Greetings community, I was simply wandering which is a better thermal paste, obviously right now the NT-H1 is a much better value, but is it better, as good, or worse than Kryonaut? Looking for help on what my best options are for replacing the fans in my Aurora r11 and still have control of fan speeds in the command center. Also if putting a fan in the hdd1 slot off a splitter is a possibility? Or what other options for more fan placement if any?

Help! My Zen 2 Ryzen 9 3900x is idling at 85c! My rig is set up in an Lian Li O11 XL with 10 fans: Three 120mm exhaust through the 360mm H150i AIO rad at 1200RPM, Three 120mm side intake at 1200RPM, Three 120mm bottom intake at 1200RPM, and one rear 120mm exhaust at 1400RPM. There's good airflow around the case and the pump in the AIO is set to 2700RPM. I set the power plan to "AMD High Performance" using the Control Panel, so my CPU is operating at ~1.400v, 4.257GHz. The only non-cooling elements are my AMD ROG Crosshair VIII Formula MoBo, GPU (Aorus 2080s triple fan intake), 4 DIMMS of aluminum heatsink RAM, an ElGato 4K60 capture card, an actively cooled 850W TT PowerCool PSU, two NVMe SDDs, a Samsung QVO SATA SSD, and the fan/LED controllers. I suspect the power plan is the culprit. I'm not much one for OCing or BIOS tweaking, so I haven't changed anything there. Is it the Power Plan or am I doing something else wrong?

I have a Ryzen 7 2700X CPU, which sensor should I monitor to get the precise Temp of my CPU? I'm currently using TDIE but it's always a HIGH TEMP?? Also, what is the TJMAX and how close is too close to get to it in games etc? I am air cooled by Vetroo V5 Thanks

Howdy there good peeps of LTT My mobo (MSI B450M-A PRO MAX) only have 2 fan headers, One of them is used by the CPU cooler and on the Second on I currently running a splitter cable through which I can connect all of fans but the issue is that I can't control there speed this way. In BOIS or through MSI software that shows up as only two fans connected. What I want is a solution through which I can plug all 5 fans in but still be able to control my fan speeds individually. The catch is the budget. I know that corsair makes an hub called Commander Pro XT but it's $50 and I am not sure if the mix match of fans that I have will work with that but it's out of question as I am not gonna spend $50 on that alone. What I want from you guys is advice in finding a hub that is a solid good reliable product but is cheap (As cheap as possible without compromising quality) and a good bundle of five 120mm fans that are quite and will work with the hub. OR I am not sure that product like this paired with any fan hub (I don't know which hub can be used with these) Will give me the option to individually tune each fan through software like "Fan Control" and if they do Please do let me know of a reasonably good brand that have a bundle like that. I don't want nor care about any RGB whatsoever so this will help lowering the price too. Would highly appreciate if you could recommend me products (preferably with links) that will work together and give me the ability to control each fan. Build info: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G RAM: Lexar 16GB 1600mhz Mobo: MSI B450M-A PRO MAX (m-ATX) GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1660 Super (3 fan variant) PSU: Corsair CX750M CPU Cooler: Cooler masters HYPER H411R Have 1 samsung SDD and 3 WD HDD in future will add a nvme Case: Corsair Spec 01 Fans are a mix of brands but all are the same RPM voltage and amps

Hello fellow Linusians, I have a 4907K @ 1.32 volts and 4.8 ghz with a 212 Evo on it. I turned my PC on yesterday and instantly noticed my temps were 15+ degrees higher. After a little trouble shooting it was obvious my Evo's fan was locked up and refused to spin. I had an Artic F-12 case fan laying around and used it to replace the Evo fan. I don't see any issues using a case fan to replace a CPU fan but I thought I would ask you fine people if there is any concerns. Top temps are virtually identical under my OC stress test at 85c and my idle temps drop down to 25c. Under regular work loads I'm still in the 50-70 range. Is there any reason to replace the fan with a fan built for a CPU?

