My old Solo Beats finally kicked the bucket after a good 5 years of near daily use. I decided that I wanted something a bit better and would (hopefully) last longer, even though 5 years for headphones is a pretty long time. So, I picked up the Studio3's from Beats. (Apple) It's been probably 7-8 months since I got them, so here are the pros and of course with any good review, has the cons. THE PROS These headphones blow my old headphones out the water in terms of sound quality. Instruments are way more clear, bass has a greater punch, and it just sounds well balanced. I know that Beats to the audio geeks out there sound like speakers underwater, but to me they are great. They fit very well on me which helps since I wear them for 3-7 hours a day. Another big thing is noise cancelling. While I don't use it since it makes me feel like my head is in a glass bowl, you don't really need it. The padding and volume is enough for you to basically hear nothing in the outside world. Battery life is amazing since I can go almost a full week on a single charge and it takes maybe 30-45 minutes to fully charge. Battery life is needed in good headphones and these definitely deliver on that. THE CONS The selling point of these headphones, the noise cancelling, is the greatest con. You can't hear anything, so when someone is talking to you, you don't even notice they are. It can be annoying for people to try to talk to you and you are basically ignoring them, but (sometimes) you don't mean to. What I'm saying here is that the noise cancelling is too good, and I'm not complaining about that. The biggest issue is the non-users of these headphones, who are trying to talk to you in-person. Enough ranting, but just have your volume lower and noise cancelling off and you should be alright. CONCLUSION These headphones are great for everyday listening and have excellent battery life. Just have your volume lower when using these. Beats Studio3 Headset Rating: 9.5/10

I'm looking for wireless earbuds under $100 I found these https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-GUARANTEED-waterproof-high-performance-microphone/dp/B01EZ7HCEA%3Fpsc%3D1%26SubscriptionId%3DAKIAICE7LOAJMK3SSLPA%26tag%3Dpcm_buyitnow-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB01EZ7HCEA%26ascsubtag%3Dbf1921f0-0374-49ba-801d-6872a8639928 and http://www.bestbuy.com/site/beats-by-dr-dre-geek-squad-certified-refurbished-powerbeats2-wireless-earbud-headphones-black/4692015.p?skuId=4692015&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=5b4c7141-276a-4573-8324-4812002c6d07&ksprof_id=11&ksaffcode=pg123948&ksdevice=c&lsft=ref:212,loc:2

Woman was reportedly burned by Beats headphones, Apple blames 'third-party' AAA batteries The Verge: https://www.theverge.com/2017/5/19/15666082/apple-headphones-fire-flight-explosion-beats-battery Well this is horrible and yet another case of battery explosions. The technology industry better take a better stance on batteries. Battery manufacturer have got to make sure that this kind of stuff never happens. The cause for this incident by the looks of it was an old pair of Beats that used AAA batteries and the batteries that this user used malfunctioned an exploded. However this is all based of Apple's own investigation.

So I have an interesting question, being that Apple does own the company Beats, do you think that they would make a pair of headphones with a lightning connector specifically for their new iPhones?

Hello, My birthday is coming up soon and I want to ask my parents for Bluetooth earbuds since my apple earbuds are being used by my mom so I thought this is a decent request for my BD :3 I would say the budget is up to 100 euros and I found a few options but I just can't seem to choose Oh and this post is directed to the people who either own/use/know the earbuds mentioned next. My options are : 1.Jaybird X3 It's known and loved by Youtubers.. No wonder why I came across it. MSRP at 130 bucks but I can find it on amazon for 118 euros. Pros I found for it - Sounds good and you can customize the sound through the jaybird app - Water resistant which is good because I tend to wear headphones under the rain a lot Cons : - the charging doc for it is very weird and if lost it's hard to replace it. 2. Beats X. I first saw it being compared a lot to the jaybird X3 MSRP at 150 euros but It's being sold on amazon for 112 euros Pros: - Easy and fast connecting to Iphone with the W1 chip inside - only requires a lightning cable so I can charge it with my powerbank on the go - Fast charging Cons: - Apparently less base than the Jaybirds which is weird cause u know .. its Beats - No water resistance 3. Jaybird Freedom The reason I'm including these is because of the price.. At 200 euros MSPR , It's being sold for 70 bucks on amazon which is weird since the freedom 2 came out but it sounds the same . Pros: - way cheaper than the other 2 - also water resistant - sounds just as good as the Jaybird X3 Cons: - 4 hours battery life unlike 8 hours with the other headhpones which is the main reason I didn't straight up decide on these earbuds I know this is an objective topic but tell me if you had any experience with any of those headphones so hopefully that would help me decide upon one.

