Hey gang, A while ago I was asking around for laptop recommendations, and I ended up going with a roughly $600 ASUS TUF F15 with an 11th gen Core i5, a RTX 2050 and 8GBs of RAM. Its a very solid laptop (barring the 8GB RAM which hampers performance) and I'm enjoying my experiences with it... except for one issue. Whenever I have set the laptop to sleep and then proceed to wake it, the fans whirr up to 4000-5000 RPM before the system itself entirely reboots. This happens every single time I've put the laptop to sleep mode without fail and is an issue I have no idea why exists, and no idea how to solve. I've tried BIOS updates, profile switching in Armoury Crate, driver updates for both the CPU and GPU, switching off fast boot, switching off modern standby, multiple solutions on the internet & more and nothing has worked. So I come to the LTT forum for help as I'm running out of ideas and options. I really hope it isn't a hardware issue or something that requires a send to ASUS...

Hi there! I'm currently running: Intel Core i9 11900K ASUS TUF Gaming Z590 Plus 32GB DDR4 Kingston Fury 3600MT/s CL16 Renegade Black (2x16) Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700XT 12GB Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black (single fan) The rest of the components are irrelevant at this point. For a small side-job I did for a certain hardware supplier, I was given: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ASUS ROG STRIX B550-XE Gaming WiFi (I don't need WiFi) Noctua NH-D15 (original "coffee&mustard", dual fan) To which, after consulting ASUS' officially supported memory list and my local vendor availability I also bought 32GB DDR4 G-Skill TridentZ 3600MT/s CL17 (2x16) That machine still remains a bunch of boxes on top of my desk. ;) I intend to keep one of these computers to myself, while I also promised to give the other one to my wife... and that seems a tough decision to make. I am a programmer and systems administrator. Vast majority of my computer's uptime is Linux; often launching multiple VMs, developing and compiling software (those extra cores of AMD would probably be useful for `make -jX`), etc. I also do boot into Windows every now and then to play some games... and here's a problem I'll explain in a bit) My wife on the other hand is a graphic and web designer. Her uptime is solely Windows 10 and her workflow is mostly Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, XD. She's a gamer as well. Now, as I tried to google around in comparison of those 2 CPUs, they seem to perform very similarly in single-threaded workloads (with a bit of advantage towards Intel), and obviously in multi-threaded workloads AMD crushes the scores massively. Then when I tried to look for gaming performance I only found one relevant video in which again those CPUs performed close to identical (with a few average fps advantage on either of the sides), EXCEPT Red Dead Redemption II and GTA5, where AMD got butt-kicked by whooping 20fps+, and as it happens to be, Rockstar titles are the only ones I actually play... With my current Intel setup I run RDR2 Online at 2560x1600 (30" 16:10 60Hz monitor) with most settings at "ultra"; and that gives me stable 60fps, except some rare situations (crowded town at night during the rain; one or two ill-optimized locations). 1. If I chose to switch to AMD build (while keeping the above mentioned GPU) - would my RDR frames truly drop any noticably? 2. Would my wife's workflow benefit more from the AMD or the Intel build? I cannot find any credible comparisons again. 3. Should I put the dual fan variant of NH-D15 on Intel? Which one will truly run hotter? (build "design" doesn't matter; we're oldschool and both run non-glass, non-rgb cases that just sit under the desk) Thanks a lot in advance! :)

3080 arrived yesterday, swapping it out for a 1070 which I sold last month. The system boots perfectly without the GPU installed, it also boots if the 3080 is installed but I change video output to the onboard CPU graphics - but then 3080 does not show in task manager or device manager. My brother has an identical 3080 and when I plug it in the exact same thing happens. Both 8 pins are connected, its seated properly, tried display port and HDMI on the GPU. Tried without storage installed, rebuilt the system 20 odd times, new PSU is 850w. It was assembled in the case, but is now spread across the arm of a sofa - and I can still boot without GPU installed. I thought the pcie slot was broken, but if I set video output to auto and plug the display port into the motherboard it beeps at me to say graphics card error, whereas when I plug the display port into the graphics card the machine begins to boot, sends the successful boot beep code, then about 20s later sends out the failed to boot beeps - nothing is ever shown on the screen. So I'm guessing the motherboard can see it in the slot but is refusing to play ball. My motherboard is an old lenovo from a thinkcentre but is x16 slot so I don't think it matters, I'm running an old intel 4th gen or something but I never had problems with my 1070. I've updated bios, tried using ddu, tried throwing it at a wall and tried throwing myself at a wall. Still didnt work. Any ideas? I have a new motherboard, cpu and ram coming as I upgraded the whole PC, but they don't come until tomorrow and I'm impatient... thankkss Pics: gpu pcb is almost as big as mobo https://ibb.co/BC8f7Mz - top half mobo https://ibb.co/NypCXxv - underside - ik the slots that can be seen are pci, but the GPU is plugged into a 16x pcie.

