  1. I have my Gigabyte M27U connected to my 16" MacBook Pro 2021 with a single USB-C cable carrying display, keyboard/mouse passthrough, and ~18W passthrough charging. At seemingly random times (I cannot figure out a pattern, sometimes within minutes of plugging it in, sometimes after hours), one of two things happens: 1) The M27U will go black, however it does not disconnect. The charging/keyboard/mouse passthrough still works and I can still move the mouse over to that area, I just can't see it. So the computer thinks there is still a second display. 2) The connection completely cuts out and disconnected everything, then reconnects on its own and is back up and running shortly after. This happened with the original and the replacement Newegg sent me after I complained about this issue, so I don't think it's a broken unit. This is extremely disappointing because I love the monitor otherwise. Here is some troubleshooting I have tried: - This issue still happens when the USB-C cable is connected to any port on the laptop. - This issue doesn't happen when I use any other type of display connector (HDMI, DisplayPort). - When I connect video separately and just use USB-C for keyboard/mouse/charging, the USB-C connection still cuts out randomly but video does not. - It does not seem like this issue happens when connected to a windows computer, although there is no way to confirm this for sure (I just had it connected for a while and it didn't happen). I cannot update the firmware because it seems like that requires the OSD sidekick, which exists for the M27Q and the M28U on Gigabyte's site but not the M27U?? Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this and if there is anything I can do about it? And if not, do you think the same problem would happen with the M28U? I am thinking about switching it out for that one.
  2. Hello everyone. about 2 years ago i bought this used PC. Here are the specs: CPU: i5-9400F Ram: 8x2 (16GB) ddr4 2400hz XPG AData Motherboard: Asus TUF B365M-Plus Gaming PSU: Xigmatek X-Power 600w also there is a small speaker in the MB that beeps every time it Posts. . so the problem is that ever since i bought this PC i had this problem whenever i clean it or move it or unplug/plug something it would not post when i try to turn it on and all fans spin to life but i get a black screen and no beeps and non of the peripherals turn on it does that often and i try everything to fix it and it always works after 1-5 Hours of troubleshooting but the problem is that i do so much to fix it that i don’t know what i did right that fixed it. it works for as long as “no one disturbs it’s atmosphere” as in never hit the table or or move the pc around. while troubleshooting i do the following: disconnect all peripherals and cables (including monitor cable) and remove CMOS Battery and press the power button many times to discharge all static and “leftover power” and keep repeating while trying something new each time like checking and repluging power cords and such things but im sure it’s internal. eventually it works but i still don’t know what i did right and what the cause of the problem is now it did it again and im desperate to know the cause. Please help.
  3. I'm asking on behalf of a friend. He's recently been facing a black screen issue, whenever he plays GPU-intensive games like Horizon Zero Dawn, Genshin Impact, RDR2. However, this black screen doesn't occur when he plays games like Paladins or COD4: Modern Warfare. This problem doesn't happen all the time. Whenever he starts a game and walks around the scene for 5-10 minutes, the FPS starts decreasing and the game stutters. after 10-15sec his PC goes into a black screen. However, the CPU and case fans are still spinning. And there's no way out of that black screen until he force restarts it. His GPU driver and everything is UpTodate , so it must be a hardware issue. But we're not sure which one it is. His PC specs are as follows: "Ryzen 5 3600 CPU 16GB (8+8) RAM GTX 1660 Ti GPU MSI B450M-A PRO MAX Thermaltake Litepower 550W PSU" Temps are within limit <75C, Even though I'm suspecting the PSU but we're not sure, Any idea what is causing this issue?
  4. Ok, so I've seen a few similar threads, but no definitive answer... Built this pc only weeks ago with brand new parts, did all the usual set up, updated BIOS, installed drivers etc... all working fine, then the first time I have the system running 3 monitors for more than 5 minutes, main monitor goes black. Odd part is, the pc still recognised the monitor as connected, the other 2 monitors still acted as though the display extended to the 1st monitor, and the 1st monitor was still shown in display settings. When it happens, the monitor's power button doesn't do anything, it remains lit (in white as though it's awake, instead of amber as though it was asleep) and the only way to get it running again is to disconnect the monitor's power and then reconnect. I've been troubleshooting for 2 days straight, attempts as follows: Restarted Unplugged and restarted Swapped cables (same monitor went black) Updated BIOS Windows update Checked event log (nothing significant) Tested monitor with another pc Sfc test (no issues) Memtest diagnostic (no errors) DDU then clean driver install EC reset Haven't had any luck; the screen blacks out anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours after a boot, no consistency. I've run the pc with task manager and other monitoring software open to try and spot CPU, GPU and RAM performance at the time of a black out, but nothing significant there... CPU temps average about 65°C and GPU about 55°C from what I've seen. Curiously, I had no issues when only 2 monitors were connected, but my GPU should be able to handle 4! Hardware: Asus Pro Art X670e creator wifi Ryzen 9 7900x (BIOS Versionm 1904) AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX G Skill Trident z5 2x 32Gb DDR5 4800MHz Be Quiet 1000W PSU HP 23xi monitors x3 DP to HDMI cables x2 HDMI to HDMI cable x1 If someone has a fix, I will be forever grateful!