Hi Just wondering all looking for a good pair of wireless headphones.. I was looking at the Beats X and the powerbeats 3 they both look good, But I prefer the Beat X as they look better, They would be used general use college, running etc. Only problem I herd that the beats X isn't sweat proof but then I've also herd that it can hold up? I don't like the look of the powerbeats kinda look a bit off for casual use if you get me. any one have either of these? any other I should look out for?

Source: http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/19/9761480/beats-rose-gold-solo-2-urbeats This is truly something new to consumers who are looking for a pair of headphones, but I don't think that a color change justifies the higher price tag I'm wondering whether or not this will sell considering the fact that it's Beats and well....rose gold (still looks pink to me) It would definitely look great if you had a phone to match it with (iPhone 6S)

Hey guys, I am looking for a new pair of headphones. I would be using them for hearing music while traveling (to school, vacation...), but also for some sports, like some lifting and maybe seldom some running. I prefer over- and on ear headphones over the in ear ones. But because of using them for some sports I would really want them to be wireless. I would also be using them either from an IPad or from my Pc, so wireless would really be good. I have gotten recommended the Sony xb950bt, but I heard that it falls off pretty easy and that wouldn't be good during workouts. The only thing I really otherwise found was the beats solo 2 wireless or the studio wireless. (I know that many ppl dislike beats a lot, but they have really gotten better the past few years, so they are considerable now) But the studios are a little expensive. My price range is up to ca 220 euro. I would mainly be listening to electro, Pop, hip hop. So what would you guys recommend? Thanks in advance

I didn't imagine finding the correct headphone being this difficult. I have made a poll above where I have listed all headphones that I've been looking at (100€ or lower(there might be some variations in prices between headphones) (100€ = 108$ = 74£)). Please choose one of those which you think would fit best the following requirements: I want my headphones to be as versatile as possible. From listening at home to training at gym. (in ear in this category) I want my headphones to be very comfortable. (on ear or over ear at this category) I want my headphones to look cool. (in ear or Beats) I want my headphones to be very durable (at least one year...) I want my headphones to... sound good. Obviously. (in ear, on ear or over ear) Most important recommendations are underlined and bolded So please if you could vote for the best headphone that fits those requirements I would be very happy. (Also if you would like to describe why is your vote the best it would also help me a bit) Thank you for helping me.

Source: http://www.theverge.com/2015/11/13/9728088/beats-music-shutting-down-november-30th Source: http://gizmodo.com/beats-music-will-die-a-sad-lonely-death-later-this-mon-1742269065 Well, I'm not sure whether there are any Beats Music subscribers here, but I don't think this will impact the market that much It simply can't compete with Sound Cloud nor Spotify, it's due to the fact that it's interface is poorly done and its concept isn't as consumer-friendly as its competitors The funniest thing is the thing that really made it obsolete was Apple's own streaming service
-
Apple is preparing to launch its subscription based music service, but it faces a lot of competition on the market. To make it easier for them, The Verge reports that Apple is pushing music labels to prevent any sort of free music distribution, even if supported by ads, in favor of paying only. This move, if successful, is expected to dramatically reduce competition for Apple. According to The Verge, apple is being investigated by the Department of Justice for its business practices in the music industry with its upcoming Beats streaming service. This also includes YouTube Source: http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/4/8540935/apple-labels-spotify-streaming What do you think of this? Do you think Spotify has a chance to fight Apple's influence on the industry?

