There's been some AirDrop on Twitter for a few days now, it has 2.7M posts. This is a crypto related AirDrop. Who knows anything about it? Isn't this a scam? Because some crypto projects are a scam. I would like a detailed explanation if possible.

Summary Nearly 5 years after the founder of QuadrigaCX the Vancouver-based cryptocurrency exchange Gerald Cotten faked his death in late 2018. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel. Just earlier today, millerthomson the law firm that took on the role of dealing with this shit show, updated on their website, providing effected users with some good news: People are getting at least 13% back!!! After a long 5 years, tho most of the cash is still missing, the people involved have moved on to work on bigger and better crypto scams, Gerald Cotten's fake body still not dug up, no one even talks about the inactive bitcoins that's in QuadrigaCX wallet suddenly started to move earlier this year, and what the effected users get back likely will not cover the physiological trauma of the whole ordeal. I truly hope people can find solace in the fact that justice will come in the end, and crime does not pay 100%. faking your death in a crypto-ponzi will net you less than 87% profit. Quotes Who's happy with this result? Who still wanna see Gerald Cotten's body exhumed to settle the final piece of the mystery? Sources My source is that I made it the F@#& up!! Hi! Recently I started mining using NiceHash. Now, the fans on my RTX 3060 Ti FE will not turn off and there pretty loud, even when I'm not mining. Then, I noticed that a program called Excavator v1.6.3g is open with the NiceHash logo. I think this is the reason. is there any way to close it, as when I try to close window or end task it just re opens and the fans go to 63% speed (LOUD) I really want to be able to have a silent PC and I am afraid that this will impact my gaming performance. Note that if uninstalling NiceHash is the solution, I am fine with that. Thanks for any help!

Hi! I recently got into mining with NiceHash, using my 3060 Ti. I hate seeing that 100% load on my GPU, because I know it lessens the performance of the GPU over time. I know it will lower my mining rates, but I'm willing to do that if it means my GPU will stay at it's original glory for longer. Is there any way to lower the GPU load to around %50-%60 while mining? Thanks for any help!

Hello guys! I am recently new to bitcoin and mining. So I started to mine with NiceHash. My question is what is the best way for me to convert my bitcoin into real money with smallest amount of fees. I want to transfer it and to stay in my bank account, but I read that first I need to send it to coinbase and then transfer it to my credit card. But i have a little problem and cant register to coinbase because it wants me a bill with my name , adress and so on. I provided them 3 different types of bills and still cant register. I will be grateful if someone can help me and explain to me how it works. Thank you!

First things first, my build is in my signature. Just so you know what hardware I'm working with. It's also setup with an H150i AIO and all of the fans in the case were replaced with Noctua Chromax blacks. I recently picked up a Corsair Icue Nexus to hook up to my K70 Mk.2, it allowed me to add my CPU Load, CPU Temp and GPU Temp to a screen on my keyboard so I can monitor it in real time(really cool little device) which is super convenient for me as I don't have a secondary monitor(space limitations)at this time. I noticed upon getting it higher temps then I'd like to see and my CPU load being a little higher than it should be at idle, not terrible and definitely not high enough usage or temps to be concerned about. But definitely not where they should have been. And I had noticed the Noctua fans were louder than I thought they would be. I recently rebuilt my computer into a P500A - White(about 6 months ago) when I got my 3090 as it did not fit in my Meshify C. Having only used Noctuas a handful of times and not in my own computer I didn't know exactly how quiet they were supposed to be, they were quieter than my previous fans but not by as much as I thought, so I've been fairly neutral on how I've felt about them. I thought those issues were strange but didn't think anymore of it because while gaming the temps and usage were well within in normal metrics, besides dusting the computer out and disabling some startup programs and background apps I didn't do anything else. A few days later, I start playing Far Cry 6 on launch day, max settings, DXR enabled, and at 1440p 165hz. I noticed some issues, mainly a decent bit of stuttering and getting 50fps instead of the well over 60fps I should have been getting even with DXR enabled. Also had low FPS with DXR off. The games framerate was just random and well below what similar systems were getting. So I'm monitoring temps and usage, I try some other games to make sure I'm getting my normal framerates and everything looks about right with what I have gotten in the past. I run some stress tests and leave one running overnight. In the morning after turning off the test I notice my computer is not idle like it should be. Looking at the temps and load on my Nexus I see about 40% to 50% usage on CPU even though nothing in task manager is showing what is using it, and my GPU temps are in the high 60c range. Which at idle, and with nothing open neither of those should be where they are. So I start using the computer and try to figure out what's going on and it cools down and the CPU usage drops but not all the way back down to idle. I leave it alone again and once it's idle again it ramps back up. So I do a cleanup. I run disk cleanup, glary, adwcleaner, and then Malwarebytes which I have used for years and typically only use it when I think I need to. So adwcleaner finds a couple things of adware, I clean several GB of temp files off, but then Malwarebytes hit the jackpot. The only malicious file/files on my computer was a trojan.bitcoinminer called Sound Bass I don't know how it got there or where it came from and it had been on the computer since quite possibly even before I got my 3090 and I've had it for several months. I used Malwarebytes to quarantine and remove it. Computer runs leaps and bounds better, it's quieter, cooler, and the performance is much better. Far Cry 6 with max settings, DXR enabled, and at 1440p now runs at 80 to 85fps rock solid, and runs at 100 to 115fps with DXR disabled. My idle temps and load are back to normal and every single game I have ever played since getting the 3090 and kept track of has had the FPS be a lot better, the computer is almost dead silent now when not under load or even while gaming it's much quieter and I am now happy and in love with these fans. Upon checking the last time I had ran a Malwarebytes scan on the rig was a year and a half ago. So it's possibly been on there since then and I only noticed it now due to the Icue Nexus and Far Cry 6 not running as it should on my computer. I am now going to scan my computer once a week with Malwarebytes and do a full cleanup maybe a couple times a year. It just goes to show no matter how much you know about computers and how careful you are something could still get on there without you knowing. Remember to always scan your computer even if you don't think you need to, you could possibly have a freaking bitcoin miner on it without your knowledge lol. Has anyone else ran into a similar situation? I'm curious to know if bitcoinminer trojans are common.

