Not sure it belongs here, it's technically a software question ... So well, got new Jan24 AMD drivers with AFMF frame gen, wanted to try that, but in the 2 games I've tried (CP2077 and Robocop), as soon as I activate AFMF the overlay loses track of frames (it says "N/A" in frames, frametime etc) I don't even know if AFMF works or not ! (I can't really tell if I have 100 or 200FPS in those games, my monitor being 120Hz..) I've viewed YT vids where the guys have it work correctly, what can be the cause of it failing ? rgds

Can I install AMD ROCM with non pro drivers ?
PDifolco posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I'm trying to dabble in AI with Shark on my 7900XTX Seems I should install the ROCM SDK but that come shipped with the Adrenalin Pro drivers, and I use the "retail/gaming" drivers Can I install ROCM with the non Pro drivers or am I forced to use them ?? -
Hey everyone, I'm writing this after spending the last hour and a half trying to troubleshoot this issue, but I clicked the enable clone button in the display tab of AMD Adrenalin software and when I disabled it both my additional monitors went black. I looked all over the internet for fixes, reinstalled the drivers three times and used DDU. I saw other people have encountered this problem so I thought I would share how simple the solution was, apparently when you enable and disable this feature it stops extending the other monitors so its just a matter of turning that back on. This frustrated me, the last resort that I was about to turn to and what other forums were saying was to restore my computer which is such an inconvenience for something so simple. I'm not sure if you can classify this as a bug or if AMD intends for this to happen because they want you to configure your displays within the software but I thought I'd post to save some people time and headaches. Back to playing counter strike, I'm not sure if this is the right format or place to post this I'm just trying to help. Thanks, mattyicee

System specs: Motherboard: ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming 4 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G GPU: MSI RX 580 (Not sure on specifics as I can't find the paperwork on it currently) Previously was a Sapphire HD 7790 SSD: Western Digital WD Blue SN570 250GB (OS Drive) HDD: Pulled out of an HP, not sure on specifics, used as an extra drive for storage, is a 1 TB drive PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GX2 80+ Gold 600W Non Modular RAM: Crucial 2x8GB DDR4 3200 OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit I'm not sure what is actually causing the issue, however it seems to be consistent with the use of google chrome and video playback. It originally started with the HD7790 I had installed initially, the driver was constantly getting corrupted, I believe is what it said. I tried a few different drivers for it and ran furmark with each install and showed no issues other than the GPU itself was getting a little warm, I think knocking on 70c, assumed the card was finally starting to die after jumping from system to system for years being as it consistently was having issues with the drivers freaking out. It was pretty consistent every time after reinstalling drivers it would work for a day or two and crap out again. So I replaced it with the 580 I bought off ebay, reinstalled newer drivers for it and it has worked for a few weeks now, maybe a month, and it just did the same thing. I have another HD7790 that I know is working as well as another system to test these cards in if you think that would be necessary, but I'm starting to wonder if it isn't just an issue with the drivers, especially being as I now can't use the video output from the CPU either. I used the AMD Cleanup Utility between each install of drivers. I have used the legacy drivers that AMD still offers, I have a few drivers from before that I kept for back ups, though they are windows 7 drivers so won't install anyway. I believe the 580 is also on a legacy driver, though it comes with the adrenlin pro instead of the non pro version that came with the 7790. And in case it makes a difference I need the Adrenlin interface so I can adjust the overscan/underscan of the "monitors" that I'm using with this system, they are tvs that have lost the remote to adjust the overscan or did not have that option in the first place. I use this particular PC as a "home entertainment" system as well as light office type work and internet surfing. Basically a catch all for everything non gaming, several people in the house hold use it for streaming tv in the living room, checking email/social media, and as a googling machine. So I am not sure of the exact causes of the issue, but typically I was told it was whenever trying to watch a youtube video, and just now I fired it up to put on Amazon Prime Video and it freaked out while trying to load the page. It is currently working fine, no stutter in playback or anything, however I have lost access to the adrenlin pro interface (which is consistent with the hd7790), but the overscan setting is saved which it wasn't doing with the 7790. I have yet to try to reinstall the drivers again for the 580, being as it is currently being used, nor do I off hand know of which bios version it is running, though if memory serves it is running a newer bios version, not the newest but a newer one. I'm sure I'm forgetting some pertinent information, so if you are needing any more information from me please ask. I am computer literate, though I'm not a programmer by any means, I'm capable of simpler trouble shooting solutions and can figure out some slightly complex solutions. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Edit: Added a picture of the pop up, guess its not corrupted, just timing out. Though the hd7790 actually said something about the drivers being corrupted or something to that effect.

