Hi, So i have repasted 4 times like in a 6 months period and i have even replaced the both laptop's fans with new ones but i see no improvement in temperatures. What i'm doing wrong? few things from side: - Using laptop Cooler - Vents are clear - Bios Up to date - Room temp not high - No virus or anything, fresh installation I can not under-volt because of my Bios update version with Intel XTU, neither under-volting works with throttlestop. So under-volting is not possible. CPU temps go to 100C even with loads like 10-30%, where as GPU is fine at 99% of load. Please help.

Hi I bought the Dell Alienware AW3423DWF and it is my first real HDR monitor. Before my main monitor was an IPS LCD (Asus VG27AQL1A) with HDAren't (which I obviously didn’t use). So I don’t have much experience with HDR anything. But I saw all the LTT videos praising the new QD-OLED panels and after some research and thinking, I ended up buying the AW3423DWF because that seemed like the best choice (at least for me) and when I got it, it was great. First off the ultravide format was REALLY nice, it took a little getting used to, but it was great and the same with the perfect blacks. But then there was the HDR, I was very confused because when I turned HDR on, it looked terrible, washed out, yellowish with the most bland colors on everything I have ever seen. My old generic IPS LCD monitor looked so much better in comparison, that i just couldn't understand, what was going on, so I searched and looked for wrong settings or anything that I might have done wrong, but I couldn't find anything. I did everything correctly, but it was not in any way like they say in any of the videos. They are always so impressed with how good it looks, how color accurate it is and how bright it gets, and that, the brightness, is a least a little bit noticeable with HDR on, lamps and shiny things does look brighter. So I am now asking here to get some help. I have some examples of the difference in color between HDR and SDR that I have taken with my Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. I tested it in Hitman 3 (Hitman World of Assassination), Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (PC) and Far Cry 6 and it can be seen below. I also have other games with HDR support that I could test in if needed. The difference is very noticeable, the top and washed out one is with HDR on, and the bottom and vibrant one is with HDR off. The photos might be a little off, but in real life the one with HDR on is very bland, dead and washed out, whereas the one with HDR off has nice and more vibrant colors though nothing crazy (like how the photo might seem). Hitman World of Assassination - Chongqing, game graphics settings are all max Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered (PC) - Rooftop in Chinatown, game graphics settings are all max Far Cry 6 - Montero Farm, game graphics settings are almost max Another thing is that all internet browsing is just terrible with HDR, so I have to turn it on and off, whenever I go in and out of a game, but that’s fine, I mapped a key to turn windows HDR on/off. However even when viewing video in the browser it is still bad both LTT videos on Youtube and Marvel on Disney+. I also have some examples of that again taken with my phone. Disney+ - Avengers Infinity War Youtube - "Elon Musk vs. MrBeast - WAN Show January 5, 2024", max quality My monitor and Windows settings are: “HDR Peak 1000” HDR mode on the monitor, HDR, Auto HDR and HDR Video Streaming is on in windows and I have no color profile. My setup is: RTX 3070 and Ryzen 7 5800X. If more details are needed then just ask and I will provide them.

Back in December I decided to go and buy myself an early christmas present. I had been eying the Alienware 34dwfOLED for awhile and noticed it was on sale. Sweet! I put my order in and waited patiently. About a week later it gets delivered to my door in my apartment complex and I open it up to find that it is full of bags of rocks. I immediately take pictures and get into contact with Dell customer service. They said they'll look into it and get back to me the next day. Two days pass. I contact them again. They state that the package was "carrier certifed" and I cant recieve a refund or replacement because the package was signed for. I told them I did not sign for the package. They told me they would get back to me shortly. Three days passed. I have to initate contact AGAIN. They repeate the same garbage as last time while wasting 3hrs of my time in call center/let me transfer you to someone who can help hell. Dell is now ghosting me. They refuse to respond to any of my emails regarding my issue and continually leave me on hold for 30+mintues until I hang up. 0/10. I will never buy anything from dell ever again.

Hello! First time OLED buyer. I want to buy a monitor that will be the best of all worlds. In the past, I have had Dual monitor set ups - 1 cheap and 1 mid range. I am now a single monitor guy due to space constraints and I want a single high end. Now my question is should I go for the brand new 27" AW2725DF or the sibling of the monitor Plouffe has loved for (i think) nearly 2 years. I will be mostly gaming - Mostly RPGs. This means I don't really care about the 360hz. My issue is deciding if I want new QD OLED tech or if the last gen is still perfectly fine. I've read a lot about burn in, but I've also seen that it doesn't really matter. If there was a Gen 3 QD OLED Ultrawide, I would buy that. I don't know which way I should go. Should I wait a few months to see if they release an updated 34" version.

