Hi everyone, I hope y'all fine. Here's the situation: A family member wants to buy one Android box for some movies and series, the problem is that we live in the same house, I work from home so i'm scared that by giving this android box access to our Internet it could lead to problems. This family members really wants this box. I decided to buy a year subscription for a 4G network (yearly) to seperate my Personal and Workstation from the main internet soruce (going to buy it tomorrow). My questions: What happens when you connect the android box to a network? Does these boxes have full access on the computers, phones, everything connected to the infected network? Will my new Internet 4G network be safe if I don't connect that android box on it? Is there a risk? Is there something that I should do before installing that android box? Something to change/update/wipe? I'm really concerned. Thanks

Hi all, I was looking for a box for this model of GPU. I was a dummy when I first got mine, this was my first GPU, and I got rid of the box. I am now wanting to sell my GPU and need the box. I am open to buying it if you have one. If you don't do you have any ideas where I can get one? I have scoured eBay and have had no luck. Kind Regards, WeTuLo707 This is the model if you have it... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09BK6NJ9N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can someone tell me what are exact FE box dimensions? A friend will try to buy one, but we need to know if it will fit in his baggage.

I've been looking online for some device that can do these things: Stream platform like Disney+, Netflix, Amazon... Has USB ports Has an Ethernet Jack Stream using the Steam Link App at 1080p 60 fps, say 30-70 Mbit/s The obvious choice is the Nvidia Shield TV 4K but at $200 there has to be something cheaper available, and that's what I'm trying to find! I'm considering buying a device like this: https://www.amazon.com/4K-Ultra-HD-Android-Box/dp/B07NGKQB88/ref=sr_1_1?tag=at88-20&dchild=1&keywords=Ematic Jetstream&qid=1600753482&sr=8-1&geniuslink=true My biggest concern with this is whether the hardware is enough to run steam link smoothly. There seems to be practically no information or comparison among various devices and hardware schemes aside from the odd Reddit post saying "Nvidia shield works best." Does anyone know about this subject and how has your experience using Steam link on a dedicated Android TV stick/box been?

Current smart tv isn't very smart since it was based on vewd OS, basically it's mostly used for YouTube now, and the advertisements are getting more and more annoying. Raspberry Pi 3B+ with just 1 GB of RAM is still able to run minimal KODI. YouTube add-on from within KODI has no ads, but has problems of it's own, will not go in details. I don't know if I can really blame it for slowdowns when everything we watch is online content that relies on servers and my own router. Android does offer more options, but how much RAM would one need for it to be responsive? Shield only having max 3 GB of RAM, that's the same amount as my 12 year old laptop. From my experience android uses more RAM compared to win 7( phone uses almost 2GB with nothing launched, while win 7 around 600 MB) . Will $3000 laser projector perform worse than $150 android tv box device with 4 GB of RAM? Projector I am considering: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08FXN1SVR?th=1 The details they provide is a joke, floppy for crying out loud... I assume bright enough laser projector might be used outside in the fresh air, that's a plus during summer heat wave. I don't care much about widevine certification, because it's no good for non English content anyway, and I am trying to improve experience of users that don't speak English(my parents). Having official google play services support would save a lot of headache on the other side, so that's another reason not to order from China. I wouldn't buy new TV, when I got nowhere to put my old ones, yes multiple, already. I might get both projector and a tv box, if someone can suggest great device that ships from within EU. And I don't trust wireless too much, so device better have RJ-45 port. I know alternative is downloading a ton of content and running local media server, but that's only good for classic good stuff that you know you will want to watch again.

