I was watching the ltt video on mesh/non mesh front panels and linus talked a bit about the lack of airflow past the gpu and I realized that no cases i’ve seen actually solve this issue, seemingly due to the lack of an exhaust fan below the gpu. Would it be excessive to 3d print an adapter that would let me mount a fan (probably one or two 40mm fans due to clearance) using the expansion slot holes? This would be for my first pc build, running a 3060 ti and a deepcool CH370 for the case. I have most of the parts already. (i’ve never had a pc with an actual gpu before lol) (sorry if this has been talked abt before, i briefly scanned recent posts and didn’t see anything)

I have a fractal north air case with a glass panel. I have 3 lian LI uni V2 sl120 fans in the top (intake) 1 in the back(exhaust) and 2 140 mm fans in the front for intake (they came with the case) I'm also using a noctua Nh-u9s for my cpu. is that a good fansetup or should I change some things around? (I really want it to look good)

Optimal fan placement for the Thermaltake Core P3 Pro
AJ3M posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
for my build I decided that i'll wall mount my pc using this Thermaltake Core P3 Pro case. I was just wondering how I should place my fans to get the best cooling as possible if that even matters since it's so open? I have a radiator cpu cooler and 3 extra fans because i think that is all this case supports. If fans were placed on the back (where the wall would be since its wall mounted) it would be pretty useless right? Any help is appreciated, thanks. -
Hi, I haven’t been here for a while, but I would like to get some advice regarding where I should mount CPU AiO liquid cooling radiator. I’ve started gathering parts, since I’m waiting for 4080 Super release, I’m buying stuff one by one when some good deals appear, but to the point - I bought Corsair iCUE 5000X and HX1000i already and I’m planning to buy iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX or something similar (most probably 360mm anyway) and my question is - what would be the best spot for the CPU AiO radiator, in 5000X it can be installed in one of three different places 1. front - IMO not preferable option since CPU heat would be blown on other parts like RAM, GPU and MOBO 2. top - seems reasonable since warm air elevates - but in this case opposite to option 1. warm air elevating from other parts like MOBO and GPU would contribute to higher temperature in the radiator hence whole AiO and CPU 3. side (5000X has a vent parallel to mobo, right angle to the front) - shouldn’t directly contribute to rising other parts temperature nor the other way round - but I wonder if this wouldn’t obscure the general airflow and “consume (redirect)” too much of the “fresh (cool)” air which was supposed to come from the front to the GPU, MOBO etc. If I will not go with the 3rd opinion, I’m planning to install 3 fans on the side went the way they would blow fresh (cool) air into the case. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/pc-cases/cc-9011212-ww/icue-5000x-rgb-tempered-glass-mid-tower-atx-pc-smart-case-black-cc-9011212-ww Thanks in advance for your help! Have a Happy New Year! P.S. Other parts I’m planning to buy - please feel free to let me know if you see something “doesn’t click”. - i7 14700K (not F because I want emergency graphics or a signal source for second monitor (to see TS/Discord/Browser or something similar while gaming without losing FPS on the main screen)) - MSI Z790 MPG CARBON WIFI (maybe MAX) - Corsair DOMINATOR (probably Platinum) DDR5 6400MHz 32CL 32GB - RTX 4080 Super (most probably MSI GAMING X TRIO) - 2TB PCIe 4x4 SSD (Samsung 990 Pro or similar level WD Black I think) - maybe some additional 140mm or 120mm Corsair FANs - and maybe some single-sleeved braided PSU cables (Original Corsair or Cablemod) Thanks again!

I have had my airflow set up like this. The idle temperature is ≈ 40°C. Is this an ideal setup? Can it be improved if I add another fan on top? Specs: i7-13700K with Noctua NH-U12A MSI RTX 3060

Hey there! I am planning on changing my pc's case with the Asus Prime AP201 but can't figure out a sensible airflow. Would the one in the attached image be a good setup? I am afraid there would be too much positive pressure but otherwise there would be scarce intake since the bottom fans are only blowing air to the GPU.

