Today I came back to playing Skyrim SE after about a month away from the game. As most of us know, BGS games cap in-game fps to 60 because of the engine. Before when I was playing I had a consistent 60fps in-game at all times, very little dropping and (if any) it was to 59-58. For some reason now the game is running at a constant 55 fps, which is VERY odd to me because it basically seems capped (why would it be capped at 55). But what is even more odd is, the game is stuttering like crazy and is clearly not running very well, despite 55fps realistically being marginally visually different from the previous 60fps I had; I'm not that picky, obviously 55fps is fine, but I can't understand why it's changed all of a sudden and why the game performance is bad. All graphics settings are on Ultra, but changing graphics settings does absolutely nothing to performance, so I am really totally confused right now. I have tried disabling all mods and reinstalling the game, as well as messing with nvidia control panel and some third party software, but with no luck. If anybody has had a similar experience with a BGS game or knows of a fix I would really appreciate it. I'll list my system specs below but I kind of doubt it has anything to do with my hardware. TLDR: Skyrim is stuck at 55fps when before it was at a constant 60fps, and is noticeably stuttering and suffering in performance despite 55fps and changing graphics settings. system specs: amd 5600x RTX 2070ti 16gb corsair vengeance ddr4 b550 tomahawk 1080p 60hz basic-ass monitor

So I’ve had my new computer for about a month or so now and it plays all games just fine, except Fallout 4. Every 5-10 minutes I’ll get a bad lag spike that lasts about 3-5 seconds and goes down to 0 fps, then returns to normal. I have framerate capped at 1/2 my refresh (144hz monitor so 72fps cap). I’ve triedcapping it at 60fps, 30fps and 144fps and nothing seems to fix it. Specs are: AsRock X570 Taichi (latest bios) Ryzen 9 3900X Corsair h100i v2 (temps never go over 70C) GTX 1080 ti EVGA SuperNova 750W Platinum 32GB (2 x 16GB) G.Skill TridentZ Neo (samsung b-die) 3600MHz Seagate IronWolf 4TB HDD 7200RPM Samsung 970 EVO (256GB NVME) Windows 10 Pro (1909) x64 Is there an ini tweak i’m missing? Looking on my second monitor CPU usage that is utilized by the game drops to 0% during the lag and then goes back to normal utilization. GPU utilization hovers in the 32-51% range the whole time. I know there’s nothing wrong with the PC as that is the only game that has bad stutter like that. If I had to guess maybe its when the game is loading a new chunk and its moving the load across chiplets for some reason? My old rig never gad performance like that (i7-5775C overclocked to 4.5GHz, GTX 1080 and 32GB of DDR3 2400MHz). I also am running the Ryzen High Performance power plan and several mods (no script mods or anything like that) it also does it on a fresh install with no mods. God Rays at Ultra vs Off makes no difference, weapon debris are also disabled. Also tried limiting it to 4 threads, 8 threads, 12 threads, 16 threads and all 24 threads. Does Fallout 4 just not play nice with Ryzen, or does someone have any optimization ideas?

I know I'm a bit late to the party but I played fallout 4 for the first time. This is due to the major backlash and horrendous issues with the game in ways only writing a book could have you understand if you haven't played it for yourself. I've only played a few hours of the game and have maxed out the graphics in 1080p, 1440p and 4k (almost). Why is it that the games graphical fidelity is lackluster and decent at best? It seems that the engine may be old? I feel like with the cards that I've tested (Rx 480, fury, Gtx 1070, Gtx 1080) It feels like the cards are doing worse than they should. I've made sure the test benches are fine and there is no thermal issues or bottle necks of any kind but for some reason the game just doesn't look that good. Maybe it's me? I just feel like something is holding the game/cards back and just makes the game looks god awful. Even at 1080p high settings I see jaggies out the ass and even when putting everything on ultra @1080p (God rays turned off) it still looks terrible. It feels mushy and like someone smeared Vaseline on the screen. It could be the style of the game but I have a rather unanimous consensus from my circle of friends that have played the title. I'm assuming it's an old engine (Which if it is shame on Bethesda) Honestly the game wasn't worth my money and will return the game asap. What do you guys think?

