Hello, so recently i tried to replace my 2700x with 3700x on rog strix b450-f gaming board, before trying this i updated my bios to latest version cuz i haven't updated bios since i bought this board 2 years ago, with 2700x everything works just fine but after installing 3700x pc won't post, it gives me yellow led which indicates dram problem, i have 2 sticks of 8gb 3200mhz ram and tried rearranging in every position , tried to put only single stick in every position as well(tried both of them), tried resetting cmos both by removing battery and putting it back in and by short circuiting special cmos pins that board has, tried reinserting cpu as well just in case it wasn't inserted properly, after all that i reinserted my 2700x and it booted right away, could this be because of bios update? i also don't have usb drive that i could format to fat32 and had to update bios via internet so cant even go back to other versions. any help would be appreciated.

I recently upgraded my CPU/GPU on my PC as well as switching to UEFI so I can enable smart access memory and have been getting coil whine with stutters while gaming. I have tried clean installing, and almost everything possible solution I could find with no luck and my patience is running out I don't know what else to do. I'm going to start with posting a benchmark of my computer so the base line components are known. I'm replacing the OLOy Ram with 2x16gb 3600mhz Trident Z Ram whenever they come in. [UserBenchmarks: Game 99%, Desk 92%, Work 93%](https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/36105730) ||Model|Bench :----|:----|:----| **CPU**|[AMD Ryzen 5 3600X](https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/AMD-Ryzen-5-3600X/Rating/4041)|88.2% **GPU**|[Nvidia RTX 2070](https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Nvidia-RTX-2070/Rating/4029)|108.4% **SSD**|[WDC WDS500G2B0A-00SM50 500GB](https://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/715742/WDC--WDS500G2B0A-00SM50)|96.3% **HDD**|[Microsoft Storage Space Device 1.5TB](https://hdd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/169517/Microsoft-Storage-Space-Device)|103% **RAM**|[G Skill Intl F4-3600C16-16GTZR 2x16GB](https://ram.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/1050318/G-Skill-Intl-F4-3600C16-16GTZR-2x16GB)|101.6% **MBD**|[Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING](https://www.userbenchmark.com/System/Asus-ROG-STRIX-B450-F-GAMING/93471)| **PSU**|[Toughpower GF1 750W - TT Premium Edition 750W 80+ Gold](https://www.newegg.ca/thermaltake-toughpower-gf1-tt-premium-edition-ps-tpd-0750fnfaga-1-750w/p/N82E16817153397) I'm running 64 bit Windows 10. Software I would be running while streaming would be: Logitech G Hub - mouse/speakers and headset Corsair ICue - temps/fan curves/keyboard settings SLobs&SLChatbot/OBS - stream software Nvidia RTX Voice whatever gaming software - steam, epic or battle.net Now, as for the problem, I cannot stream.. at all. I have made multiple Reddit posts to no avail, I've taken my computer to a doctor, to no avail. I'm lost. And I don't know what to do. About seven weeks ago, my pc started crashing due to Kernel 41 Term 63 Issues, I read online it could one of three things, not enough power - replaced the cpu because I was running a 600w bronze sff psu - but it didn't help. I read that it could be faulty ram, which, I did indeed have faulty ram, it would not boot past 2133mhz after about six months of use, with no overclocking. So I took it to a doc here local to me, and he is letting me use his OLOy ram for the time being until mine come in. Which we thought would fix the problem, but, it did not. Whenever I crash I'm still getting the same issue. I have searched high and low, tirelessly, and I cannot figure this thing out. The last option that I have is replacing the motherboard which is the last and final option, but I don't want to replace it if it isn't the cause of my issue. When the issue first began, it would happen about four hours into streaming, which is at the end so, I just thought I was wearing my computer out. Then it started coming about an hour in, and sometimes as frequently as fifteen to even six minutes in, just crashing with EXCEPTION_MODE_NOT_HANDLED and thats it. Hardware that has been replaced - ram, PSU, and case. processor, mobo, gpu, hdd, and ssd are all the original equipment I bought, everything is... about nineish months old now. Current installation of windows is about a month old. BIOS version is 3103, a beta version of bios came out on 11/24 but is not recommended for 3000 series amd processors. I believe I added all information and screenshots I have posted in another post, but this one is updated to rule spec I believe and I hope someone can help me at some point. Thank you. Cheers. Hello there. I've recently bought a second nvme ssd, thinking that i could use it as my game drive. But it seems i don't have enough pcie lanes. After i installed the second nvme ssd, gpu performance got horrible so i checked it and it was running gen 3 x4. Uninstalled the ssd and realized that it runs x8 by deffault. What could be wrong? Where are the other 8 lanes? Will i be able to install my new ssd ever?

