  2. Budget (including currency): around 2500-3000$ Country: Germany/Europe Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: All triple a games (God of War, Forza, Jedi:Survivor, Assasins Creed), Competitive Shooters and Racing Games. Important note: I play without Raytracing Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I just want to build a new Gaming Pc because i have all other necessary components and i want to pair the PC with the Alienware AW3423DWF so I want to get that permanent 165hz and an ordinary 1080p monitor. I will also work with undervolting. And I am a little concernd about the second SSD Slot at the back of the mainboard in this case, also I know about the lenght of this GPU so if im not confident with this I will switch to the normal AMD costum design. So if anybody could give me a little check on my build i would be very thankful. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3D GPU: AMD Powercolor 7900 XTX RAM: Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-6000 AMD EXPO Mainboard: ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I Gaming WIFI CPU Cooler: DeepCool LT520 WH ARGB SSD: Corsair Force Series MP600 Core XT 2TB PSU: Lian Li SP850 white 850W SFX Case: Lian Li Q58
  3. Budget (including currency): 1.500.00 to 3.000.00 Eur Country: Ireland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Computer mostly will be used to lern video editing and photo editing. But gaming is also a thing for me still. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): About a year ago i sold my amd build. In order to move over to apple co system. But now i have come to conclusion that i want to build another pc. I ams still missing on few parts. Like CPU, m.2 ssd Gen4and GPU +2x 1440p Monitors. CPU will be again from AMD. cuz i dont like intel :D CPU i hope to get: AMD Ryzen 9 3950x 16c/32threads GPU. Asus rog strix either 2070 or 3060 idk yet. And 1x gen4 M.2 ssd with atleast 1tb and 1x 3gen m.2 ssd for 2 tb Current pc parts list: - Asus Rog Strix B550-F WiFi - Corsair Vengance RGB Pro SL DDR4 3600MHz 32GB Ram 8GBx4 (i bought as a kit, not 2 seperate 2 sticks like last time i did.) - Corsair SP120 RGB Pro fans 6x - Corsair 4000D case Black - Corsair iCUE H150i Pro XT RGB CPU Cooler All parts bought of amazon. And rest of the parts will be as-well, since i dont need to pay shipping or import taxes atm. Would love to see any recommendations on 22x 1440p monitors, that has good colour and is gaming ready as well. I will ote any other recommendations too. These will be my games to play the most: OSRS Eurotruck simulator. COD, Rust, and maby some others i cant think about now.
  4. Please note : I am a beginner & winged it somewhat, due to the unbearable amount of articles/forums/vids telling me which was better, then having some state the opposite (such as the PSU should be 750 instead of 850, despite 850 being good in the long run, or which SSD is better) Budget (including currency): 3200ish Country: US Used for: Total war, Apex, Squad. For now mainly coding, but down the line development in general Other details : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yK7r6r ,would like to keep this pc for a while with the ability to upgrade later if needed, & upgrading from a G752vt (which is starting to show it's age) Question: The current motherboard supposedly has issues with flashback, default voltage settings, & that the current CPU fan will apparently hit the ram. I was wondering if I should just go for the Dark Hero (is about double the price, but I won't have to deal with the possible headaches) Edit : Regarding HDDs & any recommendations for CPU fan (Copy and pasted from answer below regarding why I picked some HDDs) The point of the internal HDDs was for games/files/apps that didn't really require the extra speed, while the external was for backing up files/projects just in case. My plan: SSD: Games/Applications that speed up dramatically Internal HDD: Games/Files that run just fine & would not need a SSD External HDD: Backup Files/Projects Note: Doing it this way due to me hearing that HDDS will have extremely longer lives (most of the time), because of their ability to rewrite over data, whereas SSD cannot. Please correct me if I'm wrong & this plan is a bit overkill Also does anyone have any good CPU fan recommendations that would hopefully fit, if they don't mind. It seems that the noctua keeps getting sold out
  5. Hey so my build contains: cpu: ryzen 3600 regular gpu: MSi GeForce rtx 2060 ram: 2x tforce 3000hz 8gb = 16gb total motherboard:b450 gaming plus max power: Evga 700 gold I have having the issue of when my pc turns on all my debug lights turn on. I try pressing the case power switch and nothing so I have to resort to power it off through the back of the case. From there I turn it back on and sometimes it will clear the lights then it won’t show video I tried plugging the hdmi in both the mother board and the gpu. I sent my motherboard back for a replacement and it still does the same thing. Why does it do this explain. 61100263043__1340D9F7-19D8-4DAA-8FC3-E5CD02F10629.MOV