As my rig is in a kind of niche under my desk, open only on the front and with some air at the back from cable cuts in the side and top, I've setup airflow in the reverse way : rear and top intake , front exhaust Rear was 1x P14 Top 2x P14s on an AIO 280 rad Front 3x 120mm TR TL-C12 fans I started with a standard airflow setup, but heat couldn't get out fast enough and the temp rose in the whole area around the case, now it can and the area stays at ambient I've also added mesh magnetic panels to filter dust back and top, that work pretty well (got 3 cats, 2 with long hair..) Problem is I need a beefy rear fan and the P14 wasn't that effective, it's only 1400rpm max, so I tried to replace it with high performance fan, but still need the rig to be quiet as it's in my living room Started with P12 Max, but the thing has an insufferable super high pitched wailing noise even at medium speed I can't get rid of Then NF-A12 IPPC, better but noise is still hard to stand at more than 1800rpm Thinking about getting a T30, but here (France) it's 40EUR apiece, would like to know if someone use one at say 2000+ rpm and what's the noise it makes ? Sure I can browse benchmarks, but dB level isn't that useful for rl experience, as noise perception depends on frequencies : my P14 full blast are quite audible but it's a frequency low enough to be bearable, where higher pitched noise from 120mm is usually harder to stand for me

I am planning on a build with the Corsair 5000D Airflow and I will use a 360mm AIO for intake (NZXT Kraken Elite). I am trying to figure out what to do with the extra 2 fans given with the case because I've heard positive air pressure is better. Should I put them both as exhaust? My GPU is an RTX 3080ti and I don't know how much cooling it needs. Buying an extra 3 fans is also maybe an option. What do you recommend? Thanks

Trying to understand fan controllers and such. Ordered a 2000D, misunderstanding that I could control fan speeds and not just RGB. MSI Afterburner? Get a Commander Core/H100i that includes one? I believe my MOBO has 4-pin fan headers so I should be able to control for CPU at least? HELP ME LTTFORUMS YOU’RE MY ONLY HOPE. Budget (including currency): ~1500 Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: not modern gaming, office work, video editing Other details: Upgrading from i7-2600k reusing 1050ti Mini Corsair 2000D R5 7600 ASRock B650e Corsair DDR5-6000 Samsung 980 Plus 1TB PCIe4 SF750

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): i7-13700kf Gigabyte B760 A MASTER DDR4 Noctua NH-D15 with both fans installed directing airflow towards the rear 2x Noctua NF-A14 PWM chromax 140mm mounted in the front pulling air in triple fan 1660 super from gigabyte (soon to be upgraded) quiet! Pure Base 500 Black case with 2 stock case fans pulling air out in the top rear and in the rear. Corsair RM750x 750W 80 Plus Gold I have just finished building my pc and it’s a bit too loud for my taste. Is there any way to improve my airflow configuration or is there a chance that the stock case fans are louder then the noctuas? I’ve set all my fans in the bios to “normal” can’t really go for “quiet” on the cpu cooler cause it gets really toasty. Would really appreciate the help.

I have an Asus WS WRX80E-sage se motherboard in a Fractal Torrent case, and just got a new Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 cpu fan. But I can't really figure out how best to setup the airflow, since the Noctua has to be oriented horizontally (blowing up/down rather than front/back), and the Torrent case has a top-mounted PSU. Any suggestions on how to layout the airflow for this? My current setup is 2x 180mm front fans and 3x 140mm bottom fans, all pulling in with no exhaust fan. But I can easily change all this around if needed.

Hi, after some testing, I noticed that my PB 600 has a terrible airflow, as I tried to put my motherboard and everything in a friend's case (with 2x200mm fans intake) and my 3700x ran cooler (40°C idling), now it's clocking at 50°C idle in my PB600. The fan setup in my case is all stock: one 140mm pure wings 2 at the front, and one 120mm pure wings 2 at the back. I'm planning on buying 2x140mm silentwings 3 to put them as intake at the front. What should I do with the remaining 140mm that is now at the front? 1) Should I put it at the top all the way to the rear to help my 120mm in exhaust? 2) Should I put it at the top middle (just above my DRP4's intake)? Exhaust or intake? Disclaimer: I'm not switching cases as the PB600 fulfills my needs (and I'm being lazy moving everything to a new case)

