So, I'm a bit amazed that nvidia have issues with the 144hz and 120hzs. I been wondering why my gpu which is a 970 gtx fans have been going crazy; finding the answer here. Seems like the issue with the control panel is still going. So, Thank you for helping. Im not to worried as i will be changing over to radeon 6600 xt next year. That the thing i do want to know, if you have a AMD card which is the one you like and why? This may give me an idea what to buy for my next gpu.

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 MHz MSI B450 Tomahawk Max Corsair 650W Gold PSU NZXT H510 Windows 10 - 64-bit I recently upgraded from my old Asus 1070 Turbo to a Radeon RX 6700 XT. As soon as I put the new card in I noticed generally slightly higher FPS but large staggers and up to half a second between frames often. I've never used an AMD card before so after switching I figured out how to uninstall all my display drivers and reinstall Radeon drivers, following YouTube tutorials to optimize the settings in Radeon and Windows settings for performance, but little seems to have improved, and load times often seem much worse. Did I need to adjust something in BIOS? That seems to be the only thing I haven't messed with yet. I've attached a short video clip from Destiny 2 displaying two major stutters between the 0 and 3 second mark. Thanks for any help you can give. 603479102_StutterClip_Trim.mp4

I'm trying to play Far Cry 5, but most (not every) time I boot it up via Steam, it of course has to open Ubisoft's program to run. After that, my Radeon software is disabled, because the game claims I don't have an HDR monitor. I click on AMD Radeon Software in the Start Menu of Windows, and it won't open. Using Ctrl+R doesn't open it either. I have to reinstall AMD's software (usually with the Factory Resent option), then open and run the game, and it behaves for that game session (or until I shut down the PC, or it enters sleep mode). I have an RX 6700 XT. A google search shows a lot of Ubisoft FAQ stuff simply saying "check that your drivers are current." I saw something about shutting off Ubisoft in-game notifications, but I've done that, and it doesn't stop it. The only thing left to try via early google search results is to run Ubisoft in offline mode, but at some point I'd hoped to play Far Cry 5 with friends, so I'd have to be online for that. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Dear gaming friends! Recently, I have bought 2 XFX RX570s w/ 4gb VRAM. I was led to believe that they are in perfect condition, however, the salesman was a cryptominer so I am not 100 percent sure if they were modded in any way. I have tried them both on 2 machines with same problems. Both cards show a similar or same set of defaults: - They don't display anything with any AMD driver - With the Win10 default driver, the cards work, however, two very large bars of pink color pop up on the screen, about a third away from each side of the monitor - Trying to install the driver via AMD Adrenaline either causes a BSOD either before they install completely or sometime after the install. - I have once managed to somehow install the driver successfully and the display became normal, and I managed to run Heaven for a couple mins. However, a few mins after I turned Heaven off, the system BSODed again and I was left with similar things as before - HDMI does not work at all, DVI does what I described. What I have tried: - Using DDU before and after - Installing some other AMD driver w/ a 7970 and using that - Switching from an old AMD dual core w/ 2gb ddr2 SODIMM to a i5 6400 w/ 16gb DDR4 - Switching the bios versions on the card via the switch on the card itself (the model has a dual bios config, although only one card has the switch, on the other one, it's broken off) - Changing the card's bios - the stock one from that bios database is already on the cards and there is no other version available. What I have not tried: opening the card and switching thermal paste or something. Unless both cards have had thermal paste removed/applied incorrectly, they get more than enough cooling. I used 3 different PSUs, 450, 500 and 600 Watts. Booting off an SATA SSD, fully updated Win10s. No problem with other cards or any other hardware whatsoever. I feel like the problem has to be software related because both cards behave so similarly. I don't think overheating is the problem as sometimes the cards run for minutes without crashing, while other times they cause a BSOD right away. Any ideas? Thanks! Both cards display the picture like this:

I recently walked a friend through building a pc via text messages. It's using windows 11 and has a radeon rx 6650xt gpu. He updated gpu drivers and did everything he's supposed to do. The pc works great but the issue is when he right clicks on desktop; "AMD Radeon settings" option is missing. It's AMD's equivalent to nvidia control panel. He can't change any graphics settings other than what is in adrenaline software. No texture filtering, antialiasing, power management, or anything. Has anyone ever experienced this? I've seen some "fixes" on YouTube but they require going deep in settings, folders, registry editor and more. The person experiencing this issue has no knowledge of computers whatsoever so I don't feel comfortable trying to instruct him remotely on a method I can't test myself because I only use nvidia gpus

Hello all, recently I’ve been able to completely switch from Windows to Linux full time. The only main hurdle I’ve had is getting my AMD GPU to work with Davinci Resolve (which I need for school and work) which fortunately has been resolved (heh heh… see what i did…) by using EndeavourOS (or any Arch distro) and using an OpenCL package from some absolute Chad in the AUR. It works great and I’m superbly happy with it, however, I still have some caveats regarding Arch Linux. I’m still a huge sucker for Point-Release distros, especially Linux Mint (the 21 beta rocks btw) but I have no idea how in the world I’d be able to install the necessary OpenCL packages on a non Arch system. (Obviously for Mint it’d be an Ubuntu based system) Unfortunately, team Red has yet to release another AMDGPU-PRO package for Ubuntu 22.04 so I can’t just install the supported OpenCL stuff from that; essentially… my question is: is there any way to get OpenCL for Resolve installed on Ubuntu based systems or should I just stick with Arch?

