So I have been using Google Chrome for years now, but I am getting EXTREMELY fed-up with the high RAM usage, the constant ad tracking and information collection of google. More recently their blatant attempts to remove or stop adblockers has REALLY pissed me off. So, I am looking for a new Browser that is good on speed, has good security, adblocking features (or add-ons) and does not suck down RAM and CPU resources. Lately I have been hearing good things about Opera GX and I like some of the features I have seen., but made by a Chinese company. My last browser was Firefox except it was so freaking slow I drove me nuts. So I rather not go back to it unless I have to. Additionally I am not interested in Microsoft Edge, so don't even bother with suggesting it. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

I have a junky smart TV I got for free, Im not really sure what OS its running, I don't think it's Android but it has YouTube and a basic ass web browser. It's a Sharp Aquos. I want to use this TV to view my Tapo camera that I have setup at the door, so that I don't have to open the app every time. Plus, it's helpful for family members in the house , who aren't tech savvy, can still easily see who's at the door without opening it. but the issue as Ive found is that RTSP streams cant be directly views in the browser. I know VLC can play it but I don't think the TV can download applications? Is it possible to repackage the RTSP stream or convert it into a different format such that it can be viewed in-browser or maybe somehow setup a privat-ed stream on YouTube which can then be viewed on the TV? any help is greatly appreciated

Sooooo I basically just started using Thorium and she is fast my only gripe about it is that when I am on Udemy the player just gives me a black screen and does not play anything. Can this be a codec issue or some other thing going on? One thing to note is that I use localCDN and Ublock Origin, all the settings are stock in both of them except the rules that LocalCDN had generated for Ublock Origin. I disabled both and it still does not work however, strangely I have all the same extensions on Firefox and it works fine. I suspect this may be some sort of issue with chromium based browsers or maybe just Thorium itself? Thanks in advance(all the extensions I use are down below):

Some local apps and sites use this type of dialog box to 'login'. I know in the past I've been able to save my username and password, but it isn't working anymore. Any ideas on how to make that full proof and work again? Probably was with whatever version of chrome of Firefox I was using 2 or 3 years ago, but not since. I normally daily drive edge since it went chromium based but I use Opera and Chrome a bit as well.

I want to use a good fast modern browser but preferably not google chrome or Microsoft edge and I need to have dashlane extension on it. Does that exists?

I think Microsoft edge is a perfectly good browser and chrome is overrated. It hogs my memory anyway. Why does edge get so much hate?

Whenever I use any Bluetooth headphones and try to watch a YT video, the audio doesn't come out through the Headphones. when I check if it's connected it shows that it has been disconnected as soon as I played the YT video. Some times I get lucky and the video does work but the next one doesn't. The headphones work flawlessly on a phone or outside the browser. I'd like to find a solution to this since it has been buggin me for a long time, also because I'll need to use the headphones soon for my university's blackboard.

Hello, It's only been a month since I bought my computer, I didn't think it was a hardware problem, but now I have no choice but to ask you.As in the video I sent, there is no problem with the computer, I use it normally, I can access the browser. when I enter and everything stops until the browser is locked. I can't get over it, this is the first time I've seen something like this and I don't understand what I should do. 3. I'm formatting now. What I'm doing is I'm formatting -> I'm installing Windows update -> I'm downloading Chrome (it works in all browsers) -> I'm downloading b550f motherboard driver updates -> I download the RX 6800 driver update, then Chrome suddenly crashes while working normally. When I restart, the problem disappears, I use the browser normally, but after a while the same thing happens again. Can you please help? I have no choice but to think it is something technical, but if you have a suggestion for the software, I can take it. https://www.veed.io/view/83f880fc-0c01-4110-abc3-bd3a5445aaf3?sharingWidget=true&panel= Since I am Turkish, it is normal that you do not understand what I say in the video, I am just explaining the problem.