  5. I just came back from a one month vacation. Pc has not been plugged in while I was away. I boot up my PC and try to play some games, but whenever I open steam, epic launcher, Corsair Icue, my PC suddenly just shuts down. No BSOD, no error message, just a black screen. reliability monitor shows that the program I was currently using (steam, epic games launcher, so on) was the cause of the shut down. I think it might be a hardware issue since my PC was running smoothly before I went on vacation. I've tried the following: 1 stick of ram, tried both. Clear CMOS System restore. I managed to run a game on 1 stick, thinking that I fixed the issue, but as soon as I started testing the other stick of ram and swapping them around (even when clearing CMOS, every time) it seems like it just keeps crashes again. Anyone know what I can try before replacing my entire PC? Specs: Ryzen 9 7900x msi mpg x670e carbon wifi 32GB Corsair Dominator DDR5 Ram (2 sticks of 16gb 6000 mhz) MSI RTX 3090 2TB Samsung 980 PRO Corsair RM1000X PSU
  6. Hello, my PC keeps restarting to a black screen with no response from the keyboard and mouse, although all the fans are spinning. Sometimes, it only restarts 1-3 times. Yesterday, it restarted 14 times. Sometimes, when I manually restart, the PC will restart to a black screen. Here is the list of benchmarks I have conducted, but it still keeps restarting to a black screen. I tried the built-in Windows 10 memory checker mdsched.exe, but no memory problems were found based on the scan results**.** Swap the RAM using a different RAM slot. Benchmark the GPU using Furmark (1920x1080 Fullscreen, Anti-Aliasing 8x MSAA) & Heaven Benchmark (30 minutes total), PC did not restart when the benchmark was ongoing. For Furmark, the GPU state was at 100% and 60-65°. Build the PC again (Pulling the Motherboard, GPU, PSU) and re-do the cable management. Reinstalling the Windows 10 Operating System. Changing SSD of Windows Operating System. Changing USB slot of mouse & keyboard. Resetting the BIOS and clearing the CMOS. Reliability Monitor is no help. Just getting a critical event with a summary of "Windows was not properly shutdown" due to being forced shutdown via turning off the UPS after getting a black screen. PC Specs (Both CPU and GPU at idle are at 45°) Processor: Ryzen 5 5600g (APU is disabled in the BIOS) GPU: Asus RTX 3060Ti 8gb Motherboard: Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming k7 (BIOS is F51i) RAM: 16gb 8x2 2666mhz PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze (with PSU Sleeves 24 pins, 8 pins and 6+2 pins) Keyboard: Logitech G512 Mouse: Logitech G502 I haven't tried to do yet: Try a different RAM or use only 1 RAM stick. Using the PC with just the APU of Ryzen 5 5600g. Try a different keyboard and mouse. Try a different monitor or HDMI cable. Try a different GPU (Though I don't have any spare GPU) Try a different PSU Your help is much appreciated.
  7. This is a follow up post for previous thread regarding CMOS reset issue. A new problem rises. When using both ram slot my pc keep showing no signal and stuck at EZ debug light for ram. I have tried both slot using single slot setting and also tried swapping both ram in the same ram slot and it work as intended, no issue. Here's my general info of my specs Mobo: MSI B550m Pro (2 ram slots) GPU: RTX 2060 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Ram: KLEVV 2x8gb
  8. After a CMOS reset by plugging out the battery I've been experiencing black screen (no signal). Below are the steps that I have done 1. Plug out all cord (power, usb, etc.) 2. remove ram and gpu 3. remove CMOS batterry and jump JB10 using a screwdriver 4. Press power button for 30 second to remove any power in the mobo 5. Wait 5 Minute before reinstalling the CMOS battery 6. Install gpu and ram back (I've tried to swap ram slot) I also have read multiple forum post regarding this issue. And some might say that it reset video output from GPU to iGPU. But in my case my CPU does not come with iGPU. How do I fix this problem if it is does occur Here's my setup: Mobo: MSI B550m Pro GPU: RTX 2060 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Ram: KLEVV 8gbx2 Any help would be much appreciated

  10. Hello, I currently upgraded my PCs Motherboard, GPU, CPU and heat sink. After this upgrade, I have been unable to play many games that I have installed and was able to play before. I have ran games successfully on CPU (disabling NVIDIA GPU from Device Manager > Display Adapters) I am getting an error during crashes with nvlddmkm as seen in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System (Included in screenshot) Note, this only happens with certain games, but not others. Is there any advice as to what I can check to verify what this issue is? Thanks so much for any advice!!
