Hello, I've been trying to mount a Barrow LTPRP-04l S (mini) block/pump onto my LGA-2011-3 narrow socket Intel/asrock motherboard. I am having trouble finding a mounting plate that is suitable, the AMD plate included with the pump was close but ultimately unuseable, even if modified due to the positioning limitations. However I came across this old EK Supremacy LGA-2011 Mounting Narrow mounting plate that looks like it could be a really good option... but being discontinued I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone got one or is able to help me find one? I've attached a picture of what I'm looking for. Thank you!

Hi Folks, Got my first gpu block, and it's from a brand called bykski. Got it from Aliexpress, my only option. The seller sent instructions for some cpu block instead of this block, can be a human error. But I did find instructions online, and I am a bit concerned about what I am seeing there. While I am waiting on the sellers response, I am partially convinced they will just send me the same stuff I found online already. Based on the instructions: (attached) They are not telling me to use pads on those rectangular capacitors -- LR22 The GPU's own cooloer has pads for those capacitors as well though. The pads used by Palit (my cards manufaturer) used different color pads for those capacitors. And these same pads were used on the backplat as well. So my best guess is: These capacitors, and whats on the back of the card just need to be insolated Or don't require as much cooling But adding pads where there's no space migth cause bad contact with the die itself. I am just worried about potentially shorting the card itself due to some kind of direct contact. Details: GPU: Palit GameRock 3080TI (non-OC) Block: n-pt3090gr-x

Hello peeps, I would like to find out if the g12 kraken would be compatible with a rtx 2070s ventus oc. I messaged nxzt and msi and they haven't bothered to answer in months hence why i call upon your knowledge once again. The monitor recommended by you guys (lg 850) is the best I ever had so I trust you.

Budget: My PC is my baby, I can't put a number on it. Country: USA (Vermont, AKA no Ikea for hundreds of miles) So this last year has been hell for us all, especially when it comes to building a custom PC. After a really long time of searching, I upgraded my 7 year old (8 now?) laptop that had an i7-4750HQ with Iris Pro 5200 iGPU and 8GB of RAM, to a beautiful new PC with a 3080 FE, 5900x, etc - full PC here. Now that I have the PC of my dreams (more or less), I need the desk / area to match it. I'm currently using an L shaped tempered glass desk I got on Amazon that's alright, but it sucks to clamp a racing wheel to, monitors arms, etc, and the overall space is kind of limited. That said, I'm looking to go the butcher block route like all the beautiful sexy battlestations you see on the internet. On that note, I don't have an Ikea anywhere near me (and shipping is insane), and Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon, Walmart, etc, are all failing me as far as replacing the "Alex Drawers" is concerned. DESK PARTS Support / Alex Drawer Replacement - Costco Mobile 3-drawer Pedestal File Cabinet with Casters x2 Butcher Block / Desk Top - Butcher Block From Lowes The file cabinets weigh in at 60lbs each, and all reviews say that the build quality exceed expectations. I found a few reviews of people using them for the exact same purpose as me, and they seem to love them. They're a bit pricey, but very heavy duty, and offer great storage, which I am in need of (it's not just support for the desk, I do in fact need storage of this nature). I'd prefer a wood look I think (to match), but the structural integrity of this sounds better, they're very heavy-duty, and the matte finish doesn't look too off from wood IMO. As for the butcher block, this is where I need help. I know jack about wood, and despite a bit of research, I'm not learning as much as I'd like. I have no experience with coloring, finishing, etc. I'd like the block to be a bit on the darker side, but the other blocks I found that were dark, also had pretty bad reviews, and I'd rather have a better piece of wood and finish it if needed (or not), than a bad piece of wood. I do have a cat that will likely climb around on the desk time to time, so a finish to ensure basic walking on it, food plates, drinks (with coasters 99% of the time) don't destroy it is desired. 6 Foot seems to meet my spatial needs, and hopefully won't sag at all like an 8 foot that probably requires a support. If I do need a support in the middle for this, please let me know, but the PC itself will be on the right, directly over a cabinet. It was also suggested I get some non-slip material for between the wood and desk, which seems like sound advice. In a perfect world I might go 8 foot instead of 6 foot on the butcher block, but I currently don't have the space, and I think with a monitor arm I'll be completely fine. My needs are simply more space, more storage (current desk has none, and I have a plastic bin type storage that sucks), and enough room for triple monitors and my PC. I think I'll want a monitor arm soon after, but I can figure that out once I have the desk. I just bought a second Dell S2721DGF, and I literally can't fit it on my desk right now, even if I remove the older 22'' Acer I have, as there's just no space for it. Any advice on the butcher block? Does this seem like it will work? Anything I'm missing? Are there any non-DIY desks at $500 that blow this out of the water? $500 is steep for a DIY, but I think the results will be amazing, just really want some outside perspective and confirmation before I drop this kind of money on a desk area. Thanks for any advice, it's incredibly appreciated! First photo is old, but more or less my setup (had a 3070 TI that I sold and replaced with the 3080) Second photo is my current setup, showing how that monitor just isn't going to fit, and my shit is crowded. New shelf though! Third photo is a rough generic idea of what I'm going for - image credit, someone with a better space than I.

