I've been in the market for a new pair of headphones for a little while. I currently own a pair of Arctis 7's, I know the M50x's are a fairly popular pair of headphones even with how old they are. They seem to stay around $220 CAD. I'm just wondering if any of you audiophiles could suggest any headphones that can compete with the quality of the M50x's and stay around the same price range.

I have an ATH-M50x headset connected directly into my Z97-A motherboard's green jack. I have noticed an annoying white noise sound in my headset when no or low audio is present. I have tried cleaning the connection points and having the headset wire touch as few other cables/ devices as possible but I still get the noise. I am thinking a DAC would fix this issue. From what I have read, an AMP is not needed with this level of headset and a DAC outside of my PC will get rid of the white noise. I am not really knowledgeable in this area but some posts I have looked at for entry level DACs mention the FiiO K3 and Schiit Modi 3. Would these or any other DAC be a solution to my problem?

So as my setup gets closer to being done, I feel like I already completed the audio section. But, I wanted some second opinions on what headsets I have. For music listening, I use the Audio Technicha (probably spelled it wrong) ATH-M50x. Right now, I plan for my gaming headsets to be the Razer Kraken Pro. I got it about several months ago for $39 dollars at a bargain store. It plays like its new, and every thing is in the box. Sadly its green (because my setup theme is blue) But should I consider another headset? I also own a Koton Each G2000 headset, should I use that headset instead for gaming? Or should I buy a new gaming headset? It will have to be under $100 if I decide to.

Hello everyone, this's my first post here and I'm not an audio expert by any means, so bear with me please I have been doing an extensive research for the past week for the best headphones I can get my hands on for both gaming and music. So here's what I'm looking for and what I have/do: Main use: Music - Trance/Techno tracks, sometimes a bit of classics, hiphop, and Jazz. I appreciate deep, clean, and not overpowered bass, also clear and present mids and highs. Gaming - No specific titles or genres; FPS, Racing, ARPGs, RTS, and sometimes MMOs. Soundstage and nice overall sound quality is what I'm looking for here. Sources: Desktop PC with onboard soundcard, nothing fancy, just a regular P67 Gigabyte motherboard. Macbook 2015 15". iPhone 6. Looking for: - Best Sound quality I can get (with decent soundstage for gaming). - Comfort, that's why all headphones I listed here are over ear ones. - I think I would prefer open or semi-open headphones (I never tried one to be honest) mainly for the more natural and balanced sound, breathability for the ears, also better soundstage from what I read. But if closed ones can provide better sound quality with enough comfort, I wouldn't mind. - Durability, as I'm not going to replace it anytime soon. What's locally available (Egypt): - BeyerDynamic DT990 Premium 32ohm: Used in mint condition for $80. - AudioTechnica ATH-M50x: Used in a very good condition for $133. - HyperX Cloud series: It's either the CloudX Pro, or the Cloud 1, mainly because they have the extra velour ear pads which off what I read, make them a bit more open, with better soundstage and more balanced lows, mids, and highs. I can get these new in the range of $67 - $100. Also available, yet I'm not sure they worth mentioning: - Bose SoundTrue: New for $83. - Sennheiser HD 201: New for $40. - Sennheiser HD 451: Used for $33. So, what do you think are the best options for my needs? and in what order? Thank you very much in advance, and I really appreciate any input.