Hey everyone, For the past year at least I have been unable to download the windows security update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 (Version 1.395.806.0). It's starting to cause various problems on my PC because It's getting so out of date so I finally gave up and came here. (I believe It's what preventing me from turning on core isolation for example) The advice I've seen on the MS forums is to either download a newer version of .net framework or a .net framework troubleshooter, but both of these downloads get "blocked by my organization" even though I'm not part of one and no matter if I use chrome or edge. (I get this same message trying to download other things as well.) I'm really at my wits end here and any help would be appreciated (Windows 11 btw)

Hi all. Does anyone know how to stop this Google boo hoo we can't track you bullshite? Everyday several times when I open my browser and search I have to do a damn recaptcha I'm guessing because I'm behind a VPN and they don't like it. Short of not using the VPN (not an option I want to stay behind it) how do I stop all the recaptcha garbage?

Hello, Recently i have been having an issue with the browsers in my pc where certain websites will produce a crackling/popping sound whenever sound is being played. For some reason however, this only happens to select websites in the browsers. Youtube and spotify sound perfectly fine but other sites like Twitch and Reddit with produce that crackling sound when audio is being played. I first saw this issue on Chrome and thought that it was just a chrome bug but I replicated it in Opera GX, Edge and Brave and saw the exact same issue. I am using wireless headphones so I switched to a wired set and could still hear it . This audio bug does not happen in other applications and games, only in the browsers. Another thing that i have noticed is that there is also a visual bug on the browsers. Whenever I hover over things, there are some glitched lines that show up like this. again, it only happens in the browsers and not in other applications sorry if this seems like much, this is my first time posting here and i have been trying to resolve this issue for a couple days now, Thanks! computer specs: windows 11 AMD ryzen 7 5700G Nvidia 3060TI 16gb Ram for the other components I am not sure as this is a prebuilt. Here is a link to it: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-omen-25l-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-7-5700g-hyperx-16gb-memory-nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-512gb-ssd-1tb-hdd-ceramic-white/6504331.p?skuId=6504331

So when I connect to my work PC remotely, browser video players I might need are black/video removed. All the buttons are still there and the timeline, just video is black with no sound. Even tried to use things like Parsec and no luck. You can recreate the effect if you open up OBS, select the browser screen and inside obs it'll be black. If was told by some it's a browser issue thing, like the remote log in is using the same codec or something to build you your footage, the same one used to remake the video, that it overrides this. What sort of brower add on or settings needs to be ticked/disabled so that I can continue working?

I have this laptop with a i5-8265U and UHD 620graphics and a Geforce MX230 , connected to a VGA monitor via a a HDMI-VGA convertor I've been using my laptop like this for a while and then all of a sudden any kind of video play in the browser back or browser scrolling started getting laggy but the general UI (explorer , other apps) are running fine without any lag , even games ran fine without lags I disconnected the monitor and tried using my laptop directly on its inbuilt monitor and the issue still persisted , but only with video playback in the browser and general browser scrolling , I played games and the lag was not there , even in the external monitor So i did a clean reinstallation of the graphics drivers, tried restarting , and all the other basic fixes like reinstalling the browser and such and yet no avail https://photos.app.goo.gl/jWCrmbV5YjKiTw6R6 --- lag while scrolling https://photos.app.goo.gl/jWCrmbV5YjKiTw6R6 --- lag during video playback (video playback on other apps seems fine like VLC)

Hi, I just had the most strange revelation. My gaming rig (albeit old) can get pretty toasty if it is playing 4k video at 60fps on YouTube. Out of curiosity I looked at my CPU-usage while playing 4k 60fps YouTube videos. To my surprise Firefox ran with substantially lower CPU-usage in the same video. One would expect chrome to work the best as it is made by Google also and has the dominant web engine. See my files/pictures also. Do anyone know the reason. It this is across the board then it could perhaps merit a video. I notice now Firefox has higher GPU usage, there in might be the awnser. Firefox was also more smooth. Wishes PK97

