Budget (including currency): 2300€ Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mostly gaming hey there =) so i was recently tasked with specing and building a pc for a friend. for around 2300€ i could get him either a system with 7800x3d + 7900XTX (2240€ total system cost) or 13700K (or 7800x3d) + 4070Ti (2160€ total system cost with the 13700k) all other components being about the same. he prefers Nvidia over Radeon, but is open for AMD is there anything negative about the 7900XTX why you wouldn't reccommend it? besides lesser raytracing performance? for the moment he will game on his 1080p display, but will upgrade to 1440p high refresh rate when chistmans rolls around, so in 2 month. he wants the rig to last as long as possible without being obsolete. a 4080 would cost about 400€ more than a 3070Ti or 200€more than a 7900XTX, so being budget restrained its not really an option without segnificantly cutting back on cpu or mobo cost ty for your advice

Hi guys, following on from advice of people on here, I'm looking to get either an RTX2000 series or RX5000 series as a nice upgrade for my current rig alongside a new motherboard (looking Asus prime b450), a ryzen 5 3600 and some faster ram (not sure what just yet) as a general upgrade and intention of an m.2 for booting and current ssds for games. Anyone know the beat places to get these cards (seen some dodgy looking 3060's at £170)! Any help would be much appreciated

Overview I'm looking to upgrade from my nVidia RTX 2060 6GB to something a bit newer with more VRAM. My workload is a bit random, primarily consisting of FFMpeg, Unreal Engine 5, Blender, and AAA Gaming. I don't really care about Raytracing, just raw performance... I'm not sure how much VRAM is necessary, but I know my current 6GB is a bottleneck for my workload... Just wondering what would be the best GPU for my needs... Options AMD RX 7900XT (20GB VRAM) nVidia RTX 3070ti (12GB VRAM) my budget is < $1,000 USD I watched the LTT video on the RTX 4070 Ti and it seemed to show that the RX 7900XT out performed the 4070ti in most benchmarks, however Video Card Benchmark say's the opposite? Thanks in advance!

My friend's little brother has been wanting a computer recently, so my friend came to me to put together a parts list. I'm pretty deadset on everything in the list except for the GPU. The brother wants a dual monitor setup and to play games with at least 120fps (he never specified what games) but their family doesn't want him to go overboard on the price. I ended up deciding that because the brother is only 12, he doesn't need a cutting edge card, and I wouldn't spend more than $200 on it. I ended up deciding on an 8gb RX580, which retail for around $170. However, I also remembered that a friend is selling his old EVGA 1070 for around that price. I'm trying to find information regarding which is better. A few youtube videos say the 580 is better, while most forums say the 1070 is better. Or, some people say neither and to just get a 1650/1650S/1660/1660S/1660TI/whateverthehecknvidiahasbeenmakingasofrecent, but I don't know where to start there so if one of these would be better, you'd have to specify which and why. Thanks.

Hello! I'm in a strange situation, I need a new GPU as I recently got a Lenovo legion y44w-10 ultra-wide and my GTX 1060 6GB simply wont do any longer. I would like to go with a RTX 2070 however here is the issue. In my country the RTX 2070 is currently almost $200 more than a 5700XT (Msi Rx 5700 Xt Gaming X 8G). I really want to go an Nvidia card so I convince myself that an RTX 2060 / RTX 2060 supper would do just fine. I go to check prices and they are also more expensive than the 5700TX!? And by $100 average too. The best I could find was an RTX 2060 (non-super) for the same cost as the 5700XT. Usually because of the unreasonable GPU prices I get locally I ship from the US, but as our currency has plummeted in value and shipping costs increased it is no longer feasible. Should I just get the 5700XT as it seems to be a good card and its value is close to msrp?

I'm looking at doing triple monitor gaming with a 1080p ultrawide in the middle and a 16:9 1080p monitor on each side and I'm not sure what gpu to get, can someone help me? My choices are a 1060 3gb, 470 4gb, 470 8gb, 480 4gb and a 480 8gb but I am sort of on a budget but I'll happily spend more if the performance increase is noticeable but not for a couple fps. One of the main games I play is gta 5 on medium settings because I don't notice a huge amount of difference to the looks on higher settings and I like about 40-60 fps. Can someone tell me what will be best for me in my situation?

It looks like AMD has stolen the throne from Intel in the consumer CPU market right now (at least for the next few months), but will they succeed in doing so against Nvidia as well? Radeon engineers proudly believe so: In short, rumor has it that four upcoming AMD consumer graphics cards ~ assuming the RX 5800, 5800XT, 5900, and 5900XT ~ will sport the following 4 versions of Navi respectively: Navi 12 (48 CUs) = around 20% more performance than the RX 5700XT Navi 14 (56 CUs) = around 40% more performance than the RX 5700XT Navi 21 (84 CUs) = around 2.1x the performance than the RX 5700XT Navi 23 (92 CUs) = around 2.3x performance than the RX 5700XT And if the numbers match the predicted performance scaling (.225 TFLOPS/CU FP32 @ 1755Mhz) then.........AMD scores! RX 5800 @ 10.8 TFLOPS vs. RTX 2080 SUPER @ 11.15 TFLOPS RX 5800XT @ 12.6 TFLOPS vs. RTX 2080TI/2080TI SUPER @ 13.45/14.8 TFLOPS RX 5900 @ 18.9 TFLOPS vs. TITAN RTX @ 16.31 TFLOPS RX 5900XT @ 20.7 TFLOPS vs. 2 x RTX 2080ti @ 16.81-24.88 TFLOPS (FPS gains of 25%-85%) That is, if they can release these before next year's GTX/RTX family P.S. Please take the numbers above with a meal of salt; they are estimates. Also, I couldn't find an existing thread discussing Navi 21/23 or "Nvidia Killer", but if there is please feel free to lock this one.