Hey all, So after nearly 2 years of use, my Hyper X Cloud II's decided to retire. I'm currently in the RMA process and I have 2 weeks to decided what I want for my next headphones. Firstly some general info: Like most people here asking for advice, my main use will be gaming and music. I'm no audiophile, but I do appreciate good quality sound. My main source for music is Spotify, streaming at 320kbs. I live with people who do not necessarily appreciate my music taste (Playing: Toto - Africa and Snake Eater on loop is apparently bad ) and my desktop is not so faraway from my head so during gaming it can get bit loud. As you might have guessed already, open headphones are no go. When I originally chose these headphones, what made me buy them was the very good sound quality for "gaming grade headphones" and the attached microphone. I don't require attached microphone anymore, I can grab some ModMic or BoomPro to take care of that part. What i'm looking for here is good sound quality for music and gaming, and comfort, for a budget of an around 200€ max. While i'm perfectly happy with the sound quality of Hyper X Cloud II, I have always wanted to take the jump to the entry level audiophile gear. So what are the headphones I have looked at so far: Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm or 80 Ohm (Still in the process of figuring out whats the difference): There will be no doubts about the comfort of these headphones, being the same style as the Hyper X II. However I heard that these are not so great for gaming? Beyerdynamic DT 990: I said that open headphones were no go, but I have heard these being described as "Semi open" . However, I'm worried about possibility of audio leak to the microphone. Also, they are on the more expensive side considering. Sound would be amazing however. Audio-Technica ATH-M50x: Its really hard to figure out these ones. I have heard that they are very good entry level audiophile headphones, but I have also heard that they are overpriced garbage meant to trap people like me who are considering jump from gaming level, to entry level audiophile. Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Plus: These are very interesting. I heard that they are on par with the ATH-M50x on sound quality, they have that fun bass switch which I think I might need in my life. Comfy factor is also guaranteed by being Beyerdynamics. However, seems like these are quite under the radar headphones? There isn't much talk about these. I wonder whats the reason for that? Hyper X Cloud II or Hyper X Cloud Revolver: What can I say, I know it will work for me 100%. It would be very boring choice, but wouldn't be the wrong one. Some last words: Amps. I don't have one, but in the future, I might consider getting one if the headphones I end up getting will benefit from them. Feel free to suggest me headphones, share thoughts and ideas about the ones I have listed, anything really. Thanks all, I hugely appreciate the help I have gotten from the LTT forums in the past

Hello guys, I am looking for a new headset under £150 (British Moneys) At the moment I am looking to get one of these two headphones: Audio Technica M50x or Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro I have researched these 2 and they seem to have pretty good reviews and I think that I will be able to use them without an amp/dac (Might get one later). Is there any better options within the price range? I am also looking at getting a mod mic, what is the sound quality like from these? I haven't done much research but I have heard good things about them. Any other suggestions are welcome! - Jam

So it’s no secret that my original purchase of the M50x was mildly controversial, and actually looking back now, I can see why. I was a young gun back then, with little to no knowledge about the audiophile’s world, and was tempted by the prettiness of the headphones. However, since making my original review of the M50x, I am not afraid to give it a second bout and truly write down on paper how it feels to use it. You can read my original review here, however the original review now means nothing due to this revisiting of the headphones. Note that, because of this revisiting of the ATH-M50x, the old review is now deprecated, but will remain up for the sake of transparency from how I used to feel about the headphones, and in contrast with present day. I have since been able to experience a number of Hi-Fi products including the Tin T2, FiiO FH5, and most notably my vintage 1993 pair of Sennheiser HD 580 Precision headphones. All of which beat the M50x’s shallow sound signature in some way. Without beating around the bush too much longer, I have returned to give the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x a second review and am officially U-turning them, and revisiting my previous thoughts about these headphones from a now well-oiled pair of ears after experiencing genuinely high-fidelity audio for myself. The format of this revisit will follow the formatting of all my previous audio reviews for the sake of keeping things as mirrored as possible, and to give me an opportunity to review my previous opinions without having to actually use the M50x for an extended period of time ever again. If you’ve read my original review, you will know I previously praised the M50x for their sound quality. Well, fast forward to today and they’re absolute trash. Highs The highs are literally nowhere to be found. Treble is very absent, and if EQ’d enough, become super sibilant and hissy. The highs are easily the weakest part of the headphones, as they lack any bit of punch and power. The highs excite none, and in fact have about the same excitement as stepping in a pile of shit, and actually the highs sound like the drivers have dog feces inside them anyway so it’s not too harsh of a comparison. Mids The mids are also extremely weak and absent, and just seemed like they called in sick to work, forever. Mids are completely flat and quiet, even with the volume cranked. You would find better mids in a pair of $5 Walmart headphones with an excessively V-shaped sound signature. The M50x just does not have any strength in the mids at all. Lows If there’s anything that can redeem the M50x, it is the lows. They’re actually there unlike the mids and highs. Unfortunately, they’re about as clear as if you stuck peanut butter and cotton balls into your ears before you put these headphones on. They are extremely muddy and lack any real clarity, and on top of that don’t even produce very much boom. They are underwhelming to the highest degree. The lows on paper were supposed to be the chosen one, but just like Anakin Skywalker, these can frankly die in a fire. No, these will not be resurrected into Darth Vader. While I admit I might have been a little too explicit, I can no longer keep it a secret that I absolutely hate these headphones now after experiencing greener pastures. The M50x just has a rancid sound signature to them, and I frankly don’t understand what demographic would want these as daily drivers. You could argue that the tonality in the low end could be geared towards people who are into hip-hop and rock, but even then, the lows are so muddy that you’re not going to enjoy your music at all. Add to that that the M50x are super leaning into the low-end, it’s not even going to be good for mastering and mixing music productions. These headphones for $150 are just not worth the money, no matter how convenient they are in terms of other features I had bought them for in my original review. No, I will never be using these headphones ever again, no I don’t intend to give them any further chances, no I do not enjoy the hideous sound signature, but yes I will voluntarily send them to landfill free of charge. I should probably finish by saying that despite how much of a sore jerk I'm being to these headphones, and how I have held no punches, I genuinely don't find these good headphones anymore especially for the price. The sound quality just does not match up to anything else I have used since then.

