system requirements for CallOfDuty Black Ops III for PC AMD side sucks
MaxBeast4Z posted a blog entry in help tips and tricks
does system requirements for call of duty black ops 3 on the AMD side sucks the recommended requirement for the AMD processor is a AMD Phenom II x4 810 I have a AMD Phenom II x4 955 and it's not the Black Edition. Let's just say running the game on that processor sucks and I'm also using an R9 280x and I can't even put the game on Ultra settings because the processor is pinned at 100% in low setting-

So after narrowing it down to a couple of 1070's: Zotac Amp! Edition, Gigabyte G1, Asus Strix, and one of the EVGA cards. The main issue is with the EVGA cards. What is the difference between the types? As I see there are 6 possible types that I would be looking at getting. 1. ACX 3.0 - $420 2. Founder Edition - $447 ($416 if bought from Zotac) 3. FTW ACX 3.0 - $420 4. FTW DT ACX 3.0 - $410 5. SC ACX 3.0 - $410 6. SC ACX 3.0 Black Edition $390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7. Zotac AMP! Edition - $402 8. Gigabyte G1 - $410 9. Asus Strix - $450 I know that the Founders Edition is the default nvidia card without anything added, the ACX 3.0 is the default EVGA card. Are they just different clock speeds or more? At the moment on amazon, the super clocked black edition is $20 less than the normal super clocked. Honestly all of their pricing seems pretty random. What is the best EVGA card? Which of the cards I listed is the best? What is your recommendation?

I have a Phenom II x4 955 inside an M4A78T-E motherboard. All I have ever seen about this CPU regards a "Black Edition". But I've also seen articles dismiss the BE and simply refer to it as the x4 955. As I understand it, the Black Edition has an unlocked multiplier, meaning it's overclockable...or more overclockable? My chip is overclockable, I've run and posted a CPUZ score to https://valid.x86.fr/h4kh9m and nowhere does it mention it being a Black Edition. I also can't seem to find any articles differentiating an x4 955 vs x4 955BE. Am I missing something?

Hello everyone! So, I was an enthusiast (on a budget) (1998-2011), and then "because LIFE" I stopped being an enthusiast(on a budget) (2012-2016). And now I am an enthusiast(on a budget) again...with a question: I recently built an all-new rig, which I'm very happy with. However, I'm not happy about the fact that my previous "Old Faithful" rig is now literally just lying in a cardboard box doing nothing. It's a Phenom II X4 965 BE, which as I recall has a TDP of 140W, which sucks as far as power consumption goes. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips for potentially underclocking this thing for lower power consumtion so I can use it in the living room without having to worry about 2 full-power PCs eating all my electricty? I have been overclocking since I was 12, but I have never really tried underclocking, so I would really appreciate some info!

Hey! Im getting a new Computer! Changed my build 100 times, but I'm really unsure on what parts to get and have been overthinking the whole thing for nearly 2 months. My build: i7 4790k 16gb hyperx fury asus z97 pro gaming (yeah its red... but theres cashback on asus products(ends 10.10.2015)) WD black 1TB Samsung 256GB 850 evo Cooler master V1000 (going for CF next year) thermalright macho x2 NZXT H440 Razer Edition (green) (hope I didn't forget parts) I have 2 Questions: What R9 390 model? (XFX, MSI or Sapphire) Is a 390 + 390X CF setup better than a 390 + 390 one? Or does the 390 limit the 390X? 1) I've heard (nearly) only good things about all 3 cards, but which one would you get? (I'd like to OC it as high as possible) XFX R9 390 DD Black Edition MSI R9 390 8G (doesn't go well with my green case, and is pretty thick(might have problems with cooling a CF setup)) Sapphire R9 390 Nitro 2) If I CF a 390 and a 390X will I have more power than a 2-way 390 setup? or the 390 somehow limit the 390x? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have Thermaltake V4 black edition case for some time, but as I replaced old mATX motherboard for new ATX there is just no place to put cables (as the mb now cover all the holes), so I want to mod this case (as I dont have money right now to get high end case but I do have free time). 1st. I want to cut out new holes in aluminum next to the board it self (probably gonna just use drill to make holes and pinch it out, then sand it down). 2nd I want to mod back door(it is too tight fit, I cant really put cables in there. Here I run out of ideas, I thought to cut out back door and put plexiglass panel on some 1 cm speacers, but That would leave 1 cm crack that i dont really know how to close. Did somebody done something simular or have ideas how this can be done? Thanks.

