Hello everyone! I just bought the latest Anker 737 PowerBank (24k/140W) and when I connected it (using the cable it came with, capable of 140W) to my Asus ROG Strix G713QM-ES94 to the USB-C PD port (in the back), it just goes to 9 W and stops, and goes up to 9 W and stops (PC (Armoury Crate) shows a notification that it is charging, and stops, charging and stops), in an infinte loop... I did use the old cable from the previous Anker power bank (26800 PD 45w) I had and it goes up to ~58.5w sustained. Both cables are Anker, they came with their respective power banks. I don't have another PD device capable of 100W or more, but when I charge the power bank with the 140W cable, it charges at around ~89W (using an Anker GaNPrime 120W, capable of 100W in total on any of the 2 USB-C)... I have no idea if I have a driver issue, or what is going on... I did try connecting the computer to the GaNPrime 120W charger and it worked perfectly fine (no idea at what rate it is being charged at). I did also return the power bank for a new one; Anker and I thinking it could be defective, but the same thing happened. I also tried using the old power bank with the new cable and it did work out of the box (of course it is slow but I did not have this weird loop). I also tried connecting the power bank when the notebook is off and it charges at ~30W but goes down to 0w (same loop, just delivers more power). What can I do? Is this a driver issue? (everything is up-to-date, using Windows 11) I have tried uninstalling the "battery" driver that shows up on windows (also by recommendation of ASUS on one of theirs FAQ pages) but still the same issue... Thanks anyone for any insights!

Hii I'm using asus rog strix g512li.. My CPU frequency is stuck at 788Mhz, I have no overheating issues with my laptop and apart from that I have actually cleaned it again but sadly I am not seeing any change. My laptop is mostly on turbo mode but the CPU frequency is just 788Mhz..it doesn't increase a bit until I restart it 2-3 times for few seconds. Is there any solution for this

Hi there! I'm currently running: Intel Core i9 11900K ASUS TUF Gaming Z590 Plus 32GB DDR4 Kingston Fury 3600MT/s CL16 Renegade Black (2x16) Gigabyte Radeon RX 6700XT 12GB Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black (single fan) The rest of the components are irrelevant at this point. For a small side-job I did for a certain hardware supplier, I was given: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X ASUS ROG STRIX B550-XE Gaming WiFi (I don't need WiFi) Noctua NH-D15 (original "coffee&mustard", dual fan) To which, after consulting ASUS' officially supported memory list and my local vendor availability I also bought 32GB DDR4 G-Skill TridentZ 3600MT/s CL17 (2x16) That machine still remains a bunch of boxes on top of my desk. ;) I intend to keep one of these computers to myself, while I also promised to give the other one to my wife... and that seems a tough decision to make. I am a programmer and systems administrator. Vast majority of my computer's uptime is Linux; often launching multiple VMs, developing and compiling software (those extra cores of AMD would probably be useful for `make -jX`), etc. I also do boot into Windows every now and then to play some games... and here's a problem I'll explain in a bit) My wife on the other hand is a graphic and web designer. Her uptime is solely Windows 10 and her workflow is mostly Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, XD. She's a gamer as well. Now, as I tried to google around in comparison of those 2 CPUs, they seem to perform very similarly in single-threaded workloads (with a bit of advantage towards Intel), and obviously in multi-threaded workloads AMD crushes the scores massively. Then when I tried to look for gaming performance I only found one relevant video in which again those CPUs performed close to identical (with a few average fps advantage on either of the sides), EXCEPT Red Dead Redemption II and GTA5, where AMD got butt-kicked by whooping 20fps+, and as it happens to be, Rockstar titles are the only ones I actually play... With my current Intel setup I run RDR2 Online at 2560x1600 (30" 16:10 60Hz monitor) with most settings at "ultra"; and that gives me stable 60fps, except some rare situations (crowded town at night during the rain; one or two ill-optimized locations). 1. If I chose to switch to AMD build (while keeping the above mentioned GPU) - would my RDR frames truly drop any noticably? 2. Would my wife's workflow benefit more from the AMD or the Intel build? I cannot find any credible comparisons again. 3. Should I put the dual fan variant of NH-D15 on Intel? Which one will truly run hotter? (build "design" doesn't matter; we're oldschool and both run non-glass, non-rgb cases that just sit under the desk) Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Hi everyone. I have a ROG G531GT laptop. Today I received a new SSD I bought to change the 512GB Micron drive for a Crucial P3 1TB. After changing it, I couldn't get it to the BIOS. It got stuck with the logo. I've tried updating BIOS, disabling Fastboot and secure boot, and anything I could try. I know the drive isn't faulty because my desktop recognized it, and the drive slot isn't busted because it boots with the ld SSD and a WD 750 500GB SSD. I've read that the Crucial P3 uses NVME 1.4 while both the Micron and the WD use NVME 1.3. I think this is far from baing the actual problem, but who knows at this point. I'm lost and out of ideas to try. Any suggestions? TIA

