SampledFutureFunk_ posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): $4000( ca 43 000 kr) but would rather go lower without affecting performance Country: Sweden Uses: I mainly need the pc for heavy 3D rendering and fast load times (Blender(sculpting, hardsurface modelling, artistic renders), UE5, Substance painter ect). Gaming too, but not a lot. Note: im going to upgrade to a new pc, so im going to selling this current pc. current pc: - RTX 3700 OC 8gb - ryzen 3700x - corsair vengenace 64 Gb(16x4) CL16 3200mhz. - corsair 750w 80+ gold - asus rog b550-f. - watercooling. - corsair 4000x. Other details: I have made an initiall parts list on pcpartpicker found below. I need help ensuring that I haven't missed anything incompatible with each other. Also, see if there is any unnecessary overspending. Its currently over budget. I have 3 monitors where two of them are 1440p and 1 is 1080p. I do the work on one of the 1440p monitors 170Hz. Im planning on buying this pc in the coming weeks. initial list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xMzH7R Thanks in advance! -
Buying RAM for Gigabyte GA-H170-Gaming 3
doyojo6231 posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I have the motherboard listed in the title: Gigabyte GA-H170-Gaming 3. I want to buy RAM for it, so I wanted to ask which would be better of the following, and why: 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3600MT/s CL17 FURY Beast Black XMP Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM (Single Module) 1RX8 17-21-21 1.35V 288-pin 8Gbit Spec Sheet OR 8GB (1x8GB) DDR4 3200MT/s CL16 FURY Beast Black XMP Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM (Single Module) 1RX8 16-18-18 1.35V 288-pin 8Gbit Spec Sheet I want the total to be 16GBs so I'll buy two of the better one. Thank you all. -
Hello, I got myself an EXP GDC (NGFF) and connected it to a Clevo NK50SE Barebone with a Intel Core i7 10th gen (Desktop), 32 GB DDR4 3200MHz, and an integrated GTX 1660 Ti. The bios seems to be the insyde H2O UEFI BIOS v 1.07.05. The eGPU that I want to connect is a NVIDIA RTX 2080 Super Founders edition. It gets detected in both GNU/Linux (primary, Ubuntu (21.04 LTS) because of compatibility) and Windows 10. I tried to run Blender and Minecraft on Windows with the GTX 1660 Ti disabled, but both programs complain about the GPU not supporting OpenGL and won't start. I can imagine that it would be fixed when the dGPU would be disabled in the UEFI BIOS, but I can't find something like that. I am ok with flashing another bios. Thank y'all in advance lorhof1

Hi Team, Thought I would test Aida64 today. Test time, 5 minutes on each setting. Settings: Picture 1: Stress CPUPicture 2: Stress CPU + FPUPicture 3: Stress CPU + FPU + Cache Picture 3 show the highest voltage but lower temps than pic 2, and the CPU stress on it's own I was quite happy with (however I'm not really sure what I'm looking at). Opinions? CPU: i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6GHz Thanks, Kurt

Hello, I am interested in the External GPU docking station from Beast and wonder if I can fit it onto my laptop. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad W541 with a Quadro K1100m and an i7-4710MQ. The beast external GPU connects to a laptop through a mini pci-e port but I noticed my laptop has a spare NGFF slot. Online I have found a NGFF to mini PCI-e adapter and I wonder if I can just use that and connect the Beast to my laptop through the NGFF slot? On a sidenote, this laptop has the option of connecting to a docking station. Those docking stations have an ethernet connection, would it be possible to connect the external gpu to something inside the docking station? Because that would be extremely usefull. I plan on installing a graphics card in my laptop using the EXP GDC Beast, but what do I need to know first in order to do this? How do I know which graphics card my CPU will support without it being bottlenecked, and what else could potentially be bottlenecking it? I have no experience within this, so I would appreciate any sort of aid.

Got a project at work, and I am looking to getting 1-2 touchscreen TV's that either use a thin-client, or built in computer - Windows 10 OS. Any suggestions, or what's the ones y'all use? The use will be to either run a simple program of machine monitoring, and running a couple excel sheets (that can get very complex)

Hi guys, I think everyone is familiar with this setup.. but I need help. Laptop: Asus UX303LN -Intel® Core™ i7 4510U Processor, -NVIDIA® GeForce® 840M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM -8GB DDR3 RAM -IPS FHD (1920x1080) -256GB SSD -Win 10 I have: -Palit GTX 970 -V8.0 EXP GDC NGFF -750w Generic PSU -6Pin to 6 and 6+2 Cable for V8.0 EXP GDC Beast Video Card Dock I set everything up as is. -Connected PSU cables to Beast -Connected additional 6pin to 6 and 6+2 Cable for additional power for GTX 970 -Removed Wifi Adapter -Connected NGFF Cable in that slot and connected it to Beast HDMI port. -Disabled GT840m via Device Manager -Run UDD (Uninstall Display Drivers) -installed latest 398.11 Driver from Nvidia -GTX 970 get fully recognizable and working properly status. -Then connected DisplayPort via GPU (DP to VGA adapter) displays successfully to the other monitor (very old one using VGA). -Also connected Sony Bravia TV via Regular HDMI to HDMI to (HDMI mini Adapter) to GTX 970 (Apparently, this card have Type C HDMI, mini).. and I guess this adapter is not working because my Sony Bravia TV had been "no input signal" where as connected via DP, at least it has some output. Issue: When I drag any window to the external monitor. It crashes. Games load properly on internal monitor, but crashes when moved to the external monitor. Sometimes, it goes to BSOD or lags too much and very unusable. I hope anyone can help.. I haven't sleep all night and I went straight to work without sleep. I can't stop figuring things out. I will provide photos later for reference once I got home. Here are the complete lists of stuff I ordered via Lazada PSU: https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i165192122-s204697778.html?spm=a2o4l.order_list.detail_image..30123e17c4MLAL&urlFlag=true&mp=1 Beast: https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i141140389-s160534579.html?spm=a2o4l.order_list.detail_image..30123e17c4MLAL&urlFlag=true&mp=1 6pin to 6 and 6+2 Pin: https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i109648733-s111340961.html?spm=a2o4l.order_list.detail_image..30123e17c4MLAL&urlFlag=true&mp=1 HDMI to HDMI Mini Adapter: https://www.lazada.com.ph/-i217346303-s283468128.html?spm=a2o4l.order_list.detail_image..15ae3e17BQxSoB&urlFlag=true&mp=1 GPU: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Palit-Nvidia-GeForce-Graphics-Express/dp/B00NPRH3P0 Thank you, Gerald Pasion Philippines