  6. Hello, Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3bWgNN I was wondering if someone could please tell me if this is considered a "good" build. This is my first build and I am on a really tight budget. This computer is for really basic gaming but I don't know if this enough for a smooth gaming experience. Thanks
  7. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bh7NvV The build is made with two things in mind, firstly it must be budget. Without a graphics card this build comes up to 600$. I'll be using it for gaming basically, plus some light programming on the side, no design rendering on this one. That being said here's my justification: The CPU is cheap, reliable and generally very good value for the price. Couple that with an oversized cooler because AMD. Motherboard has the 990FX chipset so that's a plus, I'm aiming for a motherboard that I won't change in a few years, not necessarily this one if you know a better one for roughly the same price or a little higher cost. Memory is a single 8gb card because I plan on getting more later, assume the build will have optimally 16gb. I always end up using more than one program, also I plan on hosting servers for gaming with my brother and other friends when we do lan-parties. All I know (little) is more ram is recommendable for running multiple programs, which is something I do often. Storage: plan on buying an SSD later, but meanwhile a 2tb drive will be my main drive. It's not the best BEST but it's up there. if I go lower than that the price performance drops, but I don't want to spend 90-110$ on a HDD. Case chosen because A: looks cool B: It's coolerMaster C: convenient to use. Power supply might change based on GPU, ideally want double what's necessary. The setup is going to use two 1080 screens, using only one for gaming, two for programming and other activities. If I upgrade to 2 2k screens I will upgrade my graphics card too, although If I can get a gpu for a bit more that runs a game in a single 2k screen I would. EDIT: Don't care about those fancy shmancy new reality glasses the young'ings talk 'bout. If the card is capable, fine, if it's not, that's fine too. EDIT2: I'm fine with +40FPS gaming, even 30, I want it to be competent and cheap if possible, although if the card is legitimately good, I'd like to hear about it.
  8. Ok I just got done building my its rig with a ryzen 3 1200x and I have to decide on graphics cards I have two that are sitting around a hd 5770 and a fire pro v7800. I know the fire pro is not "made for gaming" but if it truly performs better I want to use it. I am also willing to overclock the hd 5770 if it is only a little slower my problem with that is that the lower vram I would have. Sooooo I need help thanks to anyone that can figure out this mess Ps I am including my pc specs in a picture
  9. Hi guys, I am thinking of having my first rig within a month. Yet, I cannot say that I am on top of basics of how should I pair up the components etc. I am on a limited budget, USD 1,000 including all peripherals. Below, I gathered a list on pcpartpicker, as seen the prices don't add up to USD 1000 because I left a margin for the missing ones such as monitor, case and others. As I am building this in Turkey, I also had to consider the price differences mainly resulting from the applicable tax. So please feel free to contribute. Below I am also listing the must-haves of my rig: Ps. I will translate the prices into the applicable Turkish prices. So 1000 USD might mean 1100 USD in Turkey for a particular build while 900 USD for another. So more the alternatives, the better it gets. 1. I am a moderate gamer. I don't play too much and my expectations are not that high. It is enough for me to run moderate-demanding games like Cities Skylines, Counter Strike at 60 fps @1080p, moderate-high settings if not ultra high (I am not sure if it sounds humble build or a good one). 2. It has to be silent... very silent. 3. It must have a good looking and for that reason I leaving a huge proportion for the case and the monitor in my budget. Any case suggestions? 4. I hate cables. Must have a perfect cable management. 5. I am also open to monitor suggestions up to USD 250ish range. For the build list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kNxYvV Please Note: HDD or SSD is missing because I am going to use my 240 GB Corsair SSD recycled from my laptop. But I am wondering if I should pair the ssystem up with a M.2 SSD. I opted for a 550W PS but not sure if its being a waste of money. My questions are: Can you please offer alternatives or if any how can I avoid bottlenecks? Again, please suggest monitors and cases that would go with the above system. Many thanks!
