I am looking for a new GPU. I have found a RX 580 8gb for roughly $350 US. I wondered whether this is a good price and also whether the card is the right one for me? I want to play Rainbow six, battlefront 2, F1 2021. My current spec is a Ryzen 5 3600 with an R9290 GPU Any advice appreciated

So I got Battlefront when it came out, and of course was disappointed. Since then I have bought a used ASUS GTX 970 STRIX from Amazon. (couldn't afford new) Now i have seen some BSOD's and driver issues with this card so far, but nothing consistent, until I decided I would try out Battlefront again. After waiting for a big patch, i tried to find a game, I get in the game, and start choosing a gun... Game crashes to desktop, with message stating there was not enough memory (of 4gb) to add another element, thus crashing DX. I mess around with the settings, same each time, then I set it to Low, and it runs just fine for 10 minutes. I then set it to Ultra in-game, and my computer BSOD's. This perplexes me as I had a 270X from Sapphire before, and it ran Ultra no problem. It only had 2gb of VRAM, and I never ran into any issue what-so-ever. The new GPU has 4gb, and on top of that, is even faster. Interestingly I had bought the NVIDIA because i was sick of the glitches from AMD, and although I have seen BSOD's and various glitches, my experience is better on the NVIDIA than the AMD. So here are the questions: Is there a tool i can use to stress test my GPU? Anything I can do as far as Battlefront is concerned, to avoid this issue? Should I expect my GTX970 to run Battlefront on Ultra?

Okay where to start... I have been playing Star Wars Battlefront for a while now for no problems.. unitll yesterday. I started the game up without any problems. I then go to multiplayer, and choose the 12 player match. As soon as I get to customizing my character, the screen goes black. Ctrl Alt Delete usually doesn't work, and the windows button doesnt work either. WHAT THE HECK I then have to completely shut down my computer using the power button. I have a couple Ideas on what may have caused this problem to occur: Earlier in- game, it would say "Bad connection, this will affect gameplay" My internet speeds are at 250+ mbps and like 20ms latency so I don't THINK that's the problem.. I originally had 6gb of ram in my system, (1x4, 1x2) but I took the 2gb stick out to restore an old Dell system... this leaves me with 4gb of ram in single channel... not the best amount of ram. It might have gone below the system requirements. It you have any ideas on what I should do, please reply with any information. Thanks!

As you all know, as of April 26, 2018, Microsoft added BFII and BF to the backwards compatible list. They however, failed to add multiplayer compatibility or any way to emulate a LAN connection, thus dooming the game to single player only. My friends and I have been looking forward to recapturing the days of Galactic Conquest in our college dorm; many nights fueled by poorly made Starbucks coffee and breakfast burritos from the Highland market. We've even tried to set up an intricate VPN net through our laptops to try and run a pseudo-LAN connection (mc0023 is the genius behind that one). If GoG can put those servers back online, what is stopping Microsoft? What we want is very simple: Microsoft gets the servers back online, or we the community do it in spite of them.

Mostly for 8 year old nephew, his dad will probably play too. Nephew does like Star Wars. What game is least likely to get boring for $60? Thanks

The new Battlefront II is pay to win scaled up to a ridiculous degree. It costs $80. No one should support it. On the other hand, the legacy version has been given multiplayer support, and everyone starts the round with the same exact base weapons and has the ability to upgrade through their classes required skill, like headshots or slices. It costs around $5 or 10 on Steam. Can someone help me make a decision on which to buy for Christmas?

Hi everyone despite of what's happening to battlefront I'm feel tempted to buy it because I'm a star wars fan. I would like your opinion if I should buy it or buy another games like rainbow six siege or cs, etc.

Hello ya'll, so I guess when reading through the recent backlash EA got my ranting side decided to join in on the 'fun' You can read my post on reddit here. I do not say/think you should/must agree with my opinion and vision on this. Even better, I'm looking how the LTT forum look at gaming in its current state. PC/Console & mobile Since this is all opinion, I advise anyone to treat them as such. Do not force your opinion on others, you can explain why you think it is "Z", but if he/she is 100% standing on the "X". You should let it be. Fire your gu..n.. opinions!

As part of an awareness campaign, against "Trick-Thievery" (con-artists), the police or northern Jutland in Denmark in a Tweet today, took shots at the new Star Wars Battlefront 2 game, when they tweeted out: "Have you, or someone you know, been victims of Trick-Thievery? Or did you just happen to buy Star Wars Battlefront II? Then join us here, and avoid being tricked [Link]" I find it most amusing that the police has a sense of humor on the topic, along with being pretty "up to speed" with current event. I hope it's allowed to post this in the Tech section. Link:

Source: https://kotaku.com/ea-temporarily-removes-microtransactions-from-star-wars-1820528445 After getting the lowest score in the history in Metacritic, with the user score of 0.9 , I believe gamers have made their voice loud and clear that loot box are not welcome to stay especially for full price titles. Hopefully this will deter other greedy developers from implementing loot boxes in their games.

I started playing Star Wars Battlefront (2015) at a friends house, and I really enjoy it (especially skirmish). I've heard that Battlefront II is annoying with all the in-game purchases and high price tag. Which one would you guys recommend?