Hi! I purchased my Alienware m15 r7 laptop from Best Buy in October, and for a couple of months it was running well. Then, it began to have very steep frame drops after playing for a few minutes. Where I would normally get 120fps to 140fps, I would be getting 40 to 60fps, sometimes lowering. Additionally, it often stutters in game, and sometimes even on the desktop, to the point that the audio becomes distorted and the keyboard will double type. Games that I have noticed this especially quickly in are Destiny 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Deep Rock Galactic, and Diablo IV. Some games run better for longer, Doom Eternal being a notable case of such. Steps that I have taken that have been unsuccessful: -Set up a new power plan for high performance -Disabled hybrid/ optimus graphics -Added a cooling pad -Run games at minimum settings, at low resolutions -Updated all drivers to latest -Uninstalled AWCC -Uninstalled Support Assist -Disabled SpeedStep -Disabled SpeedShift -Enabled Ultra Performance Mode I had already tried the above suggested fixes from forums before I contacted Dell tech support. Though the first ticket was marked "resolved" without having a solution, I called today, and spent an hour and a half on the phone with a tech. He took remote control of the PC, and none of the tests for CPU or GPU produced anything that flagged for him. However, to demonstrate, I ran Destiny 2, and though it began at around 120fps, within a few minutes it dropped down to 37-45 fps. He tried having me run it in a lower resolution than 1080p, which did not help. Next, he said that for Destiny 2, my machine would not be capable of more than 40-60fps, and that similar machines would rate similar. I mentioned that my 5 year old laptop, which has a 2060 card, was outperforming this. He said that was the issue: that I had a 30 series card. He said that all Nvidia 30 and 40 series cards are poorly built, and that as a consequence, Nvidia has worked with game manufacturers and Steam to limit the FPS in games. That is the reason for my frame drops. I don't think that makes any sense at all, as my brother has a 3060 that has no problem handling any of the same games I play (granted he has an MSI laptop build). He suggested that if I want a solution, I should contact Nvidia, Steam, and the game manufacturers to complain about having my performance limited. I noted that it is also on non-Steam games, and he asserted that Nvidia has had to limit many games, so it's possible all were affected. As for the desktop, Nvidia GPU being limited would explain the lags there, too, he said (though not why they occurred while running on the Iris integrated graphics). I had been using fn +F1 to try to get some better cooling after it first began to be an issue, but the tech also said that I shouldn't do that, and to only ever use Performance Mode, not Full Speed, as Full Speed would not allow for full performance. Has anyone else had issues with Alienware m15 r7 laptops? At this point, I cannot get a refund (or an exchange for the same model, he informed me). It was seeming to run fine when I first purchased it, otherwise I'm sure I would have returned it. Unfortunately I didn't run any stress tests when I first purchased it. I am sure that part of the issue is the CPU throttling, as I have failed every 3D Mark stress test I have performed (it passed the Dell 30 second stress test, however). The GPU has seemed to run fine in 3D Mark, though. Also of note is that the GPU power drops from 100 to around 50 or sixty at the same time the frames go down (measured using Nvidia performance overlay). I have to imagine this isn't just an issue with Nvidia, as it worked well at the beginning. Its descent into low FPS was gradually enough that I didn't even notice at first, until after about 5 minutes of playtime, my frames are down to 30 and my screen feels very blurry and stuttering. My specs are: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz 16 gb RAM NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3070 ti laptop GPU 1TB NVME PC801 NVME sk hypnix Windows 11 Here are some of the recent 3D Mark tests I conducted. Hello everyone! I recently got an old Alienware Aurora R1 desktop from a friend. They didn't need it anymore and since I don't have a Windows machine to play games, I decided to take it. The hardware inside is the following: Intel i7 920 16 GB of DDR3 1600mhz ram, 4 4GB modules ATI Radeon HD 5970 500 GB 2,5 inch Intenso SSD wifi card proprietary Alienware motherboard (+daughterboard) proprietary Dell power supply The case is not in perfect condition, with a few scuffs and a lot of dust, but I did clean the main airways. The power button is broken, so a replacement button and LED are fitted. The case also has side lights, but I have not been able to get those working as the Alienware command center doesn't detect them for some reason. Lastly, I have been unable to measure any temps of the PC, so most likely there is something broken with the sensors (as far as I can tell, the machine doesn't overheat). Performance is not great. While playing Minecraft the framerate varies wildly from 80FPS when standing still, to 20 or even lower when walking and doing almost anything. My question is now, what should I do with it? I have two main options in mind: either I upgrade this machine and live with the defects, as well as the old motherboard, or I sell most if not everything, and then use it for a brand-new build. What are your suggestions? Thanks!

