I'm not good at writing, but my purpose of writing this piece is: The Axon 7 is a great phone, not even considering its literally HALF (if not more) the price of many popular devices out there. Here's why I believe so: (TL;DR is at the bottom) These opinions are my own, and are likely biased because of my frustration with Samsung and the fact that this phone is only $400 USD. As did Linus, I came to the Axon 7 from the Galaxy S7. So far, the phone has performed very well after some tinkering*. While I do miss the S7's waterproof capabilities (I miss being able to toss it in the pool to watch friends and family members to freak out) I have been able to use my device while using in the rain, in the shower, and so on as I would with all of my other devices. While other reviewers seem to undermine its camera capabilities, in real world use (ie not actively searching for flaws) I've yet to take any displeasing photos of any kind. Shutter speed is the fastest I've ever seen, almost like my old LG G4. The quality of photos taken with automatic settings are superb. This judgement comes from my experience with Android vs iOS camera use. My opinion always was: Android takes garbage slow-mo videos, unlike the Axon 7. While S7 pictures have always been superb in any lighting, its video quality was abysmal unless you had P E R F E C T lighting. Taking random videos of me walking through different lighting scenarios in my flat, or randomly tossing my pen around on my desk in slow-mo have so far been captured in amazing quality on my Axon 7. From my experience with the LG G4, I swore I'd never touch a 5.5" or higher sized device again. I bought this device on impulse, and the thought didn't even occur until I set my S7 and A7 side by side. The lack of wireless charging does not bother me whatsoever. To me, WC was a cute gimmick, but I use my phone enough that I'd lose the same amount of charge if I was bothered to set my S7 down directly on the charger. Personally, the fingerprint sensor works better than the S7. The DOLBY ATMOS thing is obviously a gimmick as well, but I like it. The built in bluetooth module in my car always made audio lacking in sounds, but this software generously compensates for that. The capacitive buttons are not backlit, and when I was initially using the device in the dark, I occasionally hit buttons I didn't mean to. The Axon 7, if you didn't know, is a USB Type-C device. This is my first USB-C device. Buying new cables was sort of an inconvenience at first, but it always boiled down to now or never in my mind. TL;DR: After using a plethora of devices ranging from the Note 7, S7, LG G5, Pixel, I simply mean to say the Axon 7 (and the 3T for that matter) performs just as well as any of the $600+ phones that saturate the mobile phone market. It only lacks a few features that the higher priced devices have (water resistance and wireless charging). This is obviously not an in-depth review. *: The Axon 7 supports the LTE bands that Verizon operates on, but I had to reset my phone after updating to Nougat, and the A7 rarely has a weird "switching from WiFi to LTE once I leave a building on campus or my flat" issue. This is easily fixed with a few quick key dances. (Going into sim settings and toggling the "LTE" setting a few times"). Thanks for reading! So I will be using the phone on Verizon's networks, and I love music, so I thought that both of these phones would be good. But I don't know what to get. I like the screen, speakers, battery life more on the axon 7 But I love the build, size, camera, and the software more on the HTC 10 I will probably root and unlock the bootloader, so I won't worry about warranties. I can get them both for around $370 on swappa, but I could buy the axon 7 new. Help me choose!

I'm buying a new phone because my nexus 5 after almost 3 years of great duty decided to die. (The screen cracked in pieces and i think it's time for me to get a new smartphone) I came up with the axon 7 and the one plus 3 as the best ones that i could get. Aside from the difference in prices between the two can anyone of you please give me your consideration on those two phones and which one would you decide and why? If you believe any other phone would be better for this range of budget, please feel free to share your opinions. Thanks in advance

I know i've seen 2 or 3 posts similar to this but oh well... Comparing prices to buy my first ever smart phone (yes. get excited) Upgrading from this: Looking at Australian retail, the Axon 7 launches in Aus next week for $600 at launch. This is comprable to the One Plus 3, which makes sense. Choose what you want to focus on, either sound or ram. pay the same price. Linus said similar in his Axon review. Then, pixel launches, and everyone talks awesome about it. I am about to click buy on the ZTE and decide to check out the other team. The pixel xl sports almost idential hardware to the Axon 7 (according to GSMArena), but retails in australia through JB Hi Fi for a whopping $1400!!! What the actual and absolute heck! iPhone 7 is $1200, so i could get a really good bluetooth headphones TOO for that cost! The specs between the axon 7 and pixel xl are really similar. Both are 1440p amoled displays. both are 4gb rams. Both have good cameras (I expect the pixel to have better software and autofocus, but the zte is f1.8 compared to f2.0) The pixel really delivers through on the camera (trumpeting the "best smartphone camera ever", apparently a weekly prize), while the zte is the only phone since the HTC One m8 to do really good sound, and has "broken the sound test" of some reviewers by being that loud and good! I'd rather go for the sound anyway, and this is the ONLY phone doing anything about it. Meanwhile, every single phone now has a very good camera, so i can forego an outstanding camera. The zte is a snapdragon 820. The pixel is an 821, which by Qualcom's own materal is practically an identical chip, instead "building upon" the 820 and only really improves on "VR performance", which we all know is rubbish on mobile anyway. So i know that because the pixel is a first party google phone, the software will be great. And that's what they want you to think. But how polished can something really get?? Google has always subsidised their first party phones, and they're practically the largest company on the planet now. Seriously, what gives??? What can make a phone cost $1400??? Apple is the benchmark for overkill price, and they're $200 cheaper!! The zte is the same hardware, maybe better, with less great software, for 40% of the cost. Please enlighten me!!

