Found the following cards on FB market place and was wondering if any of em are worth it for their rarity/status/etc.

Country: United States After many days and many hours of research, this is the build I came up with. I went with the Ryzen 7 7800x3d because supposedly from many people it's simply the best cpu on the market. Some might say the ryzen 9 but apparently something about it is better. I was going to do the 4090 for graphics card but then found that the 7900xtx is also very good and performs nearly as good as the 4090 but half the price. Also the 5000 series will release later this year and I will likely upgrade to that when the time comes. So the 7900xtx will suit me for that time period. I've looked at many builds with this case and they are absolutely stunning. Also the cooler, ssd, and ram are apparently pretty good. I went with 32g cus that's whats running really well for people rn. I have some questions, 1. When the 5000 series comes out will I be able to upgrade to it with this build or would I need to upgrade also the cpu and or motherboard? 2. Should I buy some reverse fans because I am worried that I won't have enough cooling in this build. 3. Also I've looked into the easy stuff on building a pc like installing ram and the cpu but I am clueless on everything else on where things should go and what to put where. I know generally where things go like the aio but I'm worried about where I put the cables for cable management and if I break anything I'll be devastated and won't know what to do 4. Would this build last me? I forgot but here's the link https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jQm9ZJ

Mainly want to be able to use this as a family gaming system. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Just wanted to get a sanity check from the group on my proposed parts list and if anyone had any input that may save me money, headache, etc. The parts listed below are above the budget I set (currently sitting at $3,156.83 USD) but ideally, the budget would sit under that 2,700 mark. Hey I’m sorry if this is the wrong sub forum to post this in but I’m looking for advice/help here. I’ve just moved my racing sim out of my bedroom as an old room in my house is no longer occupied and I get to take over half of it, I’m tossing up between moving my whole gaming set up with the sim, or running an active usb cable and long hdmi cable through my roof into the other room to run a monitor and the sim rig. I was going to use a powered usb hub for the sim and connect the hub to my pc using an active usb cable, the length will have to be about 25-30m which will be usb 2.0 I believe. the cost is fine because I can get everything from work at a decent enough discount but I’m worried that’ll be too much data to run through one active cable and I don’t want to use multiple hubs and cables. I’m also worried that running usb 2 speeds over such a long distance might create too much latency. if anyone has done anything similar or has done exactly this and has any advice on if this solution will create any problems or a better way to do it without going to fibre because I don’t have Linus money I’d love to hear it. I hope this was all coherent I’m currently very sleep deprived and am about to finally get to bed. thanks in advanced guys

I want to upgrade to both AM5 and DDR5 but don't know what motherboard is best for value. I don't need bells and whistles like Wifi, Bluetooth, RGB, Ect. I really only need a decent amount of sata ports, and least 2 M.2/NVME ports. I don't have a massive budget and I already have to save for the RAM and CPU, so I ask you legendary LTT veiwers and users what the best value motherboard is that meets this criteria.

Hi forum. I'm trying to decide between the University of Colorado Boulder and Purdue University. My major is Aerospace Engineering. I love both campuses and the classes I saw. Obviously CU has a nicer surrounding area but it also seems like Purdue has newer facilities. I was accepted into Purdue honors so that's a big draw for me and I'm still waiting on CU honors. If anyone has any experience with this stuff I'd love the advice/help. Which campuses are better? Does one offer something that the other doesn't? What about student outcomes and experiences not covered in their websites? Everyone I talk to at each school says they love it so I'm not worried about making a 'wrong' choice but obviously I want to make a good choice for the next 4 years. Hopefully it doesn't come down to a coin toss! Thanks!

Hi guys, I need some help here! In Japan, GPUs are usually 5-10% more expensive than in the state. I have an opportunity to travel to US very soon, so I'm considering using the chance to upgrade my GPU. Now, I have two opinions. One is that I found an all-new PowerColor Liquid Devil AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT, which is going for around $680 in Japan. My PC is already an open-loop, so this could be a nice fit. Another option is to buy an RTX 4070TI after I arrive in the US, which is also in the $650-$700 range (according to Newegg). Or I could go for an RTX 4070TI SUPER while I can buy it cheaper. My main display is 1440p 144hz with a 1080p secondary, and I'm staying at 2K for the foreseeable future, but I may upgrade to a 240hz display. I play e-sport games like Seige and AAA games 50/50 of the time. The question is 1) Which GPU should I go for? 2) How much difference is the performance between 6950 XT, 4070TI, and 4070TI SUPER? 3) If I choose RX 6950 XT, is it necessary to use 3 6-pin PCI-E power to run it, or is it optional? Any suggestions are welcome, and please correct me if I'm wrong about the GPU price in the state.

