Hello, i really need help with this problem. I have a laptop with an i7 CPU, a Geforce RTX 2070 Max-Q GPU and a 144Hz monitor. OS: { Windows 10 Pro | Version 21H2 | Installed on 5/‎2/‎2022 | OS build 19044.1288 } Laptop Model: HP Omen 15-dc1xxx It came without an operating system so i had to install Windows 10 from scratch. I've been encountering the following problem when playing specific games like Overwatch, Hearthstone, Tropico 4, Dragon age 1 and 2, Bugsnax, Cities:Skylines, Sims 4, Sea of Thieves and for some reason whenever i use VLC player(its instant if i use x2 speed on VLC). Whenever i try to play them it would work for 30 minutes at most and then my entire screen would go black, the sound would still work for a few minutes, and my cursor wouldn't show up. I'm forced to hard reset my laptop. (The black screen wouldn't go away even after 4 hours). The strange thing is I haven't had this problem on more demanding games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghostwire Tokyo, Cyberpunk 2077. It only shows up when playing those specific games listed above and using VLC. The other times it works like a charm. I haven't had any other problem with it except this one. I've tried connecting my laptop to another monitor to see if it's a hardware problem, turns out the second monitor did the same thing at the same time as the first one, which leads me to believe its a software thing. So far I've tried(off the top of my head): Reinstalling windows 10 from scratch (again) Updating every single driver from my pc and updating windows 10 Changing the Physx processor used to the RTX 2070 Playing the games in fullscreen, windowed mode, changing the resolution, changing the frame rate, changing the graphics settings overall including Vsync. Disabling VT-D via Bios (it was off by default) Enabling G-Sync for fullscreen AND windowed mode Lowering my voltage (It never heated up while playing those games) Uninstalling the Nvidia drivers and then rolling back to a previous version(442.74) Installing all the drivers from the laptop manufacturer's website Starting the games with Geforce experience Unplugging my HDMI Running the games in administrator mode, compatibility mode Disabling every single overlay including the Discord and the Steam one Going into event viewer to see what might be causing the problem (i couldn't figure it out, there doesn't seem to show any problem before i hard resetted my pc, looking at the timestamps) I've seen some other people relating this black screen problem to a faulty Xbox controller, however I don't have an Xbox controller or any controller whatsoever connected to my laptop. I've been searching the internet for months now for a solution to this problem and it seems every forum thread i find is left unanswered. Please help me out, I'm not a tech savy person and I know it seems like a small problem but I'd really like to play some of these games with my friends and use this laptop to the fullest of its capabilities.

Hi, Since yesterday I'm having a problem with explorer.exe not starting when I'm logging into my Windows 10 account. I have to start it manually with task manager. I've checked theHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon in Registry Editor, and the Shell data is explorer.exe. Also tried to do the commands as shown in the screenshot (somebody on the Microsoft rosums reccomended that), but still isnt working. I had to to these in PowerShell, because for some reason I can not open Command Prompt (It just doesnt open when i try to). When I try to open System Restore so i could try restoreing it to a version from a week ago or smthng it drops me an error that Windows cant get access to a file because i might not have the authorization (C:\Windows\system32\SystemProperitiesProtextion.exe). Ive scanned the system with kaspersky, says theres no errors or viruses detected. Any idea what is goign on?

So my problem is that my main monitor which is connected via display port to my GPU (1080 Ti) randomly says no input detected and goes black. Some Background: My secondary monitor that is connected via HDMI to the same GPU works perfectly fine without any disconnections. I have tried swapping my primary monitor to another pc and it works fine without any disconnection issues. This problem has been persistent over several months now despite several clean GPU driver fresh installs. The cable is inserted correctly and changing the cable to another port does not stop the monitor disconnecting) I am honestly stuck for ideas on what the problem is, especially since the problem seems to be intermittent and not brought on by any specific task (it happens in games, idling on the desktop, YouTube etc). The problem seems to be getting worse too as for the last few days the monitor will only find a signal for 5 seconds or so before going black and stating no signal input again. Unplugging the DisplayPort or power cable and plugging it in again will result in the monitor displaying as normal again for afew seconds before it again loses connection and black screens. This is all while the secondary monitor works perfectly over HDMI. I'm going mad honestly I don't know what's happening!

Recently, my PC has been having the "Display driver failed to start" error. The screen would also go black when I would start any 3D game, and sometimes it would reboot, or I could still hear sounds from the game until I restart it manually. Over time, it turned into the screen going black while browsing the web or watching a movie (still probably power hungry tasks, as I always have 40+ Chrome tabs open). In the last couple days, the PC would sometimes not even start at all. I decided to revisit the issue later, and now that I got to it, it wouldn't start again. The PC is connected to a socket strip for power, with around 4 other devices plugged in there too. After failing to start the PC, I unplugged one of the other devices from the socket strip (just a USB hub, that didn't even have any of its switches on, just a small LED), and the moment I do that, the PC just turns on. About a week before noticing problems with the PC, I also noticed that my phone (charging from a different socket strip) wouldn't charge if my smartwatch was charging from the same strip, although that is not the case anymore. I am wondering whether it is indeed the lack of power in the sockets, and whether I can check that somehow myself without any specialized tools, and whether these issues are even connected and there is also a problem with my drivers (which I already attempted to update and reinstall). And just what could I do in general to get to understand the problem better. More importantly, I would like to know whether I should avoid using the PC until the problem is fixed. Can the lack of power cause some kind of damage? I don't know whether there have been any new electrical appliances in the house, as I'm sharing it with a few people, and have no idea what are they doing in their rooms. My system: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Zotac GeForce GTX 1070TI 8GB Mini 16GB RAM (Corsair) a 5400 RPM HDD (4TB), a SATA SSD (1TB) and an M.2 (250GB) (all Western Digital) Corsair Vengeance 550W Bronze + PSU Asus TUF B450 M Plus Gaming Motherboard I live in the Netherlands, so its 220 V in the sockets, in case that matters. Hi, I've recently updated to build 2004; regarding to that my screen started to turn black for few seconds everytime i press start, windows shortcut (win+s etc.), open libreOffice or some other apps. May this be an issue from gpu drivers side, or is it just messy windows again? What shall i do to avoid this? Thanks, please send help, it is driving me crazy as hell :D
