Hello Everyone, I'm trying to connect my windows 11 PC to my android smart TV with HDMI cable but TV doesn't displays PC. TV says "no signal". I connected laptop to TV (with the same HDMI) and TV displayed laptop's screen. I also connected PC to other monitor (same HDMI) and it displays my PC. How can I display PC on my TV?

I've been looking online for some device that can do these things: Stream platform like Disney+, Netflix, Amazon... Has USB ports Has an Ethernet Jack Stream using the Steam Link App at 1080p 60 fps, say 30-70 Mbit/s The obvious choice is the Nvidia Shield TV 4K but at $200 there has to be something cheaper available, and that's what I'm trying to find! I'm considering buying a device like this: https://www.amazon.com/4K-Ultra-HD-Android-Box/dp/B07NGKQB88/ref=sr_1_1?tag=at88-20&dchild=1&keywords=Ematic Jetstream&qid=1600753482&sr=8-1&geniuslink=true My biggest concern with this is whether the hardware is enough to run steam link smoothly. There seems to be practically no information or comparison among various devices and hardware schemes aside from the odd Reddit post saying "Nvidia shield works best." Does anyone know about this subject and how has your experience using Steam link on a dedicated Android TV stick/box been?

android tv Is there anyway NOT to connect in android tv
DC.MONZ posted a topic in Phones and Tablets
Its a bothersome to accidentally connect in android tv, and I don't own the tv so I can't use the google home app, because someone will try to connect. Is there anyway to completely disconnect and not able to see the icon screen cast or some sort, in my phone. I have already fixed it in my laptop but the way that I did cannot be applied in my phone so please help me. -
I am using mi tv 4a pro and connected my Dolby amplifier via digital coaxial cable from tv. When I use plex, it passes the audio through coaxial cable and I am getting Dolby 5.1 audio. But with apps like Netflix, I get only stereo audio. Mi website says this tv support dolby audio but I can't see 5.1 symbol in Netflix. I have a laptop however my amplifier doesn't have hdmi. Is there any way I can get 5.1 output from my tv from Netflix?

Hi, I stumble across this very powerful Android TV alternatives, it can be capable of others since it can load other Linux OSes. Has anyone got their hands on this yet? Or can Linus team do a review on this? I cannot find this on Aliexpress unfortunately, and the only website I can buy from is their official? Not sure if that is legit. http://www.mekotronics.com/h-pd-54.html#_pp=104_370 Youtube video that I come across:

Hi all, Is there a way to have a synched experience (or close to it) between phone and TV for YouTube? The closest setup right now would be to cast YouTube from my phone to TV. But I don't want to use my phone as the main playback device. I would like to use the TV's YouTube app, and then when I play a video on it, see video and playback info (and Ideally playback options) mirrored on the phone, for example. Any ideas? Thanks!

I have a SONY BRAVIA XBR55x850d Android TV. I am trying to stream form a Synology NAS 916+. I have tried who things that do not work. First the native video/audio apps are not connecting to it. Second I would like to use the VLC app to stream audio/video. But I am not sure how to get it to connect to the server. I have contacted VLC support multiple times with no response and I cannot find any documentation to walk through the process. Advice?

I found out that my TV, a Sony Bravia X800D, is compatible with both GFXBench, and 3DMark. Here's how it did: GFXBench Car Chase: 1.5 FPS Manhattan 3.1: 2.8 FPS Manhattan: 4.6 FPS T-Rex: 9.7 FPS Textures: 678 MTexels/sec 3DMark Slingshot ES3.1 (1440p): <1 FPS. I'm surprised it even had non stuttering audio. Slingshot ES3.0 (1080p): ~300 (<3 FPS) So I guess this is about as good as my phone from four years ago.