Searching for cheap, good looking case with good airflow
Brayan2063 posted a topic in Cases and Mods
Hi, after I upgrade my CPU(in a few days) and cooler(very soon) I should have an ASUS B450M-A II with a Ryzen 7 5800X, a Gainward Phoenix RTX 2080 GS, an EVGA SuperNOVA GA 850, an EK-Nucleus AIO CR360 Lux D-RGB and 8 EK Vardar S 120ER D-RGB fans (2 of them with broken lighting). Just ask me if you want more detail. I want to get a new case with good airflow but it has to look good and be cheaper than 130€ in Germany/France. It's also good if it's white or has a lot of space for cable management. (130€ because that is the price of a white NZXT H7, which seems like a good option, but still kind of expensive) I absolutely do not mind buying used, so if you think I can find something on ebay for under 130€, tell me. I would pay 20€ for the white colour, which means I will not buy a black, used H7 Flow for 110€. (the cheapest I saw on ebay) Any ideas? -
Hello everybody! I just made this account because non of my friends is sadly that much interested or has weird ideas like I do. So first of the system I have now is completely fine and I've got nothing to complain about but I like to change things from time to time. I'm currently thinking about moving to a much more efficient tower. The tower should have a sidepanel where I can put 2-4 fans for air intake. I saw that corsair had the Graphite Series 600T but I can't find any vendor (in Germany) for that. Other than that since I've got only one 2"5 SSD so the whole HDD/SDD rack is a waste of space. I could saw it out but I don't think I'm a fan of this idea. I'm also thinking about throwing my rbg parts out. As I grew older the flashing lights are less appealing to me so I would look for more effective fans but of course only if it really makes a difference and I can controll them over software (like iCue for Corsair). I'm thinking of some Noctua fans actually so if you provide me the best between noise and cooling I'd be thankful So I'm looking mainly for a new tower, secondary for new casefans. I tried to highlight specific parts for my main problems/ideas and also provide you some of my beautiful mspaint creations. I thank everybody in advance for even giving it a thought and I appreciate any recommandation you have. Also please be respectful and don't give me hate for some of my equip. I tend to do this all of my own and my friends only show minimum interest to the whole PC building stuff so I got none to debate with. So my current setup is this: Case: Corsair 750D Airflow PSU: 1000W be quiet! Dark Power Pro Modular 80+ Platinum Motherboard: MSI-Pro Z690-A DDR4 (ATX) CPU: i9-12900K GPU: Palit RTX3090 Gamerock OC (undervolted) [ 304 x 136 x 60 mm ] RAM: 2x 16GB Vengeance Corsair RGB Pro Soundcard: Sound Blaster Z CPU-Cooling: H115i Elite Capellix (front of case 2x Corsair ML140) Case-Cooling top: 3x Corsair LL140 Case-Cooling rear: 1x Corsair LL140 (1 LED is defective) 3x M.2 SSDs 1x 2"5 SSDs The "eggshell" colored once are the idea I have. The black one is my current setup.

Sorry to bother you guys again. So I just placed an order with iBuypower last night for PC and asked for a specific fan arangement. This got me thinking, if the arangement will be enough to keep a neutral to slight positive pressure. So I picked three extra case fans that each have a CFM of 75 and a static pressure of 3.15mm. I asked for 2 of them to be placed in the front along with one genaric RGB case fan (I can't find specs for) and 1 be placed in the back. The AIO cooler I chose is a DEEPCOOL LS 720. Should this be sufficent to produce a neutral to slightly positive air pressure in the case. The case is a Raidmax X603 if that helps at all.

I have noticed its cheeper than other options, but that also might mean it is worse too.

So the new Phanteks fans have released and they have a reversed airflow option and what seems to be a regular option. Do I have to buy both sets for correct configuration or can I buy the regular and get them to spin backwards to achieve reverse airflow?