I just wanted to create this thread to toss around ideas on how Bethesda COULD implement 2 player co-op into some of their open world sandbox games. I really wanted a functioning Fallout 4 COOP mod to show up but it looks like that won't be happening due to the technical limitations of it. I noticed a lot of people arguing about how it could be implemented, if it even should be. This is my idea: First of all, it should be voluntary of course. It should be like Minecraft where one person hosts and the other people can only play when the host is online. I feel like that would be MUCH easier to maintain than to deal with dedicated servers. Of course a dedicated server would be much cooler but it's way too hard to maintain and seems really unnecessary. And of course the other person is able to DC whenever they want without interrupting the host's gaming. Now for the major things that people are afraid of: Story and conversation: Fallout can be heavily dialogue based and it's unrealistic to think Bethesda should change the dialogue lines to include both players, that'd be insanely time consuming and Bethesda already doesn't put enough time into polishing and bug checking, last thing we need is them having to polish this system. What they should do instead is continue to make it based around the host player. The host does all the talking and conversations. When you enter conversation the camera switches between the people talking when they're talking, right? Well if the second player is nearby there should be an option called "listen in" or something like that, where they see the same thing the host sees in conversation, all the people talking and the line picking options where the host decides the next line said. This way the host and the other player can discuss the correct option, but of course the host should make the decision. Charisma challenges should be based on the host entirely as well. Keep in mind, watching the conversation should be a toggle thing. If the second player would rather explore elsewhere than they should be able to. Companions and PVP: two player coop, no companions. The second player is essentially your companion, so you can't have Piper while your friend is playing with you. There are no special companion perks when you have a second player because it's already a perk to have a well equipped and competent player rather than a really crappy AI. PVP between players will also be an optional and consensual thing, akin to how it was done in Borderlands and it wouldn't completely kill the other player, but the losing player would have to heal themselves' back up while the winner gets their health reset to the way their health was before the 1v1 (that way you can't just do 1v1s to boost the other person's health and the loser does face a consequence) Items: Items and shopping should be the same for either character. When one player picks up an item it should still be there on the other player's screen. If there's a roll of duct tape in the corner and the host picks it up, it should still be on the other player's screen. This way there will be plenty of items for both players so Bethesda doesn't have to worry about increasing the amount of items. This will be different with pick up items and props though. Props like chairs and stuff like that will be the same for both screens, that way if one player hits the chair it moves for the other player. That's different from items though, so if one player moves or picks up an item it doesn't move for the other player. This should go for power suits and weapons as well. When one player is in the powersuit, the other player should be able to see it. But once that player gets out it should disappear for the other. It's gonna look janky and unimmersive but this seems like the best option. Players can't share items so there will never be an overabundance so that difficulty will remain the same. They have different items even if they're at the same workshop or crate. Shops will be the same. If one player buys a weapon from a dealer then that weapon should still be available to the other player. Game difficulty: With two players the game difficulty most certainly needs to be increased to compensate. I would say add twice the enemies and double their health. Bosses get health doubled (but of course there won't be two of the same boss that would be stupid) and there will be twice the amount of super mutants or ogres than before with double the health. If a player DCs while the host is in a gunfight, drop the difficulty so less enemies spawn and newly spawned enemies have less health so as soon as the host clears out the enemies that spawned in while it was still a two player game, it'll be as if it were a single player game the entire time. Bethesda has a bad habit of giving us low framerates when a lot of enemies are on screen though, so a solution to that would be to make the corpses of bodies killed by one player invisible to the other. It'll be last hit based by the way. If one player did 99 damage to an enemy and the other player got the last hit then tough luck! Kill got stolen. That's why you don't play with asshole friends am i right? This way there doesn't get to be an overabundance of items and the game doesn't have to render so many bodies. This would be different for bosses, however, where both the players would still see the boss's corpse and can loot from it. Of course for Bethesda to be able to handle this some compromises need to be made. Maybe less render distance in two player mode and lowered quality. You'll get the best looking and best performing game on solo play but sacrifices must be made in coop. Tough luck kiddo! Finally, the workshop: If Bethesda continues to keep the workshop function introduced in Fallout for and the one in Skyrim, there needs to be a coop plan for it. I think it makes a lot more sense to keep in the workshop function if they do include a coop function. What's the point in building a bad ass settlement or lake house if you can't show it off? I would in Fallout, both players should be able to make a settlement. They both get to build in the same settlement and everything, they can delete each other's items and everything. It should be just like Minecraft in that sense. They should have separate workshops though since they can't share items. If one player has 84 concrete the other player has to get their own concrete. If the second player delete's the host's items (or vice versa) items go back to the original builder, not the person who destroyed it. For a new Elder Scrolls game if they keep the same house building system like they did in Skyrim, I think both players get their own house and can't change the other's. Homes in the Elder Scrolls games should be entirely personal and unaffected by another player. And that's my idea for how Bethesda should implement coop! I know it's much easier said than done but I just wanted to give my perspective as a gamer and NOT a game designer. If there's something I didn't touch on or if you have a better idea or just want to comment on my idea please do so! I want this to be a discussion after all. Also no arguing or insulting. If you have a better idea that someone else in this thread or than me please share it respectfully, I don't want this to be an argument, just a friendly discussion between gamers.