Hello all! I've been watching the Ultimate DIY Desk PC a lot lately. Enough that it's what I want my next build to be very similar to. It seemed out of reach until I got VERY lucky in a round of black jack at my local casino. One fevered amazon order later, and I have a table full of components. I do have a few more pieces on the way, but this is what I have so far. I'm going for a black and white build, with all the major components being either Asus or Corsair. I'm having the cable done by CableMod, but those are estimated to being 3ish weeks away from shipping. Maybe @CableMod can tell me if the 3-4 week waiting period is actually a realistic wait time. Can't seem to find any info online about their move or recent reviews that include wait times. Anyway, I'm using Linus's build as a guide, but I'm not planning on liquid cooling. I'm hoping to use AIO for the cpu's (more on that later) and just use case fans to create a wind tunnel type effect without being too noisy. I'm also going to use some really wood struts as a support to assuage my sagging worries This is a picture of the bottom, with the supports gluing. Already seems to be helping, since the board was already warped from just sitting on my upside down chair during the cutting process. I also had the issue of my local wood provider not offering cutting of mdf. They said it was too rough on the saw. So I had to go out and buy a table saw and do it myself. They waited until I had already purchased the wood before telling my they don't do that, after having called to confirm earlier in the morning that they do. I couldn't even take it home because I was not fitting an 8x4' board in the back of my PT Cruiser. So it was added to a shipment order for that friday (4 days later) and subsequently forgotten. I finally got it Sunday after several calls and their profuse apologies. So the desk fabrication is behind, the cable measuring is delayed and I'm still stoked on this. I'm totally ignorant of all design programs, so this is all free hand with a few scribbles in a note book to make sure I remember dimensions. My overarching plan is to have my gaming rig in almost the same config as Linus, but where all the rads and such were, I'm going to put in my current pc and build it into a NAS. It's an m-itx with an i5 6400 and 16gigs of ram. I'm figuring on selling the 970 mini and using that money to get a sized piece of tempered glass. My new build is as follows: Intel i7 7700 7700k Corsair H100i V2 AIO cooler Asus Prime Z270A Corsair Vengeance LED 32g kit (overkill) Corsair MP500 480gb M.2 Asus GTX 1080 Strix Gaming Corsair RM750x PSU 2x WD 2TB Black drives My old build Intel i5 6500 Corsair H55 Aio Cooler MSI H110i mobo G.Skill Ripjaws 16gb Kit Samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd Gigabyte GTX 970 mini OC edition EVGA SuperNova P1 650w PSU I do have a few questions, having had varying degrees of luck finding the answers through google. 1. How probable is it that air cooling will be enough for this build? 2. Is SLI a good bet with riser cables? 3. Should I even bother with the mechanical drives if I'm gonna have the NAS setup? Thank you for reading this far, for all of you who did at least. I'll be updating this with pictures as I make progress. Any thoughts or opinions or tips or whatever will be appreciated.

I currently have a 212 evo that works fine but want to spice up the look of my of a bit with an nzxt kraken AIO with the rgb infinity mirror cpu block. My pc already has a reasonable hum which I'm convinced is the 212 evo. My question is will a kraken be quieter or louder. (whichever one will fit in an nzxt phantom 530, preferably the biggest) My thinking is a larger one can have 2 larger fans than can spin slower and he quieter??

Hello everyone, I have a rebuilt computer from IBUYPOWER and it has served me well for the past year. I have however found the stock cpu fan that it came with is LOUD. I am in the market to replace it but I want something small and compact.

First time builder here. I'm not a gamer I'm a 3D animator, and I liked how modular the p3 looked as well as the price. Almost done my build and did some digging on how to arrange fans, only to discover air cooling is a huge thermaltake p5/p3 faux pas. As a first time builder liquid cooling intimidates me and seems more expensive. Have already installed a coolermaster 212 evo anyway. so my question is, since I can't find much info on this, how should I set up fans? Is adding fans where the radiator would be useless? Bought 3 cheap led 140mm fans. Pls go easy on me.

Hi All, I'm new to overclocking and PC building, but have got my i7 5820k to 4.5Ghz and it's not crashing in Unigene Valley, Heaven, 3dMark Time Spy or Aida64*. Parts list is here: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/rT8wcc At idle, the temps run around 28 to 33 degrees. I've upped the CPU multiplier to 45 and memory to XMP profile 1 (2666Mhz) and it runs at 72 degrees indefinitely (over 3 hours so far) with CPU, Memory and GPU tick boxes selected (not FPU, cache or local disks). Also, I've pressed the physical GPU higher power limit button on the graphics card, I'm running the graphics card at 1100Mhz via Trixx, and I've upped the Trixx software power limit to +50%. I haven't changed any other settings, and the CPU core voltage builds from 1.19v to 1.243v in CPUID. I believe the core voltage is set to variable voltage as again, I haven't changed anything else. However, When I run the AIDA64 system stability test with every tick box selected aside from "stress local disks", the system will crash within seconds, hence the asterisk (*) above. When I'm gaming or running the visual benchmarks mentioned, It's not crashed once for over a month now.. only while stress testing above in AIDA64 with FPU, Cache and local disks selected . Should I just leave it be and be happy with the OC (and likely start gloating), or does the FPU or Cache test crashes indicate a problem yet to surface if / when I start encoding videos. All the best, ChrisDiz

So I put a regular fan on the side of my PC, I removed the lateral panel and just put it in there... Temps went down like 10 degrees... I believe it can go lower but I dont know jack about fluid movement and stuff... NO, I am afraid of water cooling, i live in mexicali and humidity is way too high and heat is higher,.. Later ill put a pic... CPU 65 and GPU 72... with the fan...

