Hi, I am planning on buying a laptop and I have 2 CPU/ Processor options, Intel i7- 13620H VS AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS. The graphics card for both of them is same, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 6BG GDDR6. I need help as I am very confused between the two options. I will primarily use it for some daily work and gaming. The price offered to me for both is the same. The laptop brand is Lenovo. Kindly give some suggestions along with a brief reasoning as if you are explaining a fairly new guy to this field. Thanks

So I have a laptop that has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and a AMD Ryzen 7 4800h with Radeon Graphics. Also this laptop had 32GB RAM. This is in relation to gaming mostly because that is what this laptop is being used for. How do I completely force the computer to ONLY use my 1650 whilst ignoring the intergrated graphics In an attempt to reduce conflicts and graphical glitching?? Is that a proper way to go about this and what else might I be missing?? My issue really is that I am having really bad graphics glitching and very severe FPS drops in this game which already has really bad optimization. My gripes about the game aside I have been told that there may be conflicts between the two brands and I have done a little digging of my own and it does check out. Well at least that conflicts of this nature exist. Well aside from that I tried to see how removing just the Radeon drivers and software would effect the situation and in short my system melted down severely. Complete cluster fuck. It is beyond me why as I believed that my 1650 was what was handling the graphics so by my thinking removing the support for the integrated graphics should have down nothing other than remove these supposed conflicts while the computer functioned as it should. To be clear as well I made sure that I only removed the software and drivers for Radeon and not Ryzen. Still I do not understand how such a useless pest caused my system to meltdown. Need as much help as I can get.

Good evening, After 10 years I finally built my new small ITX computer with the following components. 1. AMD RYZEN 5800X CPU (stock clock speed 3800mhz) 2. ASUS STRIX ROG X570-I ITX Motherboard (firmware has been updated to latest stable version) 3. 2x Corsair 16GB 3600mhx DDR4 (32gb total RAM) 4. Nvidia 1080 8GB GPU (Sorry can't afford the newer ones) 5. NZXT Kraken X53 AIO 6. Cooler master SFX 850 watt PSU 7. 4x Nocuta 120mm Fans (forgot the part number) 8. 1x Samsung 980 PRO 500GB NVME PCI 4.0 9. 1x Samsung 980 PRO 1TB NVME PCI 3.0 10. 1x Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD 11. Corsair Commander Pro Fan Hub (for all them fans) 12. Cooler Master NR200 Case (standard) After installation, all has gone through well, I installed Windows 10 Pro and it went through flawlessly, all drivers installed, fan controllers programs installed. The only annoying thing occurring now is that the CPU doesn't stay at stock speeds (3800 MHz) it keeps on boosting up to 4800 MHz according to the task manager in windows and my NZXT monitoring software. All my fan just start to rev up when I'm just browsing the web and even when installing programs. The only options I have touched in the BIOS was adjusting the RAM frequency speed to 3600 MHz and enabled Virtualization that's it. The BIOS does show targeted CPU frequency of 3800Mhz but again windows and several monitoring programs show it boosting up. In this small form factor like this one I would really prefer to not to have the CPU get so worked up. I am new to overclocking or underclocking the CPU correctly. If any one can offer some guidance on how to approach this I would be very appreciative. Thank you very much, Mario

Hello, If I were to underclock a Ryzen 3950x (16c/32t, 3,5GHz, about 145W max.) to have the same power consumption as the 3600x (6c/12t, 3,8GHz, about 76W max.), would I get about the same performance? Even if they're using the same architecture, the answer is probably no since the corecount on the 3950x is much higher. But at what point becomes the coreclock so low it evens out with the 3600x performance wise? Or in other words: At what point becomes frequency stronger than the amount of cores? I'm asking this because of the 3950x laptop video LTT made a few days ago. The TDP of that machine was 65 Watts if I'm correct so the 3950x was underclocked. And I had the question if they wouldn't be better of with a cheaper CPU using less cores but then at a higher frequency (I suppose). Probably not, I'm sure the manifacturers tested it. Otherwise they wouldn't have done it because it would be a waste of money, OR they just did it because of the marketing.) Please don't ask for the point of it or try to change the concept / come up with ideas that evade the root of this problem. Please just answer the question. Thanks in advance :)