I recently picked up a 49" Sony Bravia X800D, the lowest end model that has 4K UHD and HDR. So I'm not going to put down any objective measurements on the display's performance, mostly because I don't have the equipment to do so, but if you want to know that much http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x800d is a good place to start. I just see the floor models and go "okay, it looks good enough to me." But since the display is what matters most in a TV, I'll give some of my opinions on it: The brightness is pleasant enough, even in a dark room. Most of the time I do use my TV though I keep my room as dark as possible. Unless it's night and I don't want to be a vampire and so I have a 800 lumen light on. But otherwise I'm fight with it. The colors can be really rich and that's after playing around with the picture settings. But that doesn't bother me that much. I happen to notice the reds are really deep for some reason. 4K content looks amazing of course. 1080p upscaled looks great as well. If you're wondering where to get 4K demo videos: http://kodi.wiki/view/Samples HDR content also looks great, and I almost swear that the HDR content is just brighter than the non HDR content, but maybe it's just better contrast ratios in play. If I'm not here to gush over the display and such, what am I here to gush over? The user experience. One thing that I did pick up on but didn't really care about during my research for a new TV was that this is an Android TV... TV. I figured it was going to be like some of the other smart TV OSes like Samsung's Smart Hub and LG's WebOS. Since I can't sort my thoughts into paragraph form, here's a bullet list of them: Setup was similar to any other Android device, you start with language, network, and Google account login. The interface itself is grid based with more room in the horizontal axis. I'm sure once you have enough apps, it creates a new row. The only thing I'm "eh" about but I haven't bothered to get around to it is that the home screen pulls up dozens of "recommended" stuff that I usually don't care for. Downloaded apps are sorted into two categories: games and not games. The most you can do organizational wise is rearrange the tiles. Oh yeah! The TV is compatible with a bunch of Android games. Notably Final Fantasy (but not Dimensions for some reason...) You have to use a controller to play them but the TV is compatible with Bluetooth controllers and Dual Shock 4. This is something that had me gushing (I can finally play said Final Fantasy games "properly"!) Pairing a Dual Shock 4 also lets me control the TV with it. Inputs show up on their own row. If you have devices with HDMI CEC, they'll also show up as their own tile. Strangely it ID'd my Roku 2 as a Roku 3. When I select either my PS3 or PS4, if they're off, the TV turns them on. The other thing is that I can use the TV's remote control as a media remote for either console. If the Dual Shock 4 was used to power on the PS4 (I haven't tested with the PS3), then it can control the PS4 like normal. Although the pairing doesn't go from the TV to the PS4, so you lose the touch pad, share, and options buttons (which you know, are important to have). I have my sound system hooked up through the ARC HDMI port, and for some reason the TV always turns it on. Not that I mind, speakers on TVs suck anyway. Turning the TV off is more like putting an Android device to sleep. Depending on what you were doing earlier, it'll resume where you left off. And now some quirks that might be annoying for some: For some reason I couldn't connect the TV to the internet via Ethernet. It was on the network fine, but not the Internet. If you plug in a USB drive for videos, it will scan the entire drive for videos before putting them up on the video player app. I'm not sure why the video apps use some kind of file explorer mode and scan only which directory you're in. The remote control sensor is on the bottom near the light bar. This wouldn't be a problem if my sound bar didn't cover it. Not all streaming apps available on Android are available for Android TV, including some that I use on the Roku 2, so I guess it'll stick around for a while. Android TV can't connect to a Bluetooth speaker of any sort. There goes my dreams of using my Bluetooth headset. It seems to have odd hardware supports for different codecs. I have a collection of anime that plays terribly on the TV (MX Player is the only one that can play them remotely alright) but for some reason it plays the 60FPS 4K HDR video I have just fine. The interface can be a bit laggy at times. My recommendation? If you're invested in the Sony and Android ecosystem, this is a good TV for the price ($800 USD) to have. I really like that all of my devices play nice with each other and I can control a good bit of them with one remote. Also the TV has analog video support, whereas TVs in this price range are increasingly not having it for some reason.