Hi. I want to buy new headphones. I already asked similar question on Head-Fi and as you may or may not know Head-Fiers hate Beats. So: I want headphones that are durable (will last at least two years everyday use). Comfortable (Can be worn for 4 hours or more. Basically marathon listening). Decent or good sound quality ( Good bass and Clarity). Good looks ("You just don't want to look like an idiot wearing your headphones outside"). Good sound isolation and low sound leakage (...For nine hour flights as example...). As you can already tell by the title: Beats Solo 2 or Shure Se215? Which headphones fit my requirements better? Music I listen to: "All about that bass", No classical, 80's, Disco, House, Pop, Some rock, Mainstream music (Taylor Swift) etc... I know that Beats are not an "audiophile headphone" thats why I am asking this at Linustechtips. I currently have stock Samsung earbuds that has only one working speaker and that's left... So I really need new headphones Also I have heard that Shure se215 cable isn't very durable. And you can't find replacement cables in my country (Finland) Could you tell me which one of those two would you pick? Thank you for checking out my thread and Double thank you for replying and leaving your opinion.

Hey Guys, I've been having issues with my new set up recently in which my front panel audio is registered as a communications headset which I cannot use to consume any media unless I disable the main speaker, the issue with this of course is that if I'm trying to live-stream OBS won't launch because my earphones can't be set as anything other than a communications headset which doesn't register as a proper audio device. So essentially I need a way to make my front panel my main audio device without being registered as a useless communications headset. I've looked online but all the solutions I find relating to this are through realtek which I don't have so I need a way through HP Beats audio on windows 8. Thank you for your time if any further info is required just ask. -OrdinaryBiscuit

I'm looking for a bluetooth stereo that is exceptionally good. The ones that I have heard in the past when bluetooth speakers first became a thing (Jawbone, etc.) were crap. I didn't see why people liked the Jawbone at all because it offered no bass and no clarity to sound. It was as if I spent a lot of money on a dozen laptop speakers. That being said, last summer I heard the Bose Bluetooth Soundlink 3 and was blown away by the bass and clarity of the sound that it produces. The Bluetooth Soundlink Mini was not nearly as good but still delivered pretty good bass and clarity, for its form factor at least. Both systems are the best I've heard for its price point and form factor. However, I know that there are now a ton of bluetooth speakers out there and I'm wondering if there are BETTER ALTERNATIVES TO THE ONES I'VE LISTED. Also, I like the Soundlink 3 more but it just seems a tad bit large (soundlink Mini's size is very good, though quality isn't as high), albeit a very very good product. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

The HP ENVY series of computers is known for integrating Beats Audio in the hardware and software. Actually, I think it's just a software thing. I have an HP ENVY m6-1184ca (A Canadian model, denoted by the "ca" suffix) which obviously features the Beats Audio, as there are three Beats logos on it. Yeah, I know. It's made blatantly clear and probably a pretty notable selling point for these laptops and desktops that do feature the Beats Audio. But I think Beats Audio is just a marketing gimmick because it does not make the laptop's speakers any better than other decent quality laptops, yet laptops that have Beats Audio cost notably more than those that don't, even if the specifications are the same. Yes, the speakers do sound decent, but they're nothing amazing. As a matter of fact, my mother's Toshiba Satellite, which is about the same age as my HP ENVY has better sounding speakers and they're pretty much the standard high quality audio solutions found in any high end laptop. So, as you can tell, I'm not a huge fan of Beats Audio. I'm not much of a fan of Beats by Dr. Dre to begin with. I don't hate them, I'm just not a big fan. I hear lots of negative things about them. What do you think about Beats Audio and Beats by Dr. Dre? Do you have a computer or phone with Beats Audio? What is your experience with them?