HELP! I am having a very odd issue with my AMD Ryzen 7 1700x on a Gigabyte AX370-Gaming 5 motherboard. After some extensive overclocking, I suddenly had issues with getting the Gigabyte App Center CIV app to work properly. No matter how many times I wiped and re-installed the software, I couldn't get it to control the fans anymore. So I decided to re-install Windows 10 Pro to see if it would fix the problem. This didn't fix the issue, but now I'm having a far worse problem. Even though "Device Manager" shows I have all 16 threads visible and working properly, Going into "Task Manager" and selecting "Performance" shows I have literally half of my processor available. Even CPU-Z shows I have 4-cores and 8-threads. It's even showing I only have HALF of my cache! Has anyone else had this issue, or is this possibly the sign my CPU has died (praying to Bob it's not a dead CPU)?

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZXCMxY - my PC stats. I am having problems on startup. I will hit the power button, and for 4-5 seconds (and some times even longer) it will do nothing. After that, the pc starts up normally. Why does it wait to start up? Another issue I'm having has to do with my CPU acting weird. I have it overclocked stable at 3.8 ghz with minimal voltage running through it in attempt to preserve life-expectancy. It seems, however, that some games do not run very well on the cpu side. Fore example I can't get fortnite on full graphics without dipping under 60fps when looking at large areas (cities, etc). Do I need to pump more voltage through it? I'm a noob EDIT: It may be worth noting that I only have 50GB left on my ssd harddrive (main) and I don't have a backup. however that shouldn't cause problems right? Thanks Ry

Good day to all of you. First of all, i am new in these kinds of forums. Please forgive me if i have posted on the wrong thread. This is the problem i have. I have build a PC (see specs in the bottom). This is my first build, but i have quite a lot of experience when it comes to computers (specially hardware). I didn't have any problems while building my PC and i knew exactly where to put everything. After i built my PC, it booted up correctly (it took a little long but i know its OK if its the first time it's booting). I installed windows 10 and continued to install all the drivers. I downloaded the drivers from the official MSI web-site. The PC was running good. Though it took a little to long to boot. Actually, it took to long to POST (like 20 or more seconds). One problem i noticed is that, every time i turned my PC off, windows would shut down, but the fans kept spinning and the LEDs in the case and everywhere were still on for like an other 15 seconds (Add that to the shut down time of windows and it took like 40 seconds to completely shut down the PC). The same was happening while booting up. I press the button, lights and fans turn on for like 20 seconds, then the PC POSTS, then it starts Booting. Also, the RAM is 3000 mhz. In bios, my ram was underclocked at 2133 mHz. I read in the internet and i found out that this is a common problem with that motherboard and that updating the bios would fix that (and many other problems). So cool, i downloaded the latest bios (v1.5) and upgraded my bios(v1.2) at the time. -After i updated, i saw that now the ram was running at 2133mHz but i could easily OC it at 2666mHz. I was OK with that, though it was not 3000 mHz. But i still had the other problems. Long POSTING and BOOTING times, fans and LEDs still on after Windows shuts down so i went to the bios and disabled splash screen and some other stuff. After i did that, i restarted my PC and yeah it was somewhat faster but now i had an other problem. Everytime i turn my pc on, it posts (takes long again), starts the Windows 10 boot (the circle loading screen starts) but right after 1 or 2 seconds, pc restarts and it boots up again but it boots into the BIOS. So now every time i turn on my pc it boots into the bios. Yes, the bios does memorize all the settings, time and ram frequency. -I tried to fix this in the bios and WOW, now i have an other problem. Each time i turn my PC on, in the moment i press the power button (before it posts and stuff), a creepy pixelated image is shown on my screen, then it proceeds with the usual, (boot windows, restart while booting windows, restart PC, show that image again, boot the BIOS, I exit bios, PC restarts, shows that creepy image, posts (long), boots (longer) and now i can use my pc. Great :D). An other thing that i noticed is that now after all this has happened, when windows boots up, it is laggy (like when i want to type my password it takes some time for the login screen to show up) Also yesterday, for some reason my CPU was only being used like 12% in Counter Strike GO, but i assume (And hope) its because of CSGO. SPECS: Processor: AMD Ryzen 1700 (Amazon.com); Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk (the one with red LED) (Amazon.com); RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3000 mHz (Amazon.com); HDD: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 2 TB (2016 i think) (Newegg.com); Case: NZXT s340 Elite (Newegg.com); GPU: PowerColor RX480 4GB Red Dragon (Newegg.com); OS: Microsoft Windows 10; I will get an SSD eventually and see if that fixes the booting problem. Thank you very very much for reading this far. I wish you all the best ^^