The price difference is only 15€ Powercolor Hellhound 7800XT (620€) XFX 7900 GRE (635€) I will be playing at 1080p with a ryzen 7 7800x3d. I wanted to get a Sapphire Pulse 7900 GRE, bit they're out of stock, but one concern I have for XFX 7900 GRE is the high temps and throttling or maybe I just worry too much. What should I do?

Currently I have a UPS which sits on the floor due to space restrictions. It's a CyberPower 1500VA. Bought it about five years ago and it has been great, though perhaps overkill. In my defense at the time of purchasing I had a custom gaming PC, though that had a 10th gen i5 extreme and a 1050ti so perhaps still overkill. lol My set up has greatly changed as I've switched eco-systems and now I'm currently employing as daily drivers and have for some time. I need a UPS which can support and fit in the following: M1 14" MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 16" MacBook Pro An Apple Studio Display (there is also an array of things plugged into the display which I've attached photos of) Apple Super Drive 2TB External SSD A MagSafe charger for my iPhone and Apple Watch (which I often use while working) A USB dock An old HP Printer A desk fan A pencil sharpener My Energizer AA/AAA battery charger A universal laptop charger (this gets used whenever I have a laptop which needs to be restored that does not come with its original charger, otherwise I use the original charger, so occasionally there is a third laptop) I need it to fit into a cubby on my desk with the following measurements Width: 17 3/8" Height: 3 1/2" Depth: 23 3/8" The reason for those size restrictions is I want it off the ground but not taking up any desk space or noticeable, so I wish to put it into a small side cubby on my L shaped desk. For that reason I was thinking of going with a rack unit and considering my CyberPower one has continued to work without issue, I thought I'd go with them again. I was considering the following unit: https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-OR500LCDRM1U-System-Outlets-Rackmount/dp/B000XJLLKG/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=6EZQQY594P84&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.A0cUP8zfZTSHPK5mT_pHFHXAum1bmtz96nin2c1_ZG63742obKs_cJrO0F5gHsuWLUrKqB5w1AesCU92uSF_KtgxJL4hGKrJOex4bwmJQ8XHCRMjc8T0xZnGilLqnsqNmnU6g197AQSkIC08biHzPME9HBW1x-2YdY2aXtnpCAestYtu4QSxQjZIiMvCg8Td-SP7FJflvQvI2lTkOfwmiXzLlZwolhqk9XMhfiug8Ok.hJvYW_2uO8EW3zxUNUmQLeHl_RBTyM-wJwM1o2WU3Mg&dib_tag=se&keywords=UPS&qid=1710887546&refinements=p_n_feature_browse-bin%3A32912132011|32912137011%2Cp_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A109332549011&rnid=109332465011&s=pc&sprefix=up%2Celectronics%2C106&sr=1-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1 My questions are the following: Will this unit be sufficient in making sure that my devices are protected against potential electrical surges? Will this unit be able to provide sufficient power for up to 60 minutes during a power outage? Are there better or more compatible options which you would recommend that I utilize instead? Note: The Studio Display image is outdated as it doesn't have the Super Drive or the MagSafe charger. The Super Drive is mounted so that when the back faces the wall the opening of the drive while hidden faces the right hand side and is easily accessible and the MagSafe charger is connected via a USB C cable and sits on my desk, allowing me to drop off my iPhone and Apple Watch for charging while working.

I'm really just looking for a good personal Laptop, I do a lot of traveling for work, so nothing massive. I do a lot of work in BlueBeam Revu, I'm an engineer, but i don't need a daily driver, just something I can pull out on the fly and make quick adjustments if needed as well as simple things like checking email and browsing the web if needed. Key point I would like to have include: USB C charging USB C Connectivity AUX Preferably under the $800 mark, but $1,000 is the budget A brand that doesn't start with a "D" Intel would be preferred for this type of work. I think that pretty much sums up what I am looking for. I have already found a couple that I like but I'm not quick to pull the trigger, as I have failed in the past MANY times to pick a decent unit. Both my Dell and HP units just... were lacking? The only one I have owned so far that I actually enjoyed was my Lenvo ThinkPad, but that was before I started on my current career path. Thanks in advance.