In the game oblivion there was a cheat that involved a bow and arrows. Wile holding an item shooting it with an arrow would split the item into as many items as you have arrows. I'm just wondering if with a newer high end gpu would multiplying the items with a high number of arrows say 500+ dose it cause the game to stutter or even crash. Also if no stuttering and crash how high can you go. If you try it I would like to see a video of the items splitting and raining down all around.

My favorite game i haven't played in months has suddenly died on me. Anytime i try to launch doom(2016) steam will give the regular popout saying "Preparing to launch doom" but when the popup goes away it just says "Doom - Syncing" which is also normal but then it goes away with nothing happening. Any Ideas? I've never had mods installed I haven't changed any of my hardware since i bought it. I've uninstalled doom twice now and haven't had any luck I don't have another drive to test the game on, but i know the drive works fine (I use it just fine every day)

Hi all, So playing Doom multiplayer and despite having V-Sync turned on im shooting well above my TVs refresh rate of 60, I was getting like anywhere between 74 and 108, I mean i'm not complaining but I'm pretty sure V-sync is supposed to sync to your display. Also, has anyone's now not starting up in Vulcan? Played it two weeks ago with a friend in Vulcan, worked fine, now I have to edit the local config to force OpenGL or it just doesn't open the game at alllll. Fecking annoying

So I waited till 1am Eastern standard to watch Bethesda essentially just throw a load of glitter in my face with very little meaty titles. So we are getting two motion controlled vr games(please stop tying this anchor to vr), Fallout 4 and Doom, more crap for Elder Scrolls MMO, an elder scrolls mobile card game( just saying, couldnt those ppl have worked on next real game?) and a paid mods for Skyrim and Fallout (how long until ppl just repost that on nexus or will it have DRM). Dishonored DLC which is fine but not amazing. New Quake which somehow forgot that its an Arena and has jumped on the Overwatch class based shooter bandwagon (does ID have dementia). Really the only two noteworthy game releases are the new Evil Within and Wolfenstein which seems really anemic. In conclusion, momma Bethesda says you have to eat your shitty card games, spinoff mmos and reheated leftovers until she is done with the real meal, honestly I don't know why they ever showed up if they aren't going to actually announce a mainline Fallout or Elderscroll because now everyone goes home with a case of blue balls and a pack of lusty Argonian maid trading cards.