Hey there community, yesterday I ordered some Dbrand skins for my Axon 7 and I am a little afraid about the rounded corners and how easy it will be to apply the skin. Therefore I wanted to ask if anyone has this or a similar rounded device with a skin on it and can tell me about their experience putting it on.

Hello community, ich now have my new Axon 7 and I have successfully connected my usb otg controller trough an adapter. Then I wanted to play something with it and it worked apart from the controller opening the keyboard everytime I pressed one of the buttons A,B,X or Y so it seems that the android system prioritises its own inputs over in app inputs (drastic ds emulator). How can I change that, so that I can play for real ?

So my iPhone took a dump on me a while ago and I just didn't want to replace it with another smartphone so I went with a cheap flip phone for 15 bucks off of amazon. But now I've got the itch for a smartphone again so I need your guys and gals help. What should I get...should I get one of those or something entirely different. Budget: $450 (american) Uses: Use my phone for YouTube and movie watching more than my computer. Gaming: I use my computer for that...duh Choices: Axon 7, Oneplus 3, or something similar to them. (also never getting another iPhone again...I don't know why i went swapped from android to apple in the first place.)

I dropped my phone one too many times without a case and the volume up rocker is stuck in the phone. My phone ran out of battery the other day and when i tried to turn it back on it directly goes into Android recovery mode because the volume up button is being pushed in at the same time. I wanted to know if there is some way around this. I tried forcing the volume button out but i don't think its possible unless I take the phone apart. Please help!

Hello community, I just wanted to ask what your update experience to oreo with the axon 7 is. I know that zte used the US as their betaprogram for oreo and promised that for example Germany would get it too in april, but now it's already may and I haven't seen anything from them(everytime I checked for updates it did say that it couldn't reach the server). Maybe they are still fixing bugs but I wanted to ask if someone has more information about the launch. Also there is something strange going on with the zte website and it's forum. Everytime I search for a forum threat it just prompts me back to the main page and it says literally nothing.

I have been waiting on this video to make my decision on a phone and darn It did not make up my mind. I was pretty sure when the axon 7 release It was the phone I wanted. but now i am not so sure. I have a HTC desire 816, that I cracked the screen on and virgin mobile no longer offers that phone. I was pretty happy with the phone except for its storage only 8gb and it between OS, the bloat where HTC and virgin moble put on 4.2 was left mostly of that was taken up by aps i could not delete. I have a 64gb sd but the phone does a poor job of putting stuff there and most apps still took up to much room. I love the size now and love having stereo speakers since I watch a lot of content on my phone. although i wish they were a little louder. My car has a rubbish speaker system and I would love to listen to music an audio books. wich i can do right now as long as the windows are closed and the a/c is not running to High. (I now i could get a blue tothe speaker but i just want it there) like If i am out on the soccer field i want to hear it from pretty far away or I want to hear it over the shower... my last complaint Is that the aux port is not tight and It will not hold in my daily driver headphones the audio technica m40x. After doing a lot of research I had it down to the alcatel Idol 4s and the axon 7. then thought i had it down to the axon 7 but then had quality control concerns. ended up looking at a lot of the sony stuff but its too expensive I am now in a huge circle. in the end I really can't spend more the the 399 price. I love the 5.5 ish size. I demanded stereo front facing speakers. ruling out one plus 3 but that leaves nexus 6p, the actel even if it isn't perfect with button placement. and the axon 7. but for all of its claims linus said speakers were not that great. I want the loudest will not sounding bad. future vr suport sounds amazing. I am rambling because i am so confused at this point.

Does anyone have experience using the ZTE Axon 7 on a CDMA network, mainly Verizon?