I have a 1060 and Rx5700xt. I am using the 1060 currently because I am living in a place I am not sure of the power/ electricity stability and leakages. I get enough FPS in most games on my 240hz monitor. I don't have money now to buy a new gpu, at least for a few years. Which GPU should I use daily? I want to save one of them for the future as well. Just in case.

Hi guys, I'm building a system soon and wonder which card is better (both are the Asus rog strix 3 fan design). I want to know which one is better and if the difference is significant. I've heard that AMD driver updates made the rx 580 perform much better than before? I really don't care if I have nvidia or AMD card in my system. All I care about is performance, value and thermals etc. Take care, Pete.

i just came up what a amazing idea, a razer core runs at a 4x pcie 3.0 link, AMD radeon needs a 4x pcie 3.0 link to run crossfire razer core needs a thunderbolt 3 (type c) link the macbook pro 15inch has 4 thunderbold 3.0 (type c) mac needs to run in windows?! for crossfire support?! so in theorie you can run 4x rx480 or 4x a custom r9 fury. if this has been done already please give he a LINK! if you are going to try it, PLEASE LET ME KNOW (total price ca 2800 x 4x 500 (2000) = 4x220 (880) = 5680 usd mac + 4x razercore + 4x rx 480 = AWESOME maybe this can go in the wan show of today?! send to @LinusTech at twitter *YouTube link removed*

I currently run and own a AMD Radeon R7 200 Series for my graphics card, but I am looking for a upgrade. Does anyone have any ideas? I am not one to go for looks, because my graphics card runs in a server. Also bang for the buck. So if anyone has any ideas, I would prefer that it is kept around or under 300$. Thanks in advanced for the help.

I have a very complicated problem. I really need help fast. So I wanted to install new radeon 17.3.1 drivers for my hd7950. So first the old driver got uninstalled. I picked the right driver for my windows 8.1 build. I started install and when the "installing amd display driver" part came up it prompted me to confirm whether I want to install the driver or not. I clicked YES and then I get a blue screen. This happens everytime now. So I tried going back to the old drivers and the same happens. I just cannot install any drivers. Prior to install I checked device manager and the GPU does not show up in there. Everything worked fine before I uninstalled the working driver (16.32) and tried upgrading to the new one. Then I formatted my ssd and installed windows 10 x64. Now the drivers installed on that and I could even play games, but it was unacceptably unstable. Every 20-60mins I would get blue screens and reboots again and again even just for being idle on desktop. Also, apps would crash more than often whether firefox or a video game, or VLC. I updated my bios too, but I still get the same problem. I cleaned the RAM sticks, GPU and still no good. My whole pc is fucked thanks to my wish to upgrade to new drivers which is a universal thing to do. My parts are as follows: Transcend 64gb ssd boot drive 1tb WDC black drive FX8320 HD7950GPU Mobo- Gigabyte GA970A-DS3P Corsair vengeance 16gb 4x4

Hello Guys,I recently bought a new monitor: M340CLZ by microboardhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/M340CLZ-34-034-WQHD-3440x1440-1...So now I have the problem of my Pc/monitor not recognising the right resolution of 3440x1440 all the time, instead it sets 2560x1080 for the maximum. Restarting my monitor SOMETIMES works and the resolution automaticly snaps back to 1440p. Most of the time Im stuck reconnecting and restarting my pc and monitor in different combinations. (monitor first, waiting 'till the pc is booted up etc.). Most of the time I get it to work within 10-20 minutes (everytime I start my pc). So my questions are: Are there any known issues with this monitor/graphics card like this ?where does the pc know from which resolution my monitor is capable of? Does the monitor send the information everytime its started ? Or could it be an error by the notoriously bad AMD graphics driver ? could it may be that my windows isn't activated right now ? Im using the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor btw.My other system specs are:Intel Xeon E3-1231v 3AMD Radeon R9 390X watercooled Gigabyte z97 g.sniper MotherboardWindows 10 Sorry for any bad spelling or grammar. I'm not a native speaker Thanks in advanceBasti

I got my current laptop about a year and a half ago and haven't been able to solve my current problem which is I have a AMD Radeon R9 M200x Series. While in the settings of Radeon settings it says enabled the only game that picks it up and uses it is Civilization 6. I've updated it to the current version before and games still don't pick it up. If anybody knows a fix that works or what the best course of action is let me know. Thanks in advance.