Hey everyone, So I am upgrading my PC audio options from my Corsair Void Pro RGB's (Which have been great) to a headphone and dedicated mic set up. I already had a Schiit Audio Fulla 2 that I bough a while back and I am using that to drive the headphones for now, in the future I will go to the Schiit Stack with the Magni and the Modi. For a mic I got the Blue Yeti in "Midnight Blue" and a pop filter combo with a ok stand for it. I bought a pair of Sennheiser HD 280 Pros to go with it but after I got them in I am not the happiest with them. They sound pretty good but the eair pads and headband strap are no that nice and are really crappy leatherette that squeaks against my glasses frames, plus they don't have the nicest plastic body. What I am looking into now is the one up model of the 280 pro and the equivilents from the competitor. So out of the Sennheiser HD 380 Pro, the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro and the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x's which should I get? I would like a little better audio for the extra money, but really want better comfort and build quality. Also I would like a detachable cable aswell but not the biggest deal. Also if there is another pair opf headphones I should look at I am up to other brands,

So I just purchased a brand new Rode AI1 along with brand new ATH-M50x's. I have been having problems with weird static/shuttering when audio is playing through the headphones, but only when they are plugged into the AI1 interface's headphone port. And only sometimes. I was recording some tracks just yesterday on my Mac, and had no problems. And, for a while, I wasn't having problems on my windows 10 PC, but then the static started. I have tried all the very basic things, unplug, different wire, checking settings, but I can't seem to figure it out. I'm very new to high end audio, so any tips would be great

