Yoyo, I have never built a home server before nor do I have experience in setting up one or what to look for. But I realized that I'm in need of one and need help to figure out how to go about deciding how build it. My requirements: File server -> workstations -> mostly development Private Cloud -> want to replace one drive with a more secure one. Application Server -> Running multiple production like web apps on the internet that interacts with my Hyperledger Fabric blockchain. Hyperledger fabric -> Running private blockchain with "fake orgs" which runs different nodes through docker containers. Hyperledger fabric Setup ->Multi orgs - {n} Nodes - Multi channel Setup - 3 orderer Node Home assistant -> Home automation NAS -> Cloud/Plex Plex server with 4k support Home server needs to support the RTX 4090 for Ethureum Mining. Until its paid off then I can play games. Limited Budget -> Secondhand parts where I can. One Cabinet/case/tower Not sure if I should go with 1 server or 2. Split the Home and public away from each other for more security. Any ideas would be helpful.

Hello, I am currently experiencing issues with certain applications running on my 4K monitor. I would like to set these apps to default to 1080p or 1440p resolution. I understand that this may result in a decrease in image quality, but it is a compromise I am willing to make. The specific issue I am facing is with the Teradici client, which I use to connect to my office system. When running on a 4K resolution, my internet connection between my home and office is quite slow. However, at 1080p resolution, it runs smoothly at 60fps. Can anyone provide assistance in resolving this issue? i found this solution on internet but i dont know how to use it https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/71143-how-can-i-change-resolution-specific-program.html#:~:text=Hi%2C you could,a quick idea

Greating kind people! I'm writing this from a little village called Gremyachie in a deapth of Russia. I stuck here for a week for a family business. Roosters sing, dogs bark and hobos moan under my window. Luckily i have old laptop (2.1Ghz Duo) and decent 4g connection with me and back home i've got 2600 ryzen + 1080ti combo turned on and ready to RENDER games with all it mighty. Last thing i managed to do before urgently left the house is set up google remote desktop and gladly it works but... I did awful mistake. I turned off the monitor. So now i can't lauch any 3d application remotly cause it's not how it SUDDENLY works. It's so boring here you can't even imagine. Youngest man in here is 65 y.o. and belive it or not i don't like vodka. Not so much at least. Is it an any way to trick a system by software manipulations to make render any 3d image so i could see it remotly? It plays youtube with a sound... So far i tried teamviewer/google desktop/pascal until realized the real issue. Plz help.

Ok, so I'll occasionally install malware, adware, ransomware, Trojans, worms, chargeware and all sorts of stuff on burner phones or old PCs that I don't care about, this time I chose to install adware on my personal phone to test how good my current cell providers Antivirus/antitheft partnership is. Unsurprisingly it's complete and total garbage, it's a program called lookout while it's antitheft and loss prevention is great and honestly over the top, it flagged my phone while it was at my house and in my hands.... Maybe it's not that great when I think about it but the point is it works, however the antivirus side is complete and utter garbage, I had it scan my phone and while scanning the adware actually made a pop up happen, when in game it's a 30second ad and when not in a game it's a browser pop up and it was quite aggressive as well sometimes popping up 5x in a span of 20 minutes, now keep in mind that was with their premium subscription to which is about 10$ a month or 80-120 a year. Then I installed bitdefender and activated the 14 day free trial not only did it find the adware I installed on purpose but it also removed every trace of it, i could not find a single remnant file or anything and I even hooked my phone up to my PC to really dive into it and yes I checked my SD card as well and it to was completely clean. So not only did lookout fail where another that I don't trust either worked, it also kept turning its own VPN on after I turned it off, I actually had to delete it's VPN off my phone to keep it turned off.

How can i change an apps name? Like not the apk's name, the apps name. For example you download an apk named "Instagram Lite" but when you install it, on the home screen it says "Lite" Well i want to change the "Lite" part. Not the "Instagram Lite" part if that makes sence.

I've a very basic knowledge about how websites are built and applications are developed. I want to create my own websites and applications. I've a quite few ideas laying around but where I live, dudes ask about as much as $3,000 for a basic website/app, plus the risk of idea getting sold out. A quick google search quickly bombarded me with wix for website and buildfire for apps on both platforms without coding and stuff. Since I'm completely getting mixed information whenever I try to search more about it. Like I want to do stuff myself, I can put a learning curve into it if I've to. I want to know any youtube video, any tutorials, blogs, forums, that could give me a complete idea for which service to choose for my website and app building. What is the process of publishing your app, basic stuff how you connect it with your site. I sound like a noob, because I'm one. I want to take the without code route for now, any help would be greatly admired.