First of foremost that is the first time ever that i am actually writing a post. Really went through anything i found and nothing really helped. I upgraded my GPU from a 2070 to a 6700 XT. Everything works fine but i just realised that i obviously cannot use the Nvidia Broadcast Noise Suppression anymore. So i was searching for an AMD equivalent and found AMD Adrenalin. Long story short, i found the Noise Supression Header, enabled it, put my Mic (Input) and my Output. Now i need to switch everywhere from my Mic to the "AMD Streaming Audio Device" for me to have the noise suppression audio. (Discord, OBS etc.) Thats where the problem appeared. It doesnt detect any audio, as if there is no microphone. If i switch it back to my "Analouge 1 2 (Focusrite USB Audio) it works just fine but without the noise suppression on it obviously. With Nvidia Broadcast i had to do pretty much the same, where i eventually put the "Nvidia Broadcast Audio Device" in my "Input" and everything would just work perfectly fine. If someone has an idea, i would highly appreciate it. Besides a little stupid question. Is there maybe a way to use Nvidia Broadcast with an AMD Graphicscard? (Hence the perfectly working Noise Suppression) Thanks in Advance, Best wishes!

Hey guys So basically I'm trying to figure out how to silent install Radeon Software 2020 (https://www.amd.com/en/support) silent, I have already followed this tutorial by AMD (https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/radeon-software-command-line-installation-user-guide.pdf), but I cant to get it to work it just opens the "choose software" windows (see picture below (I know its old but it shows the principle)). What I need is the installer to grab the recommended software and install it silent, doesn't matter if the pc reboots or not I just need to get past this software selection section. I need this for installing software at the OEM I'm working at, so we thank in advance.

Hi All, I am experiencing some weird things from my GPU lately. Firstly, the audio seems degraded, like there is additional sound artifacts like beeps when playing back any form of audio. Secondly, if I am playing back YouTube videos for example, the video appears to be stretched out, like a 1 second duration of the video is stretched out across 2 seconds in the real world. I have tried to DDU to reinstall drivers for it but it does not seem to work, The only thing that seems to alleviate the problem is that I ramp up the fans to at least 80% fan speed but the success rate may not be 100%. But the temperature reported from Radeon Software is like 30 - 40 deg C when I first boot up. Any advice on the matter?

Hi all, Not sure if anyone has a similar issue to me but my whole entire AMD StoreMI folder has been deleted after installing AMD Adrenalin 21.4.1 with Factory Reset. I cannot install another copy of StoreMI as it says that it is unable to support my SATA Source HDD and SATA Cache SSD. Previously I have connected my SATA SSD to the my SATA HDD and it is seen as a SCSI drive in Device Manager. So now I do not know what is the current state of my drives and whether I can uninstall it. Anyone know how to recover from this, short of reinstalling windows?

