Hi, I've been using a Ryzen 5 2400G since it's release (without a GPU) and decided to upgrade to the newer R7 5700G APU. I have a X370 AM4 MOBO (GA-AX370-Gaming K5 (rev. 1.x)) and I read it on the manufacturer's page that with the correct BIOS update (F51g or later) it should be possible to run the new CPU So I proceeded with the BIOS updates in the following order (F2 - F31 (+EC FW update) - F40 - F51h) After that the PC booted into Windows10 effortlessly with the old CPU. Then I changed the processor to the new R7 5700G and started the boot sequence. The screen and peripherals lit up and in the bootloader menu I checked the BIOS version (it was F51h) and disabled any overclocking (although I haven't used any previously) x370 ryzen 5000 requirements But instead of starting windows, an "Preparing Automatic Repair" message was displayed on my screen. After that the screen went black and power was cut from the keyboard, mouse and monitor but the PC was still running and didn't even respond to the power button, so I flicked the switch on the PSU. I repeated this several times with no change. I even tried booting into a copy of windows on a USB but received the same result. It didn't go to the blue screen. Then I switched back the old CPU and the PC worked perfectly like before. I'm starting to run out of ideas. Do you have any suggestions?

My computer crashed and ran Windows Autorepair, it failed. I was stuck in an Autorepair loop and tried running chldsk for some reason and probably made it worse, what the fuck do I do, Ive tried Resetting the PC as an option too but it refuses to do it.

I had a Ryzen 3 2200g on a asrock a320m-hd and decided to upgrade it to a Ryzen 5 2600x to keep up with my rx 580. I've installed the new cpu, booted up, in the bios everything seemed normal (except for the cpu temp, i was getting 60°, but I'm still going to test if it will perform normally). When I booted to windowsit started performing auto repair, failed and then opened the manual repair options. I tried reinstalling windows keeping my files but it failes. Booting up using safe mode failed. Tomorrow I'm going to try and remove the cpu to check if everything is allright but I have no idea of what could be going on edit: fixed it, the pc was booting up on my hard drive, the windows is installed in my ssd.

Hello I built a new pc and I used an old hard drive because I don’t have a USB stick to install windows. But everything was working How it happened ~ I wanted everything fresh and reset the pc completely , then when everything worked I was in the middle of disk migration (cloning so original files should be ok) using macriuim reflect when I think I accidentally pulled on the SATA cable while fixing my cables. my pc crashed and restarts into the automatic repair tool. Tried system restore. generally I’d be able to fix this as I’d just reinstall windows with a usb stick but I do not have a usb stick anymore and can’t get one due to corona virus crisis. so is there any possible solutions for me to fix this? There is no reset pc option on the automatic repair so I do not know what to do it’s a fresh pc I don’t care about the data I just need it to work. i have my old hard drive plugged in as well as a m.2 and a new hard drive which doesn’t have anything in It

After installing new Logitech Gaming Software/Overwolf compainion, my PC had an automatic restart to fully install the files. Upon attempting to boot again, the standard loading circle thing did not appear, and it started automatic repair. which attempted to diagnose the issue. It then went to a blue screen with "Automatic Repair. Your pc did not start correctly' in bold letters. It has advanced options or Restart. I've tried going to the advanced options, and then turning on safemode, restarting automatic repair, system restore(both backups provided a 'failed' message), putting the drive into a different computer to get rid of the LGS and Overwolf files, I've even plugged in the drive and Booted succesfully from it with different hardware. I've tried removeing my Ram sticks one at a time, and trying them both individually. I am able to boot Debian/SteamOS. So when I boot my computer it shows first bios screen like it should then it goes black for 1-5min, then it shows bios screen again. It does this approx. 1-4 times then the pc tries to do automatic repair, when it starts the load (circle spins) it cuts off and shows the bios screen again. Sometimes it goes in the automatic repair and i press "restart" and it does the same thing without automatic repair and it boots but its still very slow. The computer boots, but its so slow it takes like 10-20 min to boot up and i have ssd.Specs:Motherboard: Asus m81m-kCpu: Intel xeon e3 1231 v3Ram: KINGSTON HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600MHzPower supply: Corsair CX600 V2SSD: Samsung evo 850 250gbGpu: asus nvidia gtx 680This is not like critical problem but its annoying af and it would be nice to know what is broken so I can buy a new one or fix the component. I've tried to do clean boot from msconfig nothing really happened.Help would be appreciated.

I have zero clue to why this is happening. I was using my laptop just fine the other day and all of a sudden I started getting this every time I try to turn it on. I cannot boot in safemode. I cannot uninstall latest quality update or latest feature update. I tried bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd, bootrec.exe /fixmbr, and bootrec.exe /fixboot but it says "Access is denied." Whenever I try to use cmd to access my c drive it says something along the lines of drive is locked by bitlocker drive encryption, no access, etc. I'm so desperate to get this piece of junk running at least one last time so I can grab what I need to grab... I'd like to keep the files I have on the laptop if possible. Please helpppp.