  11. Hello everyone. As the title says, im having this connection issue with my hdmi cable to the tv. Usually the fix would be to buy a hdmi 2.1 cable. However..... I've also the LG C3. Before i used to game at it when i was back home. I used the same hdmi cable in the C3 to the pc and it worked with no issues whatsoever. So i dont believe the issue is actually the cable here. Anyone have any ideas what else could this be ?
  12. Context: Recently I bought a used Rx 6600 to add amd fluid motion frames technology on top of my rtx 3090 output. To be precise I have replicated the dlss + afmf "mod" that was showcased on some articles and from some YouTubers, where you basically have your Nvidia card in the top pcie slot and your afmf capable amd card in the second slot, with the monitor you intend to play with connected to the AMD GPU so that you can actually generate frames at driver level. Problem: That all sounded great in my head until I actually received the card and first problem I notice is that without drivers the GPU gives no output, but I don't question too much what's happening and proceed to install drivers. After installing them the GPU works fine and I even do a quick shutdown and it still works, but as soon as i turn off the computer again for a longer time, about 10 minutes, the GPU goes almost completely dead, black screen again, 0mhz on core and memory clock, just the fans spinning and gives error 43 in windows device manager. When this happens (I did this 5 times already) I'm forced to reinstall drivers not once but twice to get it to post again and not because drivers get deleted, on the contrary, drivers are still there but the card refuses to boot unless I reinstall. Now at this point I was wondering if it's my motherboard, so I take the GPU out and try with another system, and I get the same exact behavior. Any suggestions? 13. I FIGURED IT OUT!!! I have been dealing with this for over 9 months with a BRAND NEW system I built following all of Linus Tech Tips videos. The system would just randomly crash from loading a game, all the way to being in the middle of a game and it crashes. I wasn't even playing graphically intensive games either! I had heard that it could be GPU, CPU, Motherboard, PSU, ... etc. I double checked everything in my PC... and I mean everything. I was 100% sure the GPU was fried and it was too late to return it. I had to swallow the pill of buying a new card in the middle of this bitcoin crap at the super high prices! It was about 2am my time and I was going to order the new card the next day when I decided to look for a fix. One. Last. Time. I found a very old thread, link below, that a guy was having the same issues. He did the exact same things I did and then some. He finally resorted to pulling the graphics card and taking apart and looking at it to see if there was anything noticeable. That's where the problem was!!!! The CHEAP way some of these cards are made, was causing this issue. More specifically, there was little to no thermal compound on the actual GPU, it was all on the board on the side of it. He cleaned it off, put it back together, and ..... Viola!! It ran fine! I did the same thing, also with the help of some of Linus' videos, and it fixed mine as well!! Just to note I'm running a Red Devil Radeon RX 480, so this is not a cheap card but also not a super high end card either. Hope this helps somebody save a little bit of money and not throw out their card when its just poor assembly. All credit goes to the guy that started the post in the link, without him I would not have figured it out. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/660409/screen-goes-black-and-gpu-fan-goes-to-max-speed-monitor-enters-powersaving-mode/
  14. So there I was....xmas right around the corner and I thought to myself, hey...lets upgrade the wifes computer. Out with the old Ryzen 3 3100, make way for the new Ryzen 5 5600x, get gone RX 570, make way for the new 7600...c yah 8g stick of ddr 4 3000 ram, here comes the new 16g ddr4 3600. Things were going swimmingly until i plugged it in annnnnd...nothing on the screen It was recommended I do a cmos reset, sorta made sense to me, new chip clean instal....so I did it....annnnnd nothing on the screen Could be a driver issue im thinking, so put the old vid card in annnnnnd nothing on screen Oh damn im in trouble sets in so I put everything i took out back in annnnnnnd nothing on screen. What im thinking happened (feel free to correct me if im wrong) is I needed a bios update to run the 5600x, and resetting the cmos wiped the bios update that allowed the board to run the ryzen 3? Maybe? At any rate here I am with no display no matter configuration of old and new parts i put in the case. Wifes home now and im in hot water...any help you guys can offer would be much appreciated MOBO is a a320 from asrock (no post lights or speaker and no q flash)
