So i was reading the forums when i saw comments from very respectable members ( not wanting to put anyone on the spot ) calming that the Seasonic focus is not a good fit for Ampere GPUs since those have strict transits response requirements which the Seasonic focus is known to have a sub par transits response. Is this true ? Would you recommend Seasonic Focus line to high end Ampere builds or you'd buy something els ?

Hello, I was looking to make a purchase for 3070 but i am concerned if the 8gb GDDR6 memory will be enough for the best 5-6 years or not for just 1080p gaming. Not going to upgrade to 1440p for sure. Can anyone help me with this query? Thanks.

I saw some rumours about a 'Titan RTX' card for the Ampere architecture being released in Q1 of 2021. Is there any truth to this?

Leaves plenty of room for a 3060 non-Ti @ 2070 Super performance for $300-ish price point. There seems to be some instances though of AIB cards being slightly overpriced than expected, but we will have to see if that actually pans out (often inflated prices are shown frequently before launch from retailers). Sadly, however, the Ethereum performance being good may prove to make the card quite unavailable (and unobtainable), also considering another circulating story regarding NV Ampere sales to crypto miners. Lastly, the AoTS scores make the 3060 Ti look seriously promising (Geekbench too), but we'll have to see some independent benchmarks/results from reviewers before we start saying it performs like or near an RTX 2080 Ti. Launch is supposedly occurring Wed, December 2nd, so in three days we'll hopefully have all the deets.

So I upgraded mi pc back in September, everything but the gpu (1060 6gb). I was expecting to buy a new gpu, but for obvious I couldn't. I bought a new monitor (1440p 144hz) but the 1060 isn't good enough. I am hearing there won't be good availability of ampere and rdna2 until q1 2021. In my country this is uncertain, could even be more time. So would it be reasonable to buy a rdna or Turing gpu, in the meantime?

I've asked on so many sites and no one ever answers. I'm honestly really confused about this. Variable Refresh Rate was one of the new big things that is standard with HDMI2.1. It is even on some HDMI2.0 devices. NVidia also states on their site that the new RTX 30 Series cards are specifically HDMI2.1 AND support VRR. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/rtx-30-series-hdmi-2-1/ This means ANY TV that supports VRR, not just TVs that are G-Sync 'capable' like the LGs. There are MANY TVs that are out there that either have HDMI2.1, or support VRR over HDMI2.0. Many of the mid range and up Samsung TVs for starters. There are so many sites that have done reviews on the Ampere cards, but not a single one has tested or reviewed this. And honestly, it gets rather annoying that this is one of the major features of HDMI2.1, a major complaint by gamers in having to pay a premium for G-Sync displays when their counterparts are much cheaper, and that there are so many 4K TVs out there that are pretty good for gaming. You can find 55" Samsung Q60 Series TVs starting at $750CAN, or 65" for $1000CAN. You can't find a 4K monitor anywhere close to that size for that price range. And more and more people are gaming on TVs now. That's even been posted on Linus Tech Tips Youtube videos.

So there is this firmware for up to GTX1000 GPUs for DisplayPort. When I had a GTX960 it helped me when I couldn't get into bios on any monitor with DP (BIOS only showed on HDMI monitors). Now I have RTX3080ti and BIOS is also only showing on my HDMI monitor, but sometimes, when I boot the PC, my DP monitor shows "no signal". (only a reboot or plugging HDMI monitor helps). So my question is: Is there a firmware update like this but for RTX3000 GPUs? Or is this one ok to use and they just forgot to update the site with the new GPUs?

Hello, I have a PC with the following specs: CPU: i7-8700K GPU: None (yet) Cooler: Corsair H100i 240mm RGB Mobo: Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi RAM: 32GB (4x8) DDR4 3200MHz SSD: 1TB NVMe M.2 PSU: Corsair RM750x +4 Corsair ML120 RGB case fans I was gonna buy the Asus ROG Strix 2080 Ti but cancelled due to quarantine and stores shut down, now I've decided to wait for the RTX 3080 and 3080 Ti launch in Q4 2020. Based on the research I did before picking the parts, the 750W PSU from Corsair would be enough to handle the i7-8700k@4.7GHz and the RTX 2080 Ti without any significant overclocking. I'm wondering if the same will hold true if I buy the 3080 Ti when it's released. Is there a chance that the TDP of the new card will be a lot higher, which means I need a better PSU too? (I'm mainly asking for your speculation, because we don't have actual info in the 3080 Ti until now) Also, is 750W enough for this kind of configuration (8700k at 4.7GHz and RTX 2080 Ti in "Gaming" mode)? I'm mainly asking because someone told me that they bought a 1000w psu for those specs, just to be on the safe side. I really don't want the new card's performance to be limited because of the PSU, so I'm kinda worried I didn't buy something bigger. Thank you