Hey Guys, Just bought a custom pc from cyberpower and was super excited untill I booted it up. To me it appears that my cpu performance is throtling at 550mhz no matter what I do. I have updated all my drivers, Change power setting to high performance and even reseted the BIOS to the default settings. I really want to start gaming on this rig and I won't be able to get any support from cyberpower untill monday so I am hoping someone can find a fix here for me. In an original post I had made, I started to ask the question about OC-ing my AMD Ryzen 7 2700. Post can be read here. But as HansPower here on the forum had directed me, he noted that it seemed odd that my Ryzen 7 2700 was not running at it's designed advertised speed. Now as far as I can tell, all my bios settings are stock except for enabling DOCP for my memory overclock. But now I will ask this. The Boost clock is advertised as 4.1Ghz, however, it only boosts to 3.30Ghz when benchmarking it. Is this normal for Ryzen 7 2700 when it's supposed to boost to 4.1Ghz? Or do I need to reseat, my CPU? Or change something in my bios. EDIT: I am also using the stock CPU cooler that comes with my CPU.

Hello everyone, First of all, i'm not looking to overclock any of these cpu's and i also already got a Case, Psu (Corsair HX850), Gpu (AMD RX480 +/or NVIDIA GTX970) etc. and i also got an AIO Cooler (NXZT Kraken X62) compatible only with the 1151 Intel Socket since its an Old model version (V1) and it did not came with an AM4 bracket. PS: ordering one from NZXT isnt really an option cause it takes way too long, and i have to buy the mobo up front as it clearly states: Attach proof-of-purchase for both your Kraken series AIO liquid cooler and your AMD AM4-socket motherboard. I'm haven problems choosing between the AMD Ryzen 7 2700 or the INTELCORE-i7 8700 what would be the Best CPU for Gaming+Workstation (Video/Photo editing etc) ? I only have triple A Games, but im not a hardcore gamer so i don't want it to be "only good for gaming" I Have a budget of around € 550,- and they both are in the same price range if i include the Corsair AIO i need to buy when choosing the Ryzen 7 so now my final Question is... : Should i buy the INTELCORE - i7 8700 - 6Cores/12Threads 3.20 GHz - 4.60 GHz ASUS PRIME Z390-A mobo Socket 1151 My 1year old NZXT Kraken X62 (compatible with the 1151 socket) Or should i buy AMD Ryzen 7 - 2700 - 8Cores/16Threads 3.20 GHz - 4.10 GHz ASUS PRIME X470-Pro Mobo Socket AM4 (2nd Gen) Corsair Hydro H115i RGB PLATINUM (compatible with the AM4 socket "out of the box") Which one do you think would be the best choice ? Thankyou in advance for your help!