I'm planning to repaste my laptop (specs below) as it runs a little too hot for my liking. Running at 90C and above even at idle. However I'm unsure of what to do on a particular aspect of the process. From videos and images (also below) my laptop uses thermal paste on components around the CPU and GPU. I've got a pretty good grasp of applying CPU and GPU thermal paste so that isn't an issue for me. To the point, for the components around both chips would it be sensible to replace the paste with a suitable thermal pad? If not what thermal paste would be appropriate for those components? Laptop Specs: ASUS ROG Zephryus M GA502DU Ryzen 7 3750H GTX 1660 TI Max-Q 16GB RAM

Hi! I've decided to share a size comparison between the Strix variants of the 3080 and the 1080Ti since I was really blown away when I was able to actually get a grasp on the 3080. It looks big even inside my case, which I thought remarkable due its size, the C700P is quite big. The official dimensions from the Asus website are: 3080 12.53 " x 5.51 " x 2.27 " Inch 31.85 x 14.01 x 5.78 Centimeter 1080 Ti 11.73 " x 5.28 " x 2.07 " Inch 29.8 x 13.4 x 5.25 Centimeter

I’m having a hard time deciding between the MSI MEG X570 GODLIKE and the ASUS ROG X570 CROSSHAIR VIII EXTREME. I’ll be running with an R9 5950x and an RTX 3090. I actually already have the Godlike, however Asus just released this new rog board and it seems similar in comparison with a few things I like that the godlike doesn’t have. Overall which would be the better board? links to both MSI: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MEG-X570-GODLIKE.html ASUS: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-viii-extreme-model/ thanks

SPECS: Asus ROG M15, Intel Core i7-10750H, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q 8GB GDDR6 lately (few months now)whenever I’m in a game (whether just on menu screen or actually playing ) the CPU temps are at a constant 93-96C on turbo or even performance mode sometimes (in any game, even something as old as cod black ops 2).I tried undervolting the CPU (from BIOS, voltage configuration set to 79 ) and GPU, and it certainly improved performance (shadow of the tomb raider benchmark was 69 FPS at high settings, now it is 98 FPS) ,but still, depending on the game, CPU temps are either 84-96C (Overwatch) (it used to be at a constant 93-95C, so i gus it helped a little) or 93-95C (shadow of the tomb raider, cod cold war, and even black ops 2)(sometimes I even see 97-100C for a sec) . So undervolting certainly did do something ,but it is not enough. What more can I do to reduce the CPU temp? GPU temp is perfectly fine, between 64-75 on turbo. here is what i did or tried to do: as mentioned before, i undervolted to 79 . I already got my laptop’s fans cleaned at a computer store to see if that was the problem but nothing changed, so that shouldn’t be the problem. even with chrome, opera GX (more than 40 tabs total), battlenet, and discord open, CPU usage is between 5-12%, mostly at 5, so there shouldn't be anything running that background that is using the CPU (RAM use is 9 GB tho). i have switch game cases underneath the laptop (in corners where there are no fans or vents, see picture) to raise it a little from the table's surface to allow for airflow (been doing this before this problem). i saw something about limiting the amount of power the CPU gets or something like that (im not the best guy when it comes to computers ,so i don't know what exactly is being limited),it was something in control panel, power options, then changing the minimum processor state from 100% to something less. unfortunately this option does not appear for me, so it is out of the question. one last thing, I don't know much about this stuff, but is it possible that i am getting a wrong read on the temps? I'm saying this cuz even tho both MSI after burner and asus's armoury crate say that CPU temp is 95C, the laptop itself is not that hot, i remember when i first got it that sometimes it so hot that even the keyboard is getting a little hot, now it is way less hot (as in when i touch the laptop with my hands) than what i remember it being at some point (i could be completely wrong tho).

