Hey LTT Forums! Around a year or so ago I posted regarding upgrading from my 7770, but never got around to actually doing so. I now have plans to upgrade my entire computer. The computer I'm currently using is still the same: "I've had my 7770 since 2013, and I'm looking for an upgrade. The case I'm currently using is a BitFenix Prodigy, and I have a Athlon X4 750K with 8 gigs of ram and a 430 watt PSU. I game on a single 1080p 60hz monitor which I am very satisfied with, but use 2 monitors for my every-day use." I mostly play esports titles like Overwatch and Legend Leeeg. I also have on-and-off obsessions with modding Bethesda games. Skyrim still runs fairly well, but Fallout 4 poops the bed as you could imagine. Path of Exile is hit-or-miss, as I can get smooth 60fps at random moments, but experience a crapton of stuttering at seemingly random intervals. In terms of day-to-day usage, I do as much as the typical applied math major would do: MatLab, RStudio being the two biggest. The current plan of attack is as follows: PCPartPicker part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3wBnhq Price breakdown by merchant: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3wBnhq/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1500X 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($188.89 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($77.98 @ Newegg) Memory: Crucial - Ballistix Sport LT 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($59.88 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card ($122.76 @ Jet) Total: $449.51 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-05-24 18:57 EDT-0400 Any input will be greatly appreciated EDIT: Budget should be ~500$ USD. BitFenix Prodigy M Space.Configuration Help
Beckyisponymad posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So Im tempted to move down from a large ATX case (H440) to an M Atx case, I already have M atx motherboard however even with all the info online im struggling to wrap my head around the space and configuration inside the case. Firstly I would like a water cooler preferably an NZXT kraken x51/52 (however I have a feeling the tubing is too long so if anyone has an RGB software controlled watercooler lmk). Is there anywhere one can be mounted. Secondly GPU clearance, I have the asus 1070 strix OC, would this fit? Thirdly, I see the case takes a full atx psu but can sfx psus be used to save space? And also the drive mounting bracket looks like it can be removed but can it as Id want to get a window side pannel and if removed is there anywhere to install 2.5 SSDs or is m.2 needed? To anyone answering any of these questions THANKS Edit: water cooler doesnt have to RGB as long as it looked nice -

To anyone who uses a prodigy with a window... How much does having one affect your GPU temps? I'm thinking of getting one, but im unsure and worried the GPU wont get enough fresh air and throttle. I have the black version of the case and my GPU is a MSI R9 270. Thanks in advance

Hi guys, I've decided to go up for a BitFenix Prodigy build. Now I've only got one doubt to be clarified. I know the Noctua NH-D14 cooler can easily fit inside the case, I've seen many builds with it, but I was wondering, will the new NH-D15 fit as well? It's only 5mm higher and 10mm wider, but, since I'm planning to put 2 Noctua NF-P12 PWM fans on the top which height is of 25mm, I don't know if there's enough space for both the cooler and the top fans. Does anyone have an answer?^^

Project Juiced: My goal for this computer was to create a quiet pint-sized gaming PC that's easy to transport and is well rounded. This was my first attempt at a few of these case mods, and overall I love the finished result. The Parts: -Bitfenix Prodigy Atomic Orange -Asrock z77e-ITX -i5 3570k -Asus GTX660 DirectCUii OC -8gb g.skill Sniper RAM 1866 cas9 -Antec Kuhler 620 -Corsair CX500 (although try and recognize it at the end) -120gb OCZ Vertex 3 -ancient 120gb 7200rpm hard drive pulled from my grandma's dell (on it's way out) -120mm Cougar Vortex HDB fans (x4) - Corsai SP120 quiet edition fan -1 generic bitfenix 120mm case fan -1 240mm Phobya Brickly radiator grill -Modsmart kobra sleeving -Homedepot acrylic -LED lighting cable that came with a BestBuy giftcard -Silverstone 120mm dust filter -3m 4010 tape -u-channel -Windows 8 Pro Before I did any work: I just love this case! I based my entire rig off of it and bought one on release day from us.ncix I chose the asrock board of it's competitor from Asus due to aesthetics and $20. The asus board was blue and had that ugly board blocking my cables, The finished product: (even though few custom PCs are ever "finished") I was originally planning to drill 6 holes to the right of the grill and stick a fan controller behind it, then making a custom acrylic front panel. However, the controller looked too cluttered and I cracked the acrylic on the last cut :( so I gave up on the idea. I still think it looks fantastic. A look inside: I was going to pull out the power supply, but I forgot that I mounted the SSD with 3m 4010. That stuff is strong. A few other details: Here's the bottom of the power supply. Notice any changes? Using some sleeving I made a quick fix to a USB delete With the lights on: These things were free! I just run a hidden usb cable through the top. I hope you guys enjoyed seeing my build as much as I did making it. Feel free to ask me any questions below.

