I bought an AT2020 and a Scarlett Solo Gen 3 in July, and I've been having consistent issues with the volume level. I should be getting plenty of phantom power from the Scarlett (48V is on), yet my mic is still whisper quiet, even with all my system volume settings to max, speaking into the right side of the microphone, speaking close enough to the microphone, and gain set to a comfortable ~70%. Drivers are all up to date, and all my hardware is new and in good condition. I think it may be a Windows driver issue, or maybe a faulty XLR cable, but I really don't know for sure what the issue is and it's becoming very frustrating.

So I was casually listening to some music on my M50X's, which just hit 4 years of non-stop use (still in perfect condition though), and all of a sudden I felt like someone tapped on my left earcup, from the outside. I thought it was my partner, but I immediately turned around to find no one there I used to run these through a Scarlett 2i2, which just had its last breath this December, so I got an iD4 from Audient. All is working perfectly, and still is, but could it have been a popped capacitor? Do they even have capacitors inside? Judging from some quick searches they don't, but I can imagine they would. Or what else could it be? Does anyone have any experience with this, should I try to open them up, or just ignore and hope that they continue to live on as before?

Hi all, Hopefully someone can help me fix an issue iv come across with my new build. I have an AudioTechnica at2035 microphone plugged into a Line 6 ux2 running the podfarm 2 software, this audio setup worked perfectly for me with my old pc but since i built my new one its not working as intended. I'm having an issue with my audio setup being picked up on discord and other apps (games), the mic is being picked up on podfarm fine but when i go to set up my settings on discord then hit the "Lets Check" button the audio interface freezes and nothing comes through atall. Iv installed all the latest drivers i could think of, run every program needed as admin, turned it all on and off again, gone through discord settings, windows settings and pod farm settings with no success. I'm running windows 10.

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing well, I'm looking for a new headphone for work/gaming but mainly for work since I already own a corsair void pro that I use for gaming. I'm mainly going to use the headphones via Bluetooth on my work laptop and wired on the gaming pc (it doesn't have Bluetooth sadly), ANC would be a nice to have but it's not essential, good sound quality on the other hand is a must have. Having considered all that I have my eye on a Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT2 (50h battery life sounds amazing) but I'm also considering the sony wh 1000xm4 just for the ANC. My only experience with ANC is with the galaxy buds pro that I own for about a year now, I also have tried my sister's xm4's for about 15min and loved how it pretty much turned off the external world, but again ANC is a nice to have but not a must have for me since headphones in general already have good sound isolation. Any tips, advice or warnings?

Hi everybody! I’m trying to buy a decent over the ear headphone and a reasonable amp under $200 for both. I can stretch my budget up to $250, if there is any real benefit. I was thinking about either Audiotechnica M50X or similar Sennheiser product. I know about amps and DACs but not really familiar with any particular brand. My use case will be mostly for music. I listen to metal, psytrance, lofi, blues and many others. I’d rather prefer to hear all sounds vs overpowering bass. Also, comfort is an important factor. Sometimes I might have them on for couple hours nonstop. I don’t care about mic. I don’t want wireless for obvious reasons. I’m in US and have Amazon Prime. Thanks in advance guys!

Okay so i know the title there was total BS but i couldn't think of anything. My Question is this I've had my ATH-AD700x Open Back headphones for close to a year now. And well the Spark is vanishing in our relationship, im unsure if its the pads that i need to replace or if its the stupid wings on the top that dont even hold them to my head correctly even with a rubber band. i need help! So I've looked all over the net and a lot of good info I've seen in the past was in the now Dead TekSyndicate forums and well it ain't available now. So if you can help me out that would be great! So i either have to attempt to keep using the current pads i have by throwing them in the washer or hand washing them [ not velour just cotton fiber like material ] OR I find some other brand headphone whose pads will fit these cans or a aftermarket that makes pads for this exact model, as im often limited to E BAY i don't trust those cheap Chinese made pads that look like plastic half of the time. I also find the headphones just don't have that sparkle they used to have and sometimes sound normalized to me if that makes sense, dull and boring. i use a fiio e10k Olympus 2 amp.