Hello internet, My pc died on me and all arrows point to the motherboard. So guess I'm shopping for a replacement. Only problem is that I am not even close to up-to-date about the motherboard market so I'm gonna need some help. My current setup: Asus tuf X299 mk1 motherboard (the presumably broken one) I7-7800x GTX1060 DDR4-3200 32Gb RAM Some AIO cooler Some HDD Some fans and RGB (with hub) Now I'm looking for something that does the job, nothing too fancy or expensive, and that is ofcourse 100% compatible with the rest of the setup.

GREETING, FELLAS! Myself, Umang Udit a.k.a NinjaStorm. I've been doing some research about "ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX566HM-AZ096TS" for my future requirements as I would likely to be buying this gaming notebook by fall 2023. So, I've found out that there's a provision to possibly expand the internal storage as this notebook model have an additional SSD slot(s). According to the Tom's Hardware, this notebook model have the "1TB M.2 2230 NVMe PCIe" already installed into itself. But that much storage won't be sufficient for my daily usage. So, I would likely to be expanding the internal storage of this notebook model by the time I will make a purchase of it. And there, I need some relevant suggestions that should aid me with the valuable information I need in order to find the best compatible SSD expansion for this notebook model. So whatever you guys have in mind, comment them down below... https://www.amazon.in/ASUS-i9-11900H-RTX-3060-Office-2019-FX566HM-AZ096TS/dp/B096VJW3QH

I recently got my first desktop via NZXT BLD on Friday(I wish I had time to have actually built my own) and after two days of gaming with it, I noticed a few peculiar things with its performance. TLDR, FPS observed is anywhere from 16-25% lower than the numbers that have been posted by reviewer benchmarks. Since my knowledge about computers is very limited, I am not sure how to approach this potential problem (if there is one), and I was hoping someone here could help me out. PC specs: CPU: i7-10700 @ 2.90 GHz GPU: ASUS TUF RTX 3080 (performance on par, if not better than RTX 3080 FE) Motherboard: Maximus XII Hero RAM: TridentZ 3200 MHz 32Gb (4 x 8Gb) PSU: NZXT C1000 Gold One peculiar thing that I have noticed with this build is that its recorded temperatures are quite low, and I'm not sure if it's a problem or not. Seen on NZXT CAM, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, ASUS GPU TweakII CPU Idle temp: 25-30C CPU load temp: 45-50C GPU Idle temp: 23-26C - reviewer numbers see ~42C idle temp GPU load temp: 37-41C (I have never seen it go above 42C - even after 3 hours straight of HZD at aforementioned settings) - reviewer numbers see ~63C load temp GPU has no problem reaching near 100% load and ~2000MHz Clock speeds CPU usually report 4600 MHz clock speeds and reaches a max ~65 % load when playing HZD after 30min. Synthetic benchmarks: Unigine Heaven benchmark (Direct3D11; 1920x1080; 8xAA fullscreen; Ultra; Extreme tesselation) and got an ang fps of 178.6 (score:4495) Superposition (1080p extreme & 4K extreme): see attached Attached is is what GPU-Z shows when running Heaven. Also attached is a screencap of the stats you see mid benchmark for superposition. From what it looks like, the GPU is boosting properly and is being utilized properly but is being power limited heavily - i.e., PerfCap Pwr is achieved at only ~60-65% TDP. Such a problem would explain the lower performance and abnormally low temp. No overclocking is done but I have tried to put it on "OC mode" in TweakII" but that only increases the max power consumption that is reached, which max sense, but still PerfCap Pwr is being read at ~65-67% TDP. Also, another odd thing that GPU-z shows is that the fan speed is at 53% but also reads 0 RPM. IDK what to think of that. The fans are definitely on, even at idle temps. Solutions that I've tried: (1) Clean install of Windows (2) Revert back to previous driver. (2) Check for loose PCIe cables (2 separate cables instead of daisy chained cable) (2) Remove and put back GPU incase of problems. So far, no luck. Since my knowledge about computers is very limited, I am not sure how to approach this potential problem (if there is one), and I was hoping someone here could help me out. For those more knowledgeable than I am, how can I fix it so that I can get the most out of my system (and hard-earned money). P.S. I've only recently contacted (i.e., yseterday) NZXT about this problem but no response yet.

Hey need help with this... just got the 13900k and after updating the bios, intel me and drivers everything up to the newest, the bios detects the cpu and the ram etc. but when try to load windows gives me that error, I needed to put the 12700k back to be able to boot I've bee in contact with intel support, the store where I got the cpu and asus... so far I've got replies so discouraging as "that cpu is not compatible with your motherboard" or "did you managed to get video out?" they intel guy even asked me if "the issue" was related with an i5/i7/i9... all of this after giving the model and pictures etc... I'm so tired already any hint what could be happening?