NVIDIA teases Ampere announcement at the upcoming GTC Sauce: https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-ampere-gtc-keynote/ https://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-announces-gtc-2020-keynote-with-ceo-jensen-huang-set-for-may-14 "Get Amped for Latest Platform Breakthroughs in AI, Deep Learning, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics and Professional Graphics" "SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 24, 2020 -- NVIDIA will release its GTC 2020 keynote address, featuring founder and CEO Jensen Huang, on YouTube on May 14, at 6 a.m. Pacific time." With teasing like this it seems apparent that Ampere will be shown off. We may not get our gaming RTX/GTX cards announced, but I am still hoping. It has been about 2 years since the 2000 series has debuted making an announcement fairly on schedule. I do miss the days where we got new stuff every year, prices and performance moved so much faster back in the day.

Hello. This year I plan to upgrade to a new rig since my current one can't run my fav games at good looking settings. Thing is, I am not sure if I should wait for the upcoming Zen4 and Ampere. I would like to enjoy playing these summer holidays, since in September I will be in school and no time for it. I currently plan on wait to see if the rumoured 3600xt delivers a good performance and then build a pc pairing it with a B550 motherboard and either a 2060S, a 5700xt or a 2070s (haven't decided on this part yet) I know that if I don't wait I will cry a bit in September with all the new stuff arriving, but since with Zen2 it was almost impossible to get a CPU until almost February here (since they got out of stock everytime they restocked), I think that waiting for September could just not be worth, and that going with a current graphics card like the ones I have mentioned earlier will do fine for 6 years or so Budget (including currency): Around 1300€ Country: Spain Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: ARK Survival Evolved, Monster Hunter World, GTA V Other details: I made this parts list (GPU and such can be changed, I still haven't decided if Red or Green lel) PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor €183.00 @ Amazon Espana CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Edition 42 CFM CPU Cooler €38.81 @ LIFE Informatica Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard €119.90 @ Amazon Espana Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory €129.99 @ Corsair Storage Samsung 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive €88.99 @ Amazon Espana Video Card Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB NITRO+ Video Card €469.90 @ Amazon Espana Case Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case €110.90 @ Amazon Espana Power Supply Corsair RMx (2018) 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply €112.61 @ Electronicamente Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total €1254.10 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-28 04:24 CEST+0200 The 3600 will mostly be changed for a 3600xt The motherboard will be changed for a B550 I would buy this around mid July Thanks in advance!

This a little hard for me to explain what I am asking in this post. I have been attempting to get a new GPU since I bought my GTX 1080 a few years ago. Previously, I planned to wait for the 2080 ti but, then I couldn't find one for a semi-long period of time since the crypto-miner boom started. When I did find the straggling "inferior" 2080 ti's they were $200-$400 overpriced. So I waited till now and, I now see the new Ampere technology will be revealed, hopefully with home consumer cards included, in May that will likely include a reference card release date. What I am wondering is and, it's somewhat of a stupid question, is there any way to know when the aftermarket GPU companies release their build of the reference card? I obviously know every company would be different in this circumstance but, is there any other way than just watching twitter and all of their websites and just hope I get lucky? For example: I had a date and a relative time to buy my AMD 3900x CPU so I actually had a fighting chance to purchase one. I'd just rather not want to go through my RTX 2080 ordeal where I had to trawl through numerous websites for 6 months until I just finally said screw it and waited. I gravely misjudged the release time of its next successor. I hope this makes sense and I welcome any advice you have for me. Thanks, Ginger