Hey all, Just a theoretical, but when is the Wolfenstein series going to leave Europe or any other continent for the matter? If you read any of the news clippings in The New Order there is a bunch of mentions of Asian actives including the Great Wall of China. Could there be a story line where the Euro rebellion goes on special ops to help liberate other continents/countries? Even a focus on the China/Japan version of the resistance? Wolfenstein II does have America game play which covers some of the States at least. With the Amazon series The Man in the High Castle kind of ideas there is a lot of room for creativity and more of an open world idea rather than the traditional mission by mission play. Even something like South America where the game could explore jungle warfare, mountains, and what places like Colombia, Argentina, and Chile specifically would have looked like. Not to mention Africa which we have met characters from. Better potential than Fallout 76 at least.

We live in an age where games are being rushed out quarterly eating each other's profits by releasing all games at the of the year resulting in no money for no one except for a handful, can game companies stop releasing games altogether and spread it out? look at how Tomb Raider got buried into oblivion and had a 34% discount on the game that was released less than 30 ago,(you would hypothetically have to 600$ even if you managed to by 10 games at basic edition, and at least 300 for 5 but i digress), and now we have Fallout 76 a game which no one asked for releasing at a crowded launch date releasing statements such as the game is gonna have bugs so deal with it //Rant Source : https://www.pcgamer.com/bethesda-warns-fallout-76-fans-to-expect-spectacular-bugs-and-issues/

Full story: https://www.polygon.com/2018/8/11/17661254/bethesda-sell-used-games-amazon-block In what could be described as a massive overreach - Bethesda is sending take-down notices to vendors re-selling Bethesda products on places like Amazon and eBay If left unchallenged, this could impact the scope of the 'First Sale Doctrine' in the United States, which offers legal protection for re-selling goods. The action in question The seller's reason for the listing Bethesda's letter and the seller's response Bethesda's justification - specifically pointing to the lack of warranty determines that the product is 'materially different' from the 'genuine product' (A legal benchmark for the first sale doctrine). Hey guys I posted a topic awhile back about Fallout 4 not being able to save changes to graphical settings, It's locked on Low and I can't change it, not even by forcing it to ultra through .ini files. I finally gave up and went to Skyrim which still worked good at the time. Now Skyrim is doing the exact same thing literally just after I got it running great. And seemingly for no apparent reason... I'm really at my wits end here guys, I've tried everything to no avail, if anyone had had this before and/or knows a fix please let me know. Edit: I know it's not the .ini files being set to read only, I've already checked so don't bother with it.

So here's what I take of it. This is as the average consumer with a general knowledge of most things pc related. I also have trouble wording things as english is not my first language so please bare with me thanks a bunch! Bethesda's 2011 release of Skyrim had it's issue's especially on the PC side of things apparently. The modding community known as http://www.nexusmods.com/ came to save the day with a plethora of mods, fixes, texture remaps, meshes and everything of that sort. This in terms would improve the game quality and add things Bethesda should have added to the game. With that in mind I wanted to bring up the topic of hardware compatibility and performance standards and some of my concerns and questions with the new release of Skyrim Remastered. I've been modding 2011 skyrim for a short period of time but have gone through the ropes of adding anything I could find on the Nexus from textures, meshes, models, lights, animations to even diving through the .ini files to fix issues within the game. I did some research and noticed there is a maximum amount of memory that can be used up to mod the game. The limit is 3.1GB of RAM http://bit.ly/2dnO8DO . With that being said I noticed that that skyrim was designed based around the creation engine. One of my questions would be what exactly is limiting the performance of the game that gives it a limit and such. Obviously it's an older game with an older engine and newer tech would over-perform but there's still so many issues especially when the game is modded. I have been told the game had been "dumbed down" for the consoles to be able to play the game at steady 30fps and the game wasn't designed to go above that without there being issues with the game. That could be wrong but that's what I've been told. I'm not entirely sure how the creation engine stacks up today or how the game itself would run on newer hardware (specifically my new specs - I7 4770@ 3.4 Ghz, 32gb ddr3 1600mhz, Rx 480 8gb xfx black edition). I get massive performance drops from time to time with only about 30 mods installed which doesn't pertain to much other than a few light mods and 2k/4k textures. I also decided to try a higher spec card with the same mod load (gtx 980ti 6gb msi variant) I would still have occasional stutters quite often with sharp turns in game and such even when the fps counter still says 60. I'm thinking it's the age of the game and when it was made that is the limiting factor and there's only so much modders can do to the game. I've been babbling a lot so I'll get straight to the point. Do you guys think the new skyrim will be better optimized (on a newer engine) and will be able to run better with mods and without all the frame issue the game is plagued with. This could be an isolated incident but I've had others with much higher specs report the same thing. I tried to do some research and mean no harm I'm just trying to wrap my head around what Bethesda might do with the new remastered and if there is any point of getting it? Other than the fact that consoles obviously need it. Thanks for reading and let me know if there is something I need to know I love to learn!