I heard that some people had luck with Alt+tab when playing games, saying that it fixes the lag that vsync comes with, and that it works by turning off the vsync in the game, and then alt+tab would use the "windows sync" and have it act like there is nothing there. Do most games work with this? I do not prefer to play windowed since I'm on 1080p and I want the full benefit of it, so don't suggest. So, is there anyone who uses this method and I want to know if it can replace freesync, since I am having a crisis over nvidia or amd (cheap and good, or expensive and poor) because I already own a freesync monito, but not a gfx card, so I have to make a choice. Is the alt+tab prophecy true?

I want to upgrade my old screen (Acer AL2216W), plus my GTX 660, but after much reading topics with the same doubt, I can't seem to find a consensus... My current rig is: Ryzen 1600x, 16GB RAM, 350 MoBo. Since I have to buy a monitor anyway I figured a Freesync one (24", 144hz, 1ms, 1920x1080) plus the RX 580 might be a good idea, but since the 1060 6GB is close to the same price and the monitor would work the same (without the Freesync), the final price would also be pretty much the same. I want whatever combo would work better, give me the best performance for the next games: Path of Exile Upcoming Dragon Ball FighterZ Upcoming Monster Hunter World Thank you.

My current computer setup is in my spoiler which I can also write here if needed. I do not believe my computer can max out 1080p games with 60+ fps, which is what I want and dream. At the moment I play a lot of Overwatch and some steam games (Lego). I used to play a lot of Payday 2 which I eventually might go back to, at least to some degree. The intended use is gaming. My monitor refresh rate is 60hz and resolution is 1980x1080 (I think this is right?). I do like playing and trying a lot of different games. But I rarely play AAA titles. So my question is; Do you think I should upgrade aka remove some parts for newer parts or build a whole new computer? I have not yet decided what budget I will have for my computer only what I want it to achieve.

So the RX 480 made quite the impression at the $200 price point. With more than enough performance for a card that price, it's going to do well for AMD and the graphics card industry as a whole. Now, seeing as the new Polaris GPUs are based on a 14nm FinFET process as opposed to Pascal's 16nm FinFET process, should AMD release the Polaris beast, I believe with the many improvements they've made; not only could they create a card that matches or very well outperforms a GTX 1080, but could do so for a much lower price. AMD seems to finally be bringing to the game what the PC market has needed for a long time. I'm rooting for AMD here. Not for being the top of the line in GPU manufacturing. But for bringing higher performance products to more people, at a lower price. Is anyone else excited for what comes after the RX 480?

I was thinking of getting a MSI GTX 970 ME Edition graphics card. I prefer NVIDIA cards because of their awesome NVIDIA Experience program. Although the R9 390 came out,(hearing it has better performance) I still want a 970 only because of the past experiences I have had with AMD drivers. I had a R9 290x and had to send it back, my 660 was performing better than it. So I wanted to get a NVIDIA card because of the drivers, although I've heard that the drivers for AMD are improving. Now I'm stuck to either get a 970 or R9 390. Please leave your opinions in the comments below!

Hello, Im trying to make a choice between the msi gaming r9 280 with 3 gb ram or the msi gtx 960 100ME with 2gb. These graphics cards are very close as far as real worlds performance from what i can see. There prices are similar only about $20-$40 apart. Note* the processor i'm planing to use an i5 4670 3.4ghz quadcore with 16gb of ddr3 ram and a corsair 600w power supply.

which is a better build and more of a future proof build? my main game is dota 2 this builds are a bit of overkill for dota 2 but i want to try latest games like gta 5 so which build should i choose? I already have the money and btw im not a fan of overclocking so its obviously a non k system. Right now im gaming with 60hz 1080p resolution monitor but i plan on going 144hz in the future. 1 - Core i7-4790 4.0Ghz 4th Gen Haswell Refresh 1 - MSI H81M-P33 4th Gen 1 - 8GB(2x4GB) G.Skill AEGIS DDR3 1600 C11(F3-1600C11D-8GIS) 1 - MSI GTX 970 TIGER OC 4GB GDDR5 256Bit(GTX 970 4GD5T OC) 1 - Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 RED LED Window USB 3.0 1 - SEASONIC G-750 80+ GOLD MODULAR(SSR-750RM) 1 - WD Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB Sata 6Gpbs 1 - Samsung 24x DVD-RW Sata OR 1 - Core i5-4690 3.5Ghz 4th Gen Haswell Refresh 1 - MSI H81M-P33 4th Gen 1 - 8GB(2x4GB) G.Skill AEGIS DDR3 1600 C11(F3-1600C11D-8GIS) 1 - SAPPHIRE R9 FURY TRI-X 4G HBM 4096BIT(11247-00-40G) 1 - Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 RED LED Window USB 3.0 1 - SEASONIC G-750 80+ GOLD MODULAR(SSR-750RM) 1 - WD Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB Sata 6Gpbs 1 - Samsung 24x DVD-RW Sata