I have opened the box to make sure it was a product I've have to RMA. Custom milled right side panel, for an added Acrylic window. I threw in a free Scythe 4-Way fan controller, with original box because I've no use for it. If you are interested I'm selling it here Link Removed —Glenwing

So ive been planning this build for months now, and I'm finally getting to opportunity to buy all the parts and build it. I'm so excited its insane haha. This is actually my first personal build but ive helped so many of my friends build so i know what to do (thanks to the Ultimate Build Guides as well). My goal for this system is to be a powerful portable lan crusher and also for music production and mixing. Parts list: Intel i7 4770K Corsair H80i Asus Maximus VII Gene Kingston HyperX Fury Ram 8gb (2x4) Samsung 840 Evo SSD Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM MSI Twin Frozr 770 BitFenix Prodigy M/Phenom M Corsair RM 750 Total: $1363.11 USD So here's my rationale. Why the i7? I do A LOT of music rendering and i need more threads because (1) Getting my music out as quick as possible is important to me. (2) I also am editing my bands Kickstarter video and need the extra juice (3) i like to get the best i can get and (4) im impatient. The Kind of music i work with is like 60 gigs a song (full band and shit at like super high quality audio) so i just need it. Simple as that. The first thing people may look at funny is why such a high end motherboard? Well first of all its been a dream of mine to put anything ROG in a system and i know its reliable and just flat out works. Secondly with the Maximus VII, its has that cool supreme FX Impact sound card like the Maximus 6 Impact so i can SLI and still have super great sound. Me being a musician and doing audio work, this makes sense to me. I have a buddy who bought the Maximus 6 Impact and he does electronic music for fun and he loves it. Also Z97 allows me to have (A) SATA Express ( B ) I will be able to get Devil's Canyon and Broadwell on this board if i so choose and ( C ) i want to overclock the snot outta that I7. The Fury ram is really good ram for the money. I've used it in a friends build a few weeks ago and its frickin great. Ok so this is gonna take some explaining. The 770 will 100% be replaced later by dual 780 ti's. But why buy the 770 now? I only have 1300 and i need this PC nooowwww and also i have a cool plan I will most likely replace the 4770K with a 4790K when it comes out as well and I'll have two pretty high end parts lying around doing nothing. What to do? Build and ITX LAN Crusher of course!!!! The power supply will also be used in that system as i will HAVE to upgrade to a 850 watt PSU. Now what I'm on the fence about is the case. I need portability. It's essential and i decided that the BitFenix Prodigy or Phenom M is the way to go. However im torn between the two. The prodigy having the optical drive bay is great because i need it with a lot of stuff. But the Phenom just looks great and just seems like a sturdier case with a bit more cable management room. I'm leaning towards the prodigy but i dont know what to get honestly. What do you guys recommend? Overall i think its a nice build and im ready to pull the trigger but i just wanted to run it by the community before i purchase because i trust people's judgment here VS r/buildapc. I want to make sure im building the best PC for my money and seeing if my upgrade plan makes sense to everyone as well. It's weird but i just love building and i like to have the best of the best that i can get. Thanks everyone so much for your time and i look forward to your responses!

