Hello there! So some context, I bought my 3090 when it came out and had no issues with it in the beginning. Great card. roughly 2 years later it started cooking the vram hitting the 110c point before shutting down. Thought it was a cooling pad problem so I sent it off to a company who switched out all the paste and pads. They told me that there was a bit problem with the memory but that it shouldnt effect me. Now here I am and the problem is still there, playing tarkov, star citizen, valorant and even simpler games and it still shuts the pc down and reboots or it freezes... If this is caused by the bit problem, what should I do? If not and its a cooling problem, should I just get water cooling instead?

Hello, LTT Forum! I got my screwdriver some months ago with all the bits. This created a problem for me: I never know what bits I will need, so I want to carry them all, all the time. I tried some of the 3d printed carriers but I faced another problem: I tend to lose things. Knowing myself, I will, eventually, forget the bit holder somewhere. So, I designed my own bit holder, a modular one, so you can print as many parts as needed to carry. Nicknamed by my students and colleagues "The Silencer", this bit holder will carry as many bits as you need and will be held snug onto the screwdriver's shaft. I hope this helps someone! Hey guys! I own an LG K10 2017 that has a ARM Cortex A53 that should run 64 bit aplications but somehow it doesnt, any ideas of why is that? I'm running Android 7 (supported by the app that i'm trying to use). ARM page with specs of the processor: https://developer.arm.com/ip-products/processors/cortex-a/cortex-a53?fbclid=IwAR153evhXQGm_KidpG9eNTBmXZGb-vg1C7Gb_jQmduLoBNZCT_oHU14uac0

I just got a new monitor for photo editing and graphic design, plugged it into my 970 with a display port, switched both in the Nvidia settings to 10bpc and Photoshop settings to support 30bit, yet the test ramp file from this website still show banding. Any help? I google, and there are conflicting posts as to whether consumer grade cards support 10bit or only available on Quadro cards, or some not supporting OpenGL 10bit. What's the situation on how to get 10bit? Why are there so little resources on compatibility guides?

I'm looking for a good screwdriver that has ratcheting capability and has magnetic tips so I can have screws attracted to the screwdriver tip. For some reason, Amazon seems to have a bad way of describing these. Help?

if you install a windows os in 64 bit does it always come with 32 bit? reason i am asking is because in windows(c:) , in folders, i have "program files(x86)" i heard that is 32 bit and "program files" i heard that is 64 bit if you install 64 bit os on computer will i still have "program files" and "program files(x86)" or do i have to install a 64 and 32 bit onto a computer i want to keep both "program files" and "program files(x86)" when installing a windows os that why i asked this question, because if i install a 64 bit onto a computer my fear is that "program files(x86)" wont show.

Hey guys I converted 0.125 from decimal to IEEE. The calculators result is correct but I don't get why the 0 is in front of 1111100 for the exponent. Take a look at step (6). This is the calculator: http://binary-system.base-conversion.ro/real-number-converted-from-decimal-system-to-32bit-single-precision-IEEE754-binary-floating-point.php?decimal_number_base_ten=0.125&sign=0&exponent=01111100&mantissa=00000000000000000000000

I was helping someone I know buy a good all-around monitor. They told me they had bought a 27" 1080p monitor with FreeSync for about $300.00. Needless to say, I believed they could have gotten way more bang for their buck. After about an hour of going through dozens of tech specs, I found this - the "ACER V277U" (Acer Website) (Newegg Sales Page ). I was AMAZED that a 27" 2560 x 1440 IPS monitor with a 10-bit panel could cost as little as $250.00 - $270.00! The fact it had adaptive sync was an added bonus! So here I am with my non-gaming monitor checklist: < $300.00? Yes. 2560 x 1440? Yes. 27" diagonal? Yes. 10-bit IPS panel? Yes. some sort of "sync" ( wasn't looking for this feature but hey, I'll take it!)? Yes. I am looking at this monitor thinking it is hands down the best value as long as you aren't looking for a high refresh rate. The catch is I have seen other monitors with this resolution and 8-bit panels selling for much more. I can't help but wonder "What is wrong with this monitor?" The ONLY thing I can think of is that Acer was trying to market this as an HDR monitor (since it has a 10-bit panel), but didn't pass the VESA 400 standard since it only has a peak brightness of 350 nits. I feel an in-depth Linus-Style review is needed for quality validation Let me know what you guys think out there! - Erik