I came home today from school ready to get onto my computer but when I booted the machine up it ran as usual until a blue error message stating that that my PC did not start currently came up with only the options to click “Restart” or “Advanced Options” I’ve restarted the pc multiple times and also have checked inside of it to see anything that looks out of place. I know this problem can lead to lots of things but I felt like this would be the place for the best people to try and help me narrow down and fix this issue.

One day my cousin was using pc but suddenly there was a power cut . After that everytime he used his pc it used to auto turn off while running and used to lag a lot. So without any knowledge he thought that changing the windows version would solve . So he tried installing windows 7 (from windows 8). Boot Priority 1.CD 2.HDD = After turning on the pc it shows windows logo and under it , it show preparing automatic repair then black screen with some sentences and then the pc restarts and same thing happens. {Attached video(don't mind the monitor)} Boot priority 1.HDD = It says no operating system was found . Hi, I'm new here, I know you told me to look at other threads to see if I could find my problem but I can't find it. Windows 10 64bit So I wanted to start up my pc and then 'prepairing automatic repair' came and then it tries to fix it and then I get 'PC can't be fixed or something with automatic repair'. I tried a lot of stuff, but it didn't work. what do I do? If you know ask for further information because now it's too much to explain Thank you in advance!

Hello all, My PC is acting erratically and inconsistently at boot; inconsistently because it boots fine about 50% of the time, without any changes made between shutdown and boot. Below are each of the issues I've been having. 1. It began with "disk read error" upon startup which led to me cleaning my boot drive and reinstalling Windows 10. The error persisted, so I checked the cables (which, yes, I now realize I should have done first), and I have not seen the disk read error message since, yet. 2. After disk read error subsided, then I boot up. During boot, the PC shut off. Randomly just shut down, without a command, and even without having reached Windows login yet. This happened only once, but I am still concerned. 3. Most recently upon booting, the windows logo appears and says "Preparing automatic repair" then takes me to a page asking me to choose a keyboard layout. Neither my mouse nor keyboard work here, so I am forced to hard-shutdown, by holding power button. After that, and it seems to boot just fine again, right into Windows, as if nothing is wrong. This most recent issue is still occurring, (4. Separately, a minor display issue: 10% of the time, the display goes black after Windows login page begins to load. It's as if my monitor isn't receiving signal. This is fixed simply by unplugging then re-plugging in the HDMI cable from the GPU. Not sure why this happens,it doesn't seem major, but is obviously a problem, nonetheless. Note: my Nvidia driver is updated.) I get into Windows about 50% of the time, and when I finally get into Windows, all runs smoothly. But there is clearly something wrong. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! For, I am actually afraid to shutdown my PC now because I don't want something to go wrong again during boot. Thank you. Hello there, I turned on my computer this morning and while loading Windows displayed a 'Preparing Automatic Repair' message followed by a 'Diagnosing Your PC' message, followed by a blue screen titled 'Automatic Repair' with the message: 'Automatic Repair Couldn't Repair Your PC Press "Advanced Options" to try other options to repair your PC or "Shut Down" to turn off your PC. Log file: D:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt' I have been trying various things but keep ending up back at the start, and am still unable to boot properly into Windows. Is there anything you people recommend me try?

Hello! My PC has encountered an issue where it turns on and blue screens before Windows even starts! It then quickly changes to a screen that says "Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC"..."Press advanced options to try other options to repair your PC or shut down, to turn off your PC. Log File: F:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt" I have tried to start in safe mode, and it turns on, however, I have been unable to start it any other way. When I try a system restore, my PC restarts and then blue screens again with the error "CRITICAL SERVICE FAILED", and then the loop starts again. Any ideas?

So I come home from them gym excersising and wake up my custom built PC as routine. It was taking rather longer than usual to come back from sleep and required me to tap on my keyboard again when it finally awakened. My monitor then presented me an BSOD error with what I recall seeing along the lines of "video_memory_management_internal" error and that it had gathered information and would restart. It did exactly as that and when Windows rebooted it went into "Automatic Repair" mode. It then presented me the first step: "Choose Keyboard Layout" with a list of different modes. That's fine and all, but I cannot continue and select beyond that screen. Both of my keyboards and mice fail to be recognized and I cannot insert input whatsoever. I restarted numerous times and still cannot escape this repair mode. I don't see why Windows cannot boot into desktop as normal. Prior to this dilemma I did not have any graphically intensive apps opened, just a photo editor and Chrome. I cannot seem to enter Safe mode as during POST with either keyboards. I am only able to enter my motherboards BIOS screen or able to select my boot device with a menu. My motherboard is an ASUS M5A78L-M LX Plus. My GPU is a EVGA GTX 760 Superclocked and OS is Windows 10. I can provide other specs if you need them to help guide me to troubleshoot. So until help arises I am stuck in an loop.