Hello there ! it's my first post here on this forum ! ?? I have this mobo : ASUS PRIME H310M-K; I want to add one more fan to my chassis; I already have one in the back (exhaute) and that's all ; To add an other fan, i'am using a fan spliter, so i will be able to plug 2xFans in one Fan Header; The problem the total aperage of the 2 fans is : 0.24A+ 0.16A = 0.4A and in the manual i found this (Image below) : It is said that the CPU_FAN connector can't go beyond 0.5A ! So correct me if i'am wrong, pluging a Fan Spliter with 2 Fans and total of 0.4AP will be all good ? Or i have to change something concidering that 0.4A is very very close to the limits (0.5A) Ps : i don't think i can plug this one additional fan to the PSU because i don't find the Molex Adapter for it,so i guess this means that the PSU is probably using 100% of her capacity ASUS PRIME H310M-K.pdf

Caught in a bind here. I'm torn between upgrading my 1070 to a 2060 Super or (spend the extra 80 dollars) for a 2070 Super. Quick research showed about a 10% difference between those Rtx Cards so I don't know if the extra money is worth it. Or just wait until Nvidia Ampere. I run my computer at 1440p 144hz and want an upgrade that will last me a while. Specs: I7-7700k Gigabyte G1 1070 16GB 3200MHZ Ram MSI Z270 Gaming M5

I am going to build a pc for game development in march to be more specific to use Unreal engine 4. But seeing all this that rdna2 is going to be releasing in 2020 and nvidia ampere will also release in 2020 with 50% boost . I can't decide weather I should just go ahead and do it or wait for the new gpu to release?

Did some1 already test the new Ampere GPUs with the Brigade-Renderer? Two Ampere GPUs should be fast enough for at least 40 rays per pixel in 720p@30fps.

Currently my graphics card is a gtx 1060 and i use a 1440p monitor. I am planning to buy a 3070 when they release but ive noticed it only has 8gb of vram. I plan on keeping this card for around for the next 2 gpu generations (i will upgrade when rtx 5000 releases), so about 4 years more or less. Will 8gb last me 4 years playing at 1440p resolution? Im a bit nervous because when i first built my pc i dodged a bullet when i went to the shop and was planning to get a 1060 3gb when they had none left, so i settled for the 6gb. Looking back on that the 3gb model is basically unusable, should i wait for the 3070 with "16gb of vram" according to that one leak? Because if thats true that sounds expensive and it sounds like its quite far away. My 1060 is really starting to get slow and i want an upgrade sooner rather than later. Any suggestions?

Hi All! This is my first post. I've been extensively researching the new 3000 Nvidia cards. I'm currently in the process of building my first gaming rig and have been slowly buying parts to build it for the past month. I was going to get something in the likes of a 1660 Super for around $230ish but just recently learned about the new Ampere cards. I do have a gaming laptop with an i7-9750H and a 1660 Ti in it that i could use until then. In my situation would it be worth it to wait for the the 3070 to come out next month? Does anyone have predictions on what the availability would be at MSRP? Thanks for the help! I currently have: Asus AM4 TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) motherboard (is there a cheaper/better board?) Graphics Card ??????? AMD Ryzen 3600X with the Wraith Spire Cooler 16GB XPG GAMMIX D30 DDR4 3600MHZ CL18 RAM (kinda cheaped out here) EVGA 700 BQ 80+ Bronze PSU (is full modular worth the extra $?) Phanteks Eclipse P350X Case 5x ARCTIC P14 PST PWM fans (got them for around $50 shipped. Are there better fans in that price range?)

This seems really strange to me, but I noticed that the new EKWB waterblocks for the NVIDIA 3080 and 3090 have clear statements that the founders edition are NOT reference PCBs. While this kinda makes sense that the FE cards probably refer to those weird ones where somebody took a bite out of them, it's a strange paradigm to think that the Founders Edition is not synonymous with Reference. So if you are intending to watercool, the Founder's Edition may not be the "most widely supported PCB design" of this generation.... In my memory this has not happened as of yet, and makes me wonder if there may be a 2nd series of cards sold by NVIDIA that don't have a chunk taken out of them. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-vector-rtx-3080-3090-d-rgb-nickel-plexi

Hey, I'm currently running an i7 8700(non k), all other specs will be sufficient, I am considering a 3070 from a 2060, I am looking for an answer, not suggestions for lower gpus, will the 3070 bottleneck the 8700?
