Not sure if this is the right subforum, but its still tech related and that's partially what i need help with. I have a 2022 Impreza Sport hatchback, and I was looking for something that would improve the audio setup. It has a good sound to start, but when listening to things like heavy metal, the heavy and constant bass/low notes tend to mush together with everything else, and I was wondering if there was a small subwoofer or something that I could redirect the lower notes to. I don't know much about audio at all, so if there's a better solution than that, let me know. IDK if this is important or not, but I bought the car new with all the warranties, so something that would potentially void that would probably be off the table. I also don't want to spend a crazy amount of money. Any help/recommendations are appreciated, thanks!

So I recently got myself a nice pair of Corsair Virtuoso XT headphones. They sound clear. The issue is they have little to no bass. Even at 50%+ volume which I normally run at 35%-40% volume for games and music on my PC. I have iCUE installed, doesn't help. Tried my motherboards front panel audio, doesn't help. Tried using Dolby Atmos, DTS X Ultra, etc. Nothing. No punch bass. The sounds also get crackly when I play certain songs. I am running at the max frequency of 96kHZ. Which is what the headset can support up to with dual channel stereo. Am I missing something? Is there some sort of software I can use that amps up the volume of headphones and let's me modify bass stuff without a DAC? It could be a user error thing. But I'm running through USB C-USB A on my motherboards front panel audio. There's just no bass to these things. I have the firmware updated, iCUE 5.0x, it's all just distorted at random times and there is like no deep bass. EQ either doesn't help or makes things worse. These are brand new.

My old Turtle Beach headphones finally gave out after years of use last week and I'm looking for a new pair to use for gaming, music, and virtual school. I though that Corsairs HS70 Pro Carbon looked good. Some other notes are that I like bass and I want to also wear these while playing vr with my quest (Link). Do you guys think they're good and do you have any other suggestions? I don't know a lot about headphones so any advice on what else to look for would be appreciated. I've seen people complimenting the sony wh1000-xm4 as "experiencing home theater level performance" on the internet. Also people saying audiophile headphones sounds flat & no bass. Does xm4 really have that level of performance or should I manage my expectations? Is audiophile headphones just for the studio people?

Hi, I don't post here or come on the forums often, but I've recently gotten back into using headphones, I just recently bought a SBx G6 because I thought it was like the battery-less version of the e5 that almost blew up on me but no mic unfortunately lol. Anyways, I've had a pair of AKG M220s for a while I like them a lot but I find they lack in bass for my liking a lot, I listen to A LOT of everything mostly EDM or 90s dance music, or old school hip-hop and a lot of 70s 80s rock, but I also find myself dabbling in a lot of instrumental violin or even classical. So I'd like to find a pair of headphones that do it all really well but i can still use my AKG's for the classical and stuff that doesn't require the bass. I am a bit of a bass head coming from car audio where you slap 2 12" subs throw 1200 watts to it and call it a day, but I do concern myself with powerful mids and highs, but I can't exactly do that with a pair of headphones lol. So I guess what I'm trying to ask is for some moderately priced over ear headphones lets say $250 CAN max that can hit lows really well but not be unable to do clear mids and highs (probably looking at multi drivers but hopefully not too expensive), must have 3.5mm jack or at least 1/4" (I do have an old receiver that I can hook my SB to), and it's gotta be pretty comfortable for long use like 4 hours plus, I spend almost too much time listening to music sometimes, and a little louder than my m220's (I got that receiver when I was a kid and blew out my ears with IEM's before I knew what clipping was so a little hearing impaired lol). Now to be clear I don't exactly want these headphones to be shaking off my head but just a clear vibration or something. Also if you guys have any recommendations on a stupid cheap mic under $50 preferably cheaper the better that'll have some decent audio for discord let me know. And lastly any recommendations for a kind of upbeat or soothing classical would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance guys :)