I posted this on Reddit but no one is helping me I used my computer two nights ago and everything seemed to be fine. I did not use it yesterday and I did not notice anything today when I woke up and used my PC for a bit. I walked into my room and I smelled a weird plastic smell and heard a buzzing noise from my UPS(Uninterruptable Power Supply), the sort of buzzing I hear from it after turning it on and off. I clicked the display button on it and everything seemed to be okay. I then turned my PC on and got an American Megatrends message saying "CPU Overvoltage error! Press F1 to enter SETUP" I suspected the UPS so I turned it off and plugged my PC straight into the surge board but I still get the same message. The UPS felt warm but I don't know if this is normal since I don't usually touch my UPS. I have reset the CMOS and still get the same message. I managed to get into BIOS and my CPU voltage was at 3.8v and my +3.3v was reading 4volts! My multimeter says my CMOS battery is at 3volts so I don't think that's the issue. My uneducated guess is that either the UPS stopped working properly and sent a surge to my PSU, even though my PC was off. My other theory is the PSU got fried and drew too much power, causing my UPS to overwork and emit buzzing noises and a weird smell. It could be the motherboard too, I don't know. I don't overclock or anything like that, the only thing I have done is DOCP my RAM which has never caused an issue. My motherboard is an ASUS TUF X570 WiFi CPU is Ryzen 5 3600 PSU is Corsair CX450M Please help me! Update: Replaced PSU with Bequiet! Straight power 11 750w, Still get the same message. In bios I am noticing the 12v rail and 5v rail are overvoltaged too. When I unplug the PSU I noticed the motherboard RGB light stays on for around 18 seconds. So I guess my motherboard is faulty? It makes sense I guess, considering my motherboard temperature sensor has always been broken and read -128degrees celcius. I tried updating the BIOS to the latest version too and that didn't help with the voltage problem. I looked once more in the BIOS and the voltages are fluctuating, they are either undervoltaged or overvoltaged. But the 3.3v rail remains overvoltaged at 4.080v. What is happening!???!?!

Hi Everyone, After taking a break from gaming for 18 months, I’ve decided to get back into it just before my country went into the nationwide lock down. But this time, due to lack of time to source the parts I needed and for the sake of experiment, I went with a Gaming Laptop instead of building a rig. I got myself an Asus TUF FX505DU which came with GTX1660 ti GPU. I must say, I am quiet impressed with its performance and value for money I got for it. Given that it is a budget gaming laptop, it only comes with a single HDMI 2.0 port. I still have my old ASUS 27” 144 Hz monitor from 2012. Though it is still doing “Okay”, I feel it is time to upgrade the monitor to an Ultra-wide curve monitor. And I have been looking at AOC CU34G2X 34” QHD VA monitor. Again, bangs for your bucks and very review I’ve seen so far has been very good. So my question is as thus: will my laptop with GTX1660 ti and HDMI 2.0 supports 3440x1440 resolution which this monitor comes with by default? If not, does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative? Thank in you all in advance for any comments.

Hi there, I just received my new Asus Tuf vg27wq monitor... By default it was set to 60 hz and i tried to set it to the 165 hz it claims. It blackscreens for like 10 seconds then turns on again and it's back to 60 hz again. I've tried to install new nvidia drivers. It didn't help unfortunately. Any ideas?? I am using displayport dw!

Hi, Any TUF A15 owners out there? I have an option to buy Asus TUF A15 FA506IV-HN194. It is 4800H/RTX 2060/1TB HDD/512 SSD/2x8GB RAM/48W battery. What are your thoughts? Is screen bas as they say? If I don't care about that so much, would you recommend it? Would you recommend it even with display? Price is pretty low, since i7-9750H/RTX 2060 option is about 400+$ more expensive. Even i7-9750H/RTX 1660Ti is more expensive (about 200$).

I got this game "Wolfenstein 2 : The New Colossus". I have a Gaming Laptop which i recently purchased - Asus Tuf FX505DT It has a Ryzen 5 3550H with Vega 8 Integrated Graphics and a GTX 1650 dedicated GPU. Whenever I try to run this game i get this error "Could not write crash dump". I google this error and i find tons of solutions. In my research to fix this error, one YouTube video said to disable my Integrated Graphics. My Laptop's display worked through the Integrated GPU so I ignored it thinking i couldn't disable it. I could Fuck up and didn't wanna take any risks. 2 Weeks passed and I couldn't find a solution. So i gave up on playing this game. After a month I decided to try again. Here's what I did: Connected my laptop to a TV through HDMI. Disabled my Integrated Vega 8. Since i was connected to a TV, the display was running through the Dedicated GTX 1650. I clicked Play, and it WORKED. So now the obvious reason it wasnt working was because of the Integrated GPU. So yeah the game runs through TV via HDMI. But I wanna play it through the laptop's display. I took the risk and disabled Integrated Graphics while on Laptop's Display. Surprisingly the display still worked using Dedicated Graphics. But when i try to run the game, it runs on 4FPS i.e it still uses Integrated GPU but doesn't give the error. So the thing is I AM FED UP. PLEASE HELP ME RUN THIS PROPERLY. Sorry for the long ass description im just so annoyed!!