Hi, and welcome to my experience with the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, a pair of headphones which I've longed after for over four years, and I've finally been able to afford them after months of working at my new job. I bought my white ATH-M50x for £113 from Amazon UK, and after using them for a bit, that is about as much as I'd pay for them at retail price. Disclaimer before I pitch in my two cents, yes I know there were other options out there that are far superior in terms of sound and build quality, but my decision to buy these particular headphones boiled down to these things, in no particular order: Aesthetics - the white aesthetic of the headphones are beautiful Portability/Flexibility - the fully-rotatable earcups that fold up to boot, as well as the detachable cables My desire for new headphones Admittedly, the sheer popularity of these headphones With that out of way, I'll pitch in my perspective, as a non-audiophile, on the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x. Firstly I'll talk about the design and build of the ATH-M50x. When I first got them, I was struck at how large they were since I had never seen a pair of ATH-M50x in the flesh before buying them, even the box it came in was much larger than I imagined. When I first took them out of the box, I felt the nice materials that Audio-Technica had used, and was also greeted to the three detachable cables which are a neat touch for the portability of these headphones. The detachable cable was one of the most compelling features of the M50x in my mind, and it certainly paid off and now I use the coiled cable for desktop use and the shorter two for other uses such as using the headphones with my phone. Additionally, the fully-foldable earcups were one of the top three features that I was anticipating for these headphones, and they didn't disappoint. The foldable earcups make for portability that I've never experienced before, they're so compact and fit into the included pouch nicely. The design of the headphones are amazingly-beautiful too, it's fully white with silver accents, it looks super classy. The headphones themselves are larger than I expected and thus look a slightly large on my head as well as feeling heavier too, but the design is definitely not something I'm ashamed of. The headphones have quite a modern design to them, althought the headband and the hinges look quite dated to me, which actually contributes nicely towards the timeless design of the M50x. Onto the main reason why I bought these, the sound quality. It's a contradictory statement because again, I had never touched or seen these headphones with my own eyes before I bought these, but coming from standard consumer-grade headphones such as the Status Audio HD One, Sony MDR-ZX310, and some earphones such as the Sennheiser MX365, Sennheiser MX375, and the Samsung AKG earphones, I had no doubt that the M50x would tower over them all. I'm not the best at explaining things, so I'm going to put some songs and I'll talk about my experience with the songs while wearing these headphones. A bit of background on the type of music I listen to: Korean Pop Bubblegum - Twice, Apink, Red Velvet etc Dancehall - KARD, BTS, (G)-I-DLE, Got7, Stray Kids, Day6 Ballad - BTOB, Cheeze, EXID, Taeyeon I'm not too great at explaining specific terms, so I'm going to try my best at explaining parts of songs using my own terminology. I'll be listening to the YouTube music video versions of these songs, so the timestamps displayed are for those. Song 1 (Bubblegum Pop) - Apink - Eung Eung 0:12 - The intro synth jumps up and down and is so pronounced and clear, then slowly gets accompanied by drums and a light lullaby of a female vocal which is super soothing to hear, everything is balanced and everything has its place on the sound stage. 0:45 - The female vocals accompanied by what I can tell is a light synth and a faster backing synth form harmony nicely to keep the pace of the song flowing as well as keep the female vocals in the spotlight, I can hear the faster background synth nice and clearly which is amazing. 0:59 - The background chip-tune is high and pronounced which gives so much body to the verse, especially since the vocalists at this section is so crisp and clear. 1:12 - I love that it all comes together nicely, with the chip-tune accompaniedby the intro synth and again the beautifuly-pronounced female vocals. I could hear every bit of it including the light bass reverb, the vocals again stand out the most here. 2:44 - I really love how much the female vocals shine in this section, I can hear every chord and it's entrancing how soothing they sound, especially since they are accompanied by a light chip-tune. 3:12 - This part is pretty much an enhanced intro and I love every bit about it. The synth is so sharp, the drum hit is so much more pronounced, and the soft hum by the female vocalist is a beautiful set. Song 2 (Dancehall/EDM) - Stray Kids - District 9 0:20 - The hard-hitting synth and bass combo is a blast of metal to my ears, quite literally, because it sounds so metallic and rough, accompany that with the harsh raspy voice of the vocalist and it's quite a badass combination that is so energetic 0:42 - The second the vocalist just tears up the scene and the bass and drums just explode, it is an amazing listening experience, the drum hit is so pronounced, the vocalist is so clear, and the guitar is so rough and gritty, it makes for an energetic and soulful chorus 1:04 - Hearing the vocalist say "District 9" followed by a piercing synth, heavy bass, and light synth in the back is again such an energetic vibe. 2:32 - Hearing this vocalist's exceptionally low, growly, and raspy voice accompanied by the synth, guitar, and light clapping is such a badass moment to hear, followed by a build-up to the chorus that just finishes on an epic note. Song 3 (Pop Rock) - Day6 - Shoot Me 0:06 - The melodic vocal flow combined with the drums and the synthiser makes for an ominously-low sound which is excellent given the vibe of the song. 0:34 - I absolutely love the drums replicating the gunshot, it stings my ears every time and it's epic, especially since it's followed by a series of guitars, synths, and light bass which makes for an awesome head-banging rock metal song chrous. 1:14 - The raspy dirty guitar riff is so rough and gritty accompanied by the vocal's indeed rough and gritty vocal tone, with the symbals in the off-beat. 1:15 - The harmony of the vocalist's mid notes with the symbal hits and the light guitar run is so light and crisp and makes for an amazing low note. Okay so that ended up being more of what I appreciate from K-pop music, but the TL:DR I suppose is that, I can hear everything in such clarity and sound signature than I used to be able to. The sound is impeccable for the type of music I listen to, where female vocals generally dominate the scene, or else it's the backing instrumentation that steals the spotlight. The instruments are so pronounced and the vocals are so clear, it's great. I want to touch once again on the build and design, these are super portable headphones, and it has an amazing design to boot. These are super stylish headphones especially in white, at least to me. I hope you can appreciate that I am by no means an audiophile or even anything close to a music producer/analyst, as you could tell from my terminology in explaining parts of songs. I'm simply a music lover, I take what I want that provides me with the best listening experience I can get for my type of music whilst also having headphones that look classy and premium, and the ATH-M50x ticks all of those boxes.