The Vancouver Sun reported on a recent deal between Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC) and MintGreen, a company providing bitcoin mining servers that can heat 350,000 square feet of space a day. North Vancouver, BC could be the first North American city to see the municipal provided and bitcoin mining powered heating. https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/bitcoin-could-be-heating-homes-in-north-vancouver-next-year

Alright, this one is a weird one. While running nicehash quickminer, randomly (sometimes within a few minutes, sometimes after several hours) all my USB peripherals stutter and miss inputs (acts like a polling rate of 1hz, where the mouse only updates once a second) and audio (which is over USB) turns to mostly static. This issue is usually resolved right after stopping the miner... I've tried reinstalling GPU drivers (with DDU + NVCleaninstall), reinstalling chipset and audio drivers, deleting all USB drivers in device manager and lettings windows reinstall drivers, nothing. Any Ideas? (Before I give up and reinstall windows for the idk 832? time). Edit: I actually experienced this behaviour before (however I don't remember if it was related to nicehash that time, it was caused by the thunderbolt dock from what I remember (which I'm no longer using))

Hello guys! I am writing to ask you for a little tip. So I am going to spend around 1200 euro on a mining card or maybe more cards for the same price. Here where I live in Bulgaria it is almost impossible to get something new on decent price. You know the prices on the GPU's and how the thing are lately. So I was thinking what will be the best offer for this money and searched for some used cards with warranty still left. I am looking for something newer with warranty because 1200$ is not a small amount for me. But there are cheaper used cards but the thing is i can get more cards and have better profit but they have no warranty and are used too for mining. I think it's a risk and it's all about luck if i buy them without warranty but for the same money the profit will be better. For 1200 euro I can only get 2 GTX 1660 Supers or Ti's .Which will give me around 62 MH/s. For the same price I can get RX 580 8gb , but with warranty and same results. And the last options which I find risky but most profitable is to buy 4 or 5 GTX 1060 6gb used without warranty. Which do you thing will be the best offer because I am hesitating what will be the best way to invest those 1200 euros by the best possible way. And if I am still waiting the prices only go up and it's almost impossible to find a video card whenever its is.

