games run fine. Just happens at random moments Also I tried the steps in the BSOD Posting instructions, the link there in method a didn't work so i looked it up and I think I got the correct thing. However I wasn't able to do the 'perfmon /report' step as it just stayed on 'Collecting data for 60 seconds' for more than 20 minutes. I've linked the zip file I got from the Sysnative program. After these BSODs all my lights in the pc go out of sync and I can't resync them, they just magically sync back together when they decide to. Also something maybe worth mentioning, like 3-4 times I got a 'CPU Fan speed error detected' when booting my pc, but when looking at the speed and graphs there seems to be no problem and everything is running normally. So I turned this warning off in the BIOS. Would really appreciate any help and thanks in advance! 6. Since October last year I've been encountering a spectacular amount of issues with my build. The primary error I encounter is Access Violation 0xc0000005 errors causing games like Rust to crash, amongst many others. I've also been experiencing BSOD's while running heavier workloads e.g. Lightroom exports, running Cinebench. I've also encountered... ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NO_EXECUTE_MEMORY SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_UNHANDLED IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL among others Running Cinebench (Multithread CPU) will BSOD my PC with ATTEMPTED_EXECUTE_OF_NO_EXECUTE_MEMORY I was having issues with Firefox tabs crashing too but that seems to have been resolved since RMA'ing my CPU. I was running the same hardware and BIOS for 9 months before these issues started happening, seemingly at random. My specs are: Windows 11 Pro (Current build) i9 14900K Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 Corsair Vengeance 128Gb DDR5 Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master (Latest BIOS) Samsung 990 Pro Samsung 980 Pro x 2 (Striped Volume) Corsair AX1600i PSU Troubleshooting I've tried: Updated graphics drivers (DDU clean install) Checked and updated all possible drivers Installed W11 C++ redistibrutables Updated Windows to latest version Changed power plan to "balanced" from "performance" Run driver verifier (many different errors so none to nail down) Run full security / malware check Adjusted page file size Memtest86 4-pass (No errors) Reseated each memory stick individually (Error with all tested individually) Updated BIOS Reset BIOS Made sure XMP / CPU OC / Undervolt were disabled (never had them on in the first place) Disabled multicore enhancement Checked for system overheat (within limits) CHKDSK All drives Clean re-install of Windows 11 on new SSD RMA'd and Upgraded CPU (13900k > 14900k) Physically inspected MOBO for defects SFC /scannow Disabled turbo boost via BIOS (This works but what's the point of an i9 without it) Undervolted CPU / Reduced max wattage Many different DISM command line commands Swapped cooler (Corsair 240mm to Arctic Cooler 360) I'm at my wit's end. I find it exceptionally unlikely to be a CPU issue having tried two different models, an issue with RAM as each one of my 4 sticks has been tested or an issue with my boot drive. I've probably missed adding some other troubleshooting steps here because I think I've tried basically everything on the internet. At this point I'm thinking it might be the MOBO or an inherent problem with Windows itself. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. 7. Hello! So i recently did a big upgrade on my rig. New GPU & PSU and then a month later i changed my cpu/mobo/ram. So basically the only thing that didn't change was my M.2 SSD. I consider myself pretty good with computer(except the Bios we have nowadays with a thousand options) but i've never struggled that much after a new set-up. I will list all my PC components down below. When i first launched the upgraded rig nothing worked so i've changed the bios boot option to CSM and then that did the trick. Then after a day i started having a new problem when using all four sticks of ram (64GB total). when i would boot my system i was stuck in a BSOD loop that would attempt to fix itself, then reboot over and over again. So after checking online i went in the bios and enabled Memory Context Restore & enabled Power Down under DRAM menu instead of leaving it in AUTO. And that did the trick, the system would finally boot! Then i did the classic ''sfc /scannow'' & ''DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth'' to fix the remaining minor issues. So now after all that i have yet another problem. Yesterday while simply watching youtube videos i got two BSOD. One at midnight and one at 3 am. Both the same error. After the second one happened i tried the SFC & DISM tricks and then it didn't happen again. But today i decided to play Cyberpunk and during the very first loading screen i had yet again another BSOD with the same exact errors