  15. Hey everyone and anyone that can help. I am having a new issue to me, that id be appreciative for some support. I'd be playing the game and the screen would go black, entered windowed mode, forcing me to click on the window to go back into fullscreen. The game I've been playing is EAFC 24. The above issue happens and I'd lose control of my players and when I make the game go fullscreen again I get major speed up lag etc, but I joined a mate on lego fortnite and I *think* it happened again but am unsure as I was already clicking the mouse and couldn't tell if it did happen. I have read online that the issues could be: out of date graphics drivers, power supply issues, display port (or cables) and many more. Geforce experience says I have up to date drivers, all my connections are in their ports correctly, cables undamaged etc. Do any of you know why this could be happening from a hardware standing and have any troubleshooting ideas? Or is this a game issue? EA help tried to help but none of what they said has helped. Sorry for the long post, but I'm desperate for help and wanted to be clear of the issue. If anyone would have any support... I thank you. I hope to wake up in the morning with help to try.
  16. I have recently setup a waveshare monitor to use a sensor display screen. I have setup a sensor panel with Aida64 and all works great. However everytime I start my PC, I only get a black screen. I can see the PC recognises the monitor (display settings and NVIDIA Control Panel), however nothing I do gets a display on the screen. The only thing I have been able to do to get a display is to unplug the USB-C cable from the monitor and plug it back in again. Almost instantly, my sensor panel appears and all working. I have tried different USB ports on the back of the motherboard and almost bought new HDMI and USB to USB-C cables in case it was the cables that came with the monitor, still no difference. All other USB devices work perfectly, except a similar issue with my Corsiar Virtuoso headphones. I can see iCue and windows recognises the headphones, but I can't get any sound from them until I unplug them and then plug them back in again. PC details are: MB: Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero GPU: Asus ROG Strix LC 3090 Ti OC Power management is set to GameTurbo (High Performance) and USB selective suspend setting is disabled. Waveshare support not being a lot of help at this stage but still sending emails to and from to troubleshoot.
  17. One of my friends is having an issue with her PC. Here's the specs before I continue on: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: RTX 3080 FE on vertical mount w/ PCIe 4.0 compatible riser cable Mobo: ASRock B550m Pro 4 RAM: 48GB (x2 8gb x2 16gb) don't know brand but will update when I find out, I know all sticks are the same brand Storage: 1TB Samsung 980 m.2 SSD PSU: 750w pretty sure its Corsair 80+ Gold full modular The issue she's having is that after a period of time, which seems to be completely random, her PC crashes straight to black screen. For a while we thought it was the CPU since for some reason it was pinned to its maximum clock speed at all times unless Task Manager was open. PC is still crashing from time to time though. Crashes happen regardless of the application from web browsing to heavy games regardless of settings. Tried running it without the riser cable and it still crashes. The fact it crashes directly to black screen makes me think it could be a faulty PSU? Biggest issue is she's in another country so manually troubleshooting is impossible and bringing my extra parts to test against hers isn't possible. EDIT: Tested each RAM stick individually, still crashes out to blackscreen. So either all four ram sticks are busted or its not a ram problem. If anyone has a suggestion regarding the CPU issue with it being pinned to max clock speed all the time. Already manually set the power settings to minimum 5% and max of 99%
  18. I built my pc around 2 months ago and everything has been working fine for over a month but recently ive had this problem where my pc boots but i get no signal to my monitor. The pc could work as normal for a week but one day it would not output display, often a restart by holding power button down til shutdown and restarting would fix this. Sometimes when this did not work i unplugged all cables and left the pc unplugged for a while and it would post as normal. Now ive had 2 days where i cant get it to output display. Ive tried several versions of gpu drivers but none helped. Now that i get no display i have tried reseating ram and gpu, made sure all cables are connected and tried 3 different monitors with different hdmi cables. Also tried cmos reset. Now the question is if my gpu is dead after just 2 months? Or did the drivers mess up something? Anybody know why this is happening or what caused it? 20. Hello. Thanks in advance to any help. I just built this new PC. It turns on and I get the black screen with the cursor/dash on the top left corner. I know you usually click ALT+CTRL+DEL and spam F2 or Delete. However my usb ports aren’t sending signal for some reason. There is power in the USBs I tried a lil light and it turns on however my keyboard and mouse doesn’t work. I’ve tried resetting the cmos. What should I do now? Please help.