Hey- I'm looking for some reasonable desktop speakers for everyday use (Gaming, Movies, Youtube, nothing specific). Currently I have integrated audio from my monitor, which suprisingly is pretty good, and can be compared to a First-gen echo. I'm looking for something pure and basic, obviously without a dac, amp, none of that. I don't really have a certain budget, But I'd say not to stray too far past $100, and if there's a better more budget-friendly option, I would ask you to reccomened that as well. I don't particularly care if it's Bluetooth or wired, as the positioning will be fairly convient for either. Otherwise if you think there's some audio device just over than $100, then I probably will consider it. I don't have any special needs, but I do ask that if you can find something that can maintain good clarity with some extra bass, that would be great, but It's not a need. Any input helps. Thanks

Hello all! I've just purchased the ALEX CAVALLI TUBE HYBRID AMP and GRACE DESIGN STANDARD DAC. I have always been into audio, but never really pulled the trigger. I was looking to pair the two with the SENNHEISER HD 58X JUBILEE HEADPHONES, so I purchased them too. Sometimes I feel extremely torn between them, as it sometimes seems (from what people say) the 6XX are somehow just a waaay superior headphone. About me: I do like quite a neutral sound signature, but my "secret pleasure" is and always has been a bit of bass (definitely not muddy or overpowered, just present, if you know what I mean - to make the music sound more "alive"). Now I do understand that the HD 58X/6XX are not basshead headphones and I am perfectly okay with that. But you should also know that I am not looking to analyse or monitor my music or equipment, but rather to listen to the actual music and, of course, enjoy it. And this is where we come to my decision about purchasing the HD 58X over the HD6XX's... from what I've read it seems like the HD 6XX headphones are a bit more "sterile", analytical and cooler sounding, while the HD58X (which are intended to be pretty much my daily driver for movies, gaming and music listening - mixed genre) are a bit warmer, have a touch more bass and are just more enjoyable and easy to listen to. I know they don't really need an amp for the most part, but I really wanted to get a setup that would be able to support maybe even some other harder to drive headphones in the future and I was hoping that the tube (I know it's a hybrid, but still) would help with the smoothness and warmth - at least a bit. About the drivers: What's also gotten me worried is that the 6XX's use pretty much the same driver as the original HD 650 (basically a $500 pair of headphones), but the HD 58X use a newer driver, that is apparently NOT the same as the HD 660 S (as confirmed by Sennheiser, apparently).. and so at this point I am asking myself: is the $170 price on Massdrop right now actually worth it? What if I am actually getting a much much cheap driver that was just tuned to sound good? - I do realise this is a funny and stupid thing to be worried about, but still.. I believe it is an interesting aspect of this situation to at least consider taking a look at. So this brings me to the question: did I make the right choice based on what I'm looking for, because sometimes forums, videos on YT and reviews online make me feel like I should have gotten the HD 6XX instead? I would really appreciate your input. Thank you all in advance!

What's the best receiver to use for Sony xplod 12inch car speakers?? I'm going to use my laptop for music at a party but want to use what I have instead of spending more money than needed. I have 2 Sony Xplod 12inch sub speakers from an old car I got rid of and want to out them to use at home or for outdoor parties. I know I need the receiver for power in place of the amp, but how much power will the speakers need? I'm thinking 2400watts because they're 1200w a piece but not sure.

Hello, I recently upgraded components in my PC (motherboard, CPU) and installed a fresh version of Windows 10. Since then, I have noticed that, when I have headphones on, low Hz sounds are much louder in my left headphone than right. Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero I have tried: multiple headphones (turning them around to confirm that its the headphone and not my hearing), installing and reinstalling Realtek audio, uninstalling drivers, disabling headphone enhancements. I do not have a soundcard. Does anyone have any insight into this issue?

I went riding in my friends car once and he had this huge speaker in his trunk. It had LOTS of bass and that got me addicted to base so now im looking for some brain-rattling speakers. I need something that is budget has a speaker and sub woofer in it. Right now I am using Creative Inspire T12. They have great sound but weak bass.

So i'm just wondering in the forms here if there are any bass players. Both upright or guitar. I myself play both the upright and the bass guitar. My 4 string is a Toby Deluxe IV, and my 5 string is Treben Phoenix My Upright Bass.. I do not know the brand out of the top of my head but it is a Romanian bass.