Hey everyone, I'm looking for assistance in figuring out what setting in my router is blocking my home assistant virtual machine from working. I keep getting TX hang errors which is causing my PC to become non responsive when trying to run home assistant via virtualbox. Through a process of elimination I've managed to narrow it down to something in my Unifi setup. I know it's something in there as I plugged in my ISP's router and home assistant launches fine so something in Unifi is blocking this from working. Here's the log I get when it becomes non responsive: Here

Kailh Box Jade - The Best Clicky Switch to Ever Exist
jiyeon posted a blog entry in Sowon's Switches Reviews
The Kailh Box Jade is one of the most famous clicky switches in the mechanical keyboard scene, boasting a thick click bar, MX stem with a box, and moderate afforadability at around $0.34 at any major mechanical keyboard switch retailer. I have owned and use Kailh Box Jades for a month on my main keyboard and have experienced great joy from using these particular switches, they have a consistent click and actuation, and the sound of them is crisp and full, compared to that of the Cherry Blue's click jacket, which in contrasts sound hollow, dull, plasticky, and unapologetically cheap. The Kailh Box Jades were my second major mechanical keyswitch, the first being the Outemu Blue in my previous E-Element Z-88 mechanical keyboard. The Jades blow the Blues out of the water in every single way. As mentioned earlier, the Kailh Box Jade feature what is called a click bar,the small metal, paperclip-like bar in the middle of the bottom housing, this in conjunction with the stem leg on the switch's stem is what creates the satisfying, full, punchy click of the Kailh Box Jade. The click feels as good as it sounds. The super thick click bar generates a very loud, typewriter-like sound signature that exudes pleasure on every keypress. It is that good of a keyswitch and I would easily call these the best clicky switch available to buy on the market at present. The box around the stem is not just for aesthetics either, it's for dust protection as well as keycap stability. The housing is made by Kailh and does feature the traditional four pegs but rather only two clips on the side which shows in the unique bottom housing and the stem to accomodate. As a result, frankensteining these switches with other switches such as Gateron Blues or Zealios will not work. I have however had luck swapping the springs an dstems of the Kailh Box Jades and Pale Blues as they both feature the Kailh housing. My one complaint about the switch is its weight, at stock, it takes approximately 70-73g of force to overcome the click followed by 50g of force to actuate after the initial bump. I found this heavy after long sessions, although your mileage may vary, and I am a fan of light linear switches, so a fairly heavy clicky switch like this was not in my alley. I believe if you are able to have the finger stamina to type on these switches, you'll find them very satisfying, just as I did. I believe the weight is what creates that heavy and full click, as I imagine a lighter spring or thinner click bar would result in a quieter, toned-down, crumbled down click compared to the crisp clean click of the Kailh Box Jade. As a complete package, the Kailh Box Jade is easily my favorite clicky switch. It has a crisp & sharp click thanks to that thick click bar and decent weight albeit a bit heavy for my tastes. I have not had the opportunity to use the Kailh Box Navy, the Jade's heavier brother, but I would assume with my glaring concern regarding weight and finger fatigue of the Jade, that I would find the Navy a bit overbearing for my fingers, and I find the Jade the perfect mix of click and actuation. -
Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga 510-14ISK running Windows 10 build 14393. A few months after i bought this laptop my username and password box wouldn't show up every time i locked or started the pc for the first time. I already did a fresh install of Windows and replaced the drive with a Samsung 850 EVO SSD, Windows is set to boot in 'normal' mode (so safe mode is disabled). Is this a known bug for this build or am i doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I am looking for a high quality box or case to keep my various tech items tidy (XBOX controller, various cables, earphones, usb drives, drawing tablet, cleaning cloths etc.) Ideally it would be made of aluminium, wood or strong plastic, contain multiple dividers, would be lined with leather, felt or foam and would be small enough to fit on a desk, but large enough to fit and a reasonable amount of different tech. Does anyone have any ideas? A quick Amazon or Google search yields nothing... Thanks for any help. Sam