Hello I'm in need of advice for a PC build. My budget is 1300€ with the monitor included. I would mainly use this PC for content creation, such as photo/video/audio editing and architectural rendering and some light gaming. For heavy gaming I gave a PS4... I want it to last and be reliable. Can you please help me decide on components and advise on certain areas? Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite - 190€ ASUS TUF Gaming Plus - 215€ CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (around 300€ in my country) GPU: I am a bit torn between GTX 1660Ti and RX 5500XT and RX 5600XT I found a good deal for Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 5500XT 8Gb Nitro - 275€ that's a steal... RX 5600XT 6Gb is around 300-320€ PSU: Corsair TX650M/EVGA 650GQ (between 85-95€ in my country) RAM: DDR4 16GB Kit (2x8Gb) 3600MHz I was thinking about Corsair Vengeance LPX? SSD/M.2: Samsung 970 EVO 250-500Gb ( between 80-110€ in my country) Seagate Barracuda 1Tb SSD (around 120€ in my country) CASE: no clue, but I'd like a case that has a glass door and 2-3 fans. MONITOR: curved, adjustable stand, at least 27" and maximum 200€ Thanks a lot.

Hello everyone , i hope everyone is doing alright this evening ! This is my first post here and its regarding about a boot loop. i recently build a new PC and after i flashed the newest bios via usb everything seemed alright. Windows installed correctly and booting worked just fine. I don't know if it was the cause, but when i updated my amd driver i had to restart my pc in order for it to work. But as soon as i booted it, it just starting looping infinitly. So i tried to reset the CMOS,switched the RAM into diffrent slots. None of it seemed to work so i cleared my ssd and installed windows again via usb. That of course also didnt seem to work. So then i changed the bios(ik i should have done it earlier), disabled secure boot and switched to UEFI boot. After that failed i bought a new ssd in hope that this was just the error. I also flashed to an older bios version that had ryzen 3000 support. I also tried to repair it with windows repair tools and with cmd but nothing worked . I honestly dont know what to do anymore, i really hope someone could help me with that. Much appreciated. Vid with the fixes i tried: My Specs: Motherboard: b450 MSI CARBON CPU: RYZEN 7 3700X GPU: GEFORCE RTX 2070 EVGA Black SSD: Crucial MX500 CT500MX500SSD1(Z) 500GB RAM: Cruicial ballistics 16gb PSU:Corsair TX550M Sincerly, Trupp

Hi everyone. I have a ASUS FX505DT laptop which came with 8gb 2666mhz ram. The cpu is AMD Ryzen 3750H. I bought one more memory module, 8gb 2400mhz. Every module is in its own channel. Sometimes i see very minor sound shutters while browsing web or similar. Is this due to different ram speeds? In theory, it shouldn't be a problem cuz max memory speed defined by AMD is 2400mhz and the 2666mhz module should run slower. I attached CPU-Z ram details. Thank you for your response. Sorry, my english isn't perfect :)

I recently got an AMD Ryzen 7 3800x for my birthday, paired with an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming motherboard. I installed the new motherboard and cpu successfully, but when checking the temps I noticed that they were oddly high. I read somewhere online that with the 3800x, you have to undervolt it and overclock it to take temps down while still not losing too much performance. I attemped to do this, but after the fist try not doing anything, I tried again. The second time I did it, when I tried to boot it the red CPU light on my motherboard was lit. I tried to reset my cmos without any success. I have no idea how to fix this issue and would accept any help. (My max temp when running Cinebench was about 85c) Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800x CPU Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B450-F Gaming Ram: 16gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz GPU: MSI 1660 ti Gaming X Power Supply: Corsair CX 650M

I am planning to build a gaming PC,after doing some research and watching lots of reviews, this is the final spec list I came up with https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fGWcp8 The only problem is it is slightly over budget for me, so will it be possible to substitute a few things to make it a few dollars cheaper? I know the Kraken x63 is unnecessary but I really like the look of it so please dont make me take it out Bottom line is that if I cant get equivalent performance at lower a price, I am prepared to spend the money for this but I definitely cannot go above it. Also, just to make sure, if I do end up buying this exact spec, are there some compatibility issues or something that I should be aware of? Thanks in advance