Hey there, I am planning on getting these Headphones (Audio Technica "ATH-m30x or ATH-m50x) but, I am not sure there are going to fit my Big Head. I usually wear 2x-3x Football Helmet, depending how long my hair is. Most Likely a 2x at the moment. I wear Astro a40s TR Edition and these Headphones fit just fine. But are these headphones big enough for me? Are they Adjustable on the sides, if so how much? By the way ill be getting them from Amazon.com US.

I bought my pair of ATH-M50X headphones ready to experience "true audio" compared to my Siberia 650 Headset (because it is the law that all gaming headsets are fucking garbage and can't amount to the cheapest of headphones). The first thing I did was play Toes by Glass Animals from my Lumia phone. Starts out just fine, then 10 seconds in I get this fucking static. I'm thinking, "What gives? I just paid good money for these shits...maybe it's just my phone acting up." I get home, plug them into my PC for a sound comparison to my Siberia's, hoping the static was just on my phone. Sadly, the instant I start playing any song, the M50X's crackle the entire length of any song. It doesn't matter if the literal breakdown is actually silence, it's still crackling. Again, what fucking gives? I understand that to achieve the best audio possible I need a DAC. But are you telling me, that in order for my brand new headphones to work I have to spend another $170 on a DAC for my PC and can't listen to anything at all on my phone? I see Marques Brownlee walking around praising these headphones like his life depended on it and plugs them straight into his phone. Are my options literally limited to, spend more money on something just so I can get rid of this crackling that makes enjoying music impossible OR just refund these headphones and never get another pair unless I can shelve out at least $290 just for the shits to work like they're supposed to. This was really rant like. I apologize for that because it really does make me look like an idiot, which I am sadly. I'm just really pissed off that something so ridiculous is happening with what is called the "best value headphones on the market." (Debatable sure, don't argue about that shit now.)

Ok, so I want a good headset or good headphones. I can't decide between the Blue Yeti and the ATH-M50x's(if you have better recommendation around this price range that's better, feel free to recommend) or a really good headset. As for the headset, I heard the HyperX Cloud II is amazing. My main problem is that in Skype, when I don't talk, my mic resorts to background noise which is my air conditioner. Thanks for the assist LTT forum!