as yesterday. I took some screenshots. I have no idea what to do now. I finally have my dream rig and yet i can't even enjoy it or do the most basic things with it. Please help me, i don't know what to do anymore besides re-installing windows and i don't feel like going through that trouble in case the issue ends up persisting. Thank you! Here's my rig : CPU : AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor 4.70 GHz MOBO : MSI MPG B650 Carbon WIFI ATX AM5 RAM : (4 x 16GB, so 64GB total) G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) Desktop Memory Model F5-6000J3636F16GX2-TZ5RK GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Storage : Crucial P1 1TB M.2 & Teamgroup T-Force Vulcan Z 1TB PSU : Corsair RM1000x OS : Windows 10 home
  8. I think it is best summed up by the support request I sent to ZOTAC: I sent this and got an automated response telling me a ZOTAC representative would get in contact within 24-72 hours. It's been 2 weeks so idk what to do at this point. An update on the "when connecting the display to the motherboard output all issues cease and the PC is perfectly stable" - this is also no longer the case. Doing that made the PC stable enough to get into Windows but as soon as I open a game or game engine the display freezes and it will BSOD if I wait for the DPC watchdog to time out. Got the BSOD information by launching CS2, leaving the main menu running for about a minute. Game froze, closed the game, then after about 90 seconds or however long it takes the DPC watchdog I got the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION BSOD (with heavy graphical artifacts). Zip attached, PC spec: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/b/WpBcCJ, OS is OEM x64 Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045 Build 19045, NVIDIA driver is 537.42 (latest as of 30/09/2023). Couldn't get perfmon /report to finish collecting for some reason. Anything for me to try or does anyone have recommendations for how to get ZOTAC or the seller to replace this brick? 9. I replaced the motherboard, cpu and memory recently as I upgraded, but I've been having all sorts of issues at complete random and I have no idea what the culprit is. To start, sometimes the pc boots with zero issues. No freezing, no bsod, no nothing. But then randomly, it'll do this (images attached). It freezes on booting, it'll glitch the bios completely out. And the bios will freeze up, and the pc with put out an A9 error on the board. I'll also hear the 1 long beep and 3 short beeps (at least i think that's what it is unless it's the gpu fans being squeaky? Sounds like its coming from the gpu.) But I just replaced the memory and it's the same issue on both kits, so it can't be that. I also have integrated graphics so is it possible the dedicated gpu would cause a freeze even with Integrated graphics? I have seen a few nvlddmkm errors in windows while playing games, so maybe it could be a gpu issue? I just bought a new motherboard, memory, and cpu so those are returnable if they are the issue. I think it could be the gpu but I don't know with the bios being wacky. I do have the latest bios version and drivers as well. I honestly have no idea anymore so if anyone has any ideas that would be helpful. 10. Overview Wanted to swap out my RTX 3070 for an RTX 4070 TI Super. Worked for ~40 minutes then crashed and is not working now. Specs MB: Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 (newest Bios version) CPU: Intel 12700K GPU: Gigabyte Gaming OC 8GB RTX 3070 new GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER JetStream OC Ram: 2x16GB Kingston Fury 3600MHz DDR4 Storage: 2x Samsung 970 EVO PCIE gen 3 M.2 SSD, 1x 6TB HDD OSD: Win11 Pro 23H2 PC is from Late 2022 (selfbuilt) What I did/What happened Downloaded RTX 4070 TI Super drivers Removed Nvidia Drivers with DDU, used the shutdown option Swapped GPU Rebooted, installed the downloaded drivers along with Geforce Experience - So far everything normal Checked basic stuff (HwInfo, ran a Cyberpunk Benchmark, small Blender Render), nothing unusual, performance as expected Played "World of Warships" After ~20 Minutes game crashes, "terminal error", PC freezes, mouse and keyboard don't work for ~30s Eventually keyboard works, shut down system. After restart constant glitches/artifacts (see video and pictures), blackscreens, and even a BSOD. IO (specifically mouse and kb) sometimes work, sometimes don't What fixes I have tried: Tried with IGPU, no issues Reinstalled old GPU, no issues Reinstalled new GPU, checked PCIE slot on MB and on GPU for any damage (none found), same result Sanity check: Did I download the correct drivers (I did) Other notable things Overall my system has been very stable in the last year, never had a bluescreen or crash. On occasion, I noticed small graphical Glitches, specifically when watching YouTube. These glitches are what kind of make me worry that the problem is somewhere on my side, otherwise I would just say "bad part" and that's it. Attachments Error/Crash Logdump as described in the BSOD help post(couldn't attach the perflog as it didn't stop after 60s (?) and just kept going). Images showing artifacts as well as the BSOD (It's hard to read but it's a Kernel Security Check Failure) Video showing Blackscreens The system isn't Bootcycling or anything, I get to Windows normally and that's where the problems begin. 