Hey there, I am looking for a good laptop as a mechanical engineering (some CAD and simulation stuff in the future maybe). I've narrowed my search down to two laptops so far (links below). (Summary): Does having AMD make up for losing 8GB worth of RAM on Intel? Laptop 1: HP Envy X360 15-ed0003ca intel i7-1065G7 16GB DDR4 SDRAM Intel Iris Plus Graphics silver $1329.99 CAD Laptop 2: HP Envy X360 15-ee0003ca AMD Ryzen 7 4700U 8GB DDR4 SDRAM AM Radeon Graphics Black $1099.99 CAD There really isn't much of a difference, my biggest question is whether a loss in 8GB is made up for by having AMD Ryzen 7. My current laptop has an Intel i5 and 12GB RAM. Also if you have any other laptop suggestions, that would be well appreciated too. Thanks. laptop 1: https://www.costco.ca/hp-envy-x360-15-ed0003ca-2-in-1-laptop-bundle%2c-i7-1065g7.product.100656728.html laptop 2: https://www.costco.ca/hp-envy-x360-15-ee0003ca-2-in-1-laptop-bundle%2c-amd-ryzen-7-4700u.product.100657185.html

A buddy of mine decided to upgrade his RAM He bought Corsair DDR4 Dominator Platinum, to replace his G.Skill DDR4 Aegis. (T But as we found out the hard way, AMD Ryzen doesn't go higher than 2133Mhz on the RAM. So now he's left with a hard lock on his RAM speed, perhaps he could Frankenstein these ram sticks onto the same board to at least let him get a boost on his capacity. So is it at all possible to combine 2 different brands and 2 different capacity sizes without too much of a penalty, still having a overall positive outcome ? (Edit: The capacity is the same on the modules, just had the wrong link sent to me) Lemme know guys

While eating cinnamon rolls yesterday and riding the media roller coaster, I realized I was falling under a trance. I needed to find something productive to do with my time. I started this PC mod last October for AMD to use in a giveaway to promote the game. The mod was shelved after my online store got hacked. (everything gone) I explained to AMD that getting my website back online was a bigger priority and they understood. So here we are today, in quarantine. Let's get this Outer Worlds PC finished. To everyone else here, Enjoy your time with family. Be smart and refrain yourself from going anywhere if not needed. The best thing to do is just accept it and if you get it, do the best you can. This is all we can do. Neighbors, friends helping neighbors, friends during this time is key to a good outcome. Eat well, vitamins and exercise are important. Change / clean your house air filters. Keep kitchen counters, bathrooms clean. My project builds for events this summer are cancelled. Not having these to keep me occupied was leading to consumption of media and snacks. Wake up and take control of your life. Go on a walk or listen to music. Distract yourself with productive things around the house. Prepare the best you can and take the time to enjoy time home with your family. We will overcome this as we always do. I wish the best for everyone around the globe during this pandemic. Alright, get on with it! Here is the list of PC hardware that will be featured in The Outer Worlds Custom AMD Gaming PC Case Mod by Mnpctech Ryzen™ 7 Processors | AMD 3800 X AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 XT Graphics Card Silverstone LD03 ITX PC Case. Silverstone TD03-RGB CPU Cooler. Plextor m9peg Series NVMe Connection M. 2 2280 Internal SSD GB with Heat Sink Model 512 Inches PX-512M9PEG. Mosquito and I did a review and individual builds with the Silverstone LD03 case last year. The build is named after the Unreliable Spaceship. It plays a large role in the Outer Worlds game, so I had to have it incorporated into the build in some manner. This is the concept drawing. There will be some changes and details updated in the final version. Somebody said it looked like a Coffee Machine, and it sorta does. I'm imagining what "Spacer's Choice" Coffee would taste like?