Summary Square is now renaming it’s company to Block because of blockchain. Quotes My thoughts I think it’s fine. I think everyone knows that crypto currency’s are going to take over, and now that we may be able to pay for stuff with cryptos like Doge and maybe Bitcoin again. Even though it’s terrible for the environment, it’s fine for now. Sources https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/12/01/square-changes-corporate-name-to-block-.html

I don't exactly like it when other people see what websites I visit, it gives a lot of my interests and personality away. I'm a pretty privacy focused guy overall. So made a homemade VPN server using PPTP on a tplink router. Everything is working on it every time. Except when my School's public network blocks Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol. Is there any way I could hide the connection or do anything to fix it? Could a proxy server fix the problem? Here's a screenshot of the configuration I use:

Hi, I have 5800x water cooled, temps on stress testing hoovers in mid 70s. All limits disabled and +150mhz. Is it worth upgrading the CPU block, i currently have EKWB Classic block, will new block drastically improves temps?

Recently in my country, Iran, there have been talks that, our government is going to block our any access to the internet (International), and are going to make a localized one. I really hope that you can give some suggestions on how to circumvent that because if that happens, it is going to be disastrous for us. Please give suggestions

Hey guys, I have just a quick question. I've just installed 2x EK Quantum Vector 3090 FE waterblocks, and the bottom one of the two appears to have what I assume are bubbles trapped between the acrylic and the plate. Here's a photo of what I've spotted. Is this normal/okay? I know there's been a few bubbles in the system and that they will take a few days to clear out, I just wanted to make sure there's not a fault with the block. Also, here's a couple shots of the whole setup for bants: Please excuse the mix of tubing - long story short I had the wrong fittings but basically this weekend I will be replacing all the clear tubing with ZMT (and redoing some different run paths, I can already pick out some better routes). Here's a shot of it before the water cooling (temps were not viable...) So far the temps (in the water cooling) have the vram temps at about 74c (down from 106 in aircooled) and the GPU die sits around 62c under a rendering load. CPU sits around 60-70C when rendering (5900x). This is my first ever custom loop and will be an ongoing project. Machine is used for rendering with Octane and Redshift hence the GPU horsepower.

I created this super long list for blocking YouTube spam bots for my channel many years ago. It took my videos from a few scammers every video to absolutely none. Haven't had a spam/scam comment in well over a year and I generally post a few times a week. About 2 months ago, I gave access to a few friends with channels that are 15k+ subs that generally get a dozen spam comments every video. They went from a dozen per video to none with this list. This list has thousands of URL blocks, as well as nearly every domain a spam/scammer could use. This list is over 5300 individually blocked items for your YT Comments section. How to apply this list: 1.) Go to your YT Channel Dashboard on a relatively good PC 2.) Click Settings on bottom left above send feedback 3.) go to Community in the window that pops up 4.) scroll down to your Blocked Words list 5.) Open my raw pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/raw/sUigSZpb 6.) Control+A/Cmd+A and then Control+C/Cmd+C the entire thing 7.) Paste it in your blocked words box. Your browser may freeze up. Wait until it is responding to stuff again and click Save From there, you should be safe from spam bots. Video tutorial: (at the time of posting, HD is still processing)

Hello, There's a way to block ads on all apps on Android without additional software and it works on almost all apps and web browsers Note:- This doesn't work on YouTube because they load the ads directly with the videostream and trying to block them on dns level will break the videostream.

Dear reader, After Windows decided to promptly bluescreen and feature-update my system; inside working hours; unannounced with no warning; while I was actively using the system, I am looking into options to take over manual control over their ridiculous updating policy and practices. Furthermore, I do not wish to partake in the Russian roulette that is "Will this update brick my system+data or not?" I had thought that using Debotnet scripts would work (ran scripts in both user and administrator privileges), but it apparently didn't. I am using Windows 10 Pro N, version 1809. My setting is on a delay on feature updates for 365 days. I have found several methods and software (some links may contain the same), but I am not certain if they still work or not. Most seem not really updated on their effect (e.g., updates stop at ±2018): (1) https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1133684-stopping-windows-from-auto-updating/?tab=comments#comment-13122271 (accompanying software): https://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.1836 (2) https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/954195-ten-different-ways-to-stop-block-or-disable-windows-update-in-windows-10-updated-sept-2018/?tab=comments#comment-11593102 (3) https://www.wintips.org/how-to-turn-off-windows-10-updates-permanently/#part-2 (4) https://www.mirinsoft.com/ms-apps/debotnet Do any of you have experience with any of the aforementioned methods, either in comments or the described ones, or perhaps can provide one that I did not list here? What would work best? Cheers, JB