I'm interested in your thoughts on this. Cases with restrictive front panels are like the Thermaltake Versa H17 and Deepcube Macube 110 shown in the images below. How do thermals in these compare with Open Airflow front panels such as the DeepCool MATREXX 40, Versa H18, etc.? Do you think it really matters? If anyone has their own data or Youtube reference videos on this topic, feel free to share.

As you see in the pictures, my PCI cable and RGB strip are hanging infront of the lower intake fan wich is getting fresh air to my GPU (rtx 3070). Is this obstructing the airflow to the GPU much? Do i need to rout them differently? (I honestly dont want to, I just finished cablemanagement) I also built a shroud for the fan to get more airflow underneeth my GPU. Do you think it helps much?

gpu fans Is it possible to change fan direction on a GPU?
Macrowave posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Does fan Positioning and rotation actually matter? On an ASUS GPU such as the RTX 4090 ASUS ROG STRIX graphics card, one of the fans is inverted to help with 'airflow turbulence'. 1. Is this actually effective, or just a marketing trick? 2. If it is effective, how much better is it over standard GPU fan positions? 3. Can a standard GPU be fitted to change the direction of the fan like in the STRIX should you replace the fan? When it comes to performance, every little bit counts. So is it even possible or worthwhile? An Asus ROG STRIX RTX 4090 . Notice the middle fan is opposing the direction of the other fans. An RTX 4080 Gaming X trio with the standard positioning for graphics card fans. Thanks!- 2 replies

I received a prebuilt not too long ago from the notoriously overpriced Dell Alienware company from a friend, the prebuilt being an R13 Aurora. I'm looking for ways to improve the airflow in the case built only to look pretty. It currently sits on my rug underneath my desk against the corner of my room due to my desk being L shaped, and my room temperature is always 21 c (70 f) or slightly higher on hotter days. The following are the specifications: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12400F 2.50 GHz EVGA Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super 8GB GDDR6 750W PSU 1st monitor: 144hz 1920x1080 2nd monitor: 60hz 1920x1080 24 GB DDR5 ram 23.8 usable PNY CS900 500gb, ST1000DM010 931 GB, and NVMe SN810 1024 GB storage 64-bit x64 Windows 11 Home and in the included picture includes the oddly placed 4 fans and the alienware "cryo"tech cpu cooler Any and all suggestions are helpful; I use msi afterburner to control fan speeds automatically with a curve; if I didn't, I'm sure it would go above 89 when playing intensive graphic demanding games. I avoid overclocking; and I'd say I do a good job of keeping my computer clean of malware and whatnot. (GPU removed prior to img being taken)

Hello everyone, I'm currently in the market for a new case and the new Phanteks Airflow cases peaked my interest, mainly because of the glowing reviews from Gamers Nexus and other YouTubers. I'm looking at the P360A in particular but it apparently doesn't have any dust filter on the front intake mesh. My PC setup is in my bedroom so dust is a concern. Owners of this case, or similar cases from Phanteks, how fast does the dust build up/how bad is it inside the case? How often would I need to be using my CompuCleaner to clear it out? If you have other case recommendations for a similar price, £70 to £80, then please leave them in the comments too Edit: as requested here's the fan layout, I'll be using the 2 included front fans and adding my own 2 exhausts to the back of the case. I've read that positive pressure is better to reduce the speed at which dust gathers inside so I'll be setting the exhausts to run at a slightly slower RPM than the intakes. Thank you

Hi there boyos, I was wondering if maybe I should slightly change my fan placements in my Fractal Design Define XL R2 Black Pearl case for possibly better airflow. My stock fans that came with the case has finally started to wear down, they sometimes start making a lot of grinding noises (to which the only solution is to lightly slap 'em until it goes away, amount of slaps vary...). Sometimes they also make weird wobbly noises to which there is no solution. So I have now bought three Noctua NF-A14 140mm fans and was wondering where I should put them. At the very moment, I have a pull configuration water cooler at the top of the case for the CPU with 2x140mm fans. Then three 140mm stock fans, one at the bottom, one at the front, and one exhaust at the back. SHOULD I move the bottom one so that I have two in the front? Does anyone think this would matter? I have several storage units at the front of the case so maybe it would be a good idea to make sure there are two fans instead of one blowing at them?