Recently watched a video by DIY PERKS where he talks about creating a Bellows cooling mechanism for his computer he built into a desk with NO fans ....is this feasible? How about a video there LTT and a follow up after you build it with temperatures

So i will be buying a new gpu in the summer(hopefully navi will come out), so i need to know what to look for in a gpu, so that it is quiet. My current GPU is the zotac 1080ti mini, and it is pretty loud. Quieter than a single blower, but still loud. So here is my hypothesis. 120mm liquid cooled gpu>3fan gpu>2fan gpu. I know that it depends on the quality of the cooler, but i think asus and MSI and Sapphire topend gpus will be good. I hope to be buying sapphire, so these are the 2 styles i will be choosing between: But which of these 3 will be generally more quieter and why? If you have any other info about what makes a gpu quiet also comment that. A: B: C :

Hello, I am planning to build a new system and I am looking for the most quiet CPU cooler. The CPU I have is Ryzen 2700x and my case is Silverstone sugo sg 13. Which fan should I get? Air cooler or maybe single fan water cooler? Which one would be more quite? P. S. I am not planning to overclock my CPU.

Hello, what mini - itx case would you recommend? I already have silverstone sugo sg13 but I have ryzen 7 2700x and I can't even fit stock cooler. What small case (under 20L) would be the best where I could fit at least stock cooler?

So I'm building a new PC for the 3070, but am using my old Fractal Design Arc case to save money (not to mention I love it). It's 5 years old, but the four 140 fans mounted within are running fine. My question is: Should I just replace all fans, or just maybe buy an extra and deal with fan failures as they come? Is there a rule of thumb here, or am I over-thinking it? Thanks!

Hey guys, Hoping you guys can shed some light on this. So for the past two years i've had two intake fans at the front of my case, 1 exhaust at the rear and 1 exhaust at the bottom. I recently swtiched the positioning so that I have 3 intakes in the front and 1 exhaust out of the back. Just wondering if increasing the RPM or voltage of the 1 exhaust would reduce the postive pressure in the case. And even still, does positive pressure make a noticable difference to both cpu and ambient temperature? Let me know what you guys think and thanks for the replies

I just built a wooden pc case, would appreciate your input on it! Specs, in CASE you were wondering (sorry for the bad pun), i5 6500, gtx 1060 3gb, 8gb ram, 450w bronze psu, 500gb drive (system drive), 1tb drive, and msi b250m pro-vd.(If your wanting to build your own wooden pc case make sure you ground your motherboard to the psu shroud from one of the Moro screws)

building a new Computer for myself and the family. so far I have: thermaltake Chasar A71 case (full tower) EVGA G1 750W PSU (yes I know it's a G1... (will try it for now, then possibly upgrade to the G2, or bigger should the SLI980 need it) Gigabyte Z170A UD5 mobo Cooler master H212 cpu cooler still to order (waiting on tax return. Sm951 256gb M.2 SSD in RAID 0, or I may just go with 1 Samsung 950 PRO 256gb. i7 6700K 16GB of corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB sticks (black), leaving upgradeable to 32GB. 1 500GB SSD scratch drive (dunno which one, doesnt have to be lightning fast, just a scratch drive for editing/short term storage before going onto my 4TB+ NAS, or getting burned. this will comprise the system and will run with onboard graphics until I build up a little scratch to buy either a 980ti (future SLI), or Titan X(single) with a decent 4k monitor. waiting on new releases from AMD/NVIDIA.

Pretty self explanatory, I have a choice between the Asus 980ti and the msi sea hawk... both of which i am getting at the same price I am a total noob as to high end cards and I cant help but feel a little confused. iv learnt a lot from linus on YouTube... but I thought id ask the community before making the final call. The sea hawk has better performance but Are water cooled cards as reliable as their air cooled counterparts? And at the same price which is a better bet? wont the overclock on the sea hawk reduce its life span? thanks in advance cheers