I Have an issue, Im looking to get a "Reasonably" Priced LG Ultra-wide, and I'm looking at the LG 29" 29UM68 But that isn't sold anymore only the 29UM68-P Which I'm led to believe is an Eco IPS With a 6 Bit+FRC Panel, I Want to know if anyone can figure out the Crap naming scheme LG has going and help me finding the right monitor which is essentially the same but i want the True actual 8 Bit colour variant. (2560x1080 21:9 LG Ultra-wide 29" TRUE 8 BIT!!!) I Had my heart set on the 29UM55 But it's no longer sold, Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Hey so I'm trying to learn video right now and I'm a bit confused on this one particular topic. I know Color depth is measured in bits to show the values of rgb but I was confused on this one thing. I remember the BMCC came out a few years ago and was 10 bit which surprised everyone for it's price. I know most low level cameras shoot in 8 bit giving 256 values of rgb. I was scrolling across B&H and noticed the T6i's specs say 14 bit raw. Can anyone explain why this is thanks! https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=1116100&gclid=Cj0KEQjwouW9BRCN0ozIifTI6_cBEiQAD9gNsfVZfoyUBnuewoBdiHzXkYdHuNe1iOUZMZyFmcHEFtcaApD88P8HAQ&is=REG&ap=y&m=Y&c3api=1876%2C92051677442%2C&A=details&Q=

It'd be nice to have a programming language that natively supports direct bitwise file I/O... to output bits, we could simply: int main() { Bit my_bit = 01010011; ofstream outfile(filepath); Bit_write(outfile, my_bit); return 0; } (Note the 'Bit' data type...) Is there any such language? Can we create such a function? Can we create such a data type (or template, STL container, etc.)?

Ok so my question is if you have a motherboard that supports 2 CPUs on a 32 bit operating system OR each CPU only being capable of 32 bit operation, can the fact there is two of them mean that you can have 8GB of ram? My logic would be it's possible because they're two separate CPUs each with 4gb of ram? I am in no way talking about being able to have 64bit operation I'm talking about if you can double the amount of RAM you can use by having two sort of independant CPUs.

My laptop is a core i5 2430M with Windows 10 Enterprise and 6GB of DDR3 RAM. On the "system" page, it tells me that i am running 64bit and a 64bit based processor. However I try running my applications and they are on 32bit. It never gave me the options of installing a 64 or a 32bit version of that program. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I'm using a screen recorder and was wondering what the difference is between 0-255 and 16-235. By default it suggests 0-255. When would I want 16-235? Am I right in thinking that 0-255 is full Adobe RGB while 16-235 is Adobe sRGB?

Hi! I really just got int the pc building thing, but my first build was a success. My father, a long-time gamer, has requested that i do a build for him. So of course, i'm looking into a nice gpu for him. One of my buddies mentioned 'bit' but didn't really know what it real is or if its important. so can someone tell me how bit affects gpu, specifically when it comes to gaming, and if its as important as its memory. I've only got one point of reference, my own GPU, which is a 384 bit-3gb card, so what i'm really asking for is perspective.

Hey everyone, I just finished building a new PC the other day, and that all went very well. Of course being a first time builder I opted to go with windows as my OS, and I was able to get a free version of win.7 through a program at my school. So I downloaded the ISO, got the key and everything, but when I use the M.S. USB/DVD Download tool, I get the 'bootsect' error when I try to use the 64 bit ISO and put in onto my USB thumb drive. It worked just fine with the 32bit. It says on the online help that I need the bootsect.exe in order to make a bootable drive with the 64bit OS, so i just need a way to either get the bootsect file (since like I said, I got the windows program/key through DreamSpark, not through the MS Store) since I can't just use the "drop down next to my purchase of Win.7" on the MS Store. I just ended up going with the 32bit for now since I am not currently doing anything other than school work on the comp, and the 4GB limit isn't constricting too much right now, but I want to have access to all of my RAM! Any help or feedback is greatly appreciated. Many thanks, GH4 (note: I also posted this in troubleshooting, but got no replies so I thought this may have been a better spot)

I'm trying to learn a little bit about colour (not color :P) bit depth before I indulge myself in my 10hr Lynda Photoshop course. I've read this: "Bit depth quantifies how many unique colors are available in an image's color palette in terms of the number of 0's and 1's, or "bits," which are used to specify each color. This does not mean that the image necessarily uses all of these colors, but that it can instead specify colors with that level of precision. For a grayscale image, the bit depth quantifies how many unique shades are available. Images with higher bit depths can encode more shades or colors since there are more combinations of 0's and 1's available." Source: http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/bit-depth.htm When it says "unique colours" does it mean that as in different shades of colour or actually different colours? And how come grayscale images are only shades of white/black and not the full spectrum of RGB? Thirdly, where do the values of 0-255 come into all of this. Sorry if this doesn't make sense - I'm confused

Was wondering with the new update for android allowing 64bit processors to be used, with the amount of ram in phones, (no more than 3GB), what is actually the point of having 64bit in phones. Also the introduction of more budget phones running chips like the snapdragon 410, what benefits does this give to budget phones which are likely not to have any more than 2GB of ram for a long while.

Hello LinusTechTipians, I'm planning a new build in a Bitfenix Prodigy and I was considering using 2 AIO coolers (a Kraken x41 for the CPU and an Corsair h105 with a nzxt g10) to cool my CPU and GPU, Now what I'm wondering is if I can mount the Kraken x41 in the rear while having a Corsair h105 or at least a h100i mounted in the top, both coolers would only be run in pull. So what do you guys think, will it fit? For instance i've heard that 128bit (on graphics cards) is only good with a VRAM of 1-2Gb, 256bit= 2-3 Gb etc. ?
