Anyone knows how can i change my defective dongle ( USB TO I2C ) on my ax1200i corsair for a New one? My dongle stops working today. I send ticket for Brazilian local support rma service, and USA too. This is the best way to do it? Thanks.

So recently I had a ton of problems with my gtx 1080, the screen would go black and fans ramp up, the OS would continue to work under it. In games, or in idle, sometimes it wouldn't even boot into windows. Reliability history always said it's a driver problem. On linux, the crashes were a lot rarer, and windows safe mode crashed only once. This first started happening couple months ago, but in the last month it was so often that it made the PC unusable. Without the graphics card, system was stable. Ram was good. So there were only a couple of options. 1) Driver issues I tried everything, from clean OS installs, ddu + a shit ton of older drivers, leaving only windows drivers, etc- it was sorta stable on the basic driver but even that would occasionally crash. 2) GTX 1080 was broken - I RMA'd the card. They stress tested it for 2 days, nothing. 3) Dust - I kept it as clean as it came from the box. 0 dust. 4) PSU - It's basically a new ax1200i PSU which I bought couple of years ago but never used until now. I mean, it could be it, but srsly.. 5) Cables - the connection indicators for gtx 1080 cables were always white- meaning connected and powered. I connected the card and the PSU with 2 cables, one for the 6 pin, and one for 8 pin. I didn't change anything. This setup was stable until some windows updates, or so I thought. But it happens in other OS'es too, so .. What ended up fixing it, was connecting the PSU and GTX with only one cable. Why? I though, maybe the PSU has more than one voltage rails and it causes instabilities. Nope, 1 rail. How I noticed it: If you connect the 1080 (asus strix 08C) in the PCI slot only, indicators (2 of them) are red. Originally I thought if you connect voltage to them, they go white, but no! Just if you connect the cable to them, they go white. But! If you connect, for example, the fractal edison modular cable to the card only, to the 8 pin only, it's white. To the 6 pin only, it's white. If you do the same with corsair's cables, 8 pin only, white. 6 pin only, RED! FAULTY CABLE!!!!! or not.. both the corsair cables that I had did it. If you connect 2 corsait cables to gtx only, no psu, 8 pin is white, 6 pin is red, edison cables, both connectors white. If you connect only 1 corsair cable to both 8 and 6 pins, both white. All of this without power from PSU. If they are connected to PSU, both the 6 and 8 pins will go white anyway. Also, the eddison and ax1200i psu have different modular cables, wires are connected differently, and psu side connectors are different. What is going on. Why does it work on one cable, and not on 2 cables? It makes no sense really. And It's not like the connectors are loose or anything like that, really.

In the process of putting my system together I decided to test boot it without the GPU, plugging in the 24 pin results in a small coil whine, one of the two plugs of the Corsair AX1200I is loose and tends to come out, any ideas what is wrong? I recently installed the Dominator Platinum light bars and they are not lighting up and I'm not sure if they're broken or this is the issue.

Hey all, first time posting in the forum. So I am starting a new build and had chosen the Corsair AX1200i PSU to power the thing. I swap out the fan on the PSU with a quieter noctua fan on almost all my builds, with this one being no different. However, when I popped the thing open, I saw something I've never seen before. There seem to be giant gobs of grey goop (hardened) in multiple places throughout the PSU. Also, the fan header seems to be glued to the board, which is an inconvenience but solvable. But the grey goop?!? Anyone ever seen this before? What is it?

So allow me to start this with the spec list Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VI Formula CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K (not OC'd) RAM: 32GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 FTW PSU: Corsair AX1200i EDIT: Operating System is Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit now the issue is that all of a sudden my pc, in this configuration is failing the power supply self test. so me thinking its the power supply again (i have RMA'd the 1200i twice now) i took my gpu out and threw in a 660 to test it, didnt fail. tested my GPU in a different machine, didnt fail but as soon as my pc is in the above configuration, it fails. it may be something im missing but i could use an outside perspective. thank you

Yesterday I went to turn my pc on and it would not turn on, I proceeded to take my AX1200i out of my pc and I have self tested it and paper clip tested it and it passed both. I've also tested it on a different motherboard and again booting wouldn't happen. I've tested all the voltages on all the 8 pin connectors and on the 24 pin connector and there all reading what they should be reading so I don't know what is wrong with it. I can't RMA it either as I brought it off eBay 1 year and 9 months ago and don't have proof of purchase. So please help me.. Hi. After I recently did some maintainance on my watercooled rig, and put it all together again, something happend with my PSU. About 6 hours after I started up the pc, it suddenly just shut itself down, and wouldn't reboot. I've tried clicking the selftest button on the PSU, and that gives me the same click. However, if I hold the test button down, the light turns green, and the fan ramps up as it always has. Also tried jumping it with a paperclip between the green wire and a ground wire, and then it ran fine, just like I did when filling the loop. Any ideas what might be the issue?