Hello ladies and gents, I am FINALLY this year building my new desktop. I've been waiting a long, long time for this so I'm pretty excited. Was wondering if there's any issue with using 2 x (2x32GB) memory kits from corsair to max out my RAM. I know I probably don't need 128GB, but that's besides the point. This is going to be my only and last chance to build what I want for probably a very very long time, so practicalities is sort of secondary to wants this time around. Anyway, here's my list of parts. I'm open to any friendly advice about any of them, but in particular I want to know about the memory question. Will 2 x 64GB kits (So 4 x 32GB modules) function as a whole 128GB kit? Is there any disadvantage to doing it this way? Looking for honest and friendly advice. Thanks in advance! I have looked around what laptop to buy, but there are too many options. So i was wondering if you could help me. My use cases are: running some docker containers (ex databases, and web applications locally), compiling rust and c++, modeling in FreeCad, content consumption, writing code. My preferences: linux would be appreciated, the price shouldn't be more then 1200usd, don't mind it if its used, Max 16inche screen(but 14 is preferred) Good enough so i can last about 5 years a fairly good keyboard I'm willing to go up in price if there is a good reason. Thanks in advance

I'm finally making my first GPU upgrade to the system I built back in 2019. Are there general things I should do before or after I put the new card in? I did buy a new power supply last year with the new 16 pin connector, 850 watt power supply so I'm good there as well. I assume the main things will be get the drivers for the new card installed but should I delete the drivers for the old card as well? I will be staying with Nvidia to hopefully make things easier.

I love collecting console games, retro, modern, etc. However I have a few concerns and am curious about possible improvements to the set up. You can see the wires, they're decently organized, but not fantastically plus the sheer quantity of them makes it hard to manage. Any ideas on how I can better manage/hide these cables, even if I should make a change in the shelf/stand I have a lot of retro consoles and a major concern of mine is that these electrical components are very old and because of that I don't trust them to be hooked up to power without my supervision. Currently I use a very large power strip which has a switch that I turn off whenever I'm not home and using a console in the set up. Is there a better way to go about this? Is there a better way to store the controllers, especially the wired ones? I worry that the wires are degrading as I wrap them around themselves and have noticed that they start to twist and take that shape permanently. I like things to appear fairly neat and be easy to get in and out. Any ideas? My original Xbox and Xbox One S need new feet however I haven't been able to really find any, someone know where I can find some? Is there anyway to protect my purchase in the case of a fire? Perhaps I could convert the physical library to digital in some cases and continue to use the discs for as long as they're available? I'm also looking for possible improvements to my desk set up and am curious if any of you guys have any ideas. I don't want to purchase a new desk as this one was quite expensive, but it has some size constraints and I was considering a few possibilities. A second Apple Studio Display. I always had duel monitors when I was a PC person, I've since switched to Apple Silicon for the time being. I love my Apple Studio Display, but I'm considering purchasing another identical model. The one concern is crowding my desk. I'd like to maintain what I call a messy minimalistic approach, there is also the concern of making my one wire set up a two wire set up for hooking up one of my Macs and reducing easy access to them. I'd like the server to be more hidden, but it runs Linux Mint so not everything is accessible in the terminal. I do tend to do most things via the terminal allowing SSH to be a great solution for most of the time. Is there perhaps some remote monitoring applications (free of charge preferably and not requiring an online account) that I could employ to maintain desktop access when required without needing an additional legacy monitor? I use the server to host my Valheim and Minecraft server. Should I adjust the storage of the lots of retro computers and parts I have? I use these for repairing/maintaining retro machines and am working on making some videos in regards to the equipment I have. I'm really hoping to minimize the cluttered look. Notes about the photos: I keep my RGB strip, Time Machine m.2 and usb dongle on the back of my Apple Studio Display, I've also recently added a USB SuperDrive (don't worry I didn't buy it new as that would be a total rip off). I have two Macs in vertical stands, one is my main machine an M1 Pro 14" and the other is an old Intel Mac from 2019 that I use only for Windows and playing some games that are only available on Windows. I use the shelving and platform to my right when facing my monitor to repair machines and stop tools and some software. The beige shelf stores more hardware and to the left of me in the photo is another hardware shelf. The legacy monitor is for my server and I'd love to retire and discontinue daily use, keeping it around only as a spare. Looking forward to your guy's recommendations.

