My holiday salery came in and that means I am buying a new monitor, and I got my eyes on the Samsung Odyssey G7 C32G73TQSR. I want a 1440p monitor, and the screen I have right now is $$!!§§$%%%%§§§" in §$§§§!!§"! and $$/$&&"% grandma $$§""§"§"§" and has TONS of backlight bleeding. So yeah I want a new monitor. Sure I do not agree with the 500€ pricetag but I will try to find a good deal. Anyhow, what do you guys think of the G7? My budget as I said- I do not want to spend more than 500 Euros. And if you guys think there is a better monitor I can get for this money, lemme know. Thank you, and goodbye!

I'm selling my old Surface Pro 7, and thinking of getting a Razer 14" laptop as a replacement specifically for High School and eventually use it for CAD in college! (I don't need a desktop because I already have a really good one at home) This is the one I'm thinking of buying! https://www.razer.com/gaming-laptops/Razer-Blade-14/RZ09-0427EE23-R3U1 It's $1,800 from Razer directly, and $1,900 from Best Buy. I've used Asus Rog Strix laptops before and I wasn't a big fan, and I won't go Apple, becuase I've also used them and am also not a big fan! I wanna know your guy's opinion cause I'm still on the fence!

So recently I bought new PC parts to upgrade my new rig, the new parts being: Ryzen 5 5600x MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Gskill 32gb Trident Z Neo I was wondering if after replacing my old parts and switching from intel to amd are there going to be any software issues e.g I read up that I may need a fresh install of windows or is it as easy as replace parts launch pc. Would buying a new boot drive be helpful as well? so basically im worried if there will be issues I won’t know after upgrading and would like some advice. Thank you very much for reading!

Hello, I bought a AIO cooler for the first time, and may I ask for some tips of installing it, tips that may be helpful for a first timer, and tips of maintaining and putting water in? Really really thanks to anyone who may give a bit of advice, would really appreciate it btw, it's ARGB, and $40 from my local PC shop (Philippines)

Hello dear Linutians, im have recently updated my PC. Well actually it was more of a new build. I am now using a Ryzen 9 5900x witch I have previously overclocked to 4,6 GHz All Cores with a Voltage of 1.3V. I also have a high power draw RAM kit with 32gb at 3600Mhz and CL14. As a Graphics card I am using a RTX 3080ti Ventus 3x. min the PC there are two M.2 Ssds and two normal ssds. That’s basically it. At the moment I am using my old 750Watt power supply. I am a bit afraid though, that I might be stressing it with the components and the overclock. There is also the issue, that the power supply was migrated from the old Pc. So its about 6 years old now. It’s an EVGA Super Nova. Die to that feat I downclocked the CPU again. now I am in the process of ordering the new Fractal Design Torrent case for better airflow to better support my hardware since I was using a NZXT H440 (nice acoustics, but hot as hell). And since I will be taking out all of my components I thought I could also upgrade the power supply. What are your thoughts, what kind of wattage would be good to be able to keep my high overclock and maybe have some headroom to overclock the GPU? budget wise I would say that I would be willing to spend up to 300€ for a power supply. Although less is always better. Higher efficiency is of course always welcome. thanks in advance and greetings from Germany, Dimitri

Ahoy there LTT forum! Looking to upgrade to a 4090 with the new release, provided I can get my hands on one, & need to know how tf to tell if my PSU is actually ATX 3.0 so I don't *literally die*. (Thanks Jay, Steve & Apple) I'm assuming that it says ATX# somewhere on new listings. But during the pandemic I grabbed what I could with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015YEI7LK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Which looking at it now appears to be an older version (first available in 2016) but also appears in this TQ video. So I'm a bit confused. So, TL;DR Is the one I have ATX 3.0? (Guessing not,) How do I tell on newer listings? Should I get a new one so my house doesn't burn down? And do you have any recommendations? Much appreciated! :D

Hey, recently I've been planning to upgrade both my GPU and CPU. The ones I have currently are the following: GPU - RX 570, CPU - R5 2600. The two replacements that appeal to me the most are RX 6600 paired up with R5 5600X. I intend to upgrade these a few months apart. Do you think if I upgrade the GPU first, would there be any bottlenecks? Should I upgrade the CPU first? Not really an expert on tech, that's why I'm looking for some advices.