Good evening, everyone! I'll be buying a 43" 4K SmartTV within the next week and as such, I've been doing some research to make sure I get the best product within my budget, which is 500€ ($596). From all the televisions available to me, the two that stood out the most were the Philips 43PUS6162 and the LG 43UJ630V. Here's the reasons why: - Both are 4K, obviously - Both carry HDR technology - Both carry IPS displays - Both bring 3x HDMI/2x USB slots - Both run at 60Hz Now the reasons why I'm indecisive are: - While both carry HDR, LG's the standard HDR10 whereas Philips' is HDR10+. I did some research on both and it appeared to me that HDR10+ is the better one as it was created to rival Dolby Vision. I would however appreciate some input on this so I can know for sure what this technology consists of and if it is worth it. - The LG includes 4K Upscaling, whereas the Philips does not. However, as mentioned above, Philips brings HDR10+ and LG brings HDR10. Is it a worthy tradeoff? Is it a noticeable and good-looking difference? I tried watching some YouTube videos showing it off but it's not very perceptible. - According to my research, the Philips audio system supports Clear Sound, whereas the LG supports Ultra Surround. Is there much of a difference? Is it noticeable? - While being a minor thing, the Philips seems to support a wide variety of image formats, including PNG and GIF, where as the LG only supports JPEG, MPO and JPS. Does this mean there is no way whatsoever to open, say, PNG files on the LG? Can it become annoying in some situations? - Finally, the operative system. The Philips seems to be running AndroidTV, the LG runs WebOS 3.5. I did some research on both and realized AndroidTV is alot more future proof and focuses a bit more on gaming and a few other interesting apps by giving you access to Google Play. The fact that you can also connect your Smartphone to the TV to stream videos and music from, is also a pretty appealing idea. It seems to have a collection of 4K movies ready to watch too. The only downside is that the interface covers the whole screen, hiding whatever is playing on TV at that moment, which isn't the biggest deal to me. The WebOS 3.5 seems to have a very user-friendly and fast interface that doesn't cover the whole screen and thus not hiding the content. It appeared to have some games too but I got the impression it doesn't focus on that side as much as AndroidTV. It also seems to have a nice collection of 4K movies ready to watch and some interesting settings. However, it felt like it didn't include some of the interesting features AndroidTV offers. This is one of the websites I used to compare the two: https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/comparison/1cb31d827 Here are a few more details about the two TVs (included in the link above) With that said, at the moment, I'm more inclined towards getting the Philips TV but I still want to make sure I'm well informed before proceeding with the purchase. The price of both TVs isn't a hindrance seeing as they're just 10€ apart, making the aforementioned points my only concern. Thank you for your time!

Hi, Just want some feed back on what would be the most ideal streaming app, for direct streaming/playback without transcoding. Kodi or Plex? Im using a Sony Kdl55w800c with android tv. Cheers.

I have a Mi Box I use with a 27" Monitor to watch stuff. I don't have internet connection in where I'm staying. Don't even have WiFi there Current setup: Every weekend I go to my sister's and download the stuff I'll be watching. I then put it in an external hard drive. I just plug it on my Mi Box and access the stuff using Kodi Plan: I want to setup 2 Mi Boxes connected to a media server wirelessly. Hopefully without streaming problems. I already have the following i5-7500 PC (in my sig) which I'll be using to download vids and manage the server. a salvaged 2.5" internal HD and tons of external hard drives with varying capacities (500G, 1T, 2T) Questions: What's the cheapest way I can go about this? Cheap Option1: Gigabit connection from PC-Router then setup the PC share the files through the network. Maybe using FTP or whatever works. Power consumption might be a problem Cheap Option2: Buy a router USB port and just plug an eHD and set it up as a NAS using router settings. Most of the routers I found have USB 2.0. Do you think this might throttle the streams to the MiBoxes? Most of my files are 1080p HD with 5.1 audio. So far the largest I've got is a 12GB BluRay rip. Would it stream properly through WiFi? What considerations should I check when buying a router? I understand 5GHz AC is a must,