So I just bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50X and they sound amazing, but they lack any amount of bass. I like more bass in my music because I listen to a lot of dubstep and hip hop. I would like a USB dac that boosts my bass and I have a budget of 50-75 bucks. I also want a headphone stand to keep them on.. Thanks

Greetings. The Audio Technica ATH-M50x has long been regarded as the best audio quality in a pair of headphones south of $200, and are currently some of the most popular headphones in existence. However, I've heard a fair bit about the more recent Sennheiser HD 598s, and was wondering how those compare to the aforementioned M50Xs in terms of audio quality. If anyone here has used both (preferably in the realm of audio production or audiophile criticism), what are your thoughts? Regards, Aereldor.

Greetings from Canada! I've been wanting to step up my audio game lately. I've been using Siberia v2's, and the Razer Krakens for years and I think it is time for me to go for legit headphones instead of "GAMING HEADPHONES". I will mostly use them for listening to music (on my phone (iPhone 5s) and PC), and maybe a few games. I listen to a broad group type of music. Most of them being techno/house/drumstep, rock and roll, punk rock, RnB, hiphop, and some rap. I've been told it is best to invest into a amp/dac before I buy headphones like the "Objective2 + ODAC". While I can tell the audio differences on the Krakens and the siberia, I still DO NOT understand when people say "It sounds very warm" or "it's very flat". Please bear with me! What should I do ? People been telling me to just buy the "ATH-M50x" it's a very good headphone for your money, Maybe it helps to say that, I do plan in picking up the habit of DJING very soon. What's the best value for my money !? Thanks!

I'm back! So I just purchased a pair of ath-m50x's and I'm wondering if my onboard soundcard (ALC1150 on ASRock z97 extreme4) is high enough quality to get the most out of my purchase. I still have a leftover budget of up to 75 dollars. Any recommendations for an external DAC/Amp within my budget or is my onboard soundcard perfectly fine/I would need to spend more than my budget to actually improve them?

Hey Guys, I am looking to move away from headsets for gaming to specifically headphones and separate microphone as I have a blue Microphone. I have heard the headphones mentioned in the title are great but I was wondering if anyone has used them for gaming and also if they have used them with an Astro Mixamp or equivalent? I have had the mixamp for a long time and no matter what headset I have used it has given good sound, so I can only imagine the sound on headphones will be great! Any help would be appreciated. Kyle

Hi, I was surfing amazon when I found a deal for ATH-M50x with a bonus Photive CYREN Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker coming with it. it is the same price as the headphones without the speaker. Should I get them? Also if anyone got them do they still come with a warranty. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00G2LW92S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1M0GZGHL8F7T8