11. Hey guys, I'm asking help in a final attemp, I'm THIS CLOSE to just build a new computer. I'm getting random return to desktop when gaming or BSODs (also when watching video files). My PC is: I have every driver up to date, I tried a clean Windows reinstall, I ran memtest (found a few errors, so I switched my 16 GB of RAM to the new 32 GBs, ran memtest again and it runs fine). You can see my minidumps here (also attached): Minidumps.zip I have used this PC to mine crypto a few years ago when it was worth it, in winter, so I doubt it would have damaged the GPU? Could it be the PSU? At this stage I have completely no clue what it could be and kind of annoyed since I just lost a 20 hours game files that got corrupted with the BSOD. I'm just not very far from building a new machine, this time with Intel since I know it may be more stable. I always had stability issues with this system... Thanks so much for your help if you can avoid spending 1500$+ if we can identify what can be the cause. Cheers! Minidumps.zip
  12. I just built a new rig and I had huge issues with the software. I got constant BSODs. All of my games crashed after a few minutes of gameplay (task manager reported GPU 3D usage spiked to 100% and the driver would crash). and windows just completely refused to install itself when I tried to do a clean install. I finally did the simplest solution and pulled out one of the RAM sticks and, what do you know, everything works great. Its snappy, stable, and running great (so far). My question is... why? Here are my specs: ASUS Tuf X570-PLUS WiFi 2x16GB sticks of Corsair Vengance 3600mhz RAM, Ryzen 7 5800X3D ROG STRIX 3080 10GB OC II 850W Corsair 80+Gold Samsung 970 EVO 500GB NVMe (for windows installation only) Several secondary drives ive collected and moved over for misc storage. I followed the MOBO instructions and placed the ram in the preferred A2 + B2 configuration. I reset the MOBO CMOS and loaded the optimal defaults. I also flashed the BIOS to the April 2022 version (4402 I believe) At this point, as long as my PC is working, im not going to complain, but I would much rather prefer to use all of the parts I bought. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I noticed that someone else had the exact same issue with their X570-Plus WiFi MOBO, but they were using different RAM. Thank you everyone in advance.
  13. Hey guys, After 2 weeks of tinkering with my new build I'm officially out of ideas how to fix my issue and I need some help. Said issue - whenever I choose any of the default OC options in BIOS (DOCP I, DOCP II or DOCP Tweaked) I get a blue screen either before Windows login screen or directly after logging in. Sometimes it works for about 5 minutes and then it BSOD's. PC is stable only when Auto is selected which limits RAMs speed to 3600MHz. CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D MOBO: Asus Crosshair X670E Hero (latest BIOS 1904) RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x16GB (SKU: CMT64GX5M4B5600C36) That RAM is on the QVL list. Otherwise system is perfectly stable - no overheating, no other issues. MCR works perfectly, PBO as well and the system loads in about 20 seconds or less I think. I've already tried clearing CMOS more than a few times, flashed BIOS 3 times, did clean Windows reinstall more than 10 times. Had to do all that, because there were times when the PC was at the verge of bricking itself from all the BSOD's. Like I said I'm out of ideas - should I just overclock manually? Can someone tell me how to do that if so? Or are there other ways of fixing this? Bunch of side notes: 1. I tried changing just the memory frequency in BIOS to 5200 and 5600 leaving everything else on auto, seemed more stable, but I don't know if that's safe. I think it only crashed once with that or maybe not even at all. 2. One time I got stuck in a Blue Screen Death Loop - basically couldn't get into BIOS (not responsive) and PC crashed immidiately before Windows login screen. And it just kept doing that over and over until I turned it off and cleared CMOS. 3. Don't ask me what BSOD screen says in terms of an error info - it's a whole catalogue and it's different everytime. I've got at least ~10 different causes. 4. Corsair iCue tends to not see RAM quite frequently (RGBs not syncing and not showing, etc.) even when it's not OC'ed. It works fine for a few days and then either stops completely or sees 1 or 2 sticks. I haven't figured out if it's caused by RAM itself or just iCue acting up.