So I want to upgrade my cpu from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 3700x but my mobo is the Asus ROG Strix B450-f Gaming and I dont know if the chipset will effect the performance of the 3700x. I do know that I wont be able to take advantage of PCIe 4.0 with the b450 chipset, but I don't have anything that can utilize PCIe 4.0. I have no plans to overclock. All I do is play videogames. Should I upgrade my mobo or will I be fine sticking with my b450?

I recently bought a strix rog b450-f gaming motherboard and got a ryzen 3600 to put in it. I got everything together and no boot just a click from my psu after pressing the start button. On the box it says 3rd gen ready. I know some motherboards need a bios update So I got a athon 200 ge incase I needed to do a bios update. I put that proccesor in and I still hear a click from the psu. So I got a new psu that can handle up to 750 watts since the other one I was testing with was 500. I still had the same issue. The motherboard is out of the case and the only thing connected is the psu, ram, and GPU. The rgb on the motherboard works when psu is plugged in. I've tried resetting the cmos and a tried other troubleshooting tips to find problems. I'm am out of ideas to try, I know linus peeps are helpful and I would be grateful for any advice you're willing to give. Specs: Motherboard: strix rog b450-f gaming Ram: hyperx ddr4 8 gbs 2144mhz- also tried other ddr4 ram to see if it was a ram issue. GPU: gtx 1070 Psu: MiPc 750 watt max

Hello I'm currently having a problem that is stopping my PC from posting. I have an Asus b450f gaming and a ryzen 3700x with 4x8 gskill trident z 3200 ram. When I try and use the xmp profile for all sticks the PC won't post and I get an orange motherboard light. But with only two sticks the PC boots just fine. I'm not sure if it's something wrong with my ram or motherboard any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello all, so I’m posting this here because I’ve visited other forums ad nauseum and haven’t been able to find anyone yet who can help me lol i just recently completed a build with a liquid cooler, specifically the Master Cooler MasterLiquid 240R. It comes with a controller with one 3 pin ARGB and one four pin RGB passthrough to motherboard. My motherboard supports up to two 12v 5050 RGB headers. My question is, if I want to control the masterliquid cooler + 4 cooler master masterfans (1 3 fan kit, one bought individually) with ARGB compatibility and be able to hook up everything for control with Aura Sync, can I hook up my two 1 to 3 ARGB splitters to two ports on my controller (and then one port for the extra fan, or alternatively a five to one splitter) and then pass that through to the 5050 RGB header on my motherboard (an Asus ROG Strix B450-F)? In Aura Sync it is showing up as an ARGB header. I’m just concerned about voltages and burning out my headers, ARGB LEDs, or my fans. Knowing the voltage compatibility of that 4 pin RGB passthrough really is everything at this point. Assumptions in computing can lead to destroyed components and I’d prefer to avoid that if I can. I have already downloaded the Master+ and Aura Sync software

Hi I need help!! So yesterday I decided to upgrade my PC with a new water cooler and more RAM, after installing the water cooler and extra RAM it does not boot to the bios anymore. I’ve tried removing all the RAM and only using 1 stick which works but it stays at 2133 mhz, I then tried 2 sticks of RAM which works but only when they’re in slots A1 and A2, if I move A2 to B1 it doesn’t boot to bios. Also when I am able to boot into windows the yellow led on the motherboard remains on and it remains at 2133 mhz. Before this my computer worked fine so I have no idea what’s happened! Any help would be great! Thank you! These are my previous specs before I upgraded: ASUS ROG STRIX B450 F AMD RYZEN 7 2700X MSI Radeon RX 580 8G CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 2x8GB