Hello, I've got a small media-server at home which seams to be a widely used target for brute-force attacks. I've tried to secure it a bit with the following tweaks. - Disallow RDP access for admin accounts - Use custom port for RDP - Require strong passwords - Account Lockout on X failed attempts - Scan logs every x min for failed attempts and then block IPs in the firewall I know that I should probably only allow local connections and use a VPN-solution, but I want to be able to quickly and easily connect even from a friends house without any extra hustle. My idea is that I want to block all IPs that's not in my country range as well as block IP's within that range that have x failed login attempts. So, I've setup a firewall rule to block all incoming connections from (placeholder). I then add IPs to the placeholder with a powershell script every x min if the script find 5+ failed login attempts from an IP. .. But how would I go about blocking all incoming connections from an IP that is not within my defined range on-top of that?

Title says it all, is there maybe a modern equivalent to the apogee drive 2, or at least other options? (i.e. a pump block combo)

So, it's now 7 months ago that I built my very first watercooling loop. Everything went great, no leaks or anything. A few days ago I noticed that my water was turning grey/black. So I look at my tubes, and my blocks. And I see something green in there. At first I think its algae, and I take it apart to clean it. That's when I notice that its not algae, but rather what appears to be corrosion on the CPU block. What can be done about this? Do I need a nickel block? It was way worse, but I washed it off to get a better view.

Im doing a very compact build and every bit matters, does anyone know the thickness of EKWB FC blocks? preferably in mm

Buy Custom Liquid Cooling Hardware on Amazon: http://geni.us/brgKt This thing is uh... well it's pretty freaking janky. BUT it's actually not as bad as you might think!

Long story short: I did some changes to my custom water loop, didn't pay attention to the cpu water block flow direction, noticed today (after weeks) that I have the flow going backwards, decided it's a great chance to do some water cooling science! Lets just cut to the results. Ambient during tests 22~23C, other details below: And 30 mins later: System: CPU: Intel i7 3970X @ daily 4.6 GHz ~1.37 V GPU(s): 2x Gigabyte R9 290OC (Water cooled) Motherboard: Asus P9X79 RAM: Kingston HyperX 32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 PSU: Corsair AX860i Water Cooling: CPU block: Alphacool NexXxoS XP³ Light - Acetal (it does have "IN" carved at the center port and "OUT" at the top port) GPU blocks: EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0) Tim: GC- Extreme Pump: EK-5D Vario (X- RES 100) Radiators: Phobya Xtreme NOVA 1080mm (9x Bitfenix Spectre push) + 480 mm (4x Alphacool NB-eLoop push) + AlphaCool UT60 360mm (3x noctua fans push) Notes: - Only the CPU was loaded, 1st GPU was at idle and 2nd GPU was powered off. - Prime95 small FFTs (with AVX) was used to load the CPU. - Pump and fans were run at the max speed. - AX860i with Corsair Link software was used to log the most of the data, GPUz was used for GPU temp & VRM1 & VRM2 temp. - Ambient temp was read from a cheap thermometer... It showed around 22 C for the "reversed" test and 22.5 C for the "correct", but is unreliable. - This was just a quick test to see how much of an effect does the flow direction have on the CPU temps, not conclusive on the matter or system performance. - To change the flow direction, pump inlet and outlet were swapped, which reverses the direction of the flow in the whole loop, so technically it could have affected the temps in other ways than just the flow inside the CPU block. - The loop had still small air bubbles in it after swapping the tubes, but nothing that should have impacted the performance. Well after analysing the results myself, I came to the conclusion it doesn't matter a whole lot. Maybe, maybe (if you believe hard enough) 1 C better with the "correct" flow direction, but it's well within the margin of error. Other things I observed: "MB CPU" temp came down with the "correct" flow direction, but I don't know what that is and it looks to be a bit random anyway. Looks like the GPU VRM1 temp came down ~2 C, probably because the flow divides more easily into the VRM channel inside the GPU water block with this flow direction (or it's just random variation). What we learnt? Once again, don't sweat the small details, just add more radiators!

I live in a dorm where social media and youtube are blocked by the fortinet system owned by the school. I know you guys are going to ask me about talking to the admin, however, many have done so in the past. I know this isn't really legal but my same school in another are doesn't block anything at all. The policy also don't state anything about internet. The access point their using is made by fortinet. I just need access to social media and youtube, or else, how am I even watching LTT?

Hello All! Currently my school block all kinds of websites, even Reddit and Discord! They block anything that can allow you to get around the block and any websites that involve things like VPN's, Proxies and a lot of tech related things... How could they! Therefor they block the vast majority of VPN's, though I've only tried a few proxies that seem to be blocked too. Currently I've been doing this on my chrome book, but soon (within a month) I'm going to be getting a semi-gaming laptop (win 10) Anyone have any ideas on how I can get around these blocks? Main priority is getting through to Discord... Thanks -Modern_Mo