  14. I get 5 BSODs in 3 days. All of them are DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE and IMAGE_NAME: storahci.sys. I tried two differend chipset drivers and ssd utility but couldn't fix. 15. Installing Win11 causing BSOD I've had problems with Win11 causing Bsod for a few days now and I was unable to fix it. So I tried to reinstall windows. I deleted the old partitons and formated the SSD. I downloaded the latest ISO from Microsoft and used Rufus to mount it to my USB. After going through the first restart I get a bsod saying "system thread exception not handled". If it helps, I also had the following bsod stopcodes before I tried to reinstall windows: “Kernel Security Check Failure” "system thread exception not handled" "System service exception" "Kmode exception not handled " "Attempted execute of noexecute memory" "Registry error" I've tried redoing the whole process of putting the ISO on my USB, with different USBs. I have also tested one of my Ram sticks using Memtest86 in my Bios, and it had 0 errors. Trying to install windows with only that stick still causes bsod. I also tried removing my GPU (using my CPU for graphics) and only using the Ram stick that is without error, I was able to boot into the windows welcome screen. But when I tried reinstalling windows with that setup I still got the same bsod loop as before: "system thread exception not handled" I really have no idea what to do at this point, pls help. My parts are: 4x 16gb ddr5 7200mhz Trident Z5 TZ5RS (set to automatic speed in Bios, tested with both xmp off and on) ASUS ROG Maximus Z790 Hero MB TUF Gaming GeForce RTX™ 3090 OC Edition GPU I9 14900K CPU I have tried resetting my CMOS to to avail.
  16. TLDR; Random crashing that I cant fix by any means of software, and cannot pinpoint possible bad component. I need help, because I have no clue what to try at this point. I recently upgraded my PC from a i7 9700k & 3080 (And other necessary components) to: CPU: i9 14900k (Mounted w/Thermal Grizzly contact frame. "Torqued" to exact spec) GPU: MSI 3080 Gaming Trio Mobo: MSI Z690 Force Wifi Memory: x2 32gb Gskill trident Z5 DDR5 6600 *I added another set of this same memory kit post build* PSU: 1600w EVGA SuperNova Storage: 2 M.2 SSDs (Samsung), 1 SATA SSD, and 2 HDDs (existing). *Boot on M.2 980 Pro* Cooling & Fans: Lian li galahad 2, x6 Corsair SP120s. Along with this upgrade I did a completely fresh windows install and upgraded to windows 11. When playing most games that aren't very low demand like Lethal Company, I experience random crashes at random points. These crashes range in errors but most frequent being ones from UE5/4 games (Alan Wake 2, The Finals, EA WRC, etc..) , the following are the descriptions from crash reports & event viewer. Along with an occasional BSOD, but never while playing a game, only when on desktop doing non-performance intensive processes. MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION LowLevelFatalError Aftermath GPU Crash dump Triggered DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED BSOD: Memory_Management Among some " GPU Memory exceeded " or similar in Overwatch 2 randomly. These crashes typically do not happen in graphic intensive sections or have any trigger, my temperatures are never excessively high. These are the things I have tried to far to no avail: DDU GPU Driver fix, multiple times. Updating Bios, chipset, and any manufacturer driver under that applies. SFC Scan, fixed once, after that always says no errors. Different graphics settings (Running in D3D12/11, vsync on/off, hardware acceleration on/off etc..) XMP Enabled/Disabled I do not overclock but ensured no overclocking through MSI Click bios Memtest86+ Received fails on 1st test, no change. Tested each stick by itself with multiple passes, no errors, then all 4 together again- no errors. I have a hunch that it could be the memory, because as stated before I initially bought x1 32gb Gskill trident Z5 kit, then bought another of the exact same kit. I do now know that this shouldn't be done and if I wanted 64gb it should be from the same kit- but doing Memtest86+ resulted in no errors. My next step will likely be Clean windows install, and seeing if that makes a difference. If not, then RMAing Ram, Motherboard, then CPU. If anyone has any suggestions or if you are having issues like this please drop your specs and what you have tried. Thanks.
