I like playing PS2 games and occasionally Wii games. I also like to see what I’m doing and where I’m going. The resolution for both my Wii and PS2 is capped at 480i and they don’t seem to want to fit to the TV’s aspect ratio. When I try to change the settings on the PS2 it sort of works, but when I go into a game it doesn’t work so well, especially for NFS Most Wanted. What I mean is I usually have to zoom in on the picture on the TV, and then reset the zoom when I go into a game because I can’t see half of it. I am also using a Fosmon AV splitter as I only have room for on AV cable on the back of my TV, but I didn’t really run into this issue until I got a new TV (my old one was at most probably 720p, and I’m now using a 1080p tv) Any ideas for what I could do? If an upscaler isn’t the answer I’d be happy to know what else I could do. (I know this post might be a bit of a mess, I also didn’t really know where to go for answers)

I have been working for this church for a few months now and am in charge of their AV. All of a sudden our power amplifier Crown CDI Drivecore 4 | 300 has given me the errors of "ch2 DCLE Detected" and "High Voltage Rail Warning" and also cut the audio to the speakers throughout the building. No matter how much research I do I cant find a fix for them. I have read every article and read the manual. I have reseated all of my connections and even completely unplugged channel 2 input and output but am still getting the same results. I don't know what to do but this has to be ready by tomorrow.

A possibly stupid question about my old consoles and my new TV
PH!L posted a topic in Console Gaming
So I'm buying a new TV and I want it to work with my N64, GameCube and Wii. So it needs to take Composite. The model I'm looking at has some kind of AV-port (I think its a 3.5mm AV but i'm not sure. Here's a picture. I'd be really happy if someone could confirm). Could I just hook up my consoles with an adapter like this? -
Will Lab 2 test speakers or home theatre equipment of any kind? I've been getting into AV equipment recently, and there is so much out there from countless brands, some I know to be reputable, but most I have no idea. I remember seeing a LTT video a while ago about their earbud/ headphone testing dummy heads, and the sound chamber they plan on building, but am wondering how far-reaching that will be. For example, Polk speakers vs Klipsch speakers. Both are brands that I've heard in-person, but 1) there are so many speaker brands that I haven't heard and 2) I'd like to know scientifically how they compare. I really love the effort that goes into LTT videos, and would love a concise, unbiased reviewing of AV equipment. If that's in the works, I may have missed it, so let me know. Thanks!

Hello everyone. I am a motion graphics designer who mostly works with digital footage, however I have always been very passionate about trying to achieve old school visual designs, as I found they have a specifi charm (Like film or lomography in the photographic sphere). While plugins to emulate the look have evolved immensely (such as Signal for VHS or AV Club for mini DV), I found out there's no substitute for the real thing. In the past I was able to record footage from my computer on a VHS via a digital to analog converter, but I'm not sure about Mini DV cameras. I shopped around for a few used models and most seem to have what's called a "dub" function, to send the mini-dv footage out to an external source, but saw no mention of a way to send digital footage TO the camera to record on mini DV. Basically what I'm trying to achieve is to have some graphics I'd make on my computer processed by the camera and recorded on mini dv, to then import it back to the computer. Is there any specific model or feature i'd need to look for? Thank you so much!

Hello all. I have gotten myself into a bit of a pickle. I work in IT for a county in the US and I have started hosting all of our official meetings as well as beginning to record them. As time has gone on I have built rolling TV setups and small meeting rooms to record video footage. I do all of my recording through OBS(another learning curve entirely) and have since been tasked with creating a full mobile video production set up. I essentially have a blank check but, like Luke I don't like spending money without knowledge of a good return. My predecessor was fired as he over promised and never delivered leaving me with a half baked BMD(Black Magic Design) system. That is a long way of saying, while I can use OBS I have ZERO knowledge about the hardware I need. I am looking for resources, guides, or anything that might help me make an informed decision to build a semi professional setup to record and stream county meetings. What I need to do is capture the audience video and replies on one side and the speakers video and voice on the other. Currently all I have is a BMD URSA Mini Pro G2 4.6K Camera, a handful of Rokinon lenses(35mm, 58mm, 50mm and a 14mm), and a single Rode Microphone mounted on top of the camera. Apart from that I have no way of currently connecting this to my computer or any way of doing audio balancing. My only knowledge of this equipment is pushing buttons and reading user manuals. I am not the artsy type so right now I am just going for making this a functional setup that won't require additional resources apart from the occasional battery purchase or maintenance upgrade. As a side note I am enjoying learning all of this so I am not taking on the project begrudgingly I just know this forum will help me get on my feet.

