So as the title suggest I am currently looking for a new phone and I am torn between those 3. The pixel and oneplus phones are already in the market and I can't really decide which one to choose. The pixel has better cameras but a smaller battery size, worse charging speed, only uses 1 nano and 1 esim (which is not really that known yet here in the Philippines) and I am not really sure if the tensor g2 even supports aptx. Meanwhile, the oneplus has worse camera but has a 100w charging albeit no wireless charging and supports 2 nano sim cards. The pixel is more expensive in my country but I have been seeing a lot issues and bugs about the oxygen os that was once one of the best android os. I am also considering waiting for the nothing phone 2 but I am not sure if it will be much more expensive than the phone 1 and there is still no release date yet. Which one do you guys think is the better buy or decision that I should make? Thank for the help!

I have a pair of wireless earbuds that have aptX (edifier TWS1). However I have come to realise you actually have to switch your phone's audio codec as well in order to take advantage of aptX (I was having connectivity issues with my buds and I was severely disappointed in the aptX branding before knowing this). I've found the setting in the developers option but my phone (Samsung A50) keeps reverting to SBC so how do I get my phone to stay/set aptX as the default codec or is that just not possible?

As of now in india sony 1000xm3s are available for Rs.24000 down from Rs.30000 should i buy them or should i wait for the xm4s to drop as they will have almost the same price as these?

Hello, please help me to turn on the aptx codec on my Sony xperia XA1 phone. According to the specs sheet, I should have this codec available on my phone and on my headphones (1more ibfree sport). However, it is connecting only with the SBC codec. I have tried to turn it on manually in the developer options. But it jumps back to SBC by itself. I will be very thankful for any kind of help.

Bluetooth version: 5.0 Audio codec support: atleast aptx Battery life: somewhere around 10 hours As of now I'm looking into Soundpeats q35hd Bluetooth version: 5 Audio codec support: aptx and aptxhd Battery life: company claims 14 hours I'm open to suggestions and feel free to suggest any earbuds south of 50 bucks. I'm looking for a USB adapter (for now only to connect my phone, but also headphones in the future) and I was wondering if all of them work with aptX? Nothing specifies it in the descriptions, so I'm assuming aptX is only a thing on devices like headphones, and the receiving end doesn't matter?

I have been researching about the technology and have found that I need CSR8675 bluetooth. I am not sure if parts like this exist internally for laptops as all I can find is external components. My laptop is the LG Gram 13 (2018). Thanks in advance!

Is anyone here using headsets through Intel Wireless Bluetooth? Found out you can install drivers (from Dell) which support the use of aptx. I am using Sony WH-1000XM2. I have not been using the aptx drivers. What kind of bluetooth codec is Windows using as standard? The bluetooth card which is being used is ASUS PCE-AC55BT. Thanks!

I got a Bluetooth headphones which doesn't support aptx codec. When I connect them to pc it gives me headphones or headset. I know duplex high bit communication is not possible. But I want to use only speaker and use my laptop mic. But moment I connect them to laptop I can't find my laptop microphone array. Please help me as I don't want push to talk in games

When I browse Amazon for bluetooth dongles, I come across many brands that claim that they support aptX while others say that they are plain BT transceivers? I was wondering what sets these two apart. If I assume that Bluetooth is just a wireless communication standard with certain protocols, just like WiFi, then why should an audio compression codec be associated with a bluetooth implementation at device level. All a WiFi router does is transmit data. Likewise, a BT device should just transmit data, and it should be upto the software at both ends (the transmitter side and the receiver side) that should interpret the data with a pre-agreed protocol. What am I missing here?

So I will put it here because this man named Linus is the one that put the brain fart in my skull... through my crappy wired headphones and got me thinking. Link to SuperUser post if it stays up... Trigger Warning: Jargon and nitty-gritty details ahead... tread slowly, but faster than 328kbit/sec ! According to new product listings which caught my eye, the manufacture-specific codec AptX which is now owned by CSR (bought up by Qualcomm) is using a method that is consider lossless, rather near-lossless. Can I use this right out of the box, If I were to purchase a pair of bluetooth headphones that say they use AptX capable, or is there more to it than just "buy it to hear lossless sound out of your phone?" I'm asking this because of all the complaints in the community about Apple Inc. getting rid of the 3.5mm audio input. Audiophiles will claim that it's better to stay wired, shielded, isolated, and noise-canceled. Yeah sure delivery is important, but isn't that delivery made possible by the hardware components which then begs the question of if the protocols implemented on that hardware can compete with current wired technology. From what I understand, under the A2DP Bluetooth profile, you are able to use certain codecs under SBC and optional codecs as outlined in the bluetooth specifications papers. It is limited to 2 channels stereo per A2DP service connection which is important to note. Now here is where it gets a bit confusing. AptX (formerly Apt-X) is also an optional supported codec under A2DP, but it has changed hands and seems like it has been rewritten many times, and now lastly owned by Qualcomm. It is now being promoted as lossless, rather as near-lossless, as outlined from wikipedia link in the question above. Just 2 years ago it was lossy with AAC as mentioned here. I am not sure whether it is hitting the bandwidth limitation of a single A2DP profile max 721kbit/s. But What can be said is that it may actually be maxed out depending on physical location of device compared to source location. The system-on-chip (SoC), CSR8645, which was developed by the AptX license holder to develop products with AptX support is capable of 2 A2DP connections of 96 kHz each, if I understand all the information correctly provided by CSR websites. This should mean that in Bluetooth 4.0, the new A2DP standard 1.3.1, and Qualcomm owning the codec could lead to implementation on all mobile devices, such as phones (as asked by so many on superuser) and wearables which use Qualcomm chips through firmware update since AptX is just an encoding method written in the programming. So is this better than standard lossy codecs which are computationally taxing on processors, well according to information provided on the specification thus far it points towards a higher quality sound, given physical position is optimal of source and sink (phone and headphones respectively), and if utilized/implemented on both ends as lossless. The other limitation is the actual file encoding which is getting improved, according to LinusTechTips (youtubeID:sPdJX_PJro0), by Apple on iTunes only. Apple claims to soon provide 24-bit 96kHz files playable through their services. If you have AptX capable headphones, assuming the lossless variant, and Apple pays Qualcomm to let them put it on the iphone only then can you get close to hearing high quality music at lossless encoding. This is better because current availability for lightning cable headphones is maxed at 48kHz. This would out perform the wired versions of current headphones for the iphone 7 (lightning cable ones), as of this writing (sept 23, 2016). But there are a lot of conditions that need to be just right in terms of hardware and software for this to work out in favor of getting that crisp higher than CD-quality lossless sound out of Bluetooth 4.0 headphones using a proprietary codec called AptX (AptX, AptX-live, AptX-lossless, AptX-low latency, etc...) Plus, as a kicker, this codec could save on battery as well. Now it has to be seen if Google will also follow suit and provide higher quality audio files, at least for offline playback, so that this supposed higher quality codec standard can be used to give me really great sound out of something wireless... Please correct me where I may have missed something. Also a nice, long, detailed, and pretty video about this would be much appreciated!

Hey guys, so I want to buy some headphones in the £150 region or less, it's also got to be Bluetooth as I'm just sick of wires and cables breaking too often. so I have some Henson headphones at the moment which are good but not great and and phone (HTC one m7) could be put to bbetter. so is there any headphones you recommend from personal use that are Bluetooth and over ear or on ear design thanks in advance and also my phone does have the aptx audio codec present.