  21. background: Purchased my Powerspec G472 from Microcenter (with 1 year warranty whether that makes me a sucker or not) and it has run perfectly fine aside from what *seemed* to be high temps (i now understand that’s just the 13900KF pulling lots of power) issue: ~3 weeks ago I use a motorized blower (nothing crazy powerful) to dust out my pc. Since then, I’ve been receiving completely random black screens. If that holds any relation to the issue I have no clue, but it was my first time cleaning it out and had no issues prior. “The computer rebooted from a bugcheck. Error code: 0x00000139 Kernel_Security_Check_Failure” solutions attempted: - ran windows memory test with 0 flaws - fully reset windows (via settings) - reinstalled graphics drivers - brought to Microcenter their diagnostics said all hardware was functioning as intended i paid $100 for them to reimage windows Picked up the computer from Microcenter tonight, and played about 3 hours before it crashed again with the same error code. The longest it’s gone without crashing was 2 days in the last ~3 weeks. Do I try my luck at Microcenter again or screw the warranty and go somewhere else? Absolutely any advice on this will be monumental as this has become a major thorn in my side.
  22. Hello, So I have a Gigabyte B560 DS3H AC Y-1 motherboard. I have formatted my flash drive to FAT32 and it has 15gb. I install the correct version for the bios update and extracted and moved it to the flash drive. I try to go into Q-flash to download it and the pop up is still there. Also I keep getting black screen's randomly when I play a game or even just try to log into the pc. When I turn on the pc there is no display. I have all my drivers up to date and I keep getting the dumb black screens. I don't know if it's apart of the motherboard problem with no updating bios but I just cant find help:( I try everything I see and still nothing. I have a RTX 3070TI, 32Gb's RAM and intel i7 10700KF. If someone can help me I would really appreciate it thank you.! Also the Bios Update is F6 From Nov 2021 So I am behind a lot.
  23. Whenever I start playing a game, my GPU drivers hard crash, my whole screen turns black and doesn't ever recover. I must restart my computer then go into device manager and reenable my GPU for everything to function normally again. Then I either just try it again for the same exact result to happen, or I DDU. Countless times I've tried the Latest Radeon drivers, I've reverted to older drivers, I've tried the pro drivers, I've tried the ones windows auto installs, and it doesn't ever change the outcome. I've reinstalled chipset drivers, I've ran MemTest to see if my RAM was the culprit and ram integrity came out perfectly fine. Any logs I check don't tell me anything useful or its always just "Unknown". I've reseated everything. I've tried disabling MPO , And just recently I've tried the Radeon developer tool suite's crash analysis but I cant make anything of it. these crashes happen over and over and over has it has been for over half a year now. There are periods where it can go away for a bit and comes back shortly after. I've even completely wiped my windows installation a few times, I've tried it on windows 10 and 11, still no improvement. these issues are not limited to one software or game, I've observed them throughout many different kinds of games as well as just watching videos in my browser. I've read articles with issues that are similar to mine, but to no avail. It may sound like some sort of latent hardware failure, but I still have reason to believe it isn't. I run various stress tests and benchmarks from 3D mark to Furmark and not a single issue comes up. Temps are good, clocks are normal and stable, no artifacting, no crashes when benchmarking even for long stress tests. I've never experienced any kind or variation of artifacting or otherwise reason or symptom that it would be failing hardware. And while major, this is the only symptom. I am completely out of ideas, and at the level the issue is at my gaming rig has no real use beyond browsing the web. I apologize for rambling, I am just at a dead end. If you'd like me to share any files to help troubleshoot further just ask and I will see what I can do My current Specs are: OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit MB: TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI (BIOS 1813, Latest as of Nov 9th 2023, Running default BIOS settings) CPU: Ryzen 9 7900x (No Overclock or other modification) RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32GB (2x16) (No EXPO or other modification) GPU: Reference PowerColor Radeon RX6900XT (No Overclock or other modification) PSU: Corsair RM850X (850W) Display Setup Primary: Asus VG32VQ1B (32" 1440p 165Hz HDR OFF) Secondary: Dell SE2222H (22" 1080p 60Hz HDR N/A) Other: Valve Index HMD