Hi all, I've had my Cloud Core for around 2 years plus. Been thinking of upgrading. So far I'm thinking of getting an Audio Technica M40x with a cheap tube amp. However, I don't mind spending twice as much for getting the Senheisser HD598 if it is truly worth the money. So, what I'm trying to ask which one is the best value for money? Is it the M40x with the cheap tube amp (a shop here is selling it in a set) or the significantly more expensive (around twice as much in my country) HD598? I will using it mostly for music, movies and casual gaming. I have to mention that while I'm happy with the Cloud's sound, I'm really annoyed at the tightness of the headphone and the small cups since my head and ears are significantly larger than average. My ears and head will hurt after 3 to 4 hours of using it. I've replaced the default foam with HM5 foams and it solved the ear sores somewhat but is not completely gone either. So a bigger headphone and cups will be a huge plus to me. I've tested my brother's M30x with HM5 too and I find it to be more comfortable to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi, guys! My journey of looking for the best headphones for me may finally be close to an end, but I need your help beforehand. I ordered a DAC/AMP from a Polish ebay-like site yesterday (Fiio E10K + Fiio D3 for 60$ - I simply couldn't resist) and now I'm looking for a decent pair of headphones to accompany it. I've been holding back with my decision for months, because I realized, that I barely use headphones and I'm looking at studio-quality ones. But now I want to end this problem once and for all, especially when I found some very decent offers on that site (reliable ones, I should add - used, but in perfect condition). I can have: • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm with leather pads for <75$ (it's on an auction - at the moment it "costs" 40$, but the offer ends in two days and it will definitely rise in price, but I don't think that anyone will give more than 75-80$) • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm for 95$ • Audiotechnica ATH-M40X for 75$ • AKG K550 for 100$ (these are the only ones that I could test and all I can say is that I love them) Just to be clear - I probably won't be wearing these for very long sessions, I value comfort, I'll probably game with these more than listen to actual music (but of course, that'll happen too) and above all, I want them to sound the best for the price, like I want them to be an experience, not just listening (and I would say that AKG K550 has this kind of quality for me, so if the rest is better, then awesome). Huge thanks in advance! Thomas

Hello guys. When I'm using my headset with my phone and the cable twists while it's in my pocket, like the cable rotates as I walk and when the cable rotates it jumps to the next song in the playlist. And when the cable rotates to the other side it goes back to the previous song played. Like if there is a bind that when the cable twists it's a programmable function to tell the mediaplayer to either jump forward or backwards. So how do I fix this issue? I've googled but found nothing that describes my problem. And I don't have any issues with the headset when I'm using my PC. I'm using a LG G3 if it helps. EDIT: It's probably just the extra cable that comes in the box that acts this way.

So my current audio set up is a Steinberg UR22 interface, and plugged into it via XLR is an AT 2035 mic, and then also plugged into the interface via 6.5mm jack are my HD598s. I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on the HD600s or even a nicer set, so I'm wondering how my setup would look with all the things needed to power say the 600s. Would it be ok to have an amp/dac to plug the headphones into and still keep the audio interface needed for the mic? Or would that cause some latency issues or something? Any help is appreciated.

So I have 'narrowed down' my selection of new headphones to 4: Audio-Technica ATH-MSR7BK, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, Sennheiser HD 8 DJ, and Bluedio U Plus. If anyone who has any these headphones (or had) could help me out, I'm looking to use these for gaming and listening to more bassy music, and I currently have the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset. The only headphones I have tried on so far are the M50x's and I enjoyed the experience, but I still want to see what the others have to offer.

Hi guys, I was wondering if you could help me out choosing new closed-back headphones for under 200$/€. I've had the audiotechnica ATH-T500 (now called ATH-AVC500) for probably like 7 years if not more. They sound great in my opinion but their doom was ultimately the cable which got stiffer and stiffer every year and now the right cup is not playing. So I want something that sounds very similar but has a removable cable. I tried ATH-M40x but they sound absolutely horrible. They have very annoying V sound signature. Also the highs are very sharp. I gues I like it flat... although I don't know how the signature really is on ATH-T500s, I can just hear they are very noticeably flatter than the M40xs. I would be really grateful for all your suggestions (they don't have to be audiotechnicas). Thanks!