  10. Hi I was wondering if someone would look over my build and tell me if I will get decent performance in gaming I went away from pc all together for 4-5 years so now everything I knew is pretty much irrelevant. 11. Firstly, Hi... Just signed up after watching many of Linus' Youtube vids and thought this would be a good community to come to for some thoughts and advice. Unnecessary Info I built a PC when I was starting Uni back in about 2013, pretty much stopped using it when I left Uni in 2016 but recently decided to boot it up and see how she's doing... somewhat surprisingly (after re-seating some components because it was boot looping) she works. But not really anywhere near what I'd call acceptable in 2019. Original Spec; CPU: i5 - 3570k MoBo: Gigabyte B75m - D3H (This wasn't original, it was a backup as the original died and I never bothered buying a new one... dont remember the original model) Cooler: Corsair H100i RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16GB (4 x 4GB) @ 1600Mhz PSU: OCZ-ZX850W (850 Watt 80 Plus Gold) Storage: Some random HDD's ... 500GB & 1TB GPU: GTX 770 (Now sold and using a GTX 650 I found laying around the house) Never did OC the CPU cause the MoBo is too basic, so yes the H100i is basically useless! Necessary Info So now I'm looking to get a solid upgrade that's much more coherent and thought out than the previous. Usage is like: 50% Video/Photo Editing - 25% Gaming - 25% Browsing. Budget £1000... for simplicity's sake (For essential components & case, not incl. GPU/PSU) - Realistically though I'm flexible, I'll likely be buying components bit by bit (like £200/month) so if it's more expensive it'll just take longer to build. Realistically I want a base, working machine ASAP (3-4 months) cause I'm impatient and all that. Location UK... As you may have guessed by currency used in budgeting. Aim Though the bulk of use for this machine would be video editing, I'd like it to be capable of playing AAA games at mid-high settings. Though I'm in no rush to get a GPU so happy to get like a £200 GPU then upgrade further down the line on that one. Monitors Currently only running one 1080p monitor, in no rush to upgrade it just yet but I will be shopping around. Probably looking at a 4K colour accurate ~27" monitor for video editing. Peripherals Dont *need* to upgrade peripherals but after the PC is built I'll be looking at Corsair M65 Elite mouse and Corsair K70 MK.2 Keyboard. WHY? A few reasons, the machine is fairly outdated in general. My Mobo is useless so I can't OC, and Mobo's with this socket are hard to get and probably a waste of money at this point. So if I buy a new MoBo I'll need a new CPU anyway, and DDR4 RAM, I'd want an SSD cause obvious reasons (I don't want to use my old drives in-case I downloaded anything dodgy on them. My case used to be white but has now yellowed so that needs an update. I believe the PSU is fine though to be honest, I never really overworked this machine too hard, and it's been sitting dormant for a long time so I'm fairly confident I can continue using my existing PSU. Until I need more power of course. So yeah, may as well build a practically whole new machine. BONUS I want this thing to look the shit, like most people would I imagine. So I'm pretty bought into the Corsair RGB eco-system (LL120 fans and the RGB peripherals) mixed with the Asus 'eco-system' (Essentially I've primarily been looking at Asus boards) So based on all that - I've come up with the following components in the attached picture. Not yet decided on a GPU. Ultimately I'd probably invest in an RTX 2080ti if and when I can afford one. For now I'll take recommendations on a like ~£200 card that'll hopefully allow me to play AAA titles at mid-high settings. Sooooooooo... thoughts? Oh yeah, I already bought the RAM cause it seemed a good price on Amazon...