Hi guys, as the title says, I am thinking about upgrading my listening experience with a new pair of headphones along with a good sound card/dac/amp. Currently I am using Sennheiser HD 439 plugged into my PC's motherboard which has Realtek ALC892 chip in it. I am using this headphone for the last 2-3 years (!!) but the motherboard is fairly new. I am very happy with the sound quality of the headphone and its comfort level. I have speakers but I hardly use them, let's say, may be just 5 times a month! So, I am completely a headphone person. I use them for about 4-6 hours a day on weekdays and over 16 hours on weekends. I play games everyday but love music and movies too. I don't take my headphones out of home so I don't need portability. I wear spectacles, so too tight headphones are not welcome to me! I live in India where weather is generally on the hot/warm side, therefore I usually avoid leather/pleather type of cushions because they become very hot, humid and uncomfortable sooner than I want! That's why I went for HD 439 over HD 449 on the first place as 439 has cloth/valor (??) padding while 449 doesn't. I never used any dac/amp so I have no idea how much they can improve my listening experience! Kindly note that in India brands like Schiit are not available, even not all products from FiiO are available! Now I am thinking about getting a new pair of headphones as well as a good sound card/dac/amp to boost my experience. I have spend some time reading/watch reviews etc. on several headphones, sound cards/dac/amp and finally came up with (after considering current Indian online/offline market and price) 4 headphones/headset that I might like! 1. Sennheiser HD 558 Price (Approx.) : Rs. 10,268 / $162.15 2. Audio Technica ATH-M50X Price (Approx.) : Rs. 10,124 / $159.87 3. Beyer Dynamic DT 770 PRO (80 Ohm Version) Price (Approx.) : Rs. 14,990 / $236.715 4. Sennheiser G4ME One (Just because I play games!) Price (Approx.) : Rs. 16,499 / $260.54 As for sound card, I like 1. Creative Sound Blaster Omni Price (Approx.) : Rs. 6,194 / $97.81 Official Link: http://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-omni-surround-5-1 I have included the sound cards just because I heard/read/watch that all of them have pretty descent DAC as well as good AMP. Adding their official spec page link as well, please take a look, if you want! For Dac/Amp I can only find Fiio E10K Price (Approx.) : Rs. 8,090 / $127.75 even if it's not widely available! Now can you help me choose? NOTES: 1. I like my Sennheiser HD 439 very much for all possible reason! 2. I am from India so I like Bollywood music, Rabindra Sangeet (i.e. Tegore Songs), Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias, Guiters etc. (But I don't mind listening to any kind of good music except Opera) 3. I watch many movies. 4. I play games very seriously! 5. India is hot and humid. 6. I wear spectacles, so comfort will be a big issue. 7. I will not spend huge amount of money any time soon after buying these because these things are pretty darn expensive in India man! 8. I love HD 439 but don't have any Idea if I will like open headphones like HD 558 or closed one like ATH-M50X. 9. I don't have a place to live demo these headphones from where I live 10. I will not take out my headphones out of my home. 11. Budget around $200 for headphones and $100-$150 for sound card! Thanks for your help and time, if you need any more information, feel free to ask. Happy listening guys

Hey guys, Whilst I was looking for a good AMP/DAC solution, I realised I knew nothing about the subject. To make a long story short, I'm looking for a solution to power my ATH-M50X. I'm willing to go up to a max of about 250/300 Euro's. Thanks ~MajorTickles

Hi, I'm currently using the Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones paired with an Objective2 and ODAC combo. I was thinking of upgrading to a better pair of headphones that would make better use of the Objective2. I'll be using it for listening to music and playing games. I generally listen to Orchestra (Video game soundtracks) and rock music. Most of my music files are in FLAC format which I play on Foobar2000 with the Wasapi plugin. This pair of headphones will only be used on my desktop so size and portability is not an issue. Here are the requirements: Clean, Neutral sound. Solid and sturdy build quality. Utilizes the Objective2's capabilities well. Circumaural All black (I'm very obsessed with aesthetics) I don't currently have a budget but it would be great if you could suggest a pair of headphones that is, in your opinion, worth the money. Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I seem too picky. Thanks

So I decided to get new headphones for my pc. My budget was under 150 dollars or 1200 Norwegian krone. I generally play games and listen to music. So should I go with Creative Aurvana live! 2 or Audio Technica ATH-M50x? And also do I need a sound card with my MSI gaming 5 motherboard? Thanks in advance.

After about 1.5 years using a sony playstation headset for gaming, I've decided that I need an upgrade. I've been debating between the Custom One Pros and ATH-M50x for some time while also looking at sennheiser 558s. I'm really looking for a pair of headphones that have a good build, are somewhat portable (really would like folding) and, most importantly, will have killer sound quality. I live in Canada, and I absolutely cannot spend more than $200 CAD incl shipping, and would really like to spend less. I'm not partial to any brands, but don't want to buy from a brand that dosen't have some backing. I'll be gaming with the headphones, and while I will mainly listen to EDM/Dubstep most of the time, I do enjoy some (older?) songs from bands like the Beatles, Donovan, etc. I really need a removable cable after all the headphones I've killed by breaking the cables. I don't have a dac/amp/sound card and will be using the onboard audio on my ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe as well as on my phone.