This AVG message keeps popping up basically whenever I try to open a new window in Firefox. I've never seen that site and I have no idea how it keeps poping up even after cleaning everything with CCleaner. How can I get rid of this? Thank you edit: Sorry for the language, forgot to mention. So I stumbled on LTT trying to research a solution for DisplayPort over Ethernet and was excited to see the spot on the whole home tech consolidation to the gigabit network and server build with virtualization. However, my desired solution is somewhat different, as the LTT team ran the fiber physically. I am renting and a new cable run is impractical, though not impossible. I had been designing running HDMI 4K over an AV matrix transmitter when I started looking into solutions for my Valve Index. What I want to do is setup the system to transmit to another couple areas in the house over existing wiring - Coax. I haven’t looked at the max rating for coax, as I have never had to use MOCA (Ethernet over coax), but figure it’s probably ok. More curious if anyone knows what it would take to make it work. DisplayPort and USB 3.0 extenders via Ethernet Cat6 seem like they could solve without latency issues, but I can’t find a AV or Display forum with anyone that has done similar. I know it is possible and expensive, and was hoping someone had some concrete recommendations or leads. Thanks in advance, Kevin

Hello good people, I am in the process of making the switch from Mac to the ‘Darkside’ and I’m in the need of some advice and suggestions for a quality Antivirus package that doesn’t take a toll on your system’s resources. live spent the last few hours reading multiple websites full of reviews, which all seem to give conflicting recommendations, along with being difficult to identify if I’m reading an ‘advertisement’ disguised to look like a review or are giving biased opinions because the writer has been given a ‘free key.’ I’ve been using Avast (free version) on my Mac’s but I am sick and tired of the continuos bombardment of pop-ups trying to get me to give them money - and I suspect this will be no different with the Win10 version - no thank you. . i have also read through the most recent posts that others have put up asking a similar question as myself, but so far I’ve not found a clear winning package recommended, over and above of Windows Defender. From all of the YTubes I’ve watched and the sites I’ve looked at, I am considering ESET - has anybody had any real-world experience of this package? Interested in reading people’s suggestions on this topic. Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Hey guys, I use a pair of Goldring NS-1000s with a 1/4 inch adapter to plug them into my Yamaha RXV381 AV receiver. They sound amazing when you use the speakers on their own, but when I plug my headphones in, they sound quiet and slightly distorted. Haven't tried playing music, but have used them to try to watch movies online and Fresh Prince on Netflix and it's the same result. What should I do? Is there something I'm missing?

While not a standard LED/LCD TV, HiSense has released what they are calling their 100-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart Laser TV. Hey LTT forum people! I'm new to this forum site, but not to LTT! Love their videos and other content they provide! I noticed there wasn't a thread for High End AV equipment and news either residential or commercial. I am a Iowa based Audio Visual Installation Technician for a High End Commercial AV company. We install a ton of automated av systems. Live sound setups. Video Conferencing, etc. There is a huge market for this stuff and it has a lot of cutting edge technology along with it! I would love for fellow AV techs or even enthusiasts to come together and talk about upcoming tech, news and rumors! Especially products like Crestron, AMX, Polycom, Biamp, Clearone, Control 4, JBL, Crown, QSC, etc. This stuff is usually doing things first before you see it on the residential products. I wouldn't mind seeing LTT start making content on this stuff! A lot people don't know what it takes to make a completely automated AV system and how cool they can be also! I think if average consumers saw this side of AV it would be popular, just my opinion! Feel free to post questions with AV issues to this post as well. It would be nice to have a group to ask questions about any issues we come across in the field. Here is a couple installs that I have done! So guys. I've been speculating about a way to turn a PC into an audio video rack. Like to power multiple monitors and control audio. I'm not talking about stuff in a house. I'm talking commercial. I want to find a way to down scale the huge racks that I normally install into essentially supertower PC's. Does anyone have any ideas about how I could go about this or its viability? Have any of you ever tried this?

So he we go.. In order to stream my iOS games, either 1. i have to airplay over my PC and get a input feed [quality and frames sucks and phone gets heated] 2. OR i will use apple av adapter along with a capture card and get a video source.[very good quality ] Now my Capture card [elgato HD60S] or AV adapter is not working and it got me thinking .. " iPhone will output a digital signal to AV adapter that converts it to HDMI and that HDMI is converted again in digital form and sent to my pc with the capture card " source and target are both digital signals And if signal processing is required that can be done my PC. then why cant we do this with just a USB cable. Any idea or help to achieve this will be great and a great video idea also. Also if there is a limitation please point out that too.

Ok so this will likely get a bunch of people saying "NO IT DOES NOT WORK, YOU NEED AN ACTIVE ADAPTER" But that's wrong, it does work, sometimes... Clearly VGA is analog, and HDMI is digital, however the internet is divided as to whether you can passively convert between the two standards. But i've seen it work plenty of times with my own eyes, including my current work laptop which drives a VGA monitor from its HDMI port with a legit HDMI to VGA cable, no adapter or active logic. So im wondering, do certain GPUs actually have the ability to output analog over the HDMI port ? in my experience its usually laptops that can do it. And to add to the weirdness, i once had a laptop which would output analog VGA from the HDMI port when the GPU was running in "windows basic display adapter" mode, with no drivers. but when i installed the drivers, i then had to use an active adapter to get VGA from that same HDMI port. TLDR; You shouldnt be able to passively convert HDMI to VGA, but sometimes you can, why ?

