Hello I have been trying to troubleshoot, why the samsung´s NVMe driver wouldn´t install on either of my drives. A couple days back, the retailer, where I bought the drive, adviced to reinstall the OS. I did that Well, guess what happened Now windows 10 cannot freaking find that 2TB of NVMe storage. It shows up in the BIOS, and the self test passed. I already tried to go with this thread on the asus forum https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?115969-Install-Win-10-M-2-nvme-drive It did not work Currently, I only have the 2TB 970 evo plus installed. Now, in the windows install ISO, the installer doesn´t find any drive to install to. There is that 1 2Tb drive still physiclly there, but I cannot get it to see it I already tried to run the windows 10 from my 500 GB 970 evo plus. In there, the only drive in the disk manager, was the 500gb version. The 2TB version shows up in the device manager, but I cannot access or assing it as a drive for windows Any ideas that coupld get me futrer on this road towards having both disks working, would be appreciated. And here are the system specifications, althought they are in my profile as well Ryzen 5 3600xt B550-F 32GB of trident z NEO 3600Mhz cl16 SSD 1 970 evo plus 500 GB SSD 2 970 evo plus 2TB Radeon rx 5700 xt gaming oc (gigabyte) Windows version:windows 10 Pro

Hey guys, recently i thought about buying a new GPU (very likely an RTX 3070 if i can get one). Here's a list of my current setup: CPU : AMD ryzen 5 1600 6x 3,6 Ghz GPU: MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 Mainboard: Asus Prime B350-Plus PSU: 550 Watt Corsair RMx 80+ Gold Does this setup also Work well with an RTX3070 or would it be better to built a completely new rig? Also would 550 Watt be enough to power the System? Thanks for your Help!

Hi everyone, just a few days ago i builded a new rig (First try with AMD), but im having unexpected shutdowns while gaming (no more than 1/2hs after in game). when i go to event viewer i can see the error "Kernel 41" I tried updating all drivers, checked if I have the correct version of everything but keeps shuting down unexpectedly during game s. also changed in powersaving options all to performance and disabled all hybernating as a first try to solve... Additional problems I experienced during this 3 days experience so far: Was unable to install windows (stuck on logo) - SOLVED, ended up updating bios to the latest version. processor was working very hot (Idle 70°C) so underclocked it for a more stable temp (Idle 55°C) All parts are brand new except for the graphics card and hdd drives. System info: Ryzen 5 5600x (stock cooler) - Underclocked to 4.5 / 1.2v (still running a little hot while gaming 70/80°C - im waiting till the AIO arrives) Mother Gigabyte B550M Aorus Pro (1.0) 32GB Ram (8x4) Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz (XMP enabled and running at 3200) Graphics Card ASUS TUF 1660S PSU Gigabyte 750w 80 Plus Gold WD 750N 250gb (boot) (also new) 2x WD blue HDD, 1TB and 2TB mass storage. Right now Im almost out of options how to solve this, I will try to disable XMP and check, but this is new and dont know how to fix it or troubleshoot it...

I recently purchased an RTX 3070 that was mining for less than 3 months for 350€ (~370$). It was running just fine after my RX 5700xt and installing up to date drivers with DDU. I played for 4 hours after that without any issues and then my PC rebooted. At this point I could only be 1min max in the desktop before It'll turn off and on again. I reinstalled the same driver with DDU after reseating almost everything in my pc, thinking it was a faulty install. I could use the PC for 2 hours before encountering the same behavior plus now I have, some BOSD: video scheduler internal error. After the first crash the GPU was hot to the touch but nor burning. Tere is no funny odors or fumes or anything like that. my specs: ryzen 5 2600 (it'll be replaced with a Ryzen 7 5800x in a week) asus prime B450M-A 2 x 8Go hyperX fury 2666MHz cas 16 EVGA 750w alim what I tried so far: reseating GPU, cables and ram Reinstalling gpu driver with ddu disabling DOCP removing the side panel and putting a fan blowing air into the case I'm using an old 1660ti to avoid using ddu to reinstall my rx5700xt Is the gpu faulty or is it just the cpu / motherboard too old for supporting it correctly? Why could it run fine for 4h and then just crashing?