  12. I am planning an AMD build. I am looking for a mid-range system, built around a Ryzen 5 3600 and RX 5700. My budget is around $900 (regional equivalent). I'll be using it for work in Blender 3D (modeling, texturing, animation), Unreal Engine 4, gaming (1080p), video editing, and screen capture. I am not interested in overclocking for the time being. I have some questions: - Contrasting the RX 5700 with the RX 5700 XT, I can see that the XT is the superior card. But where I live, the XT costs 24% more. At that price, it seems like a sub-optimal deal. How much do I miss out by choosing the RX 5700 over the RX 5700 XT? Which one is the better upgrade to the GTX 1060 6GB (my current GPU)? Is there any reason to opt for the Nvidia equivalent (RTX 2060)? - Is the B450 a good motherboard for this system? If not, which one would you recommend? - What kind of RAM is optimal? Is 16GB enough? - Which case and PSU would you recommend, and what are the ideal PSU specs I should be looking for? (I am not interested in RGB, just a stable case with decent cooling) - From what I've seen online, it seems as though the Ryzen 5 3600X is not worth the ~$50 difference over the vanilla 3600. Is it? Tech Deals crowned the 3600X as the "New King", presumably dethroning the i7 9700K. So I can't be too sure if the X is not worth it. This is the cost of the components so far (converted to US Dollars for convenience) - Ryzen 5 3600 -- $239.87 - MSI Radeon RX 5700 -- $430.54 - Ryzen 5 3600X -- $299.65 - Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT -- $536.56 Finally, is there a reason to wait? Is there a reason to believe there will be a price drop within the next month or two, and, conversely, is there a reason to believe that demand will eventually inflate the prices (like it happened with Pascal architecture and Intel's chips two years ago)? Katarn
  13. Looking to build a rig for around 1500$ USD excluding peripherals. I plan on using it for 4k gaming (Cyberpunk2077, Witcher 3, Competitive FPS' and possibly VR), movies, and photo editing. Possibly plan on waiting for new GPU's later this year I'm in no rush as I'm still saving. Can anyone Huck me some build ideas that feature AMD's new lineup? Thanks again LTT community!
  14. Alright, So here's my question of the hour a lot of my friends have been hounding me about getting "more cores" for my system and It's been a few years. I've been living overseas and haven't had much in the way of upgrading I managed to snag a Devils Canyon for cheap off of ebay and subsequently the same with my motherboard. But with tax returns on the horizon in the U.S. I'm wondering if I should just do a full modern system upgrade but I want it to be more effective for editing YouTube videos and making content. So my question is basically should I keep my current system or just build a new rig but keep my core components. Current system CPU: Intel 4790K (Soon to be OC'd to 4.8ghz) Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87 OC RAM: 2400mhz 32gb Team Group Boot Drive: Gigabyte 500gb SSD SATA III GPU: Gigabyte RX570 8GB (Runs at 8X) (Runs at 8X) Game Drive: Intel 660P Expansion Card 1: PCIe MVNE Adaptor Expansion Card 2: PCIe Elgato 4K Capture card The current plan is just to purchase a 2080ti or similar and minimize performance loss by OC'ing the CPU to 4.8ghz to minimize the bottleneck. Bandwidth wise I'd be losing 3% of its total speed if my math is right because it's acting as a PCIe 2.0 slot in essence. My friends suggested that I just build a new system with newer RAM, CPU, and Motherboard in which I forego the 2080ti for a new CPU instead which leaves me with two opitions. AMD System CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950 RAM: 3600mhz Corsair Vengeance 32gb RGB kit Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Intel System CPU: Intel Series 9900K Coffee Lake RAM: 3600mhz Corsair Vengeance 32gb RGB kit Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 The biggest issues I face is normally related to recording quality I want to upgrade my quality of footage but not lose system performance. Software wise the biggest things I use are generally OBS and Wondershare filmora and I record at 1080p but I want to have expandibility for streaming down the line. I like the appeal of the 2080ti as their NvENC can free up my CPU usage for gaming to balance out more of what I'd generally use in terms of performance. My budget with my tax return would be around $1000 US since I make just trash in terms of a paycheck. What's everyones thought's, feedback, concerns, ect any information would help. Should I go a more core CPU? stick with my plan with the 2080ti and upgrade my system down the road? I really need to make my purchase count as in my case this system will have to last me for several years.