I've been using Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000s for basically my whole life, and I still love it, but I figure that I should probably actually upgrade to a more "proper" (mechanical) keyboard someday. So, I've been idly looking for upgrade options, but I can't seem to find anything comparable. I use the numpad, the back/forward buttons near the bottom, I like having a proper function row as well as having separate media control keys (I'd love to have skip forward/skip back keys too), I even use the "home" and "calculator" keys relatively often, as well as stuff like print screen and page down. Obviously, it being ergonomic is a very key feature, but I don't want a fully separated in the middle keyboard, just the gentler curves like my current one would be best, along with the cushions of course. My budget isn't hard-capped, but I'd really rather not spend hundreds of dollars on a keyboard, especially since my current one is still working just fine. Honestly, mostly the goal is to find something as comparable to the Ergo 4000 as I can so if/when this one eventually does die I can get a new keyboard rather than scrounging eBay for a new used Ergo 4000 for too much money anyway. I don't care much about RGB outside of the fact that I'd love to be able to turn it off as much as possible at will, including even indicator lights if possible, since I find them distracting if I'm trying to properly watch something. I'd rather it not be wireless, but as long as it's rechargeable it's not a dealbreaker ig. To be honest, I don't mind the "membraneness" of my current keyboard, but that's probably because I'm so used to it, I'm sure going back would suck someday once I'm used to what actually modern keyboards feel like lol. So far everything I've found from my own searching has been missing at least some of the features I use on my current keyboard, often while being over $200, if not significantly higher. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!

One of my elderly relatives just had their phone die on them the other day & they need a new phone. I've seen alot of people recommended iphones, but I'd rather not suggest one as no one else in the family has iphones & i dislike apple as a company & want to vote with my wallet. The previous phone they had was a samsung J6. I'd be very grateful is anyone could advise on a smartphone that would be easy & simple to use for them.

Budget (including currency): 5000PLN = Approx 1200$ Country: Poland Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Photoshop, Davinci Resolve, Overwatch 2, Baldur's Gate 3 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi, I want to build a PC for my wife for Digital Art. Budget is exclusively for PC unit, so Monitor and peripherals will be bought outside the Budget. Currently using old Asus laptop that barely runs Photoshop, but freezes a lot and work is not possible thanks to that. I think 1080p would be sufficient but 4k would be appreciated. 100Hz or more would be helpful for occasional gaming. I have tried to pull some lists on my own, but need your opinion on it or suggestions for better one. Much appreciated your help:) Would be great if it had a open way for some upgrades in future. What is your overall option on this list as well? Shop Website