Hello, This is my first post here, but I wanted to share what I found to finally solve the AMD TDR (timeout) problem I have been having on my AMD GPU card for the past year (I am sure many others still have this annoying issue). I have tried everything in order to solve the random timeouts from various Reddit posts and other forums including https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-800 (changed the PSU for a beefier one, cleaned the GPU correctly, DDU, disabled driver auto updates from Windows, fresh Windows install, SFC and DISM scans, BIOS update/default settings, revert to older drivers and so on). After trying everything, I decided to check how TDR works on Windows to better understand it and to my surprise I found this link https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/spdoc/gpu-drivers-crash-with-long-computations-tdr-crash-128745489.html . As I went through the registry, I realized that on my system there were no TDR timer/delay keys (on other systems you might have the keys but on a low delay timer). Basically, during any long(er) computation (or pause/delay), Windows kills the AMD driver and forces it to restart due to no delay being present in the registry (for other users the delay might be too low). After CAREFULLY following the instructions in the article present in the second link, all my TDR timeouts disappeared. For 2 weeks now, I have not gotten a single TDR timeout. If you still have issues with timeouts on your AMD card, I strongly suggest following the instructions in the Adobe link. It is worth pointing out that increasing TDR delay can also solve issues such as black screen, system freezes and/or those really nasty crashes that removes the driver from your system (and possibly other issues too). It seems to point at the same culprit (I also had these issues sometimes prior to the solution). Additional information: I am running the most recent AMD drivers and Windows 10 build at the time of this post (4th of September 2022). This could also possibly point out that the AMD driver installer provided by AMD does not or no longer creates/edits these (required) keys, therefore creating this issue (not sure here, just a speculation). Cheers! Below is the link to the original post made on Reddit. I hope this will help AMD GPU users with this lingering issue as it helped me, it feels like my AMD card revived haha. https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/x5hils/a_possible_solution_for_amd_tdr_timeout/

I built a pc roughly a month ago with a 5900x and a 6600 XT (plan is to upgrade gpu shortly; I know it's unbalanced). I got everything set up nicely with no issues and it worked great until a few days later when I booted my pc to find that AMD Adrenalin wasn't working because apparently Windows had overwritten my up to date drivers with old ones that completely broke Adrenalin. I redownloaded the drivers only to have them disappear again a week later (Windows Update was "helping" me out by regularly messing up my drivers). At this point I disabled automatic driver updates (is there a better way to deal with this?). Fast forward about three weeks and I was updating iCUE to a new version. Halfway through the install, my PC completely froze up. I powercycled, and when my pc booted back up it had display drivers from mid-2021. Apparently iCUE also broke my display drivers. I redownloaded Adrenalin/my drivers from the AMD website, gnashing my teeth because it was late and I wanted to sleep, then left the pc overnight once things were settled and I'd done my restart/checked that Adrenalin was working again. The next day my drivers were inexplicably reverted again and this time I had no idea why, so I literally just went into the previous day's driver download folder and clicked the executable to have it install again. After that install things have been working fine since, but it's only been a few days and I'm just waiting to sit down at my computer some random day and have to once again reinstall Adrenalin, which is the worst part of all of this--if your drivers get rolled back, Adrenalin just nopes out and makes you go to AMD.com to get the correct drivers and reinstall the entire program. Have any other AMD users dealt with this issue? Is there a way to make AMD drivers more stable and/or allow automatic driver updates while keeping current AMD drivers from being overwritten by old ones and/or be able to actually open Adrenalin to update your drivers and/or stop having to tear your hair out over something that ought to just work properly?

So I was an early adapter to the 5700 XT, and I have an MSI reference card with the blower cooler. This being my first actual PC build, I was ecstatic about putting it all together. I researched for a long time, finding price to performance and the benchmarks of the card, excited about the capabilities of it. And it is an impressive card. When it works, it's brilliant. H O W E V E R... Since launch, this card has given me multiple issues, and the teething problems with Navi still not being sorted is starting to get to not only me, but many others in the community. I've had so many black screen issues, display flickers, and other assorted problems; many, in recent months. I'm at a point where I regret purchasing the 5700 XT purely for how AMD has coped with the driver updates for the Navi platform. I know I'm not alone in the majority of these issues either, there are so many other forums and discussions about the same thing. Yet there only seems to be more and more issues arising with each update. I wish I had the funds to purchase an equivalent Nvidia GPU at this