Hii I'm using asus rog strix g512li.. My CPU frequency is stuck at 788Mhz, I have no overheating issues with my laptop and apart from that I have actually cleaned it again but sadly I am not seeing any change. My laptop is mostly on turbo mode but the CPU frequency is just 788Mhz doesn't matter what I do like Games Or any software..it doesn't increase a bit until I restart it 2-3 times for few seconds. Is there any solution for this

Been watching LTT for a while but never checked out the forum. Hoping someone here might have some useful tech tips because I'm at the end of my rope here. I've had this Asus ROG Strix G17 laptop for I think a little over a year now, and it's been working fine up until a few days ago. There have been a few symptoms, and I'm not sure they're all related, but the main one is that the system very often will fail to boot. Specifically, the "ROG" logo will flash on, then the Windows "spinning circle of dots" will appear underneath and spin for a second or two. But then the dots freeze still, or occasionally stutter through a few frames and then freeze. Once that happens, the computer will stay like that indefinitely (I've left it overnight as a test). A key detail is that this doesn't happen every time, just most of the time. After several tries, I have repeatedly gotten Windows to boot just fine, and after booting it seems to work without issue. It's worth noting that I've never had a problem getting into the BIOS menu; that always comes up reliably, so I know it can boot that far. Another potentially related symptom is that rarely, when restarting and restarting in an attempt to get into Windows, I will receive a Blue Screen with the stop code CLOCK WATCHDOG TIMEOUT. I've tried... SO many things. I'll attempt to name the relevant actions: I cloned the OS disk to a brand new drive and swapped them- no improvement. This has me thinking that it's not a bad drive (technically there is a second, non-bootable drive in there as well, but I don't know why that would matter). I tried booting off a Windows installation USB drive to attempt repairs, and the same thing happened (it froze while trying to boot from the USB), which makes me think it's not a bad Windows install that's causing the problem either. Twice, when booted into Windows, I attempted an "in-place upgrade" (repair install), which each time failed and rolled back because of a hung reboot. I've reseated the RAM. I've run the Windows memory diagnostic tool which found no problems. I tried "Load Optimized Defaults" in the BIOS (even though I hadn't changed anything). I've tried booting without any external devices connected. Nothing plugged in at all besides the charger. Details on specs: The BIOS version is 331, which I believe is the latest. Processor is a Ryzen 9 5900HX w/ Radeon Graphics. GPU is an RTX 3060 Laptop. It has 2 8 GB sticks of RAM for a total of 16 GB (I don't know the type, whatever came with the computer). What else can I even test for or look at at this point?

So now is blocked. I tried to remove CMOS Battery for 20 minutes to reset bios settings by default and didn't work. It still ask me for the BIOS password so I can't acces into my pc which I use for work! ¿Does anyone have a solution for it? Thanksssss. In order to proof this PC is completely on my property I attached a screenshot of my PC on my ASUS account.

Need Help with New Build! So long story short, had an existing build, wanted to opt for a better graphics card, bought an RTX 3070 and gave in and ordered a bunch of other stuff. My setup how I ordered (and partly assembled): Asus Rog Strix x570-E Motherboard Gigabyte Nvidia RTX 3070 AMD Ryzen 7 3800x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (1 stick) 16GB 3600mhz Ordered a single stick by accident, meant to order dual kit 3600/3200mhz. NZXT Kraken Z63 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB NVME Corsair RM650X NZXT H510 Elite 2 additional Aer RGB Fans, Hue+. Now the problems were piling up very shortly. Fans were not working (still haven’t figured out if it broke). Decided to let the fans for what it is, and see if everything worked how I want it too. I booted up the build, got into BIOS saying “CPU Fan Error!) I’m pretty sure I didn’t connect something the right way on my Z63. But then came the bad part: I had installed my old RAM sticks, which are LPX Vengeance 16GB 3000mhz. I set the speed to 3000, save changes, exited the BIOS, wanted to power up my PC then I got the well known yellow light on Asus boards indicating a RAM problem. Tried everything, switching sticks in slots, reseating my CPU (which nearly broke like 5 pins, whole nother headache) to where I finally gave in and opened the wrongly order singly channel stick. Put it in the right slot, BOOM, booted all fine! NO WAY JOSE, I was back in the BIOS again. Again “CPU Fan Error!” Came up. Googled it fairly quick, changed the CPU fan speed to ignore to first see if everything still boots correctly. Saved changes and exit, BOOM, back to the RAM LED indicator which suggests something to do with that. I been up till 4 AM yesterday, had about 3 nervous breakdowns today, still haven’t got the fans working, and now I still have the reoccuring RAM Error going on. I know it’s a very long text, I have searched and searched in Google, couldn’t find anything super useful, if anybody here is in a Christmas mood and would give some advice, help, anything, it would be greatly appreciated! Happy Holiday’s guys, and let’s hope 2021 will bring us all what we desire!

