Budget (including currency): R$5000, BRL, which would be around 955 USD, 1310 CAD, or 1405 AUD Country: Brazil, the hot part (northeast), if it helps. Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: emulating 3DS and DS games, unity, some amount of blender, the sims 3 and/or 4 (with mods and custom content), roblox, coding, drawing, garry's mod. Other details: i won't need a monitor, since my grandpa works with technology and i can ask him to see if he can find a monitor for me. i would also really love if you guys could find at least a few white and light blue parts, because that is the theme im going for. i already have the mouse, keyboard, case, and audio, so no need to look for one too. if needed, please ask for more information.

Summary Because apple didn't comply with the requirement of offering free chargers on Brazil, a consumer regulator seized the iPhones from retail stores. Quotes My thoughts I find that this is too little, they should do more harm to Apple. Apple isn't above the law, every company follows this requirement, so Apple should follow it too. People like to use Samsung as an example because they don't put chargers on the boxes on phones like the S22 but they follow the law, anyone who gets a Samsung phone that doesn't come with a charger can request a free charger for free at Samsung website, where it's considered acceptable by the ruling. Hey everyone, I'm currently updating my pc. I will only keep the case and HDs. I will get a I7 8700k and don't know what cooler solution I should choose. No intentions for OC. I don't know if I can put a aio water cooler in my case. My case is a 3R system L-1200. Old case but I like it, has great air flow and filters. I'm from Brazil... so I don't have a lot of options. My options can be find in this sites bellow. I would be confortable with something at maximum of R$300(BRL). Air coolers https://www.kabum.com.br/hardware/coolers/processador- Water coolers https://www.kabum.com.br/hardware/coolers/watercooler I would most likely buy the parts from this store, so I would get the cooler as well Any sugestions ? Thanks for the help!

Back in October the Brazilian Central Bank had already taken position against the BitCoin market calling it no different than a pyramid scheme driven by nothing but speculation: https://www.coindesk.com/brazil-central-bank-chief-compares-bitcoin-pyramid-scheme/ No further action was taken on the matter by then though.... until now: Since this is recent all sources are in Portuguese: https://noticias.r7.com/economia/comissao-reguladora-proibe-bitcoin-em-fundos-de-investimento-12012018 Among the main reasons for the ban of BitCoin on the stock exchange given: Should be noted that with the decision investments in BitCoin as like investing in Gold or something becomes illegal and BitCoin has already been taken off the national stock exchange however you're still allowed by the regulation to mine BitCoin at will, have it in your possession and use it for purchases where it is accepted nationally and internationally. So BitCoin as always is a gigantic roller-coaster, has huge ups and downs all across the world and this doesn't seems to be changing any time soon.

Hello everyone, first topic I'm making on these forums. Yay! Back onto the reason for the topic though: Budget and Location They're in Brazil of course, and budget is about 3500R$, or Roughly 1060$ USD / 944 Euros at the moment of posting. The 3500R$ is more of a hardline budget working off an allowance, but if it's only a bit over that we can probably cover the difference. I have some basic experience with building some (bad) PCs myself, they've never built one before, and neither of us has had to do a build in Brazil before so buying parts might be the biggest challenge with the taxes. And on that subject, I'm open to the idea of buying parts in the US where I live before shipping them off if that'll somehow save money vs Brazilian taxes. Aim The aim of the PC is just to be able to run all kinds of games reasonably smoothly, or at least without any issues caused by hardware itself. From stuff like DotA2/LoL, OverWatch, CS:GO, TF2, heavily modded Bethesda games, and so on, including yes, Minecraft and Crysis 2. Although it being optimized for faster action and multiplayer games like Overwatch might be preferable if you had to chose over that and other games. After that basic aim, optional goals include, being in a small form factor case with handles (or just good handles at all on a larger case) and dustproof/resistant would be more goals, and then upgradability and silence. Anything after that like being able to 3D model, video/image editing, streaming, ect isn't needed, although option for VR support in the future as is would be nice if somehow possible. And despite the portability it won't need Wifi, although if the motherboard comes with that it'd also be nice. Monitors and Peripherals With displays, they currently have 32 Inch Samsung Smart TV 32J4300 (which has HDMI), and an 18.5 inch 1336x768 60Hz monitor with VGA only called the P971WAL from Positivo that came with their old PC. For now the plan is just to use those two in a horribly mismatched dual monitor set up, (getting the proper VGA converter if needed), and just buy better monitors at a later date. Same thing with the peripherals. They have a very mismatched Cooler Master CM Storm QuickFire TK Wired Gaming Keyboard, and Microsoft Optical Mouse 200, but replacing the mouse can also just be done later too. And we'll probably need a Windows 7 Home/Pro, but the cost of a new one is something they or I can probably cover myself so there shouldn't be a need to account for that in the cost of the build. They also don't have any sound system either, but if the Smart TV doesn't have speakers, they could get ear buds to hold them over for the time being, or I could get them Koss KSC75s since they're super pretty cheap for me to go and get from Wallmart if shipping it off doesn't kill my wallet. And in the off chance it'll be helpful, made a quick PC Part Picker list with the Peripherals so far. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vXwbLD Why are you upgrading? And finally, the reason for upgrading is because their very old pre-built PC from Positivo was fried after it was left plugged in directly into a power outlet during a thunderstorm when lightning struck close enough to the house/powerline/ect, so most of it was fried. It's a good chance to upgrade at least since the old pre-built was was pretty horrible. The old Positivio PC had a 500GB HDD that might be possible to salvage, but not much else, only a single 2GB stick with unknown DDR which probably isn't worth trying to reuse, and the Windows Home Premium key if I can get them to bother looking around the PC case, although even then I'm guessing it's probably tied to the old motherboard (which also had a built in CPU apparently) so that probably wouldn't work. The reason I'm planning things out for them too is because they were about to buy a way overpriced pre-built PC before I offered to try and help them built one personally. But, I have no idea how to go about buying parts in Brazil though, I only have two topics about Brazilian PCPartPicker support with a list of online stores to look at and use. https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/57889-brazilian-stores-can-i-help-somehow-to-build-a-brazil-option https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/75625-can-we-add-brazil-to-the-supported-country-list

