Is it possible to update the BIOS via q-flash (or the other brand's equivalents) using a micro sd card and a USB adapter.

I have a aorus B450 m motherboard with bois f2. I have a ryzen 5 2600. I had a zotac gtx 1060 amp 6gb but that died 2 weeks ago. I have no other gpu around so. I'm gone try to buy a radeon rx 6800 xt. Maybe a little bit of overkill for my ryzen 2600 but I wil see. If my gpu is to hard bottlenecked by the cpu than I will upgade de cpu. But than I need a bios upgrade. I have never updated my bois. I don't know how. When I see on the website of the motherboard, I can find all de differend bios versions. My questions are. Do I need to do all de previous bios form f2 to f60c? How do I do a bios update? Does it gone have any performance increase with te ryzen 2600? Does de bios f60c work for my ryzen 5 2600? (because this bios is ment to support de new 5000 cpu's) Can somebody help me?

So I'm writing this in case any poor soul is googling for a solution to this as my fix was something incredibly stupid. I built my first pc and by some miracle it booted into the bios on first try. The first thing I did was to update the BIOS. I followed the instructions to a T: I plugged in the prepared USB drive and used the BIOS utility to select the file and update. Everything was going according to the instructions. Once the update finished, the PC rebooted. But I was greeted by a black screen. There was signal to the monitor, but it was black. To make matters worse, the VGA LED on the motherboard was lit, which according to the manual means GPU not detected or failed. I rebooted several times trying to get into the bios by masing delete like my life depended on it, but nothing. I was ready to reflash the bios using the flashback button or consider finidng another GPU to test out. Luckily, before doing that I found the very stupid fix. It's something no set of instructions I found mentioned: I unplugged the USB dirve. After doing that and rebooting, I was greeted by the freshly updated bios. I have no idea what caused this. I was thinking that it was trying to boot onto the usb drive for some reason, but even then I was still unable to get to the bios by mashing delete. Would love to hear if anyone has any idea what happened

Hey so I just bought a ryzen 7 5700x and I currently have a Ryzen 5 5600x, do I need to update my bios for this before installing the new cpu or can I just replace it and not change anything?

Hello guys, So I'm building a system for a friend's kid and there's a small hitch with it. Specs: R5 3600 MSI B450m Mortar Max mobo 2x8 GB Corsair Veng. 3200Mhz 500GB Samsung SSD/2.5" GTX 1660ti So the motherboard supports bios flashback through this method: I've done it before on other new machines with other MSI motherboards and it has always worked flawlessly. This time though something really weird happens. After the bios update, everything starts properly, I installed windows10, even got the guy steam working on and we tried CS:GO. So far so good. Unfortunately though, when I shut down the machine and we try to do a cold boot, the system is unresponsive. No flashing leds, no moving fans, nothing. When I restart the machine through windows, it goes on normally and it boots up again. If I do full shut down and try to start it through the case button, nothing happens. I tried shorting the CPU Power pins on the motherboard in case there was something wrong with the switch on the case, but it's not responsive. Right now I tried updating the bios with the MSI Live Update 6 software, and will try to do another cold boot once more. Have you got any suggestions on what may cause this problem? thanks! Edit: When it boots successfully, after bios update, the Power and Reset switches are unresponsive. I cannot shut down or restart the machine with them. Same even if I try shorting the related pins (as per the motherboard manual).

I am planning to build a Ryzen 3200g based computer as cheap as possible (The prices for components in my country are 20% higher than that of US). But I am not an expert in these things and do not want to have trouble with customer care. So I need major help in RAM selection as well as motherboard bios. 1)Bios update- I am planning to use a GIGABYTE GA-A320M-S2H AM4 Micro ATX motherboard. According to their product page, it supports third gen Ryzen with bios update but I am not sure if it will actually work. So if someone has tried using this configuration it would be a big help to know the result. The closest out of the box supported motherboard ( MSI B450 PRO-VDH MAX) is priced at $40 higher than the A320. 2) Memory- I have found various memory kit at cheap price but most of them only support Intel chipset (as provided by manufacturer of memory and motherboards ). I checked compatibility on ' pc parts picker' and they do list it as supported but I do not know for sure if they will work on the ryzen chipset and the memory kit supported by motherboard is $15 expensive. EDIT : Thank you for replying. 1) I have checked the QVL of motherboards. That is why I was asking help for Memory as Linus just says buy a high frequency cheapest RAM possible. 2) I am not going to play many games ( probably would play CS:GO, or older NFS titles like- The RUN & Most Wanted 2012, Grid Autosport ,etc.). So I don't need much graphics power and as a result I am not buying a GPU. I will be using the computer for programming purpose but I would prefer not to cheap out for previous gen processors.

Hello Everyone, this is my first post here: I hope I'll make my self clear and provide all the information needed in order to get some help. This is my case: a week ago I bought this build. Now, why did I choose that particular MB among all the alternatives? I needed a native vga output for my 19" 1280*1024 lcd screen in the first place, and I didn't want to rely on any HDMI-VGA or DVI-VGA adapter. Secondly, I was flattered by the idea of some vrm coolers and, most importantly, 4 ram slots instead of two sounded good for better -and cheaper- future upgradability. Putting all this together, and keeping in mind that I buy on Amzn Italy (which has may be a smaller range of alternatives compared to other markets or marketplaces) this seemed like a good choice to me. And I still think it is. Only with some issues. 1. Fast startup disabled in order to correctly detect screen During the first launches the display automatically switched to 800*600 px resolution, and if forced to its optimal settings 1280*1024 it went blank. Even with my little knowledge I thought it was a driver issue so I went on and installed the amd radeon software: not the latest one though (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 Optional), but, as you can see from the page, the one provided by the auto-detect and install software (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.4.2 Recommended (WHQL)). After that, the resolution issue was gone and I could easily work at 1280*1024.. or so I thought.. When the computer was turned on in fact, the display went black at the MB's splash screen and turned off while the pc kept on with the boot: of course you couldn't see anything because the screen was blank so I had to reboot manually from the front panel switch. Following the advice of some other forumers, I swtiched off the fast startup setting in W10 and this particular issue was gone: it always boots correctly now and the display is always detected. I still don't understand the reason for this though.. Let's move on with the second issue now: the slow spash screen time. Hello. I am working on a build for my friend, and previous to today I had thought that all 2nd gen AMD Ryzen chips may not be compatible with older BIOS updates on certain motherboards. In fact, I had to order a boot kit from AMD to get my own rig working. However, upon researching the Ryzen 3 2200g and Ryzen 5 2400g, I noticed that Gigabyte shows that the Raven Ridge APU processors have been compatible since the first bios version of their b350 mobos. Is it true that an update will not be needed for the 2200g and 2400g? I have seen across the internet people saying that they will need an updated motherboard for their 2200g.