Thanks for any help in advance! A little backstory: I built two generally identical PC’s. Recently updated the BIOS and Windows (in that order) on one of the machines. It ran through the rest of the day but the following morning would not boot. Issue: Boot loop into BSOD where three different stop codes alternate appearing. I.e. first message appears, then when the restart occurs sometimes one of the other messages will appear) Stop Codes presented: ”Kernel security check failure” “Unexpected kernel mode trap” ”System thread exception not handled” I understand most people point to a driver issue and have seen recommended steps to resolve. However, I cannot seem to get to any of the aptly mentioned areas. Cannot load Windows (Thus can not figure out how to create dump files), WinRE, Safe Mode, Bootable USB Media. All attempts bring me to this screen. I’ve seen rare instances of it preparing to repair but it kicks to the stop code screen within no more than 2 seconds. Being that I have two essentially identical systems I swapped the NVME SSD’s to test. Result: The issue does not follow the SSD. Swapped the RAM as well with no change. Haven’t swapped the CPU’s yet as I need to find my thermal paste (though I feel this may not be necessary). Specs: Windows 10 64-bit (Up-to-date) ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming BIOS Version 3003 AMD Ryzen 3200g G.SKILL 16GB (2 x 8GB) Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz Corsair CX Series 650W 80 plus bronze If these issues arose due to incompatibility of drivers with an update or other Windows OS specific problem. Why would the issue persist when a different Boot SSD was used? At any rate, I’m at a loss and very much appreciate any help in finding a resolution here. Thanks all.

I'm having issues updating my Crosshair VI Hero Wifi Bios so that I can use my Ryzen 7 3800X. I keep getting post Q-code "8" and I get no display to access the BIOS. It's a brand new motherboard and CPU. I even sent them both back because I thought it was a hardware issue. I've tried countless BIOS versions. My issue is that the Ez Flash button on the motherboard flashes 3 times and then stays on, indicating that the update failed. I formatted multiple USB Drives to Fat32 and renamed the BIOS files every way I could; C6H.CAP, C6HWIFI.CAP, C6H, C6HWIFI, Etc. This quarantine is driving me crazy and I've been out of a computer for a month now due to shipping times and getting the money for the parts. This is my first experience with Ryzen, so I don't have any other Ryzen compatable parts for troubleshooting. Any help to try and solve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I really love the design of ROG Motherboards over other enthusiast grade motherboards but what else is so special about them? Also i did like to get a ROG Maximus IX Hero soon, will this be a bad choice? Is it worth money?

Recently, I updated my BIOS to 5220. Now, PC randomly disconnects everything (Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, Case buttons) but all components are running (CPU fan and LED, Case fans, RAM LEDs, GPU LEDs, Mobo LEDs and also standby power led on mobo). But I cannot power off using the case power button. I have to pull the plug to shut it down. Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X470-F Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X GPU: MSI GTX 1070Ti Gaming PSU: Corsair CX 650 RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro SSD: ADATA SU650 Tried Solutions: Clearing the CLRTC and resetting the CMOS battery. Flashing the older BIOS version. Can anyone please help me with the issue?

This has been...very difficult for me to try and solve. My motherboard DOESN'T want to clock past 2133MHz at all. Initially I thought it was just my kit of RAM that I bought, but lo and behold, I used another kit of RAM and my PC refuses to POST. Onboard LED says it's a RAM problem. After 3 restarts, the RAM speed is reset back to 2133MHz. The motherboard's manual says that it supports up to 2666MHz (non OC'd) and 3200MHz (OC'd). I've used both Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB @ 3000MHz and Corsair Vengeance Pro, same capacity and speed. I'm not sure if there's that much of a difference between both RAM kits, but both don't POST. Will try and test with one RAM stick, but I highly doubt that'll help. I've checked my BIOS version, version 2901 being the latest. Checked firmware and other drivers that could affect this. Changed RAM slots. Checked the QVL list and it supports the Vengeance Pro kit (guessing universally as it doesn't have specific versions of RAM). I'm 99.9% likely thinking it's a motherboard issue since my motherboard says the max speed (shown in 2nd screenshot) for my Vengeance Pro kit is at 3000MHz. Any help/suggestions, please and thank you. COMPONENTS: CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard: ASUS ROG B450-F RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX & Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 3000MHz. PSU: EVGA 500W

Hi All. My laptop's RAM module failed recently so I'm running on the 8 gig onboard module for now. I wanted to know if I can go ahead and get THIS Samsung RAM module for the laptop.LINK TO LAPTOPCPU-Z DETAILSBonus question: Is it possible for me to get a 16 GB chip instead? I know the website says upto 16 GB but wouldn't an i7-6700HQ support 24gigs with this motherboard? Please advice.

Anyone know if its possible? Has anyone done this? I have seen those external enclosures for GPUs but I haven't seen one hooked up to a G750 before only MacBook Pros... The other obvious problems are the fact that despite Thunderbolt 1 being fast (I think Asus G750 has Thunderbolt 1) anyways its 10GB per second I think but even so it's not as fast as PCIe 3.0 I also heard its fine to run most cards on PCIe 2.0 so how would I go about doing this... Its not that I really really need it because a 860m is "OK" for most situations but for the futureproofness of being able to essentially upgrade my GPU.... Anyways. Help? Anyone? P.S...I'm thinking an EVGA 970 or something along those lines for the card Like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487070

So I was browsing newegg when a new product they have caught my eye. For 699$ I think it's a pretty decent desktop, especially for someone who isn't really in the alley to build their own computer. What do you guys think, is it worth it? The main thing for me is it includes windows 8.1 which is a pretty hefty price by itself when building your own rig. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220796&cm_re=asus_rog_desktop-_-83-220-796-_-Product