Hey Everyone it's my first post on these forums so I'm not sure if this is the right place but hopefully it's fine. So I just finished college and am broke so I was looking into an alternative way to watch videos while playing video games without buying an extra monitor. My desk is too small for an extra one anyways. I was thinking how it would be cool if you could adjust any application to whatever transparency you want. I was thinking for games like league of legends or starcraft 2 where I tend to listen to a bunch of videos on YouTube in the background while I'm playing. It would be nice to just be able to glance over to the corner of the screen to watch the video while I'm dead or just running across the map. To my knowledge I couldn't find anything about how to make something that isn't a file window more or less transparent. There is also the problem of having a video as the top layer but also being able to click the application that is behind it for productivity purposes and such. I was originally thinking maybe I could make league of legends 50% transparent so that I can watch whatever movie I wanted to in the background or something along those lines. I wasn't able to find any software that accomplished this after a few google searches so I decided to come here and see if anyone had any ideas. I stumbled across a browser called "Glass Browser" that is surprisingly intuitive to use. Instead of making an application transparent it just makes whatever is in your browser transparent so that you can watch something while working on something else. So essentially I can watch youtube or netflix now overlayed on top of league of legends at whatever transparency I want, and if I click the map behind the video is still acts as if I am in the game. Just wanted to share that with anyone that might be interested as it could also be useful for people that are learning a new software and watch a tutorial video without having to constantly minimize the program you are working with to see whats going on. I think this functionality could be really useful for other windows applications so if anyone knows of another program that also accomplishes this please let me know.

Hi All! I am trying to get my corsair K95 to launch some of my steam games with my macros but if I don't have steam open then the game will not launch. I get an error message which pretty much tells me to launch steam. What I would like to ask is, is there a way for me to map my game to open and also simultaneously launch steam? If not then will I just have to launch steam first and then press my macro for the game? Thank you for your time and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Would anyone be interested in running Floatplane outside of their browser in a standalone desktop application? In the spirit of one of my favorite third party apps - gpmdp - I decided to start working on a desktop application myself, and have currently tested it on Windows and Linux. Before releasing it however, I would prefer to have it fully tested on Mac OS as well, and preferably blessed by Luke himself before releasing some half-assed software. I'm also curious what features you would like to see implemented. Let me know if you guys have any ideas or suggestions!

Hello everyone! ? I have a school project which requires me to design and create an innovative and useful app that eases peoples' lives in something(does not have to be tech related), for example, Google Pay helps simplify payment methods on an android device. Do you have any cool and innovative ideas of useful applications on the computer or smartphone that doesn't currently exist that you don't mind sharing? Please share it with me if you do ? Thanks! This is just for my school project and i will definitely not use it for any monetary purposes.

I recently upgraded from windows 7 to window 10 but I've encountered a pretty annoying issue: 3D applications become limited to 60 FPS if I mirror any of my displays to my 4K TV. How does Windows 10 handle displays compared to Windows 7 and is there a way to get my monitor to run 3D applications at a unlocked framerate? I think the main issue is that this cases a framerate cap but I don't have a underlying knowledge on how to remove the cap in this situation. There's gotta be some kind of windows 10 setting that causes this issue. I've disabled the frame caps and Vsync in Nvidia control panel and Nvidia inspector and can verify that if I set all displays to to either "extend desktop" or disabled, the frame cap disappeared. But when anything is mirrored this 60FPS cap returns. My monitors maintain their refresh rates (in windows settings) If I disable mirroring the frame cap goes away Monitor setup: Where: 1 is a 144Hz 1080p monitor (main) 2 & 3 are 60 Hz 1080p monitors, generic 4 is a 4K 60Hz Smart TV My setup: GTX 1070 GPU i7 4790K 4.0 Ghz 32 GB RAM 4 displays (including 1 TV for couch games) If there's any more information that I could provide to help let me know, I need suggestions though! thanks

My computer keeps freezing regularly after being on after a few hours. It's a brand new built PC with a 9700K overclocked to 4.7Ghz. When it starts to freeze up i open task manager to see that a process named "Windows Logon GUI Application" uses 80% and sometimes more of the CPU performance. Ill attach a photo of it. Can anyone explain what's happening and how to fix it? No idea why this would begin chewing away so much for no reason during pc use.

So I've just been researching water-cooling, and I am interested in the entire process. Although I won't be able to actually do anything for a few years, I like learning and dreaming. It's crossed my mind that I'd like to hypothetically plan out my runs, where the pump will go, and use different combinations of layouts, etc. However, drawing is too much effort for the hypothetical. I'd rather use a website like PC Part Picker to throw together hypotheticals. So my question is: Is there a website, application, or the like that will help plan out water-cooled builds? As in, picking a case, having those dimensions, dropping in a motherboard, blocks, pumps, and planning out tubing runs to really give you a guide into your future plans? I feel like this should definitely be a thing already in 2018. Am I just missing it?
