So recently (within the last 2-6 months, think it was about 3 or 4) I remember seeing a video hosted by Anthony and Linus checking out a Windows (11 i think) clone and raving about it's performance. There was some hiccups along the way as to be expected but they genuinely seemed impressed. At the current I don't have the money to upgrade my cpu as planned and windows although I recently reinstalled windows, it's already becoming a bit of a bloat and games that ran smooth when I first installed the cpu and now pegging the cpu at 100% and stutter is becoming a real issue. I've scrolled through both LTT and Short Circuit but can't seem to spot the video anywhere. Does anyone remember the title of the video and are able to link me to it? Or perhaps the name of the operating system? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance James

Hi guys, i`m Shane and i have a lot of problems with my build. This is a long story, full of inexcpected twists and studded with frustation, written as a last effort before i LITERALLY BURN MY COMPONENTS IN MY BACKYARD. It all started almost a year ago when on a the verge of a pandemic lockdown i decided to build my new PC.. here are the original specs: Ryzen 5 3600 stock cooler Sapphire Pulse RX580 8gb 2x8Gb of DDR4 Patriot viper steel 3200Mhz Be quiet! system Power 9 700w PSU B450 Aourus Elite rev1 Everithing bought from an italian online reseller (HW1.it) except for the GPU bought from amazon.it When i first assembled all the components i noticed that my pc suffered from random reboots and it was almost unusable, the win10 logs reported a kernel power error, so not a good start.. i reinstalled the operating system multiple times and i also used a dual boot manjaro system for a while, tried disabling XMP but nothing changed.. So i rma my card (amazon client service is awesome) and i got my money back. I bought an asus gtx 960 2gb cause i found it used at a really good and low price and installed it, the system now doesn`t crash but it was just the beginning. Now the fun part, i noticed some minor problems, mouse scattering, and wifi connection issues. The problem is that my wifi pcie card (ubit intel wifi 6 ax 200 with bluetooth) shows up and run but very slowly like 1mb/s dwnl and after some time it disconnects as if i removed it from the motherboard. Correct drivers are installed. So i thought that the adapter could be the problem and i bought a usb wifi adapter, installed it and got almost 60mb dnwl and 10ms ping, everything ok right? Well NO. The adapter keeps connecting and disconnetting from the system (like every 5 sec) till it doesn`t reconnect at all. Updated motherboard BIOS to F60ver with no changes. The solution to this problem is to use my old HTC phone in usb wifi thetering mode which results in a stable, fast and reliable connection. I tried the pcie wifi card and the usb adapter on one of my friends PC and there they work just fine. So the mistery deepend.... As a last effort i bought an ASUS B450 PLUS Prime motherboard, swapped all the components and got the same stupid behavior from the wifi peripherals, i`m going to return this board to amzn in order to get my money back but i really don`t know what to try now.. I can`t Rma the original parts to HW1.it cause they shut down and i have to deal with every single manufacturers.. The only components i can try to swap remain the CPU, PSU and Memory.. I think i am going to try a new PSU to see if it`s an eletric supply related problem cause the only difference i see from my wifi adapters and the Phone is that the latter has an internal batterry that can supply short outtages or bad psu power. I am literally begging for help, i need my pc for online University classes especially now that COVID is coming back strong here in italy. Please help with suggestions, i would really need an Anthony now A really frustrated and angry italian guy (but mostly frustrated).

ltt finding video where Anthony recites gnu+linux
myOneLTTacccount posted a topic in General Discussion
I believe there was a video where Anthony says a bit of the gnu+linux copypasta, the one that goes "I'd just like to interject for a moment, what you're referring to as Linux..." -

ShortCircuit's most recent video showcases the BOOX eInk tablet. In the description of the video are links to buy the tablet. I think viewers should be informed that BOOX actively violates Linux's GPL2 license by refusing to release their kernel source code. (sources below) They've been refusing for years. It's not only illegal but unethical. If you are unaware Linux is under the GPL2 license. To summaries one of the clauses in GPL2, if you use, distribute, or modify anything under GPL2 you must also supply the source code. These are the licenses that keep opensource software opensource. I think ShortCircuit is unaware of BOOX's violation. As a long time follower and consumer of Linus Media Groups content, I don't think they'd ever showcase a product like this without telling their audience something this important. I've tried to comment on Youtube but for some reason, the comment won't go through. I ask that people try to get this information to someone working at LinusMediaGroup so that a disclaimer can be added. I think it's unethical to showcase and help advertise a product that breaks what so many in Linus's audience believe in without adding a disclaimer, and I think Linus would agree with me. To be clear I'm not criticizing Linus, ShortCircuit, or the video about the product; only that important information the audience might want to know was missing from the video. Everyone should be given this information so that they may decide for themselves if they want to support such a company. As an alternative, ShortCircuit has done a review on a similar product here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0R0vu3Ti1w. Them not opening their distribution or custom software solutions isn't a GPL2 violation; but them not opening their modified Linux kernel is. A quote form a representative `However, kernel source code of Android could not be open for now. Welcome to develop apps by our SDK.`. This quote can be found in the first listed source.