So I like to make part lists on pcpartpicker (like most people who use it), and when I make workstations builds I like to use the Asus WS E but if I need a 1200w psu I don't have the option of higher quality psu (not that I have a problem with the rosewill photon) but the silver stone case doesn't have support for them and I'm not comfterbal with the possible mobo tray dip in the fractal deisgn r5 so I have to use the silverstone. So my question is can I actually put a Cooler master V1200 or Corsair AX1200i in the Silverstone TJ04B-EW or is it just some crap from pcpartpicker?

So, I'll be upgrading my GPU this year to two R9 290X Lightnings and will be water cooling my system. I plan on Overclocking these cards as high as possible without entering into unsafe voltages. Also, my 24/7 CPU (3770K) Overclock is 4.8 GHz @ 1.225V. My power supply is an old 850W Corsair AX850 (the original AX series - 80+ Gold) and only has four 6/8 pin PCI-e connectors, so I won't be able to plug in the additional 6 pin connector on the 290X lightnings. (Which really bugs me, as I wanted to really push these cards) Would you recommend a larger power supply for me considering I'll be running 1.3-1.35V through both the cards. I was considering something like an RM1000 instead, but the low quality components puts me off.

Been looking for a new PSU for my future build as 850W might not cut it. So I started looking at the Corsair AX1200i, and reading reviews (NCIX and NewEgg). NCIX reviews don't mention much noise, but NewEgg reviewers say that there is a lot of noise. The noise profile listed in the description for the AX1200i is only for the fans. I'm expecting a load between 70-80%. Anyone have experience with this PSU and at this load? As this computer will be sitting a few feet from my bed, and will likely kept running all night, acoustics is quite important to me.

First off, this is my first PC build. I got into PC gaming about 1-2 years ago without knowing much. That's why I went out and bought me a Samsung Series 7 Gamer laptop. Still an awesome machine (with Intel Core I7 with 2.3Ghz/Intelboost@3.3, 16Gb ram, GTX675m, and beautiful Samsung 17" screen), but I wanted to build my own. Not only build my own, but as nice as a noob could think of, watching Youtube and making my own biased decisions. With all that said, let's break it down! Case: Corsair 900D PSU: Corsair AX1200i Mobo: Asus Maximus VI Extreme CPU: Intel 4th Gen. Haswell Core I7 4770k Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 2x8 @ 2400 GPU: Asus GTX780ti (reference model being that the digi+ model is not out yet) Cooling: Corsair H100i (with 4 SP PWM fans is push/pull), 3x Noctua PWM 120mm intake fans and 1x Noctua 140mm 3pin exhaust fan Storage: Sandisk (non-consumer) 256Gb SDD, 750Gb Hitachi HDD (pulled out of my laptop when replaced with 128Gb Samsung 840 Pro SSD, which I plan on moving into this build) Sound: Razer Tiamat 7.1 gaming headset Acc.: Asus Blu-ray Writer, Rosewill multimedia drive bay, handy USB 3.0 flash drive, Articsilver 5 and cleaners, plenty of air in a can, I'm going to get some pics up soon, some gameplay data/footage, and what it took ordering all this (which ended up being a huge pain in my ass)!

I have an ax1200i power supply, and I want to keep my top fans on when my computer is off because I have a very dusty house.

So I recently purchased a Corsair AX1200i Power Supply. I turned it on for the first time and noticed (as far as I can tell) a slight coil whine coming from the PSU. It's emmiting a high-pitched noise that only bothers me when the computer is idle and not turned on; my case fans are loud enough to drain out the sound but I'm just wondering if the noise could possible get worse? I've googled a bit into this, and it looks like the 1200i is prone to coil whines and other noises. Is this because the PSU is just so powerful, or is it a fault in the manufacturing of the product? Anyway, I've already ordered a new one and I'm just waiting for them to come into stock. If all else fails and it suffers from the same noise (hopefully not worse), I'll just force myself to live with it until the power supply dies.