Hey all, I just finished building my first pc. Initially the only problem was that there was no image coming to my monitor but after re-seating my ram and video card I got it to work. All seemed good. I installed Windows, updated drivers, I downloaded Steam, started playing a few games and everything was perfect. Then, today after playing Factorio, I closed Steam and the pc just turned off by itself as I was going back to the desktop. Now, when I turn it on there is no image coming to the monitor AND the little red cpu light is slowing blinking on my motherboard. I have taken everything out and re-seated everything, including the processor. I tried using just one ram stick and then I tried the other. I disconnected the video card to see if that was the issue too. Nothing. So, when turned on, the fans all work, the cpu fan works, but nothing appears on the monitor and obviously I can't access BIOS. Side note: It doesn't seem like power is getting to my keyboard as it doesn't even light up now (it's a Hyperx Alloy origins) Any help/insight would be much appreciated. Thank you! And here's a video of when I turn it on AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor MSI B450 Gaming Plus MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card Corsair TXM Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply NZXT H510 ATX Mid Tower Case MSI Optix MAG241C 23.6" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor

Hey there. I put a 100% Vanilla Minecraft server up in my spare bedroom some months back and have been educating myself on the details of being an admin in this environment. We started on my extra R5-2600 and 16GB of ddr4-3000 and a terrible sata ssd. I've upgraded us to a good Samsung NVME drive and doubled the system memory, allocating as much as 24GB to Minecraft if needed. We also upgraded to a 3600X I am trying to improve performance continually while also improving the experience. Currently the draw distance on the server is 18 chunks. When my small group of players is online I am pretty easily able to outfly the redraw of the server. My question is, would a 3900X handle this better simply because it has twice the cache? The small increase is clocks would help slightly, but it's the cache that I think would actually make a noticable difference in gameplay. Is this a reasonable assessment? Can I borrow an R9 processor from someone just to test this? Yes I am serious and would treat the loaned hardware with the utmost respect and replace it in the unlikely event of a failure.

Hello, If I were to underclock a Ryzen 3950x (16c/32t, 3,5GHz, about 145W max.) to have the same power consumption as the 3600x (6c/12t, 3,8GHz, about 76W max.), would I get about the same performance? Even if they're using the same architecture, the answer is probably no since the corecount on the 3950x is much higher. But at what point becomes the coreclock so low it evens out with the 3600x performance wise? Or in other words: At what point becomes frequency stronger than the amount of cores? I'm asking this because of the 3950x laptop video LTT made a few days ago. The TDP of that machine was 65 Watts if I'm correct so the 3950x was underclocked. And I had the question if they wouldn't be better of with a cheaper CPU using less cores but then at a higher frequency (I suppose). Probably not, I'm sure the manifacturers tested it. Otherwise they wouldn't have done it because it would be a waste of money, OR they just did it because of the marketing.) Please don't ask for the point of it or try to change the concept / come up with ideas that evade the root of this problem. Please just answer the question. Thanks in advance :)

So before I get my butt fired for giving my boss bad news (JK). I wanted to pick everyone's brain. My employer is rolling out a new Ryzen 5 Custom. I have verified both a bad Motherboard, and a Bad CPU (Brand new!). As Part of building any custom I always stress test it with Aida64, Metro Last Light, and the Heaven Benchmark. However when running AIDA64 it errors out about 5 minutes in saying system failure detected. Now this only happens when I am also testing System Memory too. Metro Last Light stutters worse then Intel Integrated GPU on 1920x1080. I have replaced the CPU, MOBO, and I have verified the GPU on a known good system. The only thing is the memory is not on the approved MSI list. It is a Corsair cmk16GX4M2A2400C16R Ram Kit. Has anyone ever had any issues like what I am experiencing? I am right now doing a full Memtest on the system to verify if the Memory is the culprit or not, but I am running out of ideas. Thank you in advance for the help you give me.