Budget (including currency): 3000-5000 USD Country: 3rd world country + Malaysia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Web, varied gaming (I love simulation genre), games development, Stable Diffusion, 2D and 3D graphic apps, multitasking multi-monitor setup, etc. Hello, I have a PC that I’ve built myself in October 2019. This was my first PC bought using my own money, my first PC that I’ve built myself, and my first powerful PC. It has been almost 5 years and it’s almost fine, but I think the time has come for a new PC. It’s already at its limit, especially since I discovered Stable Diffusion. I’m a game developer, gaming, dabbling occasionally into 2D and 3D graphics, etc. Varied usage. I will be generously donating my current PC to my friend. So, my budget is around $3000-$5000, although don’t take this into account, because I’m from a third-world country where everything is overpriced and I will be buying PC parts both in my home country and in Malaysia where I’m going soon. In Malaysia, I will buy the Motherboard, GPU, SSD, and Cooler. I want you to check out my planned build and give me some expert advice. I think everything fits together nicely, I hope. Check out my comments about parts as well. I want my PC to last at least 10 years, if possible. Here's my current setup: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core @3.6GHz I didn’t have any problems with this CPU. GPU: Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC 8GB GDDR6 Unfortunately, I had several troubles with this GPU. From multi-monitor setup, to driver troubles and no support for Stable Diffusion. Also can’t play new games in 4K, even some in 2K Cooler: AMD Wraith Prism LED RGB I guess it’s fine? But loud. Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F Gaming RAM: Kingstone 2x8GB DDR4-3200 PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 11 650W Storage: Samsung M.2 SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB Monitor: Samsung U28E590D 28" 4K@60Hz TN+Film Well, it’s cheap... Case: Mid Tower Thermaltake Commander C35 Had some troubles while installing the PSU. It’s heavy and big. Here's what I'm planning CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core @4.2GHz OR AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core @4.2GHz Honestly, I think 8 cores will be enough, but I’m a game developer, heavy multi-tasking, professional apps, etc. So I’m not quite sure. I heard certain things about 3D chips and something about their chiplet design, I don’t know. I think if I take a 16-core CPU then it will definitely last me 10 years, no? Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Elite So, I want a powerful but quiet cooler, I think I’m biased towards be quiet! German engineering and whatnot. GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming OC 16GB GDDR6X OR Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24GB GDDR6X Yeah, big difference, obviously, I want the best GPU, although I’m not entirely sure because it’s almost time for a 5000 series, plus a 4080 Super is coming. I just hope if I take a 4090 it will last me at least 10 years! Eren Yeager moment. I trust the Gigabyte brand, plus they have an official store in Malaysia. Motherboard: ASUS TUF Gaming B650M-PLUS OR ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-E Gaming Wi-Fi The only thing I want from a motherboard is: 2 RAM slots; 2 M.2 slots; Good VRM with a beautiful heatsink; Built-in IO Shield; At least 4 connectors for case fans, I don’t know how this works, unfortunately, I couldn’t configure this in my current PC. But I want my PC to be able to smart control case fans; And at least one USB Type-C. That’s it. I don’t care about motherboard size, I won’t be using anything besides a GPU... BUT The Gigabyte GPUs have an ANTI-SAG BRACKET which is screwed onto the motherboard, it should work with ATX, with others I don’t know. Having M.2 heatsinks is a nice addition. I think Asus motherboards look really cool, plus I kinda trust them as well although I heard a lot of bad things about them recently. RAM: Kingstone 2x16GB DDR5-6000 I don’t know what to say, I don’t understand anything about RAM. 32GB should be enough, I hit the limit at 16GB. I only want 32GB DDR5 with AMD EXPO. I’m thinking about picking up an RGB one PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 12 850/1000/1200W Again, I trust them. They have a nice feature, the only thing I don’t know is what wattage to pick. I read something about peak PSU efficiency, so I’m lost. I guess with a 4090 I will need at least 1200W or more! Storage: Kingston M.2 SSD Fury Renegade 4TB I will be re-using my current Samsung SSD as a Windows drive and this one will be for everything else. I heard there are a lot of problems with the new gen of Samsung SSDs and they don’t have 4TB options. Also, I have Kingston RAM, I guess this one should be fine as well. Right? Monitor: LG UltraGear 27GP95R-B 27" 4K@144Hz IPS I don’t care about 75/120/144/165+Hz, I don’t care, what will I do? Code in 120 FPS? All I want is a beautiful picture. So I went with IPS. No less than 27 inches, and no more than 30, ideally the same 28 inches. 3840x2160, no more no less, not curved, only 16:9, frameless design, adjustable stand, I don’t want a mounting bracket. I want micro-LED but I guess they won’t come in ages. I DO want OLED but I won’t be getting one, I abuse my monitor heavily so burn-ins are guaranteed for me. Case: Mid Tower be quiet! PURE BASE 500FX Again - be quiet! 4 pre-installed fans, lighter and smaller than my current case, better filters, even insulation mats I like it! What can you say about this build? I’m all ears! Should I buy max specs, or maybe I should buy everything else maxed out and then buy an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a 4070 Ti Super or something, and then just upgrade when new AMD CPUs and Nvidia GPUs are released? Thank you!

Hey All! I recently got a RX 590 Fatboy to replace my old 1050ti. However, the card is just a bit too big for my setup and has some serious heating issues. I was thinking about going with the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6600 EAGLE, since it draws a lot less power and is a triple fan unit, to add with that cooling. I am really trying to avoid a complete rebuild, so I am just looking for a mid table card that would fit within my current build. Any advice helps!! My current setup is CPU - Ryzen 5 3600x GPU - RX 590 Fatboy Ram - 16GB Vengeance PSU - EVGA 550 B3