Hi, I have an Arctis 5 from 2016, and I really like it, but since it's starting to die soon, I want to replace them. I want to spend around 150-200 bucks for a gaming headset, and I found the Steelseries Arctis pro which has amazing sound (told by the reviewers). However I'm liking the idea of buying a headphone with a microphone separately. I did some research, and I found out that the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x's sound should be my taste (it has a bit of a V shape, and I like the bass and a bit more treble aswell). I would buy a 30 usd michrophone, that I can attach to it. My question is, will I get a much superior sound quality with a proper (150USD M50x) headphones over the Arctis pro (without gamedac 200USD)? I usually use my headphones for: gaming; chating with friends (discord) (the 30usd mic would be better then the included one for the Arctis Pro, I'm sure); music (pop, dubstep etc); a lot of videos (movies, youtube). For gaming, I usually play FPS and openworld adventure games, but I'm not a serious esport player, so I don't mind if the M50X's has a bit worse directional audio to locate the enemies. So in short, will I get much better sound quality with the M50X's over the Arctis Pro's? Is it worth the extra hustle?

Hey, I am new to this and was wondering if my Audio Technica ATH-R70X's would be a decent fit with an Audioengine D1(or similar AMP/DAC). And trying to get somewhat of a better sound from my pc at home. Any suggestions on what AMP/DAC of arround $150 would drive my Audio Technica decent?

I'm really on the fence which ones I should get. I hear some people shit on the ATH-M50x, but some people love it. I intend to use them for DJing, mixing, and general listening at my desk while playing games, etc. I have a Schiit Fulla 2, and I might use them with my laptops onboard audio when I can't use my Fulla 2, and obviously also my DJ mixer.

Hi all, Recently purchased a pair of Audio-technica Bluetooth heaphones (https://www.pccasegear.com/products/40335?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvd2psoyA3QIVBbaWCh2TBAxvEAQYASABEgLFf_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) and they're really nice. My desktop was custom built and didn't come with any Bluetooth capabilities. Wanted to ask what the best solution would be for the best sound quality when connecting these to my Desktop over bluetooth. I've seen some semi-cheap wireless dongles, but wanted to know the easiest and best solution to use these with my PC... Also, How would I use these with a TV? its not a smart tv and doesn't have Bluetooth, so would something like this work?http://www.alltech.com.au/en/home/390-wireless-bluetooth-receiver-35mm-aux-audio-stereo-music-home-car-adapter-v-30.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpdzNvY2A3QIVyAYqCh1suw6hEAYYASABEgKWQPD_BwE OR is there a better way to use these with a tv? Cheers

I am looking to buy a headset primarily for Gaming and can spend at most £120, maybe a tiny bit more if it's worth it. In the future I plan on purchasing the Mod Mic 5 so a mic is not necessary, however I've wondered if Audio Technica and other Music and Studio headsets are just as good or better for gaming? I've heard gaming headsets are just gimmicky, come with poor microphones and are a waste of money in general. Being able to determine where gunshots are coming from and locating enemies based on footsteps would be rather important to me and I do plan on buying an AMP and DAC in the future as well as the mod mic. I was considering the Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Open back headphones as I've seen reviews on amazon claiming that they were bought for the intended purpose of gaming and the users were extremely pleased, if there are any newer or better solutions I am definitely open to suggestions as I don't know very much about the audio side of components but want to spend my money wisely. One other concern is also that my room is somewhat small and I am worried that the sound blasting out from my open-back headphones would echo and be picked up by the mic for others to hear as I use Discord and Skype often and don't use push-to-talk as I am just chatting with friends and gaming with them sometimes. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also any suggestions on AMPs DACs (If they are needed) for particular headphones such as the ATH-AD500X or any others would be appreciated, I've watched a Linus video and Luke explained it to me so I somewhat understand but I'm not sure what brands to go with (if that matters).

I want to by a turntable and am in a dilemma over which one to get. They are both the same price, so I only care about the actual quality of product. I read that the TN is belt drive which makes it better compared the direct drive motor the LP has, is this true? How much difference does it make? If you have any other turntables to recommend I would be happy to hear them.

I just got a pair of AD700X in the mail today and the sound is kinda soft. Its plugged into the back of my PC and it sounds softer than my old pair of Turtle Beach X32s. WTF I dont know whats going on is there something more to it or is it just soft like this forever. Could it be my music app or something, I use Foobar2K for music. My games sound better and I can hear more of the suttle sounds and the guns are beefy but its not as loud as my X32s so yeah..... X 32 = 80$USD AD700X 105$USD R.I.P MUH WALLET.
