The latest major patch for Assassin's Creed Unity will free players from the need to connect the console or PC game to the game's companion app or Initiates website to unlock some special items in the game. From a statement on the company's website: When Unity launched in November, players had needed to connect to the iOS/Android/(Update: and Windows Phone!) companion app to unlock certain treasure chests that would get them better rewards in the game, including more in-game money and some special outfits for the game's lead character, Arno. Ubisoft had also locked some chests and outfits behind requirements tied to the franchise's Initiates website. But the app and the site never worked as well as intended, with players—and this reviewer—regularly having problems getting either to sync correctly with the game. Since last fall, some players have complained about Ubisoft locking content form its console and PC game from people who didn't want or couldn't even get the Companion App. Not every Xbox, PlayStation or PC gamer has an Android, iOS or Windows Phone device, after all. Without using the app or Initiates website, Unity players would find themselves walking through a virtual Paris littered with treasure chests they couldn't open. That problem was somewhat alleviated the day before Christmas, when Ubisoft took the Initiates site down for maintenance and unlocked all the in-game treasure chests tied to that site. Update, 1:05pm: It looks like most of the outfits are now all associated with specific Initiates chests, which are themselves all unlocked, according to Ubisoft. I haven't had a chance to test this, but it seems that players will just need to find the right chest. Here's a screencap of one of the new requirements; compare that to the old one, as shown in the shot atop this post: The game's Altair Master Assassin outfit, previously tied to the companion app, can now be obtained by playing Unity's Helix Rifts missions, according to an updated in-game display. The patch is available now for Xbox One and PS4 today, coming to PC tomorrow I'd love to test this only the game fcking asks me to download 13 GB updates every time in install my OS , even if copy paste the entire folder of a full updated game when you open the uplay it starts downloading 13 GB update again

Hi, I know that Ubisoft really scrub it out with AC Unity and that they also have released a huge patch to fix the game, however now there is a steam sale and the game is into a affordable price for me now. I searched if this patch really fixed the game but I didn't find nothing, can someone tell me if now the games runs without any problems into a very smooth way? I´m only going to get it if it does. Everything was working fine , until i updated tot the new WHQL driver by Nvidia, the new driver changes the aspect ratio of Unity to a phone size screen in borderless, but if i set it to full screen it's back to normal , but in borderless it breaks aspect ratio , am i the only one ?

So what seemed like a good-will gesture from Ubisoft relating to AC:U Season Pass purchasers, in which they get a free Ubisoft game, has actually turned into a sneaky "cover our butts as much as possible" ploy by Ubi. In their terms of agreement when you go to download this free game, there is a line in which you waive your ability to ever sue Ubisoft or receive compensation for poor game releases. "You hereby irrevocably and unconditionally RELEASE, WAIVE, AND FOREVER DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE Ubisoft Entertainment S.A.," Horribly dirty play from Ubisoft. Hi, I recently received a nvidia code with my GTX 970 in which I can use to redeem the crew, far cry 4, or assassin's creed unity. I'm not sure which one to pick... I've heard that AC5 is really fun but glitchy, and far cry 4 has bad fps drops. And I also don't like racing games... Any suggestions? Thanks

So, I have come to terms with the fact that I had no idea what I was doing when I built my gaming rig and now its time to toss out my GTX 760 and upgrade. But I am at a loss of what to get. I am interested in the GTX 970 and the 780 (non ti) for their similar price points. The two newest games that I play the most right now are Assassin's Creed Unity and Dragon Age: Inquisition. As much as I didn't want to admit it, my card cannot run these games at Ultra settings. In fact, in Assassin's Creed it's hard to remain stable at any settings other than medium @ 60htz. Boo! I have a monitor capable of 144htz and I want pretty games!!! So I need some help. I can see the paper differences with the 780 and the 970, but I want to know: when these cards are put the test with my two favorites and other new graphic intense games which stands out? Which is better for me? Better yet, if you have suggestions for a $250-$375 graphics card that can stand up to the torture I'll be putting it through let me know. I'm open to any suggestions, but would like to stick with NVidia because of the PhysX. Also, I may be restricted on certain cards because my PSU is 600W. Here's the rest of my spec just in case: MOBO: GA-H77N-wifi RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance @1333 CPU: Intel Core i5 3570k PSU: SX-600G GPU: MSI GTX 760 Gaming OC Edition 4GB GDDR5 (maybe it's defective??) In an interview with Alex Amancio, creative director of the game, he said the following: Alex also said that all the non game-related elements will be in french. Most parts of the game are in french except the game-related elements. These are in "perfect" english. I'm not sure what to think of it.