I have been having this persistent issue since FB switched to the "new" interface where the tab will eat up excessive amounts of memory and then crash. During this crash, other tabs in the browser are not affected. This occurs in Chrome, Firefox and Opera, and it does not matter if the browser has been recently installed or has any add-ons (occurs in Safe Mode with no add-ons in all 3 browsers). All browsers are up to date. I do not typically run an excessive amount of tabs (usually no more than 2). This has occurred across multiple Windows 10 Pro installations as well as two entirely separate computers. it does not matter if hardware acceleration is enabled or disabled in the browser. This only seems to occur if I leave FB open for more than a few hours, and I gradually see the tab's performance decline before completely seizing. The only workaround I seem to find is to occasionally close the entire browser and relaunch. I have searched far and wide on forums and other pieces of the internet to find a satisfactory answer, but no luck. It seems that this is not an uncommon issue since the FB facelift but no good answer has been found. Regarding my hardware, currently I run a Ryzen 3900x processor at 4 GHz, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, an RTX 3070 OC video card, an M.2 SSD on which the browsers are installed, with Windows 10 Pro. I am not convinced my hardware is the culprit. My previous computer, which also experienced the issue, had an Intel Core i7-7700K processor, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, NVME M.2 SSD for the OS, GTX-1080 video card, SATA SSD for the browsers, and also Windows 10 Pro. I am also religious about keeping Windows up to date, and this issue has occurred across multiple builds. As expected, it is impossible to get any actual help from FB and their forums are equally useless. Please help! This is SUCH a frustrating issue given how central FB has become to staying connected with others.

I just used a few streaming services for the first time in a long long time on my pc and realized that some aren't pushing 1080p to chrome (namely netflix and prime video). Now i'm wondering if I should use the Windows 10 apps instead. I wanted to get an opinion on what people mostly use for their own set ups.

Hi! I have been using Brave browser for a couple of years now, and I think it's excellent. However the Opera browsers feature set is practically tailor made for my daily computing needs and I absolutely love it. Do you know any alternatives that has the same feature set as Opera, but you know... isn't Opera? Thanks

Trying out Brave atm and somehow i cannot add any websites to my cookie blocker exceptions. Everything i add will be deleted at the next browser startup, including their respective cookies making me log in everywhere again. I just installed the newest version a few minutes ago, so updates borking something is out of the question. There is no "save" or "apply" button anywhere so i cannot figure out what i'm doing wrong... I hope you can be of help. Before closing brave: After opening brave only these two remain (and cannot be manually deleted):

I'm getting things like the following - weird contrast errors, etc., in Brave browser, but not in Edge. I have no updates available to Brave, I have no driver updates available, and I didn't change any configurations before yesterday. I've rebooted, and that hasn't fixed anything. I've cleared cache (it's Brave, it clears it every time you close) Any ideas?

Hello to anyone seeing this I have a pretty old PC running Win10. I just got some stuff from my dad, his old Sony TV and his Harman Kardon 5.1 AVR. I put one of the HDMI outputs from my GPU to the AVR input, then sent the AVR output to the TV. Then configured the playback device to be 5.1 Surround and the AVR to 5channel auto. I ran into two issues. Funnily, the surrR and surrL speakers are mixed up. I'm using the configure menu to play sounds on each individual speaker for testing (image below). I tried swapping these weird exposed copper cables in the back between SL and SR multiple times but it doesn't output the right sounds still. These cables have no proper cable heads and just go into this hole in the back held in by a latch. There's one for every speaker labeled appropriately. The second issue is that when I tried playing a youtube surround test video, (similar sample testing videos), only L,R,C and the subwoofer show output. Chrome and Edge both ignore the surround speakers altogether (youtube, netflix etc). I'm very new to home theaters and TVs altogether so please shed some light onto these matters if you have a sec please. Thank you!

I’ve been looking into this browser recently for a variety of reasons (privacy, battery life saving, etc). I’m always when I see a “privacy friendly” browser be advertised or recommended (for example Opera is one that is frequently brought up, despite the issues Linus brought up in his video on it). What do you all think?

How do I clear/remove unwanted autofill information from Chrome? Sometimes I've just entered random information in entry fields and this has resulted in this information being saved somehow. And no, I'm not talking about removing my contact information (name, address, phone number etc.), I'm specifically wondering if there's a way to remove the history of these random entry field-words? Chrome: Version 90.0.4430.93 (Officiell version) (arm64) OS: macOS Big Sur 11.3