Hey Guys, I have a handful of old-school consoles and I got an old, small NEC CRT off a mate but I have had signal issues. It has RCA ports but only the yellow video and white audio port. I’ve tried numerous times, with my fat PS2, to get signal but absolutely nothing happens, the TV acts as if nothing was connected at all. The TV turns on fine and everything else seems to work. I’ve got another Audiosonic CRT and the PS2 works fine with that, albeit with some buzzing. I would like to get this thing working as it is something of a novelty. Any help would be appreciated. Have a nice day.

Hi there, recently I decided to move my Nintendo Wii downstairs to the bigger TV. This TV is a Finlux 55UT3E242S-T. Instead of having the classic Red, White and Yellow connectors, this TV has the Red and White audio inputs alongside 3 other inputs (Red, Blue and Green) labeled Y, Pb and Pr. I have managed to get a black and white image displayed by plugging the Yellow component cable into the Green port, however that is it. I took a look at Nintendo's official guide on this and it said: If you're only finding the image in black and white, you may need to switch the setting of the input select from a component signal to a standard AV signal. This can be done by An on screen menu option. This is often accessed by using the "Menu" button on the remote. A button on the remote that switches between the standard and component signals. These can be labeled such things as "AV" or "Video." When I go into the menu on my TV, I simply can not find this option, and looking at the online manual there is no button for this function on the remote. Thank you for taking your time to read this, and I hope you can help.

Hello all, Rarely use this forum but hoping someone can help, I have 8 consoles all with hdmi cables and I have a projector with one hdmi port. The problem is I thought I could cheap out and get two x 4 into 1 hdmi splitters and daisy chain for a total of 7 hdmi ports. I have a feeling this is now causing issues as the projector constantly cuts out during use, I removed the projector and ps4 into another room, plugged directly in and it worked fine. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LAQ9LQ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The above link are the splitters I bought. Does anyone have any hdmi splitter recommendations, only trying to achieve 1080p so nothing fancy. But ideally something that won't constantly cut the image out. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance.

I've been folding via F@H and BOINC since roughly February...only recently on occasion I've been getting notifications from my AV that the occasional WU is suspicious. So far I've had one from PrimeGrid and another from Gerasim flagged. I'm like 99.999999% these are false positives, but again, this is also the first time I've seen this occur. Has anyone else seen this happen on occasion? Just curious. My computer hasn't suddenly locked up, no other strange processed, and my files are only encrypted and named where and how I want them to be (no ransomware). I'm still BOINCing these WUs as they keep giving me that sweet, sweet e-rep.

This is the rig I built back in 2016 and it's done well so far. I drag it to conventions, concerts, and other events in order to be a general purpose media dump and a render rig if we don't have a dedicated system for that purpose. This said, while it's been great for the past couple of years...it *is* a bit limited. For example, I have 10-gigabit networking gear that I can travel with (Ubiquiti USG-XG-8 and Mikrotik CCR1036-8G-2S+, for example), but this system doesn't have a 10-gigabit networking option, which isn't *really* a problem in most situations, but it's something I'd like to improve on. Plus, due to it being built in a Node 202, my storage options are more limited than I'd like. Finally, that case isn't exactly designed to be flown around the country as much as it has been. All of this said, I've been looking into my options. I *could* build a 4U or 5U system and put all of that into a Pelican MAC mobile server case. Another option is to find a laptop with multiple Thunderbolt 3 ports and travel with a few external devices as well (external GPU and external PCI-E enclosure for a 10G NIC). Do note that I plan to build this as a last option rig, where I can bring it to more major events for the lulz but also take it to smaller gigs in case it's the only rig there for ingest, production, and distribution. I'm not too worried about it being the network controller as I do a lot more with UniFi and UNMS these days than I used to. So all this said, I just need a third (or forth, or more) opinion on where to go next. A further note: budget isn't something I'm terribly concerned about, but any rig I build/buy is also going to be my daily when I'm home. What do you guys think? Hi. I bought a composite to VGA converter box only to find out I had actually bought the wrong one. It is VGA to video with a composite out over composite in. Is there a way to use the composite out as a composite in port? Thanks, Alpha.

below is an image of the back of the sony str dg720. A had a few questions. 1, why does the Video 1 composite section have video in and video out, when the rest of the composite section only has video in. 2, what is that single yellow compsite port labeled, "monitor" for? Is that how I get video to the TV or is it the video out within the video 1 section?