So I just bought the Alienware AW2723DF monitor with IPS panel. I wanted to test the colors and backlight bleed with the build in diagnostic tool and when I put the image to black I see a lot of backlight bleed from all over the monitor. Should I replace the monitor for a new one or is that amount of backlight bleed considered normal? The reddish spot in the top middle of the screen doesn't look so bad in real life, but it still has a white glow.

Hi For three weeks i have tried to get the dell customer support to answer a simple question. I am wondering weather the french/english Canadian keyboard is in ISO or ANSI layout. Dell seems unable to answer this super basic question about one of their most expensive laptops. Do anyone happen to either have the laptop or have a way of answering the question? In case that would be very appreciated.

So my old workstation is using Alienware Area 51 R2 motherboard (MSi MS-7862) that having Soundblaster Recon 3Di audio codec. I running into sound problem with linux since first time I have the system, but I doesn't bother to fix it and instead using external USB DAC. Now since the PC is decommissioned as my primary system, I want to use it just to do some linux-related experiment, maybe some members here have the same problem and have the fixes. method I tried so far (with no success): Manually disable some setting and cranked few settings directly in ALSAMIXER (resulting on very low volume, SPD/IF working only on mono) Changing kernel from all LTS release from 5.4 to 6.10 (no progress) Changing ALSAMIXER to PAVUCONTROL (made even worse, no audio at all) Following some guide here and here Updating/downgrading BIOS and tweaking its settings Here is my system information: Intel Xeon E5-2650v3 4x16GB (64GB) SKhynix ECC LRDIMM 2666MT/s Dell Alienware Area 51 R2 motherboard (MSi MS-7862) BIOS A14 (Latest) Samsung PM981a 512GB NVMe SSD (Manjaro 22.1 Talos KDE Plasma 5 Kernel 6.1) Samsung PM911a 512GB NVMe SSD (Mint 21.1 Victoria XFCE Kernel 5.19) Soundblaster Recon 3Di integrated sound card (Windows device ID: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_1102&DEV_0011&SUBSYS_1028064C&REV_1009) PNY RTX A2000 12GB If you need any additional information, please let me know, any help will be appreciated!

Hello everyone! So, to introduce my dilemma I believe it's most important to state that I'm using a prebuilt, more specifically, an Alienware Aurora R12 Desktop. As a fair warning, I know nothing about this motherboard except for the fact that it is overclock capable and came from the factory with this setting activated. I have ditched using Dells software, exclusively using it for only fan control (because no other third-party fan control program works). Okay on to the issue at hand, enough precursing. I have been using Intel XTU and learning little by little as I go... The one constant issue I'm facing is that no matter what overclock settings I enter (even factory default), I am consistently getting Current/EDP Limit Throttling almost 100% of the time on load. I understand that my system does run hotter than most (due to the questionable case design) but I have optimized fan control to keep temperatures at a max of 80C-85C even in modern AAA titles like Remnant II. My CPU is able to hit turbo consistently as is, but I imagine there is a lot of performance left on the table here as it has a Max Turbo of 5.00GHz but never been able to get it there or past 4.80GHz... I can only imagine the EDP Limit Throttling is to blame for this. I will attach as much info of my PC Specs and from XTU as possible to aid, please reach out if you need any more information. I would really appreciate if anyone could offer their experience and expertise in order to help me correct what I'm doing wrong here... As well as offer any helpful tips that I can learn along the way! Thank you for taking the time to read this and offering any advice! *As a final note, I have tried using Throttlestop but I'm afraid I'm not educated enough on the topic of overclocking to understand what I'm really doing. I really messed up the CPU behavior at one point and reverted back to XTU out of sheer fear. *The Screenshots of XTU were taken while running COD: Warzone in the background just FYI!~ PC Specs: > Prebuilt Alienware Aurora R12 Intel > Operating System Windows 11 Home 64-bit > CPU Intel Core i7-11700KF @ 3.60GHz (Turbo 2.0 Max 5.00GHz) Skylake Technology > RAM 32.0GB 3200MT > Motherboard Alienware 0P0JWX (U3E1) > Graphics DELL AW2518HF (1920x1080@240Hz) DELL P2319H (1920x1080@60Hz) 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 > Storage 1863GB Seagate ST2000DM008-2FR102 (SATA (SSD)) 476GB NVMe Micron 2300 NVMe 512GB (RAID (SSD))