Hello, i am trying to decide on what game to get. I can either 1. Buy Fallout 3 right now 2. Save up for Fallout 4 Which game do you guys think is better. (FYI i would be pushing the limits on the performance of my computer with Fallout 4) Thanks

Well this seems to be a bit disconcerting, if it turns out to be true. News from the Fallout 4 GECK beta test is that modding the game, disables achievements. Hopefully this is a bug or a glitch, but for some reason, I don't expect it to be. Source: http://segmentnext.com/2016/04/23/fallout-4-mods-wont-let-earn-achievements-install/ Personally, I find myself hoping that this is either some kind of bug, or applies only to consoles (if it turns out to be true). Why on earth would they do this? It's not like Fallout achievements are hard to get anyway.

Hello again. The build will be based on the new DOOM game. The Build will be entered in the Cooler Master world series Case mod. Intro: With this build I'm not going to try and better or match any other past doom builds, I'm just going to give my own style of the new Doom game how I see it and the only way I know how, And that is to mod the crap out of it. I hope you enjoy the ride. This build only has a 8 week life span as it must be done before the last day for entering the Cooler master world series. So I have a real lot of work to do to get it done in time. Before we get started I would like to thank all my new sponsors for believing in me, And for all your support you have given for this new build,. It means a lot to me. To start off here is some of the coolest gear from Cooler Master. Pun intended. The Master Pro 5 case that will be used in this build, as well as the CM 850 PSU, CM Silencio FP 120 PWM fans, And to top it off I will be painting a CM STORM MECH Keyboard to match the Master Pro 5 case. I will go into more detail for each item as the build moves along. To start of some photo, of the work I have done so far over the last week. MR creepy well that what I call him. and for some strange reason no one I know like the look of him. not sure why. He started off as two blocks of sign foam and glued together with a thin layer of body filler. and a rough drawing of where I think things go. The entire build will be done all by hand or hand tools. no 3d printing or any cnc used. Next the dremel come out to play. and some 120 grit sand paper. So far so good. ? Next is the Clay. Oh god now what, I'm thinking to my self! where to start ? Let me just say this is the first time I have tried doing some thing like this so it took some thinking before adding the clay. I used ping pong balls for the eyes as they looked close to the eyes so thats what i used. I have also started adding the space for the teeth which after doing all the top ones, i found that they where all to wide so later one I re-did them. More in a moment.

Greetings. Fallout 4 hits shelves in a bit, and I was interested in the game's open-world premise and post-apocalyptic setting. However, I'm also aware that Fallout 4 is one more entry in a rather large franchise. Is it advisable to start with Fallout 4, or should I go back and play older titles like Fallout 1, 2, 3, and New Vegas first? Regards, Aereldor.

Hey guys, I just opened fallout 4 about and hour ago and this happened.. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/388795474448573691/BD9AE7A0B2FC1AF809A676C40B432B57B3F967BA/?interpolation=lanczos-none&output-format=jpeg&output-quality=95&fit=inside|2048:864&composite-to=*,*|2048:864&background-color=black Does anybody know how to fix this? ALSO when I logged back on there seems to be a 20-40FPS drop and microstuttering which is SO annoying. This was not happening when I played two days ago..

I found a really good fallout 4 deal here: http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/fallout-4-pc-cd-key-steam And since I have the specs to run the game at ultra I wanted to take advantage of that. I was wondering if anyone else has ordered Fallout 4 or anything from this website and if it is trustworthy.
