Hey, fellas. First off, I'd like to apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong thread. Unless I missed it (Which is quite likely) I couldn't find a more fitting place to ask for assistance with this. Now, the real problem: I'm in desperate need of a new desk chair, but I know nothing about em'; Size, brands, reliability, or what to look for. It's all foreign speak to me, so I find myself in quite a bind. Tried reading other forums, reviews, etc, but none really gave me any good leads and felt more like they were based on what was the most gamery a gamer could game on. I also couldn't make heads or tails of some of the more in-depth reviews, so I was really hopin' some folk here more knowledgeable than I could spare some assistance. Ya' see, my current chair has been bothering me quite badly for a bit now. The hydraulic(?) or whatever is used to increase it's height has given up the ghost and is constantly dropping itself almost to the floor. As a moderately tall fellow, this makes it an ergonomic nightmare for me. Secondly, this thing's killer on my lower back and legs. I regularly get up to stretch or do some light exercises to help just generally, but if I'm in this thing for more than a few hours, which is quite common as I do college online and keep gettin' sucked into all the great games this year, I end up going to bed feeling like I took a Chevy to my lumbar and scoliosis will be on me come morning. I put my pillow on it which helps a bit, but only delays the inevitable really. Again, I know nothin' about what to look for or size or all that, so here's just some general information for anyone if it could help lead to a better discovery; I'm about 6'1" (185-ish cm) and 157lbs, with some real long legs and a tall desk that make it so I need the chair to sit high to be comfortable and not be splayed out like that old South Park WoW player. Don't really care none about design, aesthetics, or fancy features like heating and cooling. I'm purely interested in ergonomics and makin' sure I don't end up the Hunch Back of Notre Dame before I even finish my degree. General pain, soreness, stiffness, etc in my current chair is largely in my lower back and my legs. Don't really know anything about brands, but I'd really anything new to be durable and last as long as possible. Had a DXRacer(?) once as a gift, and the material got all flakey after a few years. Still haven't fully managed to remove it all from my carpet. Don't much care for material, so long as it's comfortable and doesn't leave me sweating like a pig in heat in the hellish summers I have to deal with. Don't have any material allergies either. Only requirement here is no genuine leather or other animal based products, for personal reasons. Never found leather chairs comfortable any how. As for cost, I saw some truly hellish prices during my searches. Seriously who in the hell is willin' to shell for $3.4k for a chair?! I ain't flush with cash at the current, but I'm genuinely concerned enough about my spinal health that I'm willin' to dig into my emergency savings if need be, so my cap is $1,400 MAX, and I would REALLY like to get nowhere close to that if able... And that's about all I can think of at current, though if there's any other specifics I'm not thinking of, I'll answer as fast as I can. Thanks for takin' the time to read this if ya' got this far, and apologies again if this is the wrong thread for this, but I'm genuinely in a bind here, so if there's anyone that can render aid I would be more than grateful. I'll keep looking at at other options as well, but it's hard for me to tell anything about a chair sight-unseen. Thanks again!

So, my old Logitech F710 is starting to die. I've been wanting to get a new controller for some time but can't decide which. I prefer the looks of a PlayStation one but issues such as DS4 windows / input mapper are quite an off put compared to just...plug and play of the xbox one. Which would you recommended? Feel free to add others cause Idc

Asus crosshair VI hero back plate help
PhantomCards posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Ok so i finally got all my pc parts on the mail! But i found out that my Nzxt Kraken X62 didnt come with a AM4 bracket.....I thought they were shipping them with the bracket. But i found out that the asus crosshair VI actually supports AM4 and AM3 back plates. Unfortunately there arnt many pc shops in my area....and nzxt will probably take weeks to send me a AM4 bracket. I learned that the corsair AM4 bracket is exactly the same ao i can actually order one from them. But i met a guy and he gave me this thing....is this a AM3 bracket and do you guys think this will work? -
Hey, so I spend a lot of time in bed on my laptop, and lately my back has began to hurt a bit... I'm not staying in an ergonomic position either... Is there any sort of pillow or something to keep me in a better position? I know this is wildly off topic, even for this forum, but this is a bit of a problem for me and I thought some of you may be in the same situation =D

Okay, so what happened is that my PC was running and I wanted to check something on the back of my motherboard with a magnifying glass (made of metal). I accidentally touched the metal part on the back that is behind the processor. This is the part I touched (not my mobo on the picture, only there for reference): Nothing happened, the pc is working fine. Is it possible I damaged something?