I've recently had the Star Wars bug again. I've been a fan since I watched A New Hope at six years old. Here I am twenty years later and I'm re-watching all the films, finally giving The Clone Wars and Rebels a chance (they're not actually that bad) and I got the bug to play Republic Commando. Damn what a great game it is. As usual whenever I play this game I hopelessly typed "Imperial Commando" into Google and some interesting leaks came up. It looks like we may actually see it come, finally. I'm wondering how they're going to do it though. Will it be a separate game, or will it be the Campaign for Battlefront 2? In a way I'd actually almost prefer the latter. Battlefront isn't a bad game overall, just lacking content and not worth the asking price with too much emphasis on overpriced DLC's. I think EA and DICE could really redeem themselves by calling the next Battlefront "Star Wars Battlefront: Imperial Commando" and using their current multiplayer base for that side with an Imperial Commando campaign that follows on from the original Republic Commando. Being EA they'll want to make money from DLC so they could remaster Republic Commando and sell us the original campaign too. What do you guys think?

All of my friends are console gamers (I know, gross), so even though we share the love of Battlefront, I can't play with any of those subhuman molerats who refuse to play PC. I'm looking for people to add as friends on Origin and play casually with. If you're interested, just let me know.

Hi! I'm thinking of buying and I'm hesitant with plonking down $60. I'm only a student with a part-time job (commission based) so money doesn't come by easily. Do you think I'll enjoy the game? I'm proficient in COD4, MW2, BC2, BF3, and BF4 and I enjoyed every bit of those games (COD4 and BC2 being my favorites). I tried to play Source, CS:GO, and TF2. I can hold some ground on Source and CS:GO but I am totally lost when it comes to TF2. It's so confusing when there's so many players and the fact that it's hard to get a kill (at least for me). Anyone out there who loves COD and/or BF games that enjoy/struggle with Overwatch? Would love to here from you guys! ps COD4 is best COD

From the creators of battlefield I expected good flying mechanics from them. Not this sudo War Thunder flying, lets all face it. It's horrible. I have my X52 that I use for Elite Dangerous and BF4. The X52 would be wonderful. But no joystick support. This is hard as hell even for the casual gamer. I had my friend come in that only plays War Thunder, and he can't land a single shot on a group of soldiers right in front of him while he is in an Air Vehicle. Now I love Star Wars, and I really wanted this game to be the best. But this one thing is just ruining the experience for me and many others. Battlefront on KB/Mouse is a 3/10. On controller it is 7/10.

Hi everyone! (this is my first post, I´m sorry if I had done something wrong) A Good friend of mine just bought Starwars battlefront and noticed, it doesn´t run on the Laptop wich he shares with his parents. So he asked me what PC he should buy. If he should go with a DELL optiplex or a Alienware and so on. I told him that we can just build one for him. The build is for 1080p, singlescreen gaming, but he wants to get started with some editing too. The Budget is about 950.- and should cover a CPU,MoBO,RAM,GPU,PSU,SSD,HDD, Peripherals and Windows 10. I made a basic configuration. Is this build reasonable? Please notice, I live in switzerland, wich means that Prices are really akward. Nvidia Cards are way cheaper than AMD ones here. Also: the hardware list to chose from is very limited - intel core I5 4460 (NON-K) (will be running with boxed cooler) - Gigabyte GA-H81M-D2V rev.1 - Patriot Viper 8gb Kit (Basically the cheapest 8gb kit available here) - Geforce GTX 960 Windforce 2x OC (2gb gddr5), (basically the cheapest 960 available here) - Samsung EVO 850 Basic, 120gb (the cheapest SSD available here) - 500W Coolermaster B500 V2 (I want to give him some expandability options for the future, but still the cheapest 500w PSU) - 1tb Seagate HDD (once again, the cheapest I found) - Coolermaster gaming Devastator Bundle (The best bang for the buck peripherals here) - Windows 10 home (obvious) - free case (my old PC case, thermaltake commander MS-i) - free Screen (my old 1080p panel) in switzerland, this tops out at about 960.- total (934 Dollars) Would you consider this a good gaming PC? Like I said before, it should run battlefront without hickups, should completely dominate minecraft and support my dear friend for the next few years. (once he´s out of school and is working, he can just sell the 960 to me and upgrade his graphics to whatever he can afford) I thank you for your response

What do you think my fps will be on Star Wars Battlefront at Ultra settings also what do you think I would have to do to get 120 fps? I wanna have something to expect before I play the beta. I know the beta wont be entirely accurate since it is a beta but the game is coming out in little over a month so I feel the beta is a accurate representation of the finished game. Also will it utilize Direct X12 on Windows 10? ========================================================================================================= System Specs: GTX 970 I7 4790k 8GB Of Ram Windows 10 144hrz Monitor (No G-Sync) I have at least 40 GB of HDD space

PC Requirements listed - Pretty generic minus the recommended memory... http://www.gamespot.com/articles/star-wars-battlefronts-pc-system-requirements-reve/1100-6431176/ That's a lot of memory... the data sets pushed from disk to memory and the game engine must be huge.
