Sorry everyone I am not a technical person, just posting what worked for me after trying tons of common troubleshooting. Apparently this app is a key functionality component in Android for other apps to work like Chrome, Gmail, and non Google apps to function or be allowed to update in the Play Store. And has a history of causing issues with other apps because of this version or previous version of the app itself & with Android 10 and previous versions of Android like android 8. After trying this it work for me on a new phone that came out in January (2021) plus a friends Samsung phone running Andriod 8. Not saying this the answer for everyone just something to consider, I am not a tech expert. Long Story short. Figured out a solution that works for me and my new phone (2021) and passing this information so that it may help others Since Google can't and doesn't monitor the app. Update: Was ask to provide a little more information. Again keeping it short don't want to write a book on this or the history of the issue. For some time Android users have been having issues with apps or apps updating and this is because of Android System Webview. So if anyone is having issues updating Google Chrome, or any other app, or Android System WebView in the Google Play Store this was my solution. This was done on Android 10 and could be use to solve it on Android 10 and previous versions of Android. Again worked for me but may not work for everyone. Latest Update (3/17/2021): A new update for this app showed up. Again it wouldn't let me update it. I tried all the other apps first and they updated. Then before having to try this annoying process again I tried to update it and it did. I don't know what's going on but after doing this solution if you get an update for Android System WebView you have to update all the other apps first before it will allow you to update it. Solution / Fix This is a lot of work but it will have the device working better faster than ever. Follow step by step. Solution: 1) Go to system settings, then apps, click to see all apps. 2) Click on Android Systems WebView then click the 3 dots & hit uninstall updates. Then clear its cache & then clear data. 3) Next, go back to apps list click the 3 dots then choose show systems apps. Foot Note: On different devices the names will have different variations but it is something like Download or System Download and the other app is going to be called Download Manager or Systems Download Manager every device is going to be a different variation of the name. 4) But for both these apps you're going to have clear its cache & then clear the data. Next and this is key follow in this order exact. 5) In system settings under apps and viewing all listed. Go to Google Play Store click on the 3 dots and uninstall updates, then clear its cache & then clear data. 6) Next go to Google Play Services click on the 3 dots and uninstall updates, then clear its cache & then clear data. 7) Key thing to do immediately restart the phone or device. 8) Once the phone or device is rebooted wait like 3 minutes so Google Play Store can load. 9) Very important to do Google Chrome first in the Play Store, I don't know why. Open up Google Play Store and in the search bar type Google Chrome. Click on Google Chrome and click update and wait to fully finish updating. 10) Next exit out and in the search bar type Android Systems WebView. Do not go to the Beta or Dev versions of it. Click on the plain regular one. Once inside click update and wait to fully finish updating. Then exit out. This is what worked for me, may not for everyone but now in your apps you will see they have been updated and actually work better & faster than ever before.

Hi, I have a Lenovo M8 tablet running Android 10. When I first got it I plugged in a micro sd card and set it to be used as internal storage, so around 130gb of the 'system' is now sitting on it, along with various apps. I suspect this 130gb is not Android as it would never have fitted into the tablet's rather weedy 32gb internal storage so it must be mostly apps and their data, however there is also apparently 6.3 gb of 'apps', so I am somewhat confused. In any case I would like to replace that current 256gb card with a larger one, prob 512gb, but cannot find any information about how to unmount the current one safely, nor how to move the 'system' whatever it is onto the new card. In particular I do not have an 'unmount' option in the settings when I select the external sd. I have found that it appears that sd cards used in Android as internal storage are formatted in a way that a windows based p'sc cannot read them - so simply turning the tablet off and plugging the sd card into a pc to copy the data from the old to new card is unlikely to work(?). So in short how do I replace the current SD card with a larger one without Android complaining? Thanks in advance.

I've always used an android phone with a SDCard (previously a Nokia 5 running Android 9, never experienced any big issues) and recently I switched to a Redmi Note 8T, and every time I restart, soft reboot, shutdown or update my phone it corrupts my SDCard, I've tried multiple tricks including converting the partition style between GPT/MBR, formating in NTFS/exfat and it still would break I tried cleaning up the /Android folder and it still happened (I always ejected before restart) I'm looking for a solution and the reason of this I also wanted to know if this is Android or MIUI related and if anyone has experienced this? And if it is and Software or Hardware issue Please help!

So my LG G8 recently updated to Android 10. Kind of annoying to one day open up your phone to find the operating system has been completely redesigned. One strange thing that I'm noticing is that websites and 3rd party online app distribitors whose content used to download perfectly fine now get automatically converted to .bin files. I have heard that this had been a bug with Google Chrome in earlier versions of Android, however it seems strange to reintroduce such a commonly known issue in a new Version. So it's either a returning bug, or a more conspiratorial idea, Google is trying to lock down their OS to ensure users are dependent on them for content. Now for more tech savvy users, this is easy to get around. If you know what type of file it was before downloading it, simply enter the file Explorer and replace .bin with the proper extension. However I'd like to know if there's any way to fix this problem more directly, either by downloading a 3rd party download manager, or changing something in the system settings.