Alienware Alpha R2 (2016) Hello, so in mid 2016 Alienware re-visioned there SFF gaming PC (Alpha) which was originally a Steam-OS Box but due to Valve running on "Valve" Time they added a fresh copy of windows 8 and a Xbox 360 controller to recoup some of the hardware engineering costs until steam-OS announced. So now they are here with the revision 2 (R2) and by god am I surprised! With the size of about a Wii (or Wii U Game pad) it has A LOT of hardware under the hood. For the base model (Pricing and availability completely up to Dell and Alienware) it rocks a i3 6100T (the T is meaning a low wattage/TDP) and a GTX 960 A full desktop GPU inside! (4GB GDDR5) and it can go all the way to a 6700T and if you desire more graphics processing you can hook the box up to a Alienware Graphics Amplifier which is limited to alienware laptops (and the alpha). So benchmarks are here, Battlefield 1 (Ultra) 1080p 75FPS Average CS:GO 1080p (Auto High) 200FPS + Doom (Vulkan) 1080p (Auto Ultra) 67-70FPS Average Battlefront (StarWars) 1080p Ultra 60FPS With all this said this is a VERY Competent 1080p Gaming Box and I would love it if Linus or Luke could review it. Thanks!! <3 -LtGamezz

I just want to know if it would be safe to buy an open box item like this. Would it come with a warranty like normal? If I have any problems past the 30 day return period what would I do? My 2nd choice would be this.

Hey guys, not sure if this in in the right topic. I am looking at turning my Raspberry Pi 2 into an emulation center to emulate some old games (NES, PS1, possibly PS2 if it can handle it, and more). I was just wondering if anyone had done this and if you were able to emulate multiple consoles on the one pi. Thank you!

Not too sure if this is the right place but it's android which phones and tablets run and this is hardware related so if this is the wrong place I'm sorry. Anyway so I have this android box that refuses to power on. It's got a spring type switch on the top and the adaptor I'm using is giving out the required 5v. Now whatever is wrong with the box, as soon as I press the switch on the measured incoming voltage goes down to 1v and fluctuates up and down very slightly. Whatever is going wrong sounds like a short circuit somewhere. Does anyone know what type of component failing would cause this to happen when the power is on? I was thinking a diode but I'm not too sure tbh.

First we have the Zinger chicken sandwich that was send to space. Next there is the KFC smart phone, and now we have the KFC GamerBox 2.0. The gamerbox comes with a single split bluetooth game controller, that's attached to each side of the box, with plastic clip on top for your smartphone so you can play games, while you eat. The clip also doubles as a soda can holder, where it comes with Mountain Dew, since KFC partner with them to come up with this unique gaming device. KFC GamerBox 2.0 is only available in India, so outside of India wants one of this, well need to hit up on their social media and see if they can win one through their contest. http://wccftech.com/kfc-chicken-box-game-controller/

I was looking through cases and I came upon the Cooler Master Box 5. I saw different coloured variation then I came across the Canadian Edition. I looked up it's specification and I don't see any difference based on my limited research. I was just wondering if anyone knows the actual difference between a Regular Master Box 5 vs. Canadian Edition? The website product is this link here: http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX64480

We have a samsung tv, probably about 48 inch. We also only have basic cable, since we do not watch it much. The problem that is really annoying is the resolution is so screwed up. I assume the box's resolution is smaller than the tv, although, it varies from channel to channel. Since I cannot find the exact tv I have on samsung's website, I'm not sure what it's resolution is. Is there any way to make most channels just fit? We've been through 3 different boxes and none of them fit. *I have tried setting it to every type of fit (stretch, wide, normal, etc)

I have an HP 8300 with an i5-3470 processor that I am currently running as my pfsense router. I want to split this machine and make run as a HTPC also. HTPC requirements: Play 4K video (a cheap 1050 or 750Ti is more than capable) UHD Blu-ray and SD/CF support Full OS (will NOT be using for gaming or NAS) What VM set up should I use? This is a non priority PC basically a glorified Blu-ray player with a browser. Should I make PfSense the base install and add KVM? Use FreeNas or UnRaid with virtualize windows and PfSense?

Does anyone have this issues where you go to the subscription tab on YouTube and all you get is a blank page saying: "Your subscriptions haven’t uploaded any videos yet. Try finding another channel to subscribe to." ? Why is YouTube so bloody broken?