Yo, first timer here. 1. Budget & Location My budget is around $500 US. In Florida, if I need to get more specific about it. I have a few parts that I'm looking to scavenge from my old pc, so they don't have to be included into the budget, provided the new parts will accommodate them. 16X DVD +/- RW DRIVE 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM (2x2 GB) 1333 N-ECC (I believe it's a 240 pin) 500 GB Western Digital (7200 RPM) NCQ serial ATA Hard Drive w/ 16MB Data burst cache I'd like to add/replace the hard drive and ram in the future after my pc is up and running, so some advice on that would be much welcomed. 2. Aim My aim is to build a gaming pc. It would be great if I was able to play those new high end games with a min of 30 fps, but I'll primarily be playing mobas, such as Smite. I'd like to be able to stream as well, so it'd be nice if the system permitted me plugging in a capture card or whatever later on. The family got surprisingly enthusiastic about the matter when I talked about building myself a new pc, so I'd like it if the case had a see through panel of some sort, so that I could show off the inner workings without taking it off. 3. Monitors My old monitor, a Samsung SyncMaster SA350 (1920x1080 resolution), is still in good working condition, so I'll be using that. It would be nice if I had the option of adding more monitors later on, but it is definitely not a requirement. 4. Peripherals I'll likely have to get a new keyboard, mouse, and OS but there is no need to include that in the budget. Though I'd love to hear about the feasibility of using the windows OS already on my hard drive for my new system. None of the popular pc building youtubers talk about it, as far as I know, but what I've researched on the matter is rather mixed. 5. Why are you upgrading? The integrated graphics card on my previous pc, a gift, died. No display at all. I figured I'd just buy a better graphics card and pop it in there but, as I'm sure you experienced users know, I quickly realized it wasn't that simple upon further research.

Hello and thanks for reading im building my 1st computer in over ten years and alot has changed since i last go my head in and built a rig from ground up im looking at spending about £1200 extra and no room in the budget for any more ive already picked out some parts i would like to use but need help, with mainly the motherboard, already ive brought a corsair 750 modular powersupply and ordered a Corsair carbide air 540 ( an older case but i love the look of it) i would like to have in this system, but im very open to changing things out if people think there is somthing better out there at the same price point: a samsung 750evo 500gb sata drive £129.99 or an equlivant m.2 around the same price ( just for my os and reg games a toshiba 3tb 7200 hdd £79.99 (2 more might be added at a later date) intel i7 7700k £330 ( i will be over clocking) 16gb of ballistix sport ddr4 ram £145 Asus gtx1060 Rog Strix 6gb £299.99 (prices off amazon.co.uk) i would of liked it water cooled even if it was just and aio system and i have been trying to decided between msi z270 m7 or the asus strix z270e both are good boards from what i can see the asus board is cheaper and would match the gpu but the msi has more fetures and some pre installed oc profiles to keep the wife happy it will need to have rgb lighting in and needs to be easy to turn off when its not in use this will be used for gaming and eventuly upgraded to a 1080 (just need to save some more funds but have 2 kids that need shoes, like all the time) i will but running it on my current moniter a lg 21:9 with the addition of 2 samsung 19" (older dvi) moniters. this system will also be used for some light programing as im getting back in to it and also some 3d renderings that my wife will be doing i would very much like some feed back, comments on what to change, which motherboard to get and if there is any major changes that would be better or cheaper

Hey guys I'm having trouble deciding on what 4k monitor to get for myself. I need something that I can colour grade as professionally as possible on, whilst still being okay for gaming in games like Overwatch (not on a pro level). My budget is under $1500 AUD. This monitor will mostly be used for gaming and video editing. I'm currently looking at these: https://www.mwave.com.au/product/samsung-u32e850r-32-4k-uhd-freesync-monitor-ab66406 https://www.mwave.com.au/product/benq-bl3201pt-32-4k-uhd-ips-professional-monitor-ab59409#detailTabs=tabOverview https://www.mwave.com.au/product/acer-predator-xb321hk-32-4k-uhd-gsync-ips-gaming-monitor-ab91205?utm_source=getprice&utm_medium=cpc#detailTabs=tabOverview What do you guys think? Thanks for any advice!