I have two NVMe drives, and these are its metrics My system works pretty much perfectly, I just thought the transfers between the two drives would be insanely fast....This is my first system with NVMe so I really dont know what to expect Btw my PC is: Alienware m15R7 i7-12700H Nvidia RTX 3070ti 32RAM *The laptop sits on a IETS cooler, so it runs very chill at all times BTW has anyone been able to download the drive manager from Hynix website? its been months, download starts super slow until eventually stops... I had friends in Korea trying to download it with the same issue.... Is that software even needed for my Platinum? Thank you ! I'll appreciate your experience comments Main drive, 1TB Samsung PM9A1 Secondary drive, 1TB SK Hynix P41

Hello everyone, some time ago I received an Area 51m laptop. Unfortunately, it only has 2x4GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM installed. I would like to upgrade to 16GB, but the memory is running at only 2400MHz. Is it possible to install faster RAM in this laptop or is the RAM speed locked by DELL? What RAM speed should I buy? I'd also be fine with removing the old RAM-Sticks if necessary. CPU: i7-9700 GPU: RTX2080 SSD: 256GB m.2 Thanks in advance!

I beg someone can help as I've scoured the internet and have not found a solution. Have an Alienmware M15 R7, ryzen 6 6800h, 3060. Was trying to setup drivers to use gamecube controllers and used Zadig and accidentally chose the first item on the list which evidentially was my keyboard or something that would affect it. Ever since the keyboard has not functioned at all. I've confirmed the keyboard still physically functions as it works in bios. HID keyboard did not appear in the device manager until recently when i tried the solution of replacing a non used device with the driver for HID keyboard, here is what the device manager looks like now other Things I've tried: Full windows reinstall/reset Windows troubleshooter Dell/Alienware troubleshooter Trying other replacement drivers with zadig in an attempt to revert it.

Hi. So I just got my new Alienware DWF Oled monitor, and I am noticing som weird artifacting in light transistions from dark to light. Where there seems to be bad uniformity. This seems to happen in most instances where there are similar transistions in brightness. Im not sure whether this is Windows 11/My amd 7900xtx or the Screen itself. Anyone having this issue or had it fixed? Am I just dumb? Thanks for any reply There is no picture that can accuratly show this, cus it seems it only happens in moving elements and dies down when freezing the screen(taking a screenshot). Again you might not see it, or only slightly. Just imagine those lines beside the video in a very exaggerated way.

Hi folks I recently bought the AW2721D dell monitor. Everything's working well with my system when I game and do other task. When I go to lunch OBS it shows a blank screen. Sometimes it will show my desktop with my mouse moving around, but when I go to lunch a game it will still show my desktop like it's stuck on the same frame from where it lunched from. For instance even when on my desktop when it rarely shares a display.. I mean rarely because it hardly ever shows anything besides a black screen it will show my desktop. I will go to move a shortcut around with my mouse on my desktop. It will show my mouse moving across the screen while I have a icon clicked moving, but I doesn't show the icon. It shows the icon still at the same place. Like I said it seems to be stuck on the same frame, but it will still show my mouse moving about. I have set OBS to lunch as administrator every time. I have switch display ports on GPU along with trying a HDMI cable. I have tried lowering my refresh rate from 240hz all the way to 60hz. I've tried disabling G-Sync. Uninstalling OBS. Trying Stream Labs. Driver updates for the monitor. Installing Alienware software. Uninstalling Alienware software. Resting my monitor to factory. Calling Alienware tech support for 2hours. I've unplug my other monitor to see if that was a issue too. The only thing I haven't done is smashed it with a baseball bat. I have a second monitor that works perfectly fine with OBS on the same setup. So I know its not my PC or Drivers. I have the AW3420DW pretty much the same monitor. Everything works good with OBS and Gaming... I don't want to stream or game on a 34inch, It doesn't feel right to me. I got it for workstation. Its mounted above my 27 inch that I got for gaming/streaming. I called Amazon to get a exchange started, but it's past the 30 day window so it has to be authorized by a supervisor. Not sure If I will be able to exchange it or not. Might have to buy another one and send the one I have back on a new return:) Has anyone had any issues like this? Anything else I could try or is it defective?