  15. Hi all! I'm looking into making a PC. This will be my first time stepping into the PC gaming world and I want to get a good starting point! With the help of videos and one of my more tech savvy friends I've put together a list of parts that I think should work together! But just to be safe thought there would be no harm posting it here to get loads of other opinions and thought! So I'm UK based, building it to mainly game (so long as I get decent experience on new AAA titles I'm happy starting here) I will be looking at future updates as needed. Component Selection Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor £217.98 Buy Motherboard Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard £218.47 Buy Memory Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory £69.98 Buy Storage Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £56.99 Buy Storage Kingston A400 240 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive £27.64 Buy Video Card PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card £360.79 Buy Case Silverstone RL06 ATX Mid Tower Case £69.98 Buy Power Supply Corsair RM (2019) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply £84.98 Buy Monitor Acer XF240H 24.0" 1920x1080 144 Hz Monitor £179.97 Buy Total: £1286.78 I do have a preference to AMD and the radeon GPU as the monitor is apparently more compatible with it ? I may be wrong but it's also cheaper and lowers the cost by a bit. I'm spreading it over 2 months getting most of the cheaper parts in November and then the GPU PSU HDD and motherboard in December. Any reassurance that this will work once put together would be mega or if you see any fault in the plan the even better!! Thanks for reading this time and bearing with an idiot! IrishGamer34 * Edits Motherboard: After going back over and checking with the motherboard I saw that the one I originally put in wasn't compatible with 3rd Gen Ryzen so I had to swap it out in favour for the one that's now in there. This will also allow for more room to upgrade in the future though to a better CPU * After looking up some reviews on it I found a comparison between this MoBo and 4 others and this did the worst so I now gone with the best resulting one at a slightly higher price but still offering a better upgrade path and cooler overall PC Case: I changed the case as it's a slightly better model, just in white, and it's cheaper by about £30 as well Monitor: There was some false information on amazon for the monitor about it being 144hz so I now changed it to the current Acer listed
  16. Okay so I am planning on building a new gaming PC - able to achieve high FPS on at least very high graphics settings, along with some light desktop/web/database development - but apparentley, my idea of splashing the cash doesn't comply with the market right now. Like anyone else, I would like to choose components that are still relatively competitive in at least 5 years time but I cannot bring myself to justify £2k+ on a build. So with that in mind, would a configuration like the below fit my requirements?; ThreadRipper 1900X 1080ti/2070ti at least 16gb 3200mhz RAM 500GB m.2 drive 1TB HDD (left over from old build) Corsair CX750 (left over from old build)
  17. https://pcpartpicker.com/user/NotBryson/saved/bVBV6h Hey guys above is what im planning to build soon and im fairly certain that for my pricepoint thats a pretty good build but im planning to start streaming and want to know if with that PC i could stream 1080p with a decent fps (Games like: Rainbow Six Siege,CSGO,splitgate,COD maybe) at like medium game settings or if i need to upgrade something and if so what should I upgrade
  18. I have already made a list of parts to buy off of Newegg. Any suggestions? 19. Which one is better? Anything I should swap out? Intel: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gJNzfH AMD: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gYQDq4 EDIT: I am will be using my build for primarily gaming but I will also be video editing and maybe streaming in the future.