Hello guys, I am having problems with my CPU temps. The idle temp is 44 celcius and the highest i got was 74 when playing Shadow of The Tomb Raider (after 20 minutes...). I have a very big case(SilentumPC Regnum RG4T) so good airflow, i connected all 3 fans that come with the case, i have good cable managment but i still get these temps. I am using the stock cooler that had the thermal paste already applied to it. The screws are tigthened as far as they can go. If there is nothing i can do with the stock cooler then please recommend a cooler under 50$ preferably RGB that can hopefully (not 100% necessary) allow me to overclock the CPU a little bit.

Hello everyone! My PC Build: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (With the stock cooler) GPU: PowerColor Radeon™ RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 (The one with the blower style Cooling) MOBO: ASUS PRIME X470-PRO (With 5406 BIOS Vers.) RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE (RGB) PRO - 16GB - 3200Mhz PSU: Corsair CX650M DISKs: 1x SSD INTEL for OS (No NVMe, but SATA) & 1x WD Blue 1TB Im new here, not good in english but I need your help! Everything is new! I bought the parts and assebled it about 1-2 weeks ago. I did a clean install of the OS and install all the Drivers needed (AMD Chipset, Graphics Card Radeon Software latest Vesion 20.2.2 etc). So then I tried to play a random game "Assasins Creed-Black Flag" (Random Choise the first time). I played for 15 minites and then suddenly my PC freezed(about 1 sec freeze) and restarted immediately. I tried other games (EVE, BlackOps) and same thing happened. Some of them the restart was very fast without a freeze. Also first time had XMP Profile - OFF. Then I enabled it and there was no difference. So I started searching the web. I saw that many people had problems with new AMD graphics cards Drivers and they suggested to try the DDU and clean install again of the drivers. I used the DDU for about 4-5 times and after each one I opened the games and got a restart again. Then I did RAM MemoryCheck with some softwares like MemTest64. Run it all night and got no Errors. Downloaded OCCT to see Temps and when I benchmark it everything seems prety normal. (I can try again and post here Screenshots if that helps) Some say is the PSU. I didnt try to RMA it because i just bought it but I can do that easily. I beieve is the Radeon Drivers. Maybe it could be an harware incompatibility or RAM wrong timing or maybe just bad temps. But hardware issue? everything is new ? Also I have to mention that I got a crash while I was browsing ONLY 1 TIME. never happened again since i disabled harware accelerator at my browser and malwarbytes.

Hey Techies need a little help. It's been a while since I've built a new system but I recently upgraded my old pc and I am having some issues with the GPU. What I had: Intel i7-3770k Gigabyte MB 16gb ram Gtx 1060 3gb 550watt psu Ran games in 1080p no problems. I upgraded my CPU, MB, and Ram. New system: AMD ryzen 5 1600 Asus B450 MB 16gb ddr4 3000 Gtx 1060 3gb (same graphics card) 550w psi My gpu in games was cycling between 100% and 0% utilization, visualized through MSI afterburner. The clock speed would drop all the way down to 300mhz. Sometimes it would run fine for a few minutes and I would be getting 60fps on high settings. What I have done to troubleshoot: Updated graphics drivers, full uninstall and fresh install. No effect Updated BIOS on motherboard. No effect Uninstall Nvidia drivers, swapped GPU for AMD rx580. No effect What do you guys think I am missing? Gave my old components to my son who is not having a bit of problem. The only difference is his computer has a 850w psu. Am I having a voltage/wattage problem? Thanks in advance.

So per the title I may have a RAM issue I’m just not sure. I just built the pc with everything being new expect the hard drives. My computer was working fine Thursday night, playing MHO. I shut it down over night and don’t touch it till yesterday night but now the pc is not booting, it’s getting stuck on D.RAM in Ez-Debug. I’ve tried moving it different RAM slots, using single RAM, I was able to get it to boot once by putting it in the wrong RAM slot. Any suggestions? Specs Mobo: MSI MPG X570 gaming Edge CPU: AMD RYZEN 5 3600X RAM: DDR4 Corsair RGB Vengeance pro 32gb (16x2) 3200mhz SSD: Samsung evo 850 250gb HDD: WD 1tb GPU: nVidia RTX2070 It does’t post. I can’t get to the BIOS PSU: Corsair 850 modular cooler: Corsair h100i Again everything was working fine before with no issues. Edit: I want to say thanks to everyone I simply had to clear my CMOS