I'm searching for closed back headphones with a high sound quality and pristine clarity in the 300-400€ area. The boatload of headphones you can find in the internet is too overwhelming for me to disect a clear winner myself. Note: I have bigger ears; I listen to a lot of bass-heavy music, however this does not mean that I want to sacrifice on other frequencies; I drive my headphones off of my motherboard (RealTek ALC 1150) and the quality of my music is Spotify Premium. My current main headphones are the Philips Fiedlio X2. I really like them, but i miss the "inside your head" feeling of closed back headphones like the Sennheiser PX 360 BT that i had before them. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just wall mounted my pc and the wood is covered with carbon fiber which is apparently conductive. I want to make an acrylic backplate to protect the GPU and tbh it seems pretty easy. Watched a couple of vids and I know how to do it. Problem is that none of these videos actually show how to attach the plate to the GPU's PCB. How do I do that in the easiest possible way? Got an xfx r9 270x btw.

Hello, I just got iPhone for the 1st time and I have one issue I guess I am too stupid to figure out. How do you go step back? You know that thing you have on android where you press it and it's like one page back on browsers. For example, let's say I am using Tinder and I go into someone's profile, I cannot take a step back into messages, no I have to turn Tinder off and on again. And while on the subject, how can I use that option that my MacBook connects to iPhone cellular automatically when wifi is lost? It is grayed out. And the 3rd question is about camera app, where can I find camera settings and can I shoot a portrait (thing when they blur the background)? Hardware: iPhone 6s, MacBook pro retina 2012, Sofware: Newest IOS and Mac OS. Thanks

So school, at least in my state, is starting in about 2 weeks, and I thought it might be useful for everyone to share what pencil they use and what they think is the best. Personally, I love the pentel twist erase (I use the 0.5mm version). I personally think it is the most comfortable one I've ever used and it is made of high quality plastic. It is a little pricy ($7 for a 2 pack) but I think it's worth it because of how comfortable they are to write with.

My Siberia V2 frost headset kinda died on my and I need something that matches my white and silver build and also closes me off from noisy roommates, I was looking and found AKG K545s but for a few hundred more I could get AKG 551s which are a headset but the white version costs 100$ more that the black version and that feels wrong Vmoda m100s are an option but I know nothing about Vmoda, Beyerdynamic Custom one pros are what I would lean towards just because it's a brand that I recongnize and have used but I've heard Slick say that they were alittle disappointing during a wan show a few years back so I'm discouraged on them, so is there maybe a better choice I haven't found and if not I need help because I feel like I'm flying blind with this purchase and I want them to last me a few years.

So here is my issue at work we have roaming profiles so all our user data is stored on our server here in the office. Now we do run regular back ups to a back up server on the other side of the school but my boss now wants us to also backup the whole server (Or just the user files) to A cloud service like google drive. Now we have Unlimited Google drive storage so preferably we want to use Drive. My question is does anybody use any software that does this well ? I'm looking at Cloud Berry http://www.cloudberrylab.com/google-drive-bare-metal-backup.aspx but I don't want to just jump onto the first program I find if there is a better (cheaper) alterantive out there ?

So im not sure how many of you noticed this but if you already owned the game batman arkham knight then you should have a patch that adds a whole slew of graphics option like show in the picture below. However they still do not have an option to switch screens but i'm not that salty about that. On my GTX 780 i was getting about 52 fps on average when running the ingame benchmark but in actuality i'm getting a solid 60. Fps is also no longer capped at 30, but you now have options for 30/60/90 not perfect but much better. The absolute best part is that you can turn off the horrendous film grain effect that they put in.

What's up everyone, I'm having some trouble with interference on my back 3.5mm jack. When I move my mouse or start a game I hear this high pitched tone. This doesn't happen on the front panel 3.5mm jack. I changed my motherboard today from a Gigabyte Z97X-SLI to a MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and it still makes this noise. I also tried without GPU and that didn't solve the interference either. What could be the problem of this? The MSI Z97 Gaming 5 which I use now has an isolated audio PCB so it shouldn't do this right? Rest of my specs are in my signature. Edit: Things I tried replacing to rule out the problem: Mobo, PSU, GPU.

So I'm really liking Windows 10 so far, but one odd thing I've noticed is that I'm unable to use my touchpad gestures for back and forward on chrome. I've tried on microsoft edge and internet explorer as well and they didn't work. I thought it might be because of the settings in my Asus Smart Gesture app but disabling that didn't help either. Is it just a Chrome +Win10 incompatibility? Does anyone else have them working?