Hey everyone, not sure where to post this but looking for some advice. I have a pretty cool benefit at my current job that allows me to spend up to X amount on a computer for personal use. Only issue is they are not allowing me to buy parts. So no building my own this time around. Is there a good company that I should be looking to that doesn't cheap out on various parts to keep the cost down? I'm a bit "aged" I guess, and the issue if I remember correctly was that pre-builds typically cheapen out on motherboards or power supplies etc to keep costs in check on their builds. Maybe that's not the case anymore? What's the one company everyone here loves that is a good one to support?

Hello! I am back with another high end PC build and this time, I have an odd requirement. This requirement is along the lines of the 7 gamers 1 cpu, but I don't have 30,000 to shell out. I'm hoping with the reveal of threadripper, this is more plausible then ever before. So, the reason/purpose. I have a lot of kids. I need to power atleast 5 gaming / workstation terminals; preferably running an OS with maximum game support (I assume any windows over 7, I would love if linux could do it, and if the WINE game is strong, then i'm all for it. But this hasn't been my experience as of a few years back, despite a lot of steam games supporting.). If affordable, and in budget, i'd like to power 8 gaming / workstation terminals. I believe the resolution i'm going for will be 1440~, and if not possible with reasonable hardware, 1200~ would suffice. So with all of that said, I'd love your guys thoughts on this, as I am not entirely sure what I can get away with, where I should save money, where I should splurge. I am thinking to spend 5,000-10,000, and if possible, as low on that spectrum as feasible while not skimping/cutting too many corners. Background: I have 7 kids, 1 on the way; atleast 5 of them need to be able to use this system, and it should be assumed atleast 5 will be using it at any given time. The reason I mentioned 8, is because, well, I'd like to keep this thing in repair and just casually update it every couple of years, and try to get maybe 6-8 years out of this machine. Which means my younger children will be using it sooner then later. I think using virtualization is how Linus & Team did theirs, and that is appealing to me as well. Kids computers get infected all the time, and being able to throw away the container and have some vagrant style install script for windows & common apps to keep those things in good shape would be very convenient. I started with tablets for them, then laptops; and while I've tried my best, their tablets didn't last long and keeping their laptops in repair has been a challenge. DC ports, batteries, chargers, etc. In addition to that they're getting to the age when I got my first real desktop powerhouse, and I think they'd appreciate the juice. (My wife and oldest son/daughter have been playing with UE4. My wife's computer can keep up, their laptops can't even launch it) Anywho, please let me know if any additional information is required; this is very preliminary at the moment, but that's just because I'm not sure if it's realistic or reasonable on a budget. Thank you so much for your time, consideration and thoughts !

heres my situation: after saving money for a small eternity i purchased from newegg.ca: msi z270 gaming plus motherboard 8gb x2 2400mhz ripjaws g.skill gtx 1070 i7-7700k wd blue 1tb corsair cx500 after reading the instructions and watching a few videos i put it together carefully putting in the cpu, thermal paste, getting the cooler on the cpu and everything else. i get windows 10 running on the thing and start loading drivers and downloading a few games overnight. now this morning it starts boot looping. getting into windows for about 3 mins then restarting and doing this again. after re-seating the ram and checking all power connectors and re-installing windows i get the same re booting problem. take out the 1070 and still getting this 3 minutes of windows then rebooting. fast forward an hour and now im pretty sure it won't even post. there is a set of 4 "debug led's" on my mobo and the cpu light gets lit up as soon as i hit the power button and nothing on my screen. ive been troubleshooting this thing for the past few hours with no success. only seeming to make the situation worse (ie no cpu indicated now) and i don't know what i should do now. did i kill my cpu? should i return both cpu and motherboard? im in over my head