Hey guys i am here to ask for a pc build for $1600, i this pc would we my first build, this pc should be a bitfenix prodigy(mini itx build), Nvidia card( i don't want a hot card), liquid cooled like a h90,h80i or 120xl some like that with noctua fans, a good psu for overclocking and easy to route the cable, no OS i have windows 8.1,no peripherals and please suggest a good 23-25 inch monitor for $200 and a motherboard with a great sound so i don't need to by a DAC. thanks for reading.

Hello techtippers! I'm new here, although reading silently for a little while. I'm about to commit on a new build and I would like to know what you think about my choices, and any advice or comments would be great. Since in my mind I've been through about a million different iterations of it. Its mainly going to be a gaming rig, with some home video editing. My ideas for the bitfenix prodigy are that it would be possible to fit the 200mm phobya radiator at the front, and a slim 30mm, 240mm radiator in the roof. But I'm not sure of the clearance and dimensions yet, if anyone has tried this does it fit? Also you'll notice no GPU on there, I'm waiting to see what effect, if any the 9000 series cards will have on the market. A titan is just about in the budget, but would leave no more room for maneuverability. As I would probably want to get a decent new monitor too. Thank you in advance and sorry for the excel sheet. Oh and at the moment extra storage is not a problem since i keep most of my stuff on nas. ps I'll be making a build log to go with this once its underway! B)

This is my PC build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/IdN I use my PC for gaming, but also for my homework and browsing the web. When gaming, sound hardly matters to me, but when I'm watching netflix (with a speaker), typing a paper or browsing the web I just can't stand it. Because my GPU cooler is the worst possible for my Chassis, I had to put in a 200mm Bitfenix spectre pro so that it keeps reasonably cool, and the two loudest fans in my build are the GPU fans and the spectre pro. SO lately, I've been looking at a Kracken G10 setup. I have a budget of $100 Canadian with shipping before tax/rebates, and really can't go much higher. I'd like to know what the cheapest G10 setup is with a 120mm and 140mm closed-loop unit, as I really dont know much about the manufacturers and what's best.

What type of airflow do I want for a BitFenix Prodigy? Mainly positive vs. negative pressure inside the case. I want to draw in air from the top through an H100i in pull configuration to make use of the filtering mesh. The front fan is naturally going to be an intake and the back an exhaust. Given that the front and back fans are displacing the same amount of air I should be left with a positive pressure inside the case, which is good (right?). But seeing as the GPU will be taking in air from the side vent, I'm afraid that the positive air pressure will inhibit the GPU from taking in enough air, since potentially warm air from inside the case will try to escape though that vent. I'm fairly new to PCs and this is the first build I plan myself, so I might just be over-thinking the matter. But I want some advice from more experienced builders. The Prodigy seems really nice, so I want to be completely sure before I take it off my list of potential cases. I couldn't find an answer to this specific question anywhere, but if you've stumbled upon it feel free to provide a link, I'd be very grateful. ^-^ Also, since I'm in the early stages of planing I'm open to ideas, so recommendations to other cases or fan setups would be "cool". (lol get it, cause this is about cooling solutions... I'll just stop now...) Thanks in advance! ;D