Hello! I just ordered a prebuilt alienware R11 from Dell because It was the only conceivable way to buy a 3090. I didn’t realize however that the aircooled 3090 dell ships is the short bus version and has kinda not great thermal performance. Does anyone know of a waterblock that would be able to work with this card or a place that can make me a custom one?? (Im in West Coast USA) Thanks! :)

I've searched for this answer between and I couldn't get an answer, but I was wondering if I could mine with a GTX 3070 on a Dell Alienware X51 R2 Andromeda Intel Desktop Motherboard s1150 PGRP5. Would the mother board bottle neck the GTX 3070 or would it run like normal.

Upon boot my Alienware 17 R4 searches for media. It usually says "no media present" and quickly disappears as it then boots into the drive. I have a feeling it is because the drive has bad sectors. SMART status puts the drive at 92% health, it has over 60,000 TB writes to the drive with an expected life of ~320TBW. I have since replaced the drive however would like to know if any others have run into the issue before so I can better diagnose it for other consumers. I found that using less than 700TB makes the drive far more stable, as to be expected if the 1TB drive has bad sectors.

Hi everyone, I just got my new mouse deliverd, an Alienware Elite Gaming Mouse AW959. It comes with 4 magnetic side attachments, two flat ones (left one with 2 side buttons) and 2 bigger ones with thumb and pinky support (left one with 4 side buttons). The side piece with 2 buttons functions as you'd expect, they are used for forwards and backwards. However, the one with 4 side buttons has them programmed as literally 1-4. When I press them in a text field I get the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4. I'd like the top two to be backwards and forwards, as on every mouse ever, and macro the other two for something else. This doesn't seem to be possible through software (Alienware Command Center). Does anyone know how to change this? Thanks in advance!

So I have finally saved up enough money for a laptop given I have kids and everything. My dilemma is I really like the color black but the only monitor for it is a 144hz with Gsync, on the other hand there is an option (for the white one) with a 360hz screen with Gsync. So I was wondering what should or would you choose if given the same options. Both laptops will have a 10th Generation Intel® Core™ i9-10980HK (8-Core, 16MB Cache, up to 5.3GHz Max Turbo Frequency), A boot drive of 2TB PCIe M.2 SSD, a keyboard with the following Alienware's CherryMX ultra low-profile mechanical laptop keyboard with per-key AlienFX lighting, for memory i went with 32GB DDR4 2933MHz, and for the GPU I went with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 16GB GDDR6, I know there is no such thing as future proofing but I want to keep this laptop for a min of 3-4 years as my desktop lasted 6+ years. So yeah So does 360hz feel that much better than a laptop with 144hz Keep in mind both have Gsync. Any advice or feedback would be appreciated. I use my computer mostly to Game (I don't game competitively) but i'm a tab fiend on Chrome, I used my Wife's M17R3 with Skyrim Enhanced Edition and it was amazing and her monitor that's at 360hz (no Gsync I believe) got hers at BestBuy . So i'm just needing input from this awesome community as guidance. Thank You TLDR: Getting an alienware M17R4 I like black, there is a Black (Dark Side of the Moon) model with 17.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz 7ms 300-nits 72% NTSC color gamut with NVIDIA-GSYNC technology and a white (Lunar Light) 17.3" FHD (1920 x 1080) 360Hz 5ms 300-nits 100% sRGB color gamut with NVIDIA-GSYNC technology, if you could help me choose Thank You for your time I wish the black one had a 360hz panel available with Gsync

Hello there. So I have an Alienware 13 R3 SL, and I’ve been getting pretty shitty temps lately (guaranteed 100°C on any game) with throttling ruining everything, even after a repaste, cleaning, AND with the laptop on a cooling pad, so I though I should undervolt it. I downloaded throttlestop, but it turns out Dell has blocked voltage changes on the cpu in the latest bios versions. I have tried downgrading the bios via some methods which I’m pretty sure I followed correctly but to no avail. Has anyone managed to downgrade theirs? Do you have any specific settings in the bios setup that allowed it? Cheers.