So I need some speakers or a speaker tower that has a small footprint that I can put in my dorm. I don't have a huge amount of space for a soundbar and subwoofer but I could probably make space if it was worth it. I don't want it to be super expensive either, I'd like it to be less than £50 because I don't play music through speakers a huge amount. I see it kind of as a breach of privacy because people listen from outside or the next room (idk I'm weird) but then again I want to be able to listen to my music without having headphones or earbuds on me. I enjoy a good amount of base but I don't want some muddy garbled sound. I found this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PUH6RXM/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=A2VG3212FDIQWH&th=1) which seems to be exactly what I'm looking for but there's also the WX (found on the same page) that is £60 but seems to be smaller (which is good) and more the kind of thing I buy 3 or 4 of to play music around a house. Any help would be great thanks!

I'm moving on from my HyperX Clouds (which disappointed me) to either the SE215s or the Momentum "In-Ears" (I say "In-Ears" because I think that they recently received a name change) but it's a lot of trouble to decide between them. First off, the sound. I listen to a wide variety of genres so picking one would be hard but I guess you could say I listen to more "energy boosting" songs... I'll just list a few examples: Alchemy by Mint Potion, a Rhythm and Blues song I'm fond of. Red Like Roses II by Jeff Williams and Reluctant Heroes by Hiroyuki Sawano (Covered by NateWantsToBattle), two, I suppose, rock songs I listen to on a frequent basis. Asgore by Toby Fox (Covered by Lollia), it's an "orchestral arrange"... Neon by Jeff Williams, it's a pretty... smooth song... I should've run a quick crash course on genres... Secondly, the build quality. I really don't care about the best kind of comfort, I'm sure both IEMs are reasonably comfortable to keep wearing for hours but what I'm really concerned about is the durability. Sure, the SE215s have detachable cables but I'm not in the luxurious position to order replacements in case they break. Which is the IEM that can survive a beatdown from an average person for more than 2 years That would be all, just wanna say this again: I really didn't like the HyperX Clouds, they're a wasted investment for me, it was most probably due to the lack of an AMP from my side but I'm the kind of guy who listens to music on his phone as well as his laptop, not just his desktop. Carrying an AMP around shouldn't have to be the way to roll when I want to listen to music. So all in all or... TL;DR: Should I buy the Shure SE215s or Sennheiser Momentum "In-Ears"

Hey guys! This is my first post, so excuse me if I make any mistakes. I have a pair of Sennheiser 598 Se's which I find have too much bass for my liking. I almost exclusively listen to jazz music, and I find that the double bass sounds muddy and is too loud in these headphones. From my computer, the bass is too loud but not unbearable. I have a Teac AI 101 DA speaker/headphone amplifier/dac that I can plug them into, but the bass is even louder when plugged in to the Teac. Could this issue be solved with a different headphone amp or dac, or is this just a characteristic of the Sennheiser hd 598 Se? Thank you!

Hello guys, I'm looking for recommendations on over ear headphones that are loud and have a bassy tone. This is mainly because I listen to EDM music. I do listen to all genres, but my go to is EDM. I love a good sound quality with bass, so if you could recommend something for a relatively midrange budget of say £60 ($75) up to higher range of £150 ($185). Thanks, Rhys

So i just lost my 5th pair of wired earbuds in a short amount of time due to the cable breaking at the 3.5mm jack end. because of this, i thought i would just spend a little extra and never worry about cables again by going fully wireless! now here's the thing, i've been looking around for wireless earbuds for a while, and every single one i vieuwed has poor sound quality, or atleast poor bass. me being a bass junkie, that is a definite no-go. so my question, are there any fully wireless earbuds on the market right now with atleast acceptable levels of bass and sound quality? thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! Could you help me in choosing new IEMs with better than average bass response under 200$? I used to own a pair of Westone UM Pro 10s, they were pretty good(a bit flat maybe +not so much bass) but unfortunately a common error occured: the balaced armature moved in the housing, so sound couldn't pass through the canal properly. I'm looking forward to ideas! PS: I'd use them at home/while commuting