  17. I was using my old laptop as a source for my tv when it randomly shut down, when tried restarting it went to the windows loading screen and just kept loading till the spinny icon disappeared then just stayed there with the windows logo, I shut it down and restarted, that time I got a boot OS selection menu(I have only windows) after which it showed the windows logo then BSOD with artifacts (pic attached) Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15r 5537 I7 4500u Radeon hd8670m 8gb ram 240gb ssd The GPU seemed to be already failing for a while cuz I would get artifacts in some games I had gotten bsod before(same error code) but it would just restart and be fine P.s. the white stripe on the left is cuz my screen is broken at that side
  18. I’m trying to change my ssd on my laptop right now and ive changed the ssd and have the recovery usb stick plugged in trying to recover. While its recovering i get this BSOD and it just restarts. My laptop is a asus zephyrus g14. Image of bios is also attached below IMG_0025.heic

I have not re-installed the OS CPU Model: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3D Video Card: EVGA Geforce RTX 3070 XC3 Ultra 8gb GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard Power supply: EVGA 650BP 650W 80+ bronze ATX power supply Desktop computer CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken 240 Liquid CPU cooler Case: Corsair 4000D Midtower Screen: LG 34WN650-W Ultrawide 34" 21:9 FHD RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL 16 Memory [Set to Profile 1 - DDDR4 3200 in bios] Storage: Kingston NV2 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD Link to reports: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1jcEFYTzL9p6upxa_68AidV-ewbmnKszw?usp=sharing Story (also posted on reddit): I just completed a new PC build and ended up swapping out the initial cpu (Ryzen 5 3600) I bought for a Ryzen 7 5800x3D and then upgraded the cooler to a NZXT 240. Before I made these changes. I had no issues over the course of the two days after I built the PC. No errors and everything was running smooth. I also followed the proper setup guides, driver installs, MSI motherboard bios latest update (Oct 2023), and getting ram to rated speed via bios. The blue screen of death showed up after going to AMD.com website with the autodetect software and trying to find the chipset drivers for it. I downloaded the amd adrenaline software and it recommended some drivers and then did the standard restart etc. No problems. I later learned there aren't any chipset drivers for this CPU after some research since my experience was different from when I had the previous Ryzen 3600 installed. I also want to add that I made sure I had the latest bios update which definitely supports my CPU. When upgrading to the new cpu and AIO, I never took out or messed with the rtx 3070. I kept it in place and as is. Motherboard also stayed in the case. (For those maybe wondering about my discharging all the power after unplugging by power supply, I did that too) Blue screen of death experience: It occurred out of nowhere, I wasn't doing anything demanding, just had NZXT CAM on, ioverlay running (for simracing) and crewchief (simracing soundpack). Nothing else running. Blue screen came on and upon restart, NZXT cam showed no GPU recognized as well as when I went into device manager. I initiated a restart and before restart, the blue screen of death flashed very briefly and then the pc restarted. After that, the gpu showed up and hasn't had a problem since. At around this point is when I learned there aren't any CPU drivers available. I learned this because I thought Adrenaline was trying to install updates for my chipset through the autodetect software but on an additional try, it was giving me "Error 182 - AMD Software installer detected AMD graphic hardware in your system configuration that is not supported". So I assumed it was just trying to install stuff initially for graphics related things and not my cpu. I'm a bit confused on how the GPU would still show a picture via HDMI cable if the computer was not necessarily recognizing it in the software. (Maybe some clarification for that?) So with all that, I need your guy's help. I'm new to all this so the more info, the better. Do you guys have any ideas of why my GPU wasn't recognized then is back to recognized and running fine. Updates checking: -Checked NVIDIA software and all the gaming updates for the 30370 were up to date. -Windows 11 fully up to date -CPU no drivers available -MSI motherboard up to date Malwarebytes didn't detect any viruses. Hardware check before install: GPU not cracked at connection (heard there are issues with this due to weight over time) and I placed a support at the corner that keeps it level) -when I installed the GPU, there wasn't an audible click with the clips at the pcie port but it also didn't pull out with a decent tug. But the clip does fully snap into place. CPU and GPU temps, load all normal. Additionally, I have had 2 other crashes today that are most current. One while playing iracing and the other barely doing anything.