I built a PC last night. Components are as follows: NZXT H510 ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Ryzen 9 5900x iCue H100i elite Capellix EVGA RTX 3060 dual Full Modular RM850x 80+Gold This is the issue I am having. This is the first build I’ve ever done and I am stuck AF. The Q-LED indicator lights on the MOBO indicate I have a problem with the DRAM. The 1st set of DRAM I bought was a Vengeance RGB Pro SL 32GB 3600MHz C18 1.35v. Couldn’t get the machine to boot. It never changed the light on the Q-led from DRAM. So I went and bought a new set: Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200mhz C16 1.35V Ver. 4.32 which is listed on my QVL for the specific MOBO. Still same issue with the QLED lights. Idk what I’m doing. I don’t know what to change. I don’t know what I need to look at or test. I’ve tried 1 stick. 2 sticks. I’ve changed slots. I’ve jumped CLRTC. Taken out the battery in the MOBO and reinstalled. Idk. I’m lost. ANY HELP IS AWESOME. IM WILLING TO TRY ANYTHING ONCE

Budget (including currency): I don't have a planned budget, since I will buy parts separately over time as I find some good sales, but it's definetely not high-end, although it's above average Country: Brazil Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Basically any game, but I am a huge computer enthusiast, so I'm flexing a little Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi LTT Fans, I recently decided to start updating my PC Hardware, I used to have a Asrock H110M-HG4, Intel I5-7500, Galax 1050ti Exoc, XFX XT600 PSU and a stock cooler, 16GB RAM (I use different DIMMS so just ignore RAM), a 120GB and a 240GB Kingston SSDs and a 1TB HD Seagate Barracuda, all inside a Corsair Carbide Spec-03 if I recall corectly. Obviously I have no intention to buy a graphics card right now, so I began with the MoBo and CPU, to which I bought a Asus Strix B450-F II (I know a B550 would've been better, but I couldn't find many for a good price and for what I read pcie Gen4 is not a huge deal yet) and a Ryzen 7 3800X, which I think is pretty satisfying, even though there are way better CPUs available. Later I also bought a Corsair 570X, a case I particularly found very beautiful, especially compared to my prior one. I also intend to switch the RAM for 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 RGB and get a M.2 storage, what you guys think? I paid 2099 BRL for the 3800X (aprox. 375 USD), 1299 BRL for the B450-F (aprox. 230 USD, also w/ taxes) and 1400 BRL for the 570X (aprox. 250 USD) All these values were converted with todays cotation from BRL to USD (7.83) and they include taxes, which are considerably high here in Brazil. What do you think about my build? Any suggestion on how I could further upgrade it? I attached some photos of its evolution. The rear fans are currently off bc the fan hub I had was cheap and got poor contact, but I already ordered a new one. I'm also experimenting the GPU on the second 16x slot, only for aesthetic purposes (according to the MoBo manual it should be fine)