  20. 1. Budget & Location I'm in the US, and I need to keep the budget for the computer components in the $1100-$1200 range to also get a 1440p 144hz monitor, for a total of $1500 USD 2. Aim Gaming, Video editing, the computer also has to game well while also streaming. 3. Monitors I currently have 2 1080p 60hz monitors, I want to upgrade one of them for a 1440p 144hz monitor. I don't plan on using more than 2 monitors. 4. Peripherals I have all the peripherals I need other than the 1440p 144hz monitor, and Windows 10. 5. Why are you upgrading? My current Rig can't handle the workload I laid out above, especially not 2k gaming. 6. Other comments: Edited because I didn't think to just post the pc part picker list, sorry about that. Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/X4HMV6
  21. I have a amd fx8350 32gb ddr3 ram M5A99fx pro 2.0 MB with a Geforce GTX 750ti gpu My main use for my rig is editing, streaming console & pc games and im able to get 720p 60fps easily after rendering but to get a extra bump in quality what should me next purchase be? ps I know 32 gb ram was overkill lol
  22. sorry guys i will just short cut this crap bc i wrote a lot before then it said (user not found) ugh so bulsh!t so to start it im planning an amd build i will be using the amd a8-7600 apu can u guys pls suggest a mobo for it that is worth $50 do u guys recommend buying an better cooler? is it OC-able? should i oc it? ( btw i want it to live long and perform well ) ( is it ok if its in stock speed and but better cooler?) will use 8gb ram @2133 or 2400 (4x2) 500w psu WD 1TB caviar blue nzxt source 210 or fractal design core 1300 is it ok if i spend $350 pc $250 monitor? can u guys suggest for a gpu that is compatible with my apu? btw tnx guys sorry for bad english and stuff ughh just hate that all the things i typed a while ago just got lost (linus pls fix :c) and what drivers to dl too hehe (will use win 7 but will upgrade to win 10 (32 to 64 bit)
  23. Hey there everyone, so i am having a bit of a dilemma. I just built my first PC and i'm getting no "signal detected" on my monitors. I have tried numerous tech forums such as toms hardware. No help has been given. All the fans on the GPU and CPU cooler are working, as well as the LED on the cooler. My keyboard lights up as well. The weird thing about the keyboard, if I have the GPU power to the PSU plugged in (both cords) the keyboard will no longer be lit, but if i remove 1 of the cords, it lights up. My specs: Asrock 990FX Killer Fatal1ty am3+ Motherboard AMD FX-8350 XFX Radeon R9 390 8GB GDDR5 GPU 16 GB ram 1600 Corsair H100i GTX CPU cooler Samsung Evo 850 500gb SSD Fractal Design define R5 Corsair AX860 *860 watt psu* Razer blackwidow keyboard Razer deathadder mouse (2) HP Pavilion 25xw LED monitors. I want to mention, i assembled everything in the case before testing it and have since then gone to the breadbox method. I honestly don't know what to do. I have done the following: Swapped HDMI cables Tried DVI to hdmi adapter Swapped monitors removed CMOS battery & switched the jumper removed the ram & left 1 stick in. checked the CPU, its in correctly GPU is in the 1st PCIE slot (have moved it to others, still didn't work)
  24. Here is my question what fps will I get in bf4 with this build? Also don't be fanboys don't say shit like nothing cus amd sucks or just get a Intel CPU. But if there is a Intel CPU the same price and it's a quad core please tell me. PC build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ffnR3C I'm hoping for 60+ fps
  25. My friend wants to do an AMD build. Why he choose AMD instead of mixing it up... I do not know why but here is build... http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sRB6f7 He's open for any suggestions... one thing is that he really wants that gpu and will not budge for any GTX... Except titan but he's not ready to drop the $$$ on that lol... And he really like NZXT cases and he really don't care about sound of his build. His budget is $1600 and it will be use for gaming and streaming and a little of editing.