I wanna upgrade my pc but I'm not sure if I should go amd or nvidia. Right now I have an R9 270x and I'm a little bit curious about trying out an nvidia card. It would also be cheaper to get the 970 because I really want the new Metal Gear Solid game that comes free with the nvidia card. I don't want to buy a new gpu for a couple of years and the R9 390 seems more "future proof" with 8gb vram. I also heard something about amd having better DX12 performance but I have not really researched about that.

Hi all, I have a dilemma that's annoying me quite a bit. As stated I have a Sapphire R7 260X, great little card, glad that i bought it...... BUT this graphic card has some problems that my notebook gpu (gt630m) had no trouble handling. 1: On my laptop, I could put the settings at 1280x720p within a game and it would be perfectly stretched or upscaled to 1080p like it should. BUT my R7 does not and leaves a border around my image. I can fix this problem by bumping up the res to 1280x768 in games but this is still an annoyance and I'm wandering what I can do to fix this as i have tried the overscan options on both my tv and my card through AMD and if I want to play at 720p upscaled I have to either, bump up the res, or slect ZOOM1 on my tv but thats annoying since when i go back to normal screen its all weird on normal display. 2:On my lappy I used to enable V-Sync in games and it worked, no tearing, no nothing. Silky goodness. BUT on my R7 even though I have V-Sync enabled in game i still randomly get a tear here and there and I'm running at 60 fps. If any of you could help it would be appreciated. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Also do you think its my graphics card or possibly my tv? Thankyou

Hey there all! So im building a Gaming PC soon but still need to find a good GPU. I am mainly going to use my PC for Streaming and Gaming. I need to know what GPU is the best for these tasks. I am aware that AMD cards run hotter and louder? (i think). The card i was thinking of getting is either the Gigabyte GTX 960 2gb or the Gigabyte R9 280X 3gb. If you have any suggestions on what is better or a better alternative then feel free to comment. Thanks Guys!!

So, I currently have a 280x but I think I will be able to upgrade to a 970 in 2 years, I got my computer (280x) about 3-6 months ago. So 2 years is the earliest I can think of upgrading so I need to make use of what I have bought. Main Question(s): Will it be worth upgrading to a gtx 970? For how long will the 970 be as great as it seems to be in the present (do you think)? Background info: I have fx 6300 and I play on a single 1080p monitor screen and a 600w psu. (Might be 550 I am not entirely sure, but on my shopping list if I go back and look it says 600w) If that matters .. Edit: Apparently 970 will be considered old by that time. Anyone knows how often they release new/special gpus? I thought it takes 5 years or something. Perhaps that's only for cpus.

Last week I purchased a new Monitor (Asus MG279Q) and it arrived a few days ago but my GPU suddenly died before I could test it (I'm mr unlucky). The card had some problems before but the manufacturer said it's okay. So this time I contacted the retailer and they said I should send it in to them. Just got their mail.... I got a full refund for my card from 2013 So now I'm looking into buying a new card and I'm willing to pay some money for an upgrade. I got 280€ back and I'm willing to pay up to 200€ more (let's say 220€ for the clean 500€ mark) so I would be in the market for either a R9 390X or a GTX 980. My monitor is a 1440P, 144hz screen with freesync functionality but the freesync only goes up to 90hz and is not a major concern for me. So tell me what to buy and if you recommend brands remember that only the cheaper 980s fall into my budget Thank you! A happy dead gpu owner.

Ok, hope this won't start a war  So from the start i loved ATI, had Nvidia but both GPUs died in the first month (burned out, literally), so i trusted ATI and when AMD bought them, i trusted that AMD will give the same quality service as ATI did...that was till 2013 when the last actual working driver came out, the 13.12 one, after that i had constant crashes on my R9 270x. Their support was...idk what it was, aliens or something. Ok back on topic, so since their drivers aren't working (for me atleast) i want to switch to Nvidia, but am still getting that itching feeling of buying the Fury X. So, i came here to ask you guys (love the tech tips channel  ) so i thought the community must be good too Thoughts? EDIT: I'm upgrading the whole PC, so no real specs, but the budget is around 1000-1200€ (summer job pay is 1400€) I will leave my old monitor for now (LG 3D D2342P) and i have a mouse/keyboard ofc. I'll use it mostly for games and hosting a server for Minecraft or anything like that, tho i want to start making my own games, was always a small dream of mine