Hello there, I have the new Asus gaming laptop (FX505DU) It has the following specs: - Ryzen 7 3750h - Single Channel 16Gb 2666Mhz Ram - GTX 1660ti - 512Gb SSD - 1080p 120hz panel I am having problems in all games where the CPU usage is just all over the place, it causes constant lag spikes as the games become unplayable, E.g. GTA V running at 15-20 FPS but going up to 60 fps sometimes and constant spikes and buildings disappearing sometimes as I turn the camera fast and look towards them I have tried a couple of things to fix this problem like reinstalling windows and updating the GPU drivers but I still have no luck... I have also tried: - Disabling anti virus - Stopping All programs I dont need open - Done the DDU process Here are some the FPS counts in the GTA V benchmark (I am using redux as well) at 720p very high settings Link: https://youtu.be/ktmTI96TJUI This whole entire benchmark the CPU was at 100% (Except in the loading sections) and the GPU was at around 30-50% Usage The V-sync is at half but I get the exact same framerates with it off I have seen a review on this laptop and they get way better and when I mean way better I mean waaaaaaay better framerates than me on this exact same laptop with the same specs and everything. Games that require little amounts of CPU run like a dream. Now CPU Temps... Thats all... Any suggestions on a fix?

Okay, so i need some questions to be answered here... I just got a R9 3900X and a Asus TUF gaming X570-plus, i had a 16gb ram kit from my 7700K and Z270 (im upgrading the ram to either 32gb corsair vengance or 32gb trident Z, but still want answers on this). The ram is Crucial Ballistix Tactical 3000mhz CL15 ram, on my Z270 Tomahwak arctic and 7700K i could EASILY OC the ram to 3466mhz, it was 100% stable. So why cant i OC to more than 3066mhz without safe mode screens, windows crashes, BIOS bugsETC on the X570? Doesnt Ryzen like OC`ing as much as intel? Is D.O.C.P or whatever it is worse than intel XMP? Or is the Asus X570 board just really bad? Thanks for answers.

Has anyone accomplished this? Successfully? Success meaning running at 3600 with stock timings and little configuration? If so please provide ram Name/ Part Number. Really appreciate input from those who were brave enough... "to go where no man has gone before" - Old enough to be OG Star Trek! Background and why?My X470 board smoked and took ram with it... So I only started this process due to the smoked mobo. I was going to, and still will, replace the 2700X in a year or two with 3950 or whatever makes sense then. But I'd rather not have to replace the ram then also. Before the ducks start quacking... I'm very familiar with the QVL's of both mobo and CPU, or should I say all 4 QVL's - ASUS & AMD both have 2 - 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen QVL's for the X570 chipset. One of the points regarding QVL's that seems to get lost in the forums is that QVL's are fluid... especially while the product line has barely stopped teething... So I would consider something off of the QVL if it worked plug & play AND runs at specification or very close. AND NO they wouldn't already necessarily have it on the QVL list already - they can only test X amount of memory. Optimally someone will present a RAM Kit meeting the criteria that is on both ASUS and AMD QVL list for 3rd Gen.Your time and consideration is greatly appreciated.Don - The SOlidwire

Hello! I'm buying a gaming PC from a prebuilt site and they dont have a lot of options so a clear answer without any other recommandation would be really appreciated! Also might add that I'm not planning on overclocking. There are 3 boards to choose from that are around the same price : MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX / MSI B450 Gaming Plus / Asus TUF B450-Plus Gaming I was going to pair it with a Ryzen 5 3600x, Rx 5700 and 2x8gb of 3200mhz RAM. Which board should I choose? Is there any huge difference between the 3? Any help would be really appreciated since I'm pretty clueless about all this PC stuff

I'm using asus tuf fx504gm laptop with gtx 1060 6gb. When doing an open gl test it seems to be underperforming. The clock speed doesn't reach 1690 in oc mode (asus gpu tweak) but reaches only around 1400 even when gaming.. Where are things going wrong?

I'm using an Asus fx504gm laptop. As its "gaming" it's battery doesn't last much.. So can I use laptop while charging for gaming browsing etc? Without damaging it in long run.?