Hi, I just want some tips when starting up a plex server. First one, video encoding. Should i use h265 codecs, dts or ac3 audio and mkv or mp4? Second, what are best settings for android tv plex app? Third, how to prevent unnecessary trancoding of compatable formats that can be direct played. Cheers.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if you guys could point me towards the best TV Streaming Box with an Android interface. I'm currently using a 55" Sony X9300D 4K HDR TV. I watch a lot of content on streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as YouTube and YouTube TV. I also stream content from my PLEX server. But the extremely laggy android interface of this particular TV is incredibly irritating to deal with. So, I was planning on upgrading to a device that's capable of streaming content through the above mentioned services in both 4K and HDR (Doesn't have to be Dolby Vision since my TV doesn't support it). Cheers!

ok so, I was watching something on Netflix and my shield rebooted, I know this is a known issue but it doesn't bother me since it usually does it at midnight for me. anyways, when it was starting up I noticed that the android logo was small... like smaller than usual. when it finished the entire UI was small: oh great... so I ADB ed into the thing and set the density to 610: oh yay it's partly fixed, a reboot should fix the app icon issues! it didn't, in fact it reset my density back to 320 and I got the exact same issue again a Google search came up with nothing and I'm left with this... it's a god damn 4k screen, I can't read anything! I set it to 1080 and it does fix it but I watch 4k content regularly both on Netflix (which wasn't affected by this issue) and Plex (which does get affected by this issue) please help it's a Monday and I am like Garfield when it comes to Monday's...

Even setting 'Ultrasmooth motion' option to 'smooth' doesn't deliver what a true 4k60 video can. Moreover, 8k (downscaled to 4k) and 4k videos appear jittery at times (most towards the sides of the screen while panning shots) with a noticeable but very subtle flickering on screen. Anyone else experience the same issues? Any solutions??

Hi, I got my tv the day before yesterday and the installation is due in about an hour from the writing of this. I'm having a hard time finding a Live TV app that I can sideload, like IPTV for android phones, where I can watch major channels like BeIN Sports USA 1 & 2, CNN, Al Jazeera, Discovery Networks, Nat Geo, and my regional Indian channels? Is there any app like Terrarium where movies/tv shows streaming from cloud is supported? Also tell me some other cool apps to enjoy on an Android TV. Thanks in advance.

new to this part of the forums so i don't know the way it goes... anyways, i'm thinking about getting a Android TV for my media consumption namely Netflix, Stan, Plex, Crunchyroll, Anime Lab and Fetch TV. those are the services that i am going to use.... thing is though that i have to use an Android TV for all of them as some don't have support for other devices (also i hate switching from one device to another) namely Crunchyroll and Anime Lab as they don't have support for Samsung TVs or other proprietary platforms other than Android TV.... but the fetch TV app doesn't officially support Android TV. i have found a forum post on the overclockers forum saying it works (https://forums.overclockers.com.au/threads/android-tv-fetch-tv-app-win.1220697/) but both and app and Android TV has gone though some changes since the post was created... i just want to know if you guys have has success with it with more modern versions of android TV and the app, is there any problems and have you solved them and if so how? i just don't want to add another device just for Crunchyroll and Anime Lab as that will just make my problem worse instead of solving it also another question not related to this subject, has anyone gotten a optical disk drive working? so you can watch movies you haven't ripped on your Android TV, i can't find any evidence online that people have gotten this working even though there are apps on the play store that say they can do this... thanks!

So I've been looking for a streaming box for my 4k tv because its a cheap tv, and the UI is clunky and the youtube app often cant handle the 4k content.( and I cant get get Hulu on it). Theres a myriad of cheap Android TV boxes on amazon and Ebay, but they all seem really sketchy. Roku seems like the best option but I would prefer the flexibility of accessing android apps. That being said could I just get a chromebox and put Android on it somehow? This is the chromebox I am looking at at the moment. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-CHROMEBOX2-G095U-Chrome-Computer-Memory/dp/B077XZNH1S/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1529080244&sr=8-3&keywords=google+chromebox