So I have done my research on this problem, in hope that I would come across a solution that would work but I was not successful, so I am here. The problem is that no more that 20 mins ago I had my computer running perfectly on my test bench to make sure everything was in working order. My system is: Cpu: I7-4930K @ stock Cpu cooler: Corsair H100i Mobo: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition Ram: 2x4GB of kingston genesis Gpu: Gigabyte gtx 970 G1 gaming Hdd: 750gb WD blue and I had just installed windows 8.1 pro on the HDD, got the drivers for the gpu installed among the other essentials. I left the computer on the bench for about 2-3 days just in case something arose in that time frame. Nothing had so, I felt it was okay to dismantle the computer from the test bench and put it into the computer case (Corsair 750D). After getting everything connected to the mobo, double checking the connections, I clicked the start button. But this time round, it wouldn't boot let alone post. I went and looked at the post code re-out. And the post code that I read was 00. Then I went to google and see if there was a solution, found a couple people saying to take it out of the case and try again on a non-conductive surface. So I did just that, right now, and it still is reading out 00. I also have tried moving around my ram to see if it had to do anything with the problem but sadly not. I haven't tried re-seating the cooler and/or the cpu yet but will do so if needed. The reason I the title reads, "My last hope", in my research I found people saying to the OP of the post that they should RMA the board. And this is my issue, I bought this Mobo used, my budget being limited but i needed a certain kind of power, I resorted to ebay.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and have found a sustainable solution. Or if I'm on track with my findings. I recently purchased a GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK mobo and 4790k during black friday, and just installed everything last night. I noticed that out of the box I was getting crazy CPU temps (like 70-80C while opening applications or other basic tasks). I still only have the intel stock fan installed so initially I thought that that might be the issue, but after looking into it I found all these forum posts with people who were having the same problem as me. (I intend to purchase an H100i or something like that soon, it's really not the issue here though) It looks like Intel posted some information about how to solve the issue. https://communities.intel.com/message/260210#260210 They seem to say that the MOBO has it's default settings all out of whack. I implemented theses settings last night but I was only hitting a max of 3.4 Ghz (I wasn't able to adjust the core voltage through intel's program for some reason, didn't have time to do it through the bios last night, still this is a bandaid I think for a different issue). I guess also updating the bios and or reseting the CMOS helps the issue.... I've also read that due to the new heat spreader thingy it might take a few weeks for the spreader to "set in" properly. Someone reported that after a few weeks of use their temps dropped substantially. I'm going to be trying all these things but I'm antsy at work and was wondering if anyone else had these issues and if you resolved them

So guys, I was wondering... 2 years ago, I bought an XFX 7970 DD Black Edition card. Real solid card, had a lot of fun with and everything. But after some time I thought about going multi-monitor. SO, I thought it'll be a good idea to just add another 7970. But I was unfortunate because it's stocks were depleted. So without further ado I have this question were I need some support on. Will it be possible to get a Crossfire working between those two cards? (Without any problems) Some extra info on the cards: My main card: http://xfxforce.com/en-us/products/amd-radeon-hd-7900-series/amd-radeon-hd-7970-double-dissipation-edition-fx-797a-tdjv (it's clocked on 1000mhz atm) The new one: http://xfxforce.com/en-gb/products/amd-radeon-r9-series/amd-radeon-r9-280x-black-double-dissipation-edition-r9-280x-tdbd Read about the possibility and the fact that they're almost the same but I really want to make sure before buying anything. So please, do me a favor and help a brother out

Ok So im planning to build a computer and set to order in my parts but now im stuck on RAM, i am planning to use Asus Rampage IV Black Edition motherboard with intel i7 4930k; i want to use 32 gigs of corsair dominator platinum quad channel (at, atleast 1800mhz) but some are saying they are incompatible with x79 boards (or mine in general) and some apparently use it. i would like to use dominator platinum mostly for the look of it but can anyone shed some light on this, can i use them? if so can you link a page or product number; but if its incompatible could you reccomend a good 32gig 1800(+) quad channel RAM i could use? Cheers!

So I'm upgrading my Comp (on a budget of £140ish) and need to replace the CPU as my current CPU the AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz will bottoleneck a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr and also want to replace the motherboard for sli config in the future. The parts I am thinking of getting are: CPU: AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core 3.5/4.1GHz Motherboard: Msi 970a-g46 Will this be a good combination that will allow a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr and future sli to perform well without any 'bottlenecking'. If you know of a better more powerful combination of CPU/Motherboard, Please tell me as I want to have the best setup with the money I have available to me. -Thanks!!

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a new mobo this week and there are 3 boards that really jump out at me so far: $165 - Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128723&cm_re=gigabyte_z97-_-13-128-723-_-Product $175 - Gigabyte GA-G1.Sniper Z97: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128706&cm_re=G1.Sniper_Z97-_-13-128-706-_-Product $240 - ASUS Maximus VII Hero: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132125&cm_re=z97_asus-_-13-132-125-_-Product The UD3H-BK has a nice 5 year warranty and seems very reliable with the 168 hours of server burn in tests The G1.Sniper is a standard 3 year warranty but seems like it has really awesome onboard Audio features, The Hero VII is one of those boards that just looks totally tits and seems to have a ton of great features BUT it is more than I'd like to fork out on a mobo and is it really worth the premium I would pay for it? What do you guys think about these boards or maybe there is something else in the $150 - $200 range you guys think would be more suitable? I do like the Black/Red themes as it would fit the rest of my rig nicely but it's not necessarily a deal breaker, I use a single gpu GTX 670 (waiting on 8XX series), 4770k, H100i, 16gb ram. I've always used ASUS but I've heard good things about Gigabyte.

So I wanted to overclock my CPU for a while now. It's an AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition, with an initial clock of 3.2 Ghz. I never overclocked my processor before and I don't want to fry it, but I feel about a 400 Mhz overclocking is nescessary so that I can get more out of my graphics card, and I think it's not a dangerous OC. The cooler is an air cooler, more specifically a Cooler Master Hyper TX3. My motherboard is a Gigabyte 970A-D3. So main questions: How far is it safe to go? When should I increase the voltage and by how much? Do I have to update the Bios beforehand? I think that's it for now. Sorry if there is a similar thread but overclocking to me is a very scary subject.