Hello! I recently bought my first computer that i built myself. Parts: Ryzen 5 3600X RTX 2060 Asus B450-F HyperX 2666Mhz 2x8GB The package first contained a Kingston A2000 250GB NVME SSD but after a couple of days i realized i needed more storage. The motherboard has two M.2 slots so i figured id just buy a Kingston A2000 1TB NVME SSD. It arrived today and i figured i would just put it in the supposedly supported M.2_2 slot and it would just be plug and play. But it was not. At first i couldnt find the new SSD in windows or BIOS. Then i tried swapping places, now i couldnt boot windows but the computer found the new 1TB ssd. So i played around with the configurations and it seems that the M.2_2 slot isnt active at all. I cant find anything about this online and ive looked all over BIOS and i cant find anything that works. I found out afterwards about the PCIE_1 slot being limited to x8 when using the M.2_2 slot, but according to tests i found online the difference betwen x8 and x16 seems to be about 0,5-2 FPS with a GTX 1080 so that shouldnt be too much of a problem. Are there any pros on here that knows a solution for me? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone.I am going through a somewhat annoying situation.I was using my pc for at least a month after I finished assembling it. The pc does not boot.It all started a few days ago: a friend wanted me to try a hard drive which gave him problems. I decided to do it. When I connected his hard drive the PC was working fine, only slower. After seeing that I could not do anything with the hard drive I decided to turn off the PC and disconnect it. After that the pc has never worked again.I cleaned the CMOS, disconnected and connected everything again. Anyway, what is usually done in these cases. So far the keyboard works and allows me to restart the pc, but the pc does not work. I only get a green light on the board that indicates something is wrong with the boot, or something like that. How do you think I could solve this problem?

Currently I'm running a Ryzen 5 2600x on a ROG Strix B450-F Motherboard (exact MOBO here). As my CPU is beginning to get a bit outdated, and since Black Friday/Cyber Monday are coming up here I was wondering if I'd have any issues upgrading to a 3700x while keeping the same MOBO I have. I've tried looking it up but have gotten very mixed or unclear answers on the topic. At the moment I run at stock settings, not exactly planning to OC in the foreseeable future since I haven't really found a reason to yet. It's not the end of the world if I have to upgrade motherboards but obviously I'd like to save money where I can. So I guess my main questions are these: -Should I be prepared to encounter any BIOS issues when upgrading? -Will I see a dramatic improvement in performance if I upgrade my motherboard? -Is overclocking possible on the old motherboard? (Read that OCing 3rd Gen on last gen boards can cause your PC to crash) -Any other possible issues I may run into? Thanks in advance ♥

I bought 2 extra sticks of Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200Mhz. When i had 16gb i used docp and it worked fine but not with 32gb. I've tried all on auto and clock speed at 3200Mhz, even turning voltage all up to 1.45v. But the pc reboots and resets memory to 2133mhz. Can someone help me?

Was having issues with cpu temps on the new video capture pc a member of our church built and donated to us so i went to swap out the cooler. Long story short cpu was fused to the cooler and popped out of the socket with the cooler. Trying to get it off I apparently got a bit of thermal paste i missed on the pins and killed the mobo. Got the new mobo in and its not booting. It gets further then the old one. The old one would stay on the ram qled. The new one cylces trough ram, cpu, vga and hits the boot light then reboots and repeats this loop. So is the Cpu dead also or is this what happens when the 450 has the old bios on it that don't have 3rd gen support. edit: what ive tried so far is reseating the cpu, ram and with or without the gpu. edit 2: i realized i missed unplugging a harddrive and it booted to the bios so progress

Good Day everyone new to the form and looking for some help. A few days ago my ssd in SATA port 3 stopped showing up in the bios and windows. If I put the ssd into a USB port with and adaptor it shows up. I have also tried port 4-6 and nothing happens but my other two ssd still show up in port 1and 2. I was wondering if this is a board limitation or if I should do a CMOS rest. I have had the board sense June. I love the board just wish I could have more then two drives when I did have 3 working at the same time. I have checked all SATA power and data cables. so im new at pc building and this would be the 1st time im building a pc. after putting a b450f motherboard and a ryzen 5 3600x in pcpartpicker, a warning said that some b450 motherboards need a bios update and i would need an older cpu to update bios. i searched google and found this to be a fairly common problem a few months ago. does this problem still exist now? and if so, are there any solutions available other than borrowing an old amd cpu? im planning to use an rog strix b450f motherboard. also, im planning on using a case with 6 aura sync compatible fans in total. 1 at the back, 2 at the top, and 3 at the front. according to the motherboard specs, there are only 2 rgb headers, so are there any way to connect all of them, using a header splitter perhaps, if those things are available. sorry for my english. im fairly new at rgb so any help would be appreciated. thank you
