First Astro's got them for Christmas, opened them, got the software & updates. When I switched them on they produced a pretty audible static noise, that simply does not go away. So I have literally spent 6h+ doing everything to solve the problem, from cleaning/changing USB ports to switching off the wifi to testing them with every PC in the house. I consulted the Reddit forum r/pcmasterrace and got 40 comments of troubleshooting. Unfortunately I had already tried everything they said, so the only problem could be the headphones themselves, so I returned them (I had bought them from Amazon because I'm a stingy dumbass), and ordered a new pair from PcComponentes (the Spanish equivalent of Newegg). So they just arrive, I plug them in to charge, open the command center to make sure it's all up to date). Switch them on and boom, the static noise is still there, same as ever. I am so incredibly despaired to solve this darn static noise, just as on the Reddit post, I will award the user who manages to find the solution 1x Reddit gold. (Please somebody help, you can't see this thru the post but I'm currently on my knees hoping that somebody find the solution) Link to the reddit post I made:

Yo. Just wondering if anyone knows any good alternatives for the A50s, I love the sound I get from them and want something very close if not better. I was looking at the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless but read a review from someone who owned both that the Arctis doesn't have the same all around your sounds that the A50s have, so they are out of the question. I'll be using them on my PC, PS5 and Switch using a USB Sharing Switch.

I'm not sure how to properly explain my situation so I'm gonna do the best I can so please bare with me. So my current setup is I have 2 pcs and a mic connected to a mixer ( Yamaha Mg10XU ) which feeds out to a pair of speakers and my headphones, I'm currently using a pair of wireless artic 7s but its plug into the mixer via the wire, my microphone comes out the mixer via the fx send which goes into a splitter that runs into both pcs through the line in, this is so I have a mic that I can have my stream hear, discord, and it can be used for in game chat on the gaming pc. With everything setup like this it works perfectly I can hear both pc and there is no side tone so I don't hear myself when I talk just the audio from both the computers and its crystal clear. With that being said I recently purchased a new pair of Astro A50s with the base station for PlayStation (Not sure if the console matters) but I just wanted to get a new pair since my other headsets were starting to feel old. My first issue was I needed to figure out how I was going to connect the headset into the mixer while keeping the wireless capabilities of the headsets I didn't want to be connected to a wire anymore. The Astro a50 base station needs to be connected to my pc for power and to get audio. Since I didn't want the audio to come from just the one pc it was connected to I used the Mixers output and plugged it into the Aux port on the Astro Base station. Well that worked I was able to hear everything form the mixer, the issue came when I noticed there was ALOT of static and for some reason I was getting like a side tone effect. I did some research and figured I needed to buy a ground loop isolator to get rid of the static. Once it Came in I plugged it in and it worked no more static, but that side tone effect was still there I was able to hear everything from my microphone like the Gain was turned up a lot ( The gain on the mixer is off) Now the current issue at hand is how do I get rid of that effect I tried messing around with how the cabling is routed but nothing seems to work any work around I think I find seems to make the problem worse or end up making some crazy echo. I am definitely keeping these headsets cause in the end if I cant fix the issue ill deal with the problem but I would LOVE if I could not hear myself . if I didn't explain anything properly just let me know and ill try better to explain it I know this is a jumbled mess, just if you know anything I can do please help me out and I can show pictures if necessary

So I am having issues getting the firmware update on my Astro A50 gen 3. While I wait for a solution I was thinking I could use wired headphones and a Antlion Modmic Wireless. i did some research and found that the Modmic Wireless would not work with the Xbox one X. I could not find any information about the Series X. Have any of you guys tried this combination? I’ll give it a try myself, but wondering if anyone has some insights into weather or not this would work. -T

I recently received my Xbox Series X and wanted to use my Astro A50's. Now the new Xbox does not have SPDIF, so I need to upgrade the firmware on the Astro for them to work via USB. I am currently on 24327.42 (headset) and 24246.42 (basestation). Astro Command Centre (1.0.216) is showing me that there is a firmware update available but when i try to update the Astro's seem to get stuck on bootloader. It starts but immediately get stuck on "step 1". Has anyone successfully upgraded to the new firmware? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Update: I have tried to update the firmware on four different computers and no luck. Still hangs on bootloader. Guess I’ll have to wait for an update to ACC from Astro. - T

Hi all, I am currently looking into buying a new headset and replace my G933 which didn't aged well and i'm now having many issue with it. So i was looking back and my previous headset that i had, which was an Astro A50 gen 1, which i replace because of some aging issue too. Even though i had issue in the end(after a couple of years) i still really liked them. Since they upgraded them since my last buy, i was wondering if anyone would review the newer version of the headset and most notably how well the newer gen age. My main use is for the PC, but any review is welcome.

I recently purchased a pair of 3rd generation Astro A50s and find the audio to have far too much bass causing it to muffle the audio. I had this problem previously with my Astro a40s but I was able to fix using the equaliser in my sound card software (sound blaster z), however on the a50s I can not use my sound card as the base station only supports USB. I have tried to persevere with the Astro command centre software but the equaliser in this seems to make very little if any adjustment to the headsets audio. I was just wondering if there is anyway I could use the headset with my sound card still or if anyone can give some insight into the software. If not I'm a bit stuck as I doubt the store I bought them from will take a return in the grounds that it has too much bass. Also I don't claim to know much at all about audio, that's why I've come here, so I'll just apologise in advance for any incorrect terminology I've used. Thanks in advance!