Linus did a video recently (I forget the title) where he ran at least 4 instances of a game. Similar to multiple gamers 1 CPU. The specs of the machine he used were similar to mine. If somebody can respond with the video URL for the video I'm looking for, I can learn what software he used to partition windows operations, and have a LAN party with my friends using my main gaming PC. Thanks. CPU: Intel core i9 11900k. RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (DDR4-3600 128gb) GPU: Asus ROG Strix OC Geforce RTX 3090. Those are the important specs, nothing else is relevant to the inquiry I'm writing but I will provide the full specs if asked. I might even re-create it in PCPartPicker. The game I'm interested in running on four 60Hz/1080p displays at the lowest playable graphic settings is Call of Duty: Black ops Cold War - Zombies. I.took advantage of a Battle.net summer sale and bought the game 3 more times on 3 different accounts. 100011900_MyVideo.mp4

Hi! The Asus ROG Zephyrus M has a stock "thermal paste" on the VRMs. By replacing the paste on the CPU + GPU I cleaned the one on the VRMs too and applied normal MX-4 on them but I'm afraid it's not the best thing to do. I would like to put normal thermal pads (Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad) on them but i don't know the correct thickness: 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm. Does someone knows the best one? Thanks! EDIT: Bought the Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad 8 - 100 × 100 × 1,5 mm (8 W/m K). I should get it in a few weeks.

Hello everybody, I've been looking for the perfect laptop for me for a few days now. I came across the Dell XPS 15 and the Asus ROG G14. I want to use my laptop both at home and in School. I want to program with my Laptop in different areas and I'm not going to play games often. I need a good keyboard and trackpad. Also I don't like much noise and heat. I would be very happy to receive recommandations. btw. I would also like to use Linux (Manjaro (Arch based)) kind regards SHA256 Links: - https://www.dell.com/de-de/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/xps-15-7590-laptop/bn79012 - https://www.saturn.de/de/product/_asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-ga401-anime™-matrix-2647512.html

I noticed, that the "turbo profile" in Armoury Crate undervolts my laptop CPU by -40mV. I would like to go a little bit further than that. Where can I find these settings on my C:\ drive and what do I need to edit them? Might the standard editor do the job if I would be able to locate the file(s)? Edit: I do not want to deinstall Armoury Crate and use XTU or ThrottleStop instead.

Im trying to OC my Asus ROG Strix 1080, but im only getting it up tp 1987Mhz (+100Mhz) stable. The temprature is oround 65C. When i try to push it any further i get artifacting in Heaven and Firestrike. I have given it 120% power limit and also tried giving it +100 millivolts to the core, but nothing helps with the artifacting. It is only i Heaven Benchmark and Firestrike. It does not crash and/or artifact in games. When i give it +100 millivolts to the core it boosts up to 2012 but goes back down after the GPU reaches 64C even tho i set "target temp" to 92C. Is this normal? I was sure i could push it further than this.

As someone with somewhat wide knowledge about computer hardware and software, this is something I don't really understand, and something I hope someone here on LTT has the answer which might solve my problem. Alright so I have an Asus ROG gaming laptop (GL552VW) with an i7 6700HQ. I'm aware that the temperature mentioned in the title is not a big deal, especielly for a laptop cpu, and most of the time I don't reach much higher than that. There are some exceptions (peaking at 90C in The Division and a few other games). What's really confusing here is really that in a few titles, I get this insanely high temp although the game doesn't really require much performance. Today I checked the cpu load and it was 11% when the temperature was at 80C which is, well, weird. Considering I've played games using well over 50% cpu usage and having a lower temperature. Hold on, it gets more confusing. I've even tried with having Turbo activated and deactivated (stock speed is at 2.6GHz and 3.5GHz in Turbo) and there is barely any difference in temperature. I also tried changing cpu affinity, only allowing games to use 2 cores, did the performance drop? Quite a bit, did the temperature? Maximum of 4C degrees drop. I'm confused and disappointed, and as much as I like my laptop, it's sad having this issue with heat. Maybe I should've chosen the cheaper version with an i5 6300HQ, because frankly, in what universe would an i5 be the bottleneck in a PC with a 960m? If it's of anyones interest, I use HWMonitor to view my temperatures.