So, I'm planning on getting a new PC, nothing too fancy just something cheap and practical. However, I only have part of my budget right now (I have 250 USD at the moment) and will get the rest later so i was thinking that i buy some parts right now and then buy the rest when i get the rest of my budget. So my question is what parts should i buy right now. Most people are telling me to buy memory and storage right now because prices are likely to rise in the near future but i want more opinions from you all. Also, which brand should i buy from, which model should i get and how much should i get (like if I buy memory how many GB should I get). This is what the build is looking like right now: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JDLthq Thank you for your help

Hello everyone. Im looking to get some opinions for possible upgrades to my desktop gaming rig. I recently sold my MSI GTX 650 TI of which I used for about 2 years, doing moderate gaming. I originally had a 1360x768 and a 1400x900 screen setup, but now have 2 1920x1080 screens, one for gaming, one for chat/time/temps/ect. Now to the meat and potatoes. I have a budget limit currently of about $160, which may shrink or expand. Currently my list of "Possible" upgrades, aside from a *970 SSC which I cant really find cheap anywhere, is: EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB FTW GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card 02G-P4-2958-KR EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB SSC GAMING, Silent Cooling Graphics Card 02G-P4-2957-KR MSI Computer Video Card Graphics Cards GTX 950 GAMING 2G Gigabyte GeForce GTX 950 Graphics Card (GV-N950WF2OC-2GD) EVGA GeForce GTX 960 2GB SSC 02G-P4-2966-KR Gigabyte Ultra Durable 2 GV-N1050OC-2GD GeForce GTX 1050 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 DirectX 12 GV-N1050WF2OC-2GD MSI GTX 1050 GAMING X 2G GeForce GTX 1050 EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING ACX 3.0, 04G-P4-6255-KR MSI GeForce GTX 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC Gigabyte Ultra Durable VGA GV-N1050G1 GAMING-2GD GeForce GTX 1050 GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1050 Ti DirectX 12 GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD *EVGA GTX 970 4GB SSC (04G-P4-3975-KR) *EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+ 04G-P4-3975-KR EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti SSC GAMING (04G-P4-6255-KR) EVGA GeForce GTX 950 2GB SSC GAMING 02G-P4-2957-KR (*=Ebay cards with current bid war) F**k that was a lot of copy paste work... ANYWAY Main reason I want some help is in watching a few benchmarks the 1050 and TI variant are not as good, in most cases, as the older 960/970/980 cards. That and with so many variants, I don't really know what to choose. Granted any of these will be superior to the 650 TI I was running, I want to try and get the best I can for the money.

So I just picked this laptop up and it was all well and good but I noticed something when I went to pivot the laptop to show someone something. When I grabbed around the edge of the screen ( middle of the screen on one side and the opposite corner of the chassis) I noticed a ripple effect on the screen. Is this normal? It is reminiscent of if you pressed on the front of a slightly older lcd screen, but this of course is from the back and caused by a pretty small force from my fingers just holding the screen? I am particularly worried as it is a touch screen and if it is a problem I would not want to accelerate it, nor would I want to need to give up the touchscreen functionality. Is this something worth returning over?

Hey guys, so I've been wanting to upgrade my PC for a very long time, and I've never had the money to do so. However, I'm going to have a chance to very soon ( I'm getting a job ). Here are my current specs: i3 2120 Standard crappy old dell motherboard 16gb of 1333mhz ddr3 ram gt 1030 ( the gddr5 version) evga 500w psu I can run games fairly decently...kinda. Tom Clancy's r6 Seige @ 900p and mixed settings (some low some set to high) I get around 40 to 80 fps GTA 5 all "normal" settings at 900p I get around 28 to like 45 ish fps CSGO at 900p, and highest settings I get around 80 fps in Dust 2 What I would like to upgrade too: Ryzen 2600x Gigabyte B450M DS3H motherboard 8 or 16gb of ddr4 ram (I'm thinking either 3000mhz or 3200mhz) I'll keep my gt 1030 for a lil bit, but was considering to upgrade to either a rx 580 or a gtx 1660 What do you guys think? Any advice is very appreciated, also keep in mind I will a pretty small budget... Here is a link to what my build would be https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ItsHarox/saved/zwWPnQ Thank you.