Hey everyone, Bitfenix Prodigy Thread "Woop Wooop" (For some reason I could not uploade some kind of awesome banner for the thread) Normally I would never do something like this but anyway I ended up thinking it could be kind of fun. I want to make a thread about bitfenix prodigy, a thread where people who have it or plan on getting it. Can share idea's thoughts and so on, like a source of inspiration for others who doesnt have it or just for people wanting to see what can be done to the one they have already. The rules are simple. 1) All kinds of feedback are allowed BUT keep it positive and constructive. 2) There is no stupid questions. So I can start out with a little funny (in my opinion) story. So from the start i hatred prodigy, it's too mainstream for me, everyone was super pleased with it, everyone was just praising it to the skies, but I always thought it was too big, clumsy and looked more like a mac. At some point even one of my friends had it and I still could not comprehend why he choose it, but in the end I now have one. It was the only one they had in left in that size (ITX) and I decided to try it out. And i'm not super impressed with the basic one I got the version in black with a mesh front, THEREFORE! I'm gonna mod it ofc, I hate having things that arent unique somehow, love things that are 1 of a kind. ( it is a longer story but made it rather short. ) So My Plans for the build is something in the lines of this. Prodigy "The Dark Child" *Custom side panel (both sides) *Custom interior design plan on making a basement. *Custom top and maybe a few other things just started on it today. Welcome And Enjoy everyone! *PS I could not find any other thread like this but if there is one please link it so we don't have 2 laying around.

Never found a case i wanted, so i took a white Prodigy i had ad remembered its pretty easy to mod it. == HARDWARE == Zotac G41 ITX motherboard Intel E6600 cpu 8GB ram Will try on the onboard graphics at first, if i need more power i have a 6570 low profile card to use with a riser. So i tested it out with some 4mm ABS plastic and it was good, this gray will be painted later on and not be visible as the front panel goes on the outside of it. So here it goes, build thread No#... too many

I have the Bitfenix Prodigy case, and currently am using the stock fans that it comes with. My specs on the computer aren't super amazing (but can run most new games on high), but I want to install a couple fans to add a cool color, and help it stay cool as I upgrade it. I want to use a: 230mm green spectre pro in the front, two 120mm red spectre pros on the top, one 140mm green spectre pro on the back. I know that is an overkill haha, but I don't mind noise and it will look really cool 1st question) What kind of adapters will I need to run all of the fans? I already have one molex adapter for the stock fan in the front, but for four fans? 2nd question) Would installing this many fans hurt my PC in any way? Or how long will the fans last? Thanks so much for answering!!

I am going to be building my computer soon, (First one) and have always been interested in mini-Itx builds. The just seemed so cool how so much could fit in such little cases. I have picked out two sets of parts that are very similar, with the only difference being form factor. My question here is: if I go with a mini-Itx build, will I regret it in the long run? Parts list: Case: Corsair 750D or Bitfenix Prodigy Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Hero or Maximus VI Impact CPU: i7 4770k GPU: EVGA GTX 780 (Don't think its worth it to get 780ti, but I will have to see the benchmarks) Storage: WD Black 2TB + Samsung 840 Pro 256GB RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 1866Mhz (2x8GB) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14 PSU: Corsair AX760 Case Fans: If mini-Itx, 3xAF120's. If ATX, 5xAF140's vein. Controlled by NZXT Sentry 2 Any advice welcome and greatly appreciated.

I need some help with my first SFF build (PC Part Picker Link). 1. I'm planning on pulling the air through the radiator (fans on top), will the radiator be secure hanging from the fans? 2. What kind of fan controller will fit in the Prodigy case with the H100i in the top? 3. Would it be better to use 1x120mm Scythe GT 1850rpm in the front or should I use the bitfenix spectre pro 230mm? 4. Can I use Scythe GT 1450rpm as chassis fans or are they too weak for the Prodigy? 5. Should the exhaust fan E be used as an intake or exhaust? 6. I would prefer to use the EVGA 780 Ti SC ACX. Will this work with my planned set up or do i have to use the SC version?. 780 ACX in a prodigy, 780 Ti SLI in a Phenom Toby

Hi! I'm looking to upgrade/replace my current build with a mini-ITX one. For the most part I've decided what I want to buy (see the list below) and the parts I'll reuse. What I want is a gaming rig that is good looking, quite small and quiet. My main problem is that to use the H100i I have to remove the ODD slot, and then I can't have the Bitfenix Recon like I want. So I've been looking at alternatives like the H60 and some of the Noctua air coolers, but making this all fit together is a bit beyond me, so some input on this would be appriciated.