This is my new rig! Moved from a i5 2400, GTX 780 (that broke down) and no SSD in a 2008 $20 case to this... I'm very happy. Specs: - i7 8700k - GTX 1080 Ti (EVGA GAMING) - Cosrair Vengeance LPX (3200 MHz) (2x8GB) - Samsung 960 Evo (500 GB) - AsRock Fatal1ty Gaming K6 - Corsair RM850x - Lian Li PC-O11WX - 6x Noctua NF-F12 PPC PWM, 2x Noctua NF-A8 PWM The cables were hand made in my kitchen. Thank you everyone that helped me with my questions, there was a lot of first timers for me with this build! CPU runs 5.0 GHz @ ~1.33v at the moment, temps are unknown as I'm still having some little problems, most likely the delid went wrong, so needs fixing in about a week. GPU runs 2050/6055 MHz in the 44C range on full load.

Fans of the EXP GDC have been asking us to do a video on it for years. We hadn’t up until this point because the user experience was kind of terrible. It still is. Buy a Gigabyte Gaming Box On Amazon: http://geni.us/OHj0B On Newegg: http://geni.us/vqL2B

Hello everyone! I am building a new pc for gaming, video editing, photography etc. It needs to be able to do everything with no issues. Below is a list of parts that I currently plan on purchasing for the build. Yes, I do understand that some of these parts are overkill but, this build also needs to look sexy. The part colors should all be around silver/white/black. Must have a M.2 slot for OS and of course, max performance. The SSD is temp storage and a middle man while editing 4K video. My 2TB HDD for games, VM's, huge video files etc. Once again, some of these parts are not on https://pcpartpicker.com so they are listed as "Other". Keep the price under $3850. If you want to change something and say something is better, please explain why and your personal experience with the item. Introduction So, like many people out there I've become bored with my simple quad core CPU rig and have decided to step up my game, big time- to dual Xeon E5-2670's on socket LGA 2011 with 64GB's of DDR3 ECC RAM. Now, you may be asking yourself "Jack why the fuck do you need 16 cores, 32 threads, and 64GB's of DDR3 ECC RAM!?!" and that's a very valid question. I do a LOT of video and photo editing as well as a lot of 3D rendering in Cinema4D plus I LOVE to mess around with virtual machines, and so I found that my pleb i5-4690k was just not holding up, at least in those productivity scenarios- as it was / is perfectly fine for all my gaming needs. Without further delaying, I present to you... The Beast Box Specs Intel Xeon E5-2670*** Intel Xeon E5-2670*** Cooler Master Gemini II*** Cooler Master Gemini II*** Intel Dual LGA 2011 Socket Motherboard*** 16x 4GB's 1600Mhz DDR3 ECC Samsung RAM*** Gigabyte Windforce Geforce GTX 750ti* 240GB OCZ Trion 150 SSD* 4TB Seagate NAS Drive 4TB Seagate NAS Drive EVGA Supernova 850W B2 80+ PSU*** Rosewill RSV-R4000*** Rosewill 120MM Fan 4 Pack** Rosewill PCI-E USB 3.0 Card*** Generic PCI-E 5.1 Sound Card*** * = Already Own ** = Ordered *** = Received Updates 6/15/16 Today I purchased the Intel Dual LGA 2011 motherboard as the quantity was limited and it was an offer I couldn't pass up, only $199 plus $15 shipping versus nearly $330 plus shipping for any of the other dual socket LGA 2011 motherboards on EBay. I also ordered the two Cooler Master Gemini II CPU coolers which should be enough to cool those CPU's, come Friday I hope to have my whole PC sold and by the end of next week I should have enough money to order everything except the 4TB HDD's which I'll be acquiring in the future so in the mean time a 1TB Western Digital Blue will suffice, with an additional 2TB's of NAS. 6/16/16 Today I sold off the rest of my rig on /r/HardwareSwap and all the money should be in my PayPal by the end of next week, so I'll be able to purchase the rest of the components then. HYPEEEEE. 6/21/16 So my motherboard came into and this thing is not only fucking huge, but absolutely gorgeous- I'm still waiting on the money to become available to my paypal but once it does the rest of the items will be ordered! Just ordered the CPU's, CPU Coolers, as well as some case fans. Once I receive the rest of my money through PayPal I'll be ordering the RAM, and Chassis. 6/22/16 So today my USB 3.0 Card and Sound Card came in and are working perfectly Could not be happier with how this is coming along. 7/01/16 The build is complete, I've also ran some benchmarks and this thing is an ABSOLUTE BEAST! Questions / Comments / Concerns I'd love to hear what you guys have to say, so let me know if you guys have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this build as well as constructive criticism and other ideas. Thanks, Jack Gerrior (aka Jacktastic-Mofo)