Pretty simple, I have a minecraft world that is very important to me and I switch around my OS quite a lot and keep forgetting to back up my minecraft world. I need a program that will allow me to plug in my USB Flash drive an have it automatically back up my minecraft worlds, photos, etc. every day. I'm sure there is a simple answer but googling it only brings up garbage. EDIT:: Point is I need a program that will allow me to pick specific folders and back them up/sync them with another storage device any time I plug it in.

Hello everyone, I have a major problem that I cannot, for the life of me, fix. I own a SteelSeries Rival and the mouse is the best I've owned yet. However, I assign my bottom side mouse button as my Push-to-talk in TeamSpeak. Though, for some reason it also acts as the "back" button when browsing the web, or even browsing in Windows Explorer. The top button is "Forward", which I don't use as often but it is still a pain. I absolutely hate this. Why are these buttons double assigned like this? I just want the side mouse buttons to be a single key bind. I have checked the SteelSeries Interface to see if it was somehow configured in there. I uninstalled the drivers and software, deleted the AppData and started fresh, still didn't fix it. I can't find settings anywhere in Windows that binds this, nor in my internet browser. Please, can someone help me fix this? I can't find this anywhere on Google, and it is ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING      and has bothered me for months now. I have turned to you, LinusTechTips to save me from this annoyance. I will do whatever I have to, to fix this. I have also tried third party software to try and counteract this problem but it isn't ideal. Any ideas?

Hello everyone! Here’s my quick review of the CM Storm Devastator. The bundle is comparatively cheap at around 30-40 dollars. I picked mine up at NCIX for $35.99 before tax. Before I start, here’s where I’m coming from; · I have only every used a OEM mouse (Lenovo to be precise) · My previous keyboard was a Gigabyte K8100 · I’m a casual gamer (couple of hours a week, run of the mill stuff; GTA V, Shadow of Mordor etc.) · I have used mechanical keyboards in the past Pros: 1. Backlighting on the Keyboard. The backlight on the keyboard is awesome (I got the red version), it seems to light up the entire membrane, making the keys clearly visible. It reminds me of the Razer Blackwidow Chrome that my roommate had. It is way better than the pathetic light, struggling to illuminate half a key, on my old K8100. 2. Raised keys. The keys are well raised off the keyboard face. It looks almost as if there are mechanical switches underneath. This makes typing easier, at least for me, as you can clearly feel when one key ends. 3. Typing feels nicer than a normal membrane. I don’t know if I’m a placebo case (I did read the “custom membrane design” advertising on the CM site before buying) but the keys do have a *slight* tactile feel to them, though I do sometimes think that the extra height may have something to do with it. 4. Keys and mouse have a nice matte coating. 5. Mouse has weight (or mass rather). My biggest fear when buying this combo was that the mouse would be a lightweight piece of junk that I would have to throw out. Surprisingly, it’s not. It has weight for sure, and feels and glides very nicely. It’s not as comfortable when compared to something like the M45, which I held in store and felt my hand mold around, but it gets the job done. 6. Quality. Both the keyboard and the mouse have a quality feel that I was, frankly, surprised to find at this price point. Cons: 1. The cord from the keyboard and mouse looks (and feels) flimsy. 2. The keyboard backlight is tied to the Scroll Function Not the key. The function. This means that I can open the On-Screen keyboard and play with my backlight, I can’t have Scroll Lock on and the backlight off. I wish they had put a separate switch. Don’t bother trying to switch the mouse backlight off because you can’t. 3. The multimedia keys feel flimsy. The keys are located on the top edge, so they are 1/3rds off the keyboard. They feel like they might rub off. 4. The keys are very hard to see without the backlight on. I guess this makes sense since the mouse backlight never switches off, so it would look odd to have a brightly lit mouse and a dark keyboard, but then why would you tie up the Scroll Lock function? 5. The DPI button. I am grateful the mouse has a DPI button but I wish they hadn’t put it directly under the scroll wheel. In conclusion, this bundle is well worth your money. It’s not professional grade by any stretch of the imagination but it’s well built, practical, pretty well thought out and looks awesome.

I usually sit quite close to my computer and I currently have headset microphone (Plantronics 780 gamescom) ATM but I have been having complaints about my background fan noise. I have a water cooler H100i Corsair and 3 regular thermal take fans, any suggestions for a microphone that is good for this environment. I have tried to turn down the audio in the control panel and it has to be low enough where you cannot hear me for it not to pick up the fan noise really loud. I have also tried to reduce the fan speeds but it doesnt make too much of a difference. I also cannot just sit further away from my computer since its set up in a way where there inst enough space for it anywhere else and I dont have any wall ports anywhere. I have been searching and I want a microphone which inst any higher than 150$. The blue yeti looks really appealing but any suggestions would be appreciated.