I am looking to buy a wireless headset and am considering the Logitech G933, Steelseries Siberia 800, Astro A40 headset + mix amp, and Astro A50 wireless + base station. I’m mainly interested in these as all of them can work with multiple devices for audio and chat (possible at once) without having to do any changes to the setup. So, I game on an Xbox as well as PC, but while I'm using my Xbox there are times when I want to be able to hear audio from my PC while still being able to have audio from my Xbox (reduced for certain queues) and Xbox chat. I had a chance to use the G933s for about two weeks and I really liked them though I had some issues with my setup and I'm not sure if I was using them wrong or they just weren't designed for what I was using them for. The G933 managed the first two perfectly, but for some reason whenever I tried to use Xbox chat, the volume at which people heard me made it seem like I was whispering. I’ve looked into these headsets and haven't really found anyone that has had experience with a similar setup/use case.

Hi guys. So as the title says I've recently come into a strange issue where when I am playing a game my headset just stops producing sound after a few minutes together with this, websites like Youtube, Netflix, etc stop working and for instance on YouTube the video goes into an infinite loading icon screen. I have tried everything from reinstalling drivers, to uninstalling the device, setting it as a primary sound device etc, but nothing seems to be working. Can anyone help me because this is pretty much my last resort... My headset is an Astro A50 with base station Playstation/PC Edition

Hi Linus. Can you help me? I went to post on an old threat about your A50 but it said to post a new one as was quite old. I bought the Astro A50 yesterday and I know they need Dolby Digial Live 7.1 to work. I have an ASUS Maximum Hero IX Z270 board which doesn't have this, just the on board Supreme FX chip. How do I get this to work - or do I have to buy a separate sound card for this and if so, what would you recommend just so I can take advantage of the A50 7.1 / best possible sound? As pictured, the supreme FX doesn't recognise the A50 whether plugged in via USB or optical. The sonic studio 3 does show it and I can get audio, but its just going to be the stereo and not the DDL 7.1 Thank you

TL;DR - A50's sound frequently cuts out and comes back within a few seconds, requiring me to restart programs for audio to work again. Hey guys, I'm not sure if Astro headsets are renowned for this issue, it could be a universal problem. Basically, I've been having an issue where every now and then (ranging from every few minutes to half an hour or longer), the sound coming from my A50's will completely cut out, stay silent for a few seconds, and then slowly reconnect to the transmitter. When this happens, it seems to interfere with Windows, any any program that has audio playing from it will screw up. Video playback (YouTube, Netflix, Vessel, VLC) will crash, and require me to restart them, which can be annoying if I don't know how far into the video I was. Games playing sound will remain functional after cutting out, but I need to restart the game if I want the audio back, which obviously sucks if it happens in the middle of a game. Skype will basically be rendered useless, and will also require me to restart it if I want to hear people again. Things I have tried: - Switching the micro USB cable connecting the mixamp to the PC (I've tried 6, so that's not the problem). - Updating audio drivers - Checked for new firmware for the headset and the mixamp (up to date) - Restarting the audio service in services.msc - Switching which USB port it is connected to on my PC (I have tried USB 2.0 and 3.0 with no difference) I really can't think of anything else. I've had this headset for almost exactly a year, and haven't had any other issues with them. If anyone has any suggestions or solutions, please respond, it would really help me out. Thanks guys

Hello! So i recently bought the Astro A50 halo edt. I am not sure about the 7.1 surround though. I have plugged the USB power to the pc from AMP Tried with AUX and I feel that it sounds worst. Much more volum in the USB than the AUX. Do I need to buy a soundcard or is everything how it is suppose to be? You have probably already realized, but I am not very good with this -Thanks for respons

Okay so I've had the Astro A50 since Christmas and I've loved almost everything about it but there are little problems with it that are so annoying that made me literally take the headset out, put it in its box and put it on ebay. when i go on Skype i have to restart the actual headset (because its wireless of course) and the actual Mixamp to be able to get the mice to work, it is very annoying and when ever i start a new convo it happens again. i've tried using different programs like team speak and razer comms but it still doesnt work, recently it won't connect the headset or the am unless i unplug the Mixamp and plug it back in. restarting the headset while im in a game causing the sound of the game to disappear and i'd have to restart the game to get the sound back. Is there anyone else with this issue and is there any solutions to it? because I'm getting really frustrated with this headset. thanks!

Hey all, So I recently acquired my Astro A50's but I ran into an issue. Or rather, I ran into a question which I can't seem to answer myself. I was always convinced that my 7.1 sound was working just fine. But turning on- and off the Dolby button did nothing, which made me wonder. So I started googling and found out that I'd need a sound card with DDL support to get the full 7.1 surround sound this headset could offer me. Seeing as my Mobo doesn't have an optical input of itself. Now, I already wanted to get myself a separate audio card anyway, and now I have an excuse to justify the purchase. The question, however, is: Which one should I get? I've been going around for a bit, and can only find reasonably outdated posts, so I turn to the helpful people of LTT and hope that you guys can shed some light on the options I have. The only requirement I have is that it's DDL compliant and is certified for 7.1. The rest? Not so much. I just want a good one to experience the full sound capabilities.