I have heard that Bitcoin and the blockchain can never be 'hacked'. I certainly believe that someone won't be able to just somehow break the blockchain and duplicate/create funds out of nowhere due to the strength of digital encryption. However, how true is that statement? -Can it not just be hacked currently due to current technology limitations? -Does there need to be a number of people in on it? -If a huge entity/organization (beyond the scope of ordinary hacker group) was interested in foul-play, would there be cause for concern? -If someone illicit in 5 years from now had a supercomputer equivalent to the current supercomputer, could it be used somehow to 'crack' a blockchain? I think all technology has some kind of flaws and certainly when it comes to cryptocurrency, the security flaws lie in the ability of your passwords getting stolen from devices with things like Malware or keyloggers, or lost and irrecoverable if your wallet and/or private keys are physically stored. For example, a case in the UK where a guy threw away a hard drive on it with 7,500 Bitcoins worth around £270million+ as of today; Source if interested: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-55658942 Anyway, the above relates to personal individual wallets and funds though and is not the main premise of this thread. Are there any POTENTIAL flaws that could be exploited down the line once technology advances or a mega group of blackhats like EvilCorp come along with a new technique to copy/delete/change the blockchain? Obviously, software engineers familiar with the blockchain can answer this question better than I can. Note that I'm not asking for you to identify something that doesn't exist, I'm just asking you (as the expert) to give your honest unbiased analysis of blockchain technology and a risk assessment based on what you do know. P.S. = The flaws noted (if any) should be in the context of the technology. Other potential risks and flaws like legislation (and lack of), market volatility and abuse, tax evasion and black market dealings are noted but are not relevant to this topic. - (As above, I'm looking for a technical answer, so only answer if you truly know what you are talking about. It can be as short or long as you want. Many thanks )

Hello Everyone Sorry for my bad English. i am new to mining stuff. i just started mining last month. i am facing some problems right now. hope i can get some solutions from here. i watched linus latest video on Nicehash Mining. and i am using nicehash miner (not using quickminer) i have a old gaming system with x5670 xeon @4.00 Ghz @1.34v, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB. so i was getting a pretty good hash rate with my GPU about 20 - 21 MH/s @80-83 Watts i thought i should use my cpu too for mining. and started doing that too .. now my cpu is also mining for about 0.30$ USD. But today i received my electricity bill which was about 14$ USD more then last month(when i wasn't mining). i don't mine 24/7.. i mostly mine 12 hours a day.. and my total gross income from mining is about 33$. now i don't think so it is that profitable. since i was expecting 5-8$ USD increment in my electricity bill.. now what i am thinking that i was using my overclocked xeon too for mining.. does it consume that much electricity? should i stop mining from my cpu? and disable overclock from my cpu when i am using my GPU to mine? since it might make my cpu use less electricity when it is idling? any advice will be great.

I had this idea and i don't know why no one approaching it so far, to fight the miners. Why don't the big companies force the vendors to do the following? 1- Vendors are not allowed to sell more than 1 GPU per person, for the same GPU series. 2- Vendors check the national ID of the buyer on the official website of Nvidia/ AMD. 3- it shows that you are not eligible to buy an RTX 3080 because your already bought one from another vendor, but you can have one from each other series. 4- Buyer agrees to buy an RTX 2070, Vendor insert it's serial number and the buyer's ID to the official website. 5- Buyer is no longer eligible to buy an RTX 3080 or RTX 2070 anymore from anywhere of the world. 6- Miners are in crises, they can't buy GPUs in bulks anymore. 7- Stocks are full again, shelves are filled, prices go back to it's normal state. 8- Gamers win, miners lose. so these idea i had for awhile, i want to know what's wrong with it, why is it not applicable or on the table?

Hi, I watched linus's video a month or so ago and been using Nicehash to mine on my 2080 super and already mined over 100 euro's. I know NiceHash is kind of a beginner mining tool and was looking into a more "official" tool because I'm kind of hooked now. What do you guy's use to mine?

Last night here I left a sell market order on Nicehash. I waited a long while and I just thought the FIFO line was long so I went to bed. Now I wake up to have all registry of my order disappearing. I added a new sell order now but I lost a significant bit of value ofc. Luckily I left a tab opened and was able to take a print and created a ticket there, but this seems really shady. Widrawals are temporarily blocked so it seems my Bitcoin there is stuck on the downfall. I'm really frustrated and don't know what else to do. Update: the new sell order was processed now but yeah, I lost quite a bit it seems, given that Bitcoin was valued around 35k € last night and now at 32k. I hope they assume my loss but I think that's a fool's hope.

Hi, I am thinking about mining Bitcoin, just to make some profit for savings. I have a 10900K and RTX 3070. What should I know before start? Recommended Mining Software and wallet? Thanks in advance for the replies, recommendations, and advice.