So it’s a HP 15.6” Ryzen 5 (3500U) 8GB ram 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD for $477.06 like I said from Walmart. Now I only want to purchase it if I can get OSX iMessage ICloud and so on to work on it. I remember LinusTechTips on YouTube did a video about a VM OSX on an AMD and Nvidia Graphics Card with the great Anthony. Anthony said at some point they would do a follow up getting the iMessage and iCloud and so on working but I never saw a video on that. I’m wondering if that peticular laptop I could get that al working and if so could the forum help Me with step by step instructions for all of it, please? Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi All, Last time I have been building my own PC was good 12 years ago and to be honest I haven't been keeping up with latest things at all. I would really appreciate a bit of your help with putting this stuff together. TLDR: Easily upgradeable rig (in 2-3 years time) capable of running latest titles in High / Very High settings. Many thanks, R Budget (including currency): £1,000 (~$1,330) (preferably less and open to suggestions) Country: UK When I plan to buy: H2 2020 Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077, Star Citizen, Assassin's Creed, CS: GO Other details: I was thinking about building the rig around: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER 8 GB WINDFORCE OC And a 1TB SSD like: Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Roggal/saved/#view=YvyFgs) What are my objectives: Quiet No overclocking Future-proof - reasonably easy to upgrade in 2-3 years time Therefore, limited bottlenecks in terms of bandwidths etc. Doesn't have to be state-of-art after the upgrade (e.g.: happy to go for stuff which is top of the notch now but will be cheaper later e.g.: RTX 3080) Simple, elegant design of the case 16 GB of RAM (but perhaps more if it makes sense now?) 1080p at 60FPS/Hz in High / Very High in most games and 1080p at 144FPS/Hz for CS:GO in Medium+ What I need help with: Which motherboard to buy? Which brands of coolers to buy? Where can I save some £££ and where I shouldn't? What kind of RAM to get? When to buy? Is there any event that I should consider waiting for so that prices drop? Are there any big things on the horizon (in terms of tech) that I should wait for to make my build even more future proof? Should I swap any of the components above to something else because you think that it doesn't make any sense?

Hello, Is the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon RX Vega 11 GFX worth its price? I've Seen good reviews about the so called APU... It's priced at 169$ but in India it is 191$ (13,799 Rupees) [import taxes] Is it worth buying it in India? My parents won't allow me to buy a Graphics Card because they think that the use of a Graphics Card is only for gaming.. Is it a better option.. It's Cheaper than an Intel Core i5-8500 Buying a Core i5 would also make me buy a Discrete Graphics Card... So is the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G worth its price in India???

Ok, hello guys i am sure this question has been asked a million times but what is actually true. So far i have had and used always intel processors and before this laptop that i have right now, i actually had an amd graphics card with an intel processor. But history aside, what i really want to know now is what is best. After checking a lot of linus tech tips videos as well as techquickie i have had a change of mind about intel processors, and as i entered college and the waters of youtube rendering as well as graphics design and other work heavy programs such as 3dmax/blender and so on, i have to say linus videos made me think about the new ryzen chips. Now what i really want to know is how will amd ryzen 5 1600x go up against intel core i5 8400/7600k/7640x since these processors are about the same price range and my budget. After that i at first thought about SLI connecting 2 nvidia 1060 6gb asus cards with at first just buying one gtx card and adding another down the road, i thought of this after watching the linus video about more bang for the buck and rethought my original idea of buying 2 sli 1050 gtx cards straight away. Now how will amd ryzen 5 cooperate with nvidia 1060gtx and is it better staying in the "family". Also will i see performance upgrade to my laptop (i mean it may be obvious but for the sake of it indulge me) which rocks an i5 6600q with an nvidia gtx 950m 2gb ddr5 and 8gb ddr4 samsung? What is your suggestion on a moderate workstation/gaming PC. Also i would be using 16gb ddr4 ram with 3333mhz hyperx predator, as for the motherboard as you know that would depend upon whether i would end up using ryzen or intel and finally for rendering and 3d modeling how will the processors stack up to each other and is nvidia shadowplay better since its integrated in the graphics card support. Thank you and sorry for this block of text