Hello Everyone, A few days ago I've swapped my other Android Phone for a used Pixel 2 (64GB) with Andoird 10 and installed the latest Updates (Android 10, Build Number QQ2A.200405.005) Security Patches (5. April 2020) and Google Play-Systemupdate (1. March 2020). Today I've figured out that Google (Account via Browser) had all my contacts, which was odd as I've always kept an focus on sharing as least as possible data to protect privacy. So I went to System > Accounts and made sure that automatic sysc is disabled and tried to disable sync for System > Accounts > my.google.account > Account sync > Contacts which provides no option to disable it anymore. It seems that they have removed or moved it. After looking through the entire Android Settings I've discovered under Settings > Google > Account Services > Contacts sync two Options - Automatically sync Google contacts and Back up & sync device contacts - to disable. Currently I'm testing if this will stop syncing my contacts to Google. There is also an stackexchange discussion regarding this. I would be interested if anyone else had a similar issue like me? Was this publicly announced and were you guys aware of that? Is there any reason to move this option which I do not get? All the best, JB

Kind of a crappy question. How do I get my DS4 controller to work properly on android 10? It's not input lag, it's actually "sticking" like you would let go of the joystick but the camera is still moving, and it's also unresponsive. I have a motorola one action with the first build of android 10 rooted and I hope someone has a fix because rolling back to android 9 is a huge hassle. I've already tried Bluetooth Auto Connect without success.

Looks like in addition to cutting back on the desert theme they are cutting back on quite a few open vulnerabilities as well with the latest OS, Android 10. I'm personally not surprised there are a lot of fixes going in but nearly 200 open vulnerabilities is a heck of a lot. Hopefully most or all of these, or at least the more severe ones, will be fixed with OTA patches to older versions of the OS such as Android 8 and 9 (Oreo and Pie respectively) since I'm sure most users won't be seeing Android 10 for a good while after it's release in September. So when I updated my phone to Android 10 on accident I was dealing with the glitch where every app except for the system apps (like messages, contacts but not including Chrome, Chrome was having infinite loading screen). I'm currently running a Verizon Pixel 2 XL. I tried reverting back to Android 9 but I couldn't because the OEM was locked tried to unlock it with FastBoot and ADB was getting tired since it was 2am. So I tried a Factory reset to at least try and unlock the OEM but what I then realized that all of my apps worked again (I didn't have a backup of all of my files because I didn't care and I wanted to see what happened). I didn't have a infinite loading screens on apps like Snapchat, Instagram, Twitch, and even Chrome. I hope this helps in some sort of way I'm a new user first post so please feedback would be much appreciated. But let me know if it worked of any of you.

This is the Android 10 update schedule as shown in the picture. This was sent out to users of Samsung's Members app Source: Samsung Members App My device: Samsung galaxy A50 My thoughts: I am not familiar with Samsung's update schedule but the general consensus is that Samsung is improving. The one thing that confuses me the most is that the A30 (a considerably lower tier phone) is getting the update before the A50 (a higher tier compared to the A30). I'm mostly interested in the dark mode, fast pair and these One UI 2 animations.

How in the name of all that is holy can I change the accent colours? This rainbow diarrhea that is my phone is getting on my bloody nerves! Also on my 6t I could use my power button to open the camera with a double tap? Can I do that on my find x2 Pro? It makes me long for simple times of my Xperia xa.

Ive not had the screen lock password on for about a year. I want to enable the finger print sensor as I figured im wearing the button every time i check the time. No idea what the 6 digit number password is even tho I would of made it 123456. Any ideas please? Phone is Honor 8X Android Version 10

So I'm trying to find out what Android os system apps that are safe to disable and will improve system performance and reduce hardware strain. Ive already disabled a few things that I'll list here. Animal Resource (misspelled in the system) I have no idea what this does. Myfaceavatar 1,2, and 3 My guess is it has something to do with that animoji thing. I don't use itb so i dont need it. Android Q easter egg Also dont know what it does Facebook system apps I think I saw a major reduction in CPU overheating by disabling these apps. If you have an android phone and see temperatures in excess of 150 F/60 C, try disabling these apps and see what happens. I tried installing the Microg suite of apps, however android 10 detects them as updates to existing apps, and since android doesnt allow installation of updates from sources alternate to where you got the original app (found that out with some Google Play apps and Nightly builds of some emulators. Download those directly from their websites if you want the latest version) Microg refuses to install. If theres a system app that i can disable to turn of this protection, please tell me.