  20. Hello all I recently built a sleeper build using a 1998 Gateway beige white case. 1000W PSU, i7 14700K, RTX 4070, 32gb 6000MHz Gskill DDR5, and a 2tb Samsung 990 Pro nvme. Upon first boot, i was able to fully install Windows 10 from a USB. It worked for roughly 15 minutes, then gave a BSOD. Restarted it, and got about 30 minutes of driver installs before a 2nd BSOD. I tried reseating RAM, using each stick individually, checking all PSU cables, reseating SSD, and everything else. I cannot even get into Windows or the Boot USB, and the BSOD loses more text each time. It's currently at 2 words, just saying "Contains Errors" What could this possibly be?

  22. Hey all, A few days a go I built my own PC for the first time and everything went well. All of a sudden today, when booting, I saw the CPU and DRAM lights on my MoBo light up for a small amount of time, but turn off again once getting to the windows login screen. After logging in, I can use my pc for maybe a minute, then it shows a bluescreen with the error "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION". But the bluescreen is shown twice (once on each side of the screen) and is squished to the top half, while the bottom half is just black with a line of green/red pixels separating the top and bottom of the screen. (I'll attach a picture of the BSoD in a reply to this when I get it next) Interestingly, when I'm just on the login screen, my pc doesn't bluescreen at all. It's been about 20 minutes of being on the login screen and nothing has happened. I also just logged in after waiting and there has been no bluescreen for the last 10 minutes. Is it possible there were just too many programs on startup and I had to wait to login for them all to load properly? Some of them were also asking me to log into my account for them again (Steam, Spotify, Epic Games Store, etc.) when I was logged in earlier today and everything was fine. I'm not quite sure what to do here, since the error lights on the board turn off once the pc is fully booted. Any help would be appreciated!
  23. I've been slamming my head against a brick wall for several hours now. My desktop ran into a BSOD after I was moving some files around to free space, none of which were in my boot drive. Anyways, I'm on a Windows 10, 64-bit with some ASrock Mobo. When I try the startup repair it says it couldn't repair my PC, and safe mode would land me back where I started. If I try to uninstall updates, that won't work either. I can't use a restore point or a system image file. I even tried installing a fresh install of windows on a USB and that won't work. Reseting my BIOS to defaults didn't do much either I've bene hopping from article to article trying to figure out the CMD route. If I use "bootrec /fixmbr" it works, but then as soon as I use "bootrec /fixboot" I get access denied. Then when I use "bootrec /rebuildbcd" and type "Y/A" I get "The required system device cannpt be identified due to multiple indistinguishable devices potentially matching the identification criteria. Here is the disk volumes and partitions: https://imgur.com/3QOgfHj Here is what I get when I try bootrec: https://imgur.com/ia5YELq
  24. Okay I don't even know what happened or what caused this but last night I installed a Windows update. I think it was Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 (KB5033372). Everything went fine until after it restarted. The ASUS TUF splash screen came up and the little loading circle came up as well, then it froze for what felt like 10-15 seconds. It finally booted into the windows login screen but very sluggishly. Then suddenly it BSOD and gave me an error saying kernel security check failed. It then rebooted again and this time no blue screen, however the system slowed to an absolute crawl! It was really laggy, choppy and hiccupping like crazy. The mouse cursor was skipping/stuttering, moved very slowly despite high DPI setting and there were also some screen artifacts on the desktop. (Kinda looked like when an LCD screen gets cracked) So at this point I figured a clean install of Windows was in order because I recently upgraded my motherboard from a B450 to an ASUS TUFF B550 and never did a clean install of the OS. So I figured maybe it was conflicting driver issue from the old mobo?? I dunno. I should also mention that I recently