Edit: Whatsapp has returned after ~24 hours. A Brazillian Judge called Marcel Montavão has issued a mandate for suspending all communication for Whatsapp for the period of 72 hours, the service suspension started today (May 2nd) at 14:00 (GMT -3) and is still going at the current moment. The reason for the service suspension is the on going investigation of an interstate drug dealing gang. The Judge wants Whatsapp to give all information related to the investigation. He also got Diego Dzodan arrested for the same reason. Diego Dzodan is facebook's vice-president for Latin America. The episode happened on March 1st this year. Previously, Whatsapp was suspended for 48 hours, in February 2015, but it was overruled in the same day. In this case it was different judge, called Luiz de Moura Correia. With the idea of forcing the company to release information about child abuse and pedophiles that used Whatsapp for their crimes. If the internet providers don't respect the mandate, they will be subjected to a R$500.000,00 fine for each day that this happens. (That's around US$ 150.000,00) Whatsapp's position on the case is very clear, they say that they don't have the information, since after the messages are sent, they are deleted from the servers. 03/05: Whatsapp returns. The service suspension has been lifted today, after Ricardo Múcio Santana de Abreu Lima, another politician from Sergipe appealed for reconsideration on the order due to the disproportion of the punishment. The set of laws called "Marco Civil" in Brazil determines that whenever possible companies should cooperate to invetigations however they can. By this law specifically, the government is more leaned towards being right, BUT, the same set of laws also define the principle of proportion, where, any kind of punishment for companies, must be in proportion to the issue and effect as few uninvolved people as possible. Ricardo Múcio used that as one of arguments for stopping the blockage. And it seems to have worked! Say specialists about the suspension. The story isn't over, but at least people can chat about it using their beloved emojis again! So after some rumors and a lot of speculation, the Brazilian Congress issued a request in order to shutdown whatsapp for 48 hours, starting at 9pm Eastern tonight. WhatsApp being the MOST used application by something arround 93% of the brazilian population, "they put the internet on fire" as a lot of people say here in brazil. With the popularization of cheap smartphones and many cellphone carriers offering unlimited access to whatsapp with cheap prices per month, whatsapp became very, very quickly the Main communication tool in brazil, as well as a lot of corporations and small business use whatsapp as the main front door, on my job for exemple, about 90% of our costumers come from whatsapp. The reason behind this blocking are kind of being throwed around there, some say its because the police needs to investigate some pedophilia case, because of the encrypted nature of whatsapp, it is near impossible to track people and messages from it, others say that its because whatsapp its an "unregulated service" providing "unfair competition" for the cellphone carriers, i personally think that offering a better service doesn't imply unfair competition, but still, it is beyond my opinion. The fact is, twitter, and facebook are on Fire right now on brazil, people are all over the place talking about how it is bad, and how it is wrong, but for now, what i am going to do is sleep, knowing that tomorrow will be a easier day at my job since whatsapp is down, and i even don't use this thing. i always hated it since the start, i don't know how popular whatsapp is in the rest of the world or how many of you care, but there it is, gimme your opinions about this, bellow i leave a link for a more "trust worthy" news site so you guys can have your own opinion. source: http://techcrunch.com/2015/12/16/brazils-congress-has-shut-down-whatsapp-tonight-and-the-rest-of-the-social-web-could-be-next/?ncid=rss

By the title of this article you can imagine what TecLab have done some mad things. This time, they prepared a expensive Titan X for Maximum overclocking, modifying it totally, thats mandatory in order to break the limits of overclocking on this card. The problem is doing this anything can happen, and in this case, it did. Acording with the overclockers Ronaldo "rbuass", Overclocking champion, and his partner, Jacson "bros", the board literly catch fire after the modifications. "We've done hundreds of cards this way, so called "Zombies" with a custom Power management system, but we have never seen this happen, After being tested and working flawlessly for some minutes, our hope colapsed" said Buassali. He did also telled that "Suddenly it start to spark and then catched fire", he resigned the situation, since it is part of his life as an overclocker, However, both of then could not give up after so much hard work and a so big Hope of succes. Sure their will its the break of the World Records on 3D Graphics, something that so much times they did, but what to do with that crisppy card? "We tried to identify the problem and nothing. The Board continued in a total short circuit, due to the total melting of the boards printed circuit, the layers may have been united. But we didnt give up, Once a Zombie, we decided to cut the defective part, carefully to dont do more damage to the part we didnt modiffy, and we created a "prosthesis" for video cards" - Says the Overclocker laughing with what happened. They are very rare the professionals who do this level of modifications to a card, not everybody can do a zombie like that, but doing the prosthesis its something even beyond in the TecLabs history. "We Worked arround 20 hours on the board, i would have a trip to the USA the day after. All we wanted is to see if it boots, but u can bet, soon you will have your results." informed Buassali. They promissed a video with the resoults and more in-depth explanation of the process, so keep in touch to learn more about this story. source http://www.tecmundo.com.br/teclab/79377-overclockers-modificam-gtx-titan-x-extremo-perdem-6-mil-reais.htm?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=imggrande Disclaimer: Hi, im joao from brazil, and this is my first post here, i really like all the LMG things and i wanted to contribuite, please tell me what u think about this article, constructive criticism is apreciated.

Hey everybody, I've been making some travel plans, and the way I decide where to go is just find an excuse to go somewhere, and then go. I was about to head straight to the states when I saw there was going to be a meetup. I figured this was a good excuse to go to Canada, so I'm going to do that for two weeks. I was wondering if anyone in the community would be willing to lend me their couch for all or part of that time. I'm willing to pay in money, beer, or groceries if you want, as long as I can get away with paying less than I would have for a hotel, motel, or giant upturned poutine box. I can also pick up things you can only get in Brazil, since that's where I am right now. The laptop is staying behind, so I won't drain your power bill with any heavy-duty computation. If you have any doubts, I'll do my best to try alleviate them. Cheers, Reid

Nintendo Will No Longer Sell Consoles or Games in Brazil
Rohith_Kumar_Sp posted a topic in Tech News
Goddamn , it's a re-post . sorry , didn't find the original post when i searched : http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/288127-nintendo-to-halt-console-and-software-distribution-in-brazil/ Nintendo is pulling out of Brazil. The company announced yesterday that it will no longer distribute products there due to the country's high tariffs on electronics, despite its "many passionate fans" that live there. Nintendo officially blames "challenges in the local business environment," including "high import duties…and our decision not to have a local manufacturing operation." They'll continue to distribute products elsewhere in South America, but for Brazil, Mario, Link and Pikachu are now effectively out of reach. Video game consoles are really expensive in Brazil. The PS4 costs $4,000 Brazilian Real there, which currently translates to almost $1,500 US, while the Xbox One sells for R$2,200, or just over $800. It's unclear why there's such a big difference between the two, but both consoles' high price tags can be attributed to the country's high import fees and taxes. So what about the Wii U? The console launched there in 2013 for R$1,899, which at the time converted to about $830 but now is closer to $700. That's cheaper than the Xbox One and PS4, but it's still far more expensive than in other countries. Why stop now? Research cited by Kotaku Brazil in 2013 found that the Xbox 360 was by far the most popular console there, and one can easily speculate that Nintendo hasn't gained much market share since then—they wouldn't be leaving if they had. Maybe they could have hiked the price up even more, but that wouldn't have helped if people aren't buying their stuff to begin with. Maybe this is a sort of protest, an attempt to nudge Brazil into becoming more friendly to electronics importers. It's impossible to know for sure, though, and Nintendo isn't saying much beyond its official statement, which you can read in full below Source : http://jogos.uol.com.br/ultimas-noticias/2015/01/09/nintendo-encerra-operacoes-no-brasil.htm http://www.polygon.com/2015/1/10/7524759/nintendo-brazil-wii-u-3ds-tariffs-taxes -

A Brazilian Judge ordered Apple, Google and Microsoft to pull Secret and Cryptic from their respective stores, as they were abused by bullies who want to intimidate and shame others, and the judge was fed up by these cases. The Judge has also ruled that each company should also pull these apps from devices, or face a fine of 20,000 Reals ($8,876) per day. http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/20/brazil-judge-wants-secret-app-removed/ http://pocketnow.com/2014/08/20/secret-cryptic-brazil-ban

So I saw this on both Kotaku and Polygon that this statistic says (look below) will make the PS4 in Brazil cost $1850 USD.. That's insane and because of fees and taxes in Brazil. Links to the articles http://kotaku.com/even-sony-thinks-an-1850-ps4-is-bad-for-gamers-1449763494 http://www.polygon.com/2013/10/21/4863954/ps4s-brazil-import-fees-taxes So Sony this statement about it So hopefully this will be resolved or the PS4 will only be for the 'well off' in Brazil and more will come to Dota 2 (JK) PS. Sorry if this was already a thread. I didn't find anything mentioning this