Hello. Last month I got my brand new Samsung C49RG monitor, and it's awesome. Problem is, it only highlights the issues I have with poor performance. I'm running an old I5-4690K (overclocked to 4.4Ghz), and 16gb 1600Mhz DDR3 ram. When the new Nvidia graphics cards arrived I got myself a RTX2080 because at the time I was seeing 100% GPU load, and I knew I wanted to upgrade my cpu, ram, mb etc. when I got the money and wouldn't be able to run my games at 60fps any longer. So now of course that is no longer my bottleneck. Question is... will it be? I am, of course, looking to upgrade to the new AMD Ryzen CPUs when they arrive next month. I don't think I will be buying any hardware that needs PCIe gen 4, so should I just go with an X470 card? I heard that some motherboards have problems with newer generations of Ryzen because they upped the power draw, so is there anything in particular I should look for in choice of X470 card? I also note that Ryzen, and this new version in particular, apparently benefits from high speed ram. Would 16 gb be enough for normal gaming+watching streams/youtube at the same time, or do I need more, and should I in that case prioritize 32Gb 3000mhz to say 16gb 3733mhz? And most importantly... do I need another graphics card? My monitor is comparable to 5K when I get the chance to play 32:9 ratio games. This weekend I was only reaching 57fps in Insurgency Sandstorm, and while I expected the 100% cpu load I was slightly surprised to see 85% GPU, mainly because I thought the CPU was throttling it more than that. Should I be looking at saving a bit of money on the CPU to set aside for when I get the money for another 2080 and run them in a SLI config, given the amount of pixels that need to be rendered? And if I do need to run SLI, would I then actually benefit from PCI 4.0 since I have an NVME M.2 Samsung 960 EVO? My budget has a stretchy limit if it means significant improvements, but I was looking to keep total costs at less than 800€. Any help is appreciated.

Hi techies, I am building an unraid server, with atleast 4 headless VMS (i.e. need space for 4 16x PCI-E GPU) A "4 workspaces 1 CPU" type of build CPUs: Dual 2697 v2 Motherboard: X9DRD-7LN4F, which has 6 x PCI-E 8x slot. Cases I have: SC825TQ-R740LPB or Deep Silence 6 Options: 1. cutting the back off the slots and putting the cards in, some of the slots go through the heatsink for the south bridge (might even touch the heatsink) 2. I have tried PCI-E Express 8X to 16X Durable Adapter Riser Card Without Extended Cable #HNT but then i need to 3D print or make something to secure the card into the case as the plate is off centre, also with some cards I cover some of the usable outputs 3. Mounting the GPUs outside the cases on a miners bench and use PCI-E extender cables to run them (I cant find a miners bench that will fit the E-ATX board)

Hey everyone, First time builder here on LTT, looking for some advice and input on building the Game On PC from LTT's video Holiday PC Buyer's Guide 2019. Only thing I changed was moving down to 1TB SSD as 2TB would be overkill for me. Any easy upgrades to this that stay within budget? Following the Build Plan Thread Recommendations, here's the context of this build: 1. Budget & Location USA - CA. $1,500 - $2,000 2. Aim Programming - A bunch of VMs and a few instances of Intellij Gaming - Dwarf Fortress, Dota 2, Cyberpunk 2077. Also interested in the possibility of some VR if able to fit within the budget. 3. Monitors 1 - Dell UltraSharp U2715H 27-Inch, already own it, no plans on adding another 4. Peripherals No need for an OS 5. Why are you upgrading? I've been using laptops and consoles for the last 4 years and looking to get back onto a home PC for programming and gaming.