updated to the latest BIOS version about a week or so prior to any of this happening but everything was fine for a while. I ran games, booted up my system from sleep, restart, shutdown etc. It all ran beautifully before that damn Windows update! So anyway, I reinstalled Windows. I installed all latest Windows updates and all the necessary drivers etc. (I even had to spend $15 on another stupid Windows key!) All seemed fine and well until I woke the PC back up from sleep later on in the day. Black screen, no video signal. The PC then rebooted itself. Again, black screen. Finally when the signal came back it showed the TUF splash screen and the loading circle slowed and hung again. My heart sank! NOOOO! NOT AGAIN!! Windows login screen comes up and here we go again with the slow/sluggish/choppy responsiveness! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! WTF IS HAPPENING?!?! It also did those weird screen artifacts again! I ran sfc /scannow and it found and repaired some files. However the issue still persisted after another reboot. I then ran Windows update and it installed a .NET framework update. I rebooted it again and then this time the system seemed normal and stable again. I ran 3D Mark Timespy DX12 stress test for 20 loops. 99.2% frame stability. No crash, no BSOD, nothing. System was still stable afterward. I then ran Speed Way stress test for 20 loops. Again, 99.2% frame stability. No crash, no BSOD. Also played some Cyberpunk for about a half hour, no crash, no BSOD, game ran smoothly. However, I tried rebooting the system again, same issue. Hang on splash screen, then slow, stuttering responsiveness. Reboot again, and the system ran stable. I then rebooted it a couple more times just to see if I could replicate the issue again and sure enough, boom! It happened again. Did another reboot, and it's fine. Another reboot, still fine. One more reboot, here we go again! I should also note that in Event Viewer I noticed a ton of "Metadata staging failed" errors that came up around the times the issue was present. (Then again it also do when it wasn't) I'm not sure if that's relevant at all, but I feel I should still mention it. Like this is really weird! It seems like every now & then when I reboot my system it behaves really screwy. WHY?! Is it the BIOS update? If so, how? It ran great up until that update! Can someone please help? Here are my specs: ASUS TUF B550 Plus WIFI II motherboard Ryzen 5 5600x (No overclock) G.Skill 32GB 3200Mhz RAM (4 8GB sticks) ASUS TUF RTX 4070 EVGA Supernova 750W PSU Windows 10 Pro
  25. Specs: 3060 ti Founders Edition (for now; from pre-built) i7 14700KF ASUS Rog Strix z790-F Wireless mobo 32 gb corsair vengenance 5200 ddr5 RAM (currently one RAM stick is in whilst troubleshooting) 2TB MX500 Crucial SATA SSD (from pre-built) Corsair 850x PSU (from pre-built) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi guys (also posting here from Reddit as an completely stuck on what to do ) Over the past few days I have put together my first PC using some old parts from my pre-built build and others which are new. However, I've been experiencing issues. To start, my PC will POST when only one RAM stick is in. Both sticks work when they are in individually (one at a time) and in any mobo slot. Secondly, if I have one RAM stick in and boot my usb with the windows install, my PC will POST as normal with the ASUS logo appearing to go into BIOS. However, as the windows install comes up, I then get a blue blank screen and my PC turns off automatically about twenty seconds later. Sometimes, I have received three different error messages. The first two messages I have received is when I briefly see the windows install but get BSOD stating "PAGE\_FAULT IN NON\_PAGED AREA" and "Kmode exception not handled". The final message type I have received is a black screen with a "Windows boot manager" heading stating that the "digital signature for this file couldn't be verified. Status: 0xc0000428". Would anyone happen to know what issue I may be facing? At this point, I'm not entirely sure what the root cause to all these issues are; my gut says it's either a CPU (memory controller/cooler is too tight) or mobo issue. Would greatly appreciate any assistance, and apologies for the long post. Starting to go insane not knowing what could be causing this