Afternoon all, I’m hopeful that this is the right place to loom for information, but I’ve got a unique situation. I have re-engineered an analog stick cap for Xbox, PlayStation, and other controllers. Remember when you played the PS2 and your joysticks got sticky and a groove was carved into them by the controller housing ? My invention fixes that. My design splits the cap into two halves and places a radial bearing around the center shaft so that the bearing contacts the housing instead of plastic on plastic. No drag, low resistance, and smooth circumferential movement. I own the patent, and I am the sole interested party. I know the design works, I know there is interest, and it solves a unique problem, but I do not know what to do now. How do I move forward ? How do I market ? How do I bring my product to the market ? I’m great with design and engineering but I’m no good with product development. Can anyone point me in the right direction ? I’m willing to partner or create an agreement on sales volumes, I just don’t know where to start. reference patent number US 10,500,486 https://patents.google.com/patent/US10500486B2/en?oq=10500486

I was repasting my GPU (1660 super) and i removed my old thermal pads but would it be necessary putting in a new one?? I mean I don't do overclocking then also is it necessary for my vrams to have thermal pads on them ?? Or does it affect the cooling even in stock performances.

hey guys! I am having problem which developed lately , i own a Acer aspire 3 laptop with i3 8130U CPU in it and have been using it since 2018. Problem is, it has some how disabled the turbo boost on the CPU and there no way i can turn it back on. there is no thermal throttling, power plans are set to performance only (even the font looks like ****) , no tweaks or tinkering with softwares have i done which would have caused this issue, and the most mind bogling thing is there is NO OPTION available for it to enable in the BIOS , its just like Bios from 2000. i have updated every driver in the system even the chipsets, but there is no fruit to it. To get to the root of it , i installed Intel extreme tuning Utility to find out what the problem and VIOLA! here are the pics...... there it was disabled. How ever i found myself a weird solution which enables the turbo boost force fully but boost is disabled if i disabled it manually or shutdown my laptop and i have to enable the turbo boost after every boot up through a software called " QuickCPU" where i go into the advanced settings and enable it. i contacted Acer for this but they were just beating around the bush, before any of this happen laptop was running as a champ boosting to 3.4GHz in games and almost all the time staying at the same boost and when i ever used the android OS, i was also boosting to 3.4GHz but now i can hardly enable it in the windows 10 but there is not way to turbo boost on the Android OS only monitor the boost. now it does not even turbo boost in any task even it's 100% utilization it stays at 2.2GHz unless i use the tweak by QuickCPU. the temps are good due to decent thermal design. i am sorry for my English! i just want my laptop to turbo boost automatically like it used to do! please guys help! here are some more pics of that weird software hack! before and after (the EDP graph is only one turning yes or yellow)

So.... Seeing how far linux gaming has come in the past year i'w really really considered doing the switch from windows. I'w always used linux for everything else in my house but the lack of gaming support always made me go back to windows. I'w tried dual booting, but i always end up in windows in the end anyway... But here comes the point of the post, and if Anthony is up for it, a video on the subject would be great :-P Anyway... What if the next pc i buy isn't the main pc, what if its a "server" pc that hosts my games. it would get rith of the comparability layer issues and also make all the games available on any machine on the network. but how will it hold up? What would be the minimal needed hardware for the client? Will there be latency issues even on a 1gbit network? What is the pros and cons of streaming compared to a localy installed copy? I guess my gsync monitor looses it's purpose...

Um... I have an old MacBook Pro (5,1) (A1286), Intel C2Duo (2.66 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HDD, GeForce 9400M, 9600GT. Since MacOS got super slow, I installed Ubuntu and have been using it (owing to familiarity from my previous school's smartboard). I have been browsing for Linux distros, and really liked Elementary OS. But I have minimal experience in Linux distro installations... So, does it do driver installation automatically (like ubuntu?). Also, I read it's also debian based like Ubuntu, so all the Ubuntu terminal commands will work, right? (Y'know, like sudo apt install tuxpaint etc.) Please help! Tagging @GabenJr as I admire his work in Linux videos!

community help Zephyrus G14 Won't Charge
Supreme_Fonzie posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
A few months ago I bought a Zephyrus G14 from best buy. Everything was working well and then a month back it did something weird, it wouldn't charge or turn on. I spent a whole day trying to charge it. Two days later I plugged it in and it just started working. Unfortunately, mine seems to be doing the thing once again where it does not seem to charge. Does anyone know why this could be or if there is anything I can do to fix it? -
In the "10 Ways Linux is just better!" Linus talks about Anthony running into a guy at System76 who had a GitHub repo with a script which could install all the software you would need and download your user profile after installation. I couldn't find the link to it in the description, or the comments. Could any of you kindly link the repo in the comments? Thanks

Let me first start to say my English is not the best sorry about that. I just want to say that Anthony is the best person on the LMG staff. I just want to let him know that I appreciate him and all his network and Linux knowledge. He is very humble and has a lot of knowledge. He helped us with a great build guide and all the Linux videos. I just want him to know he is the best. I hope he is gone be more on camera if he wants to also I hope they are going to do some more Network videos. maybe he or someone can do how to hack video. maybe it can be fun. hacking is fun and easy to learn. Anthony if you are reading this I appreciate you very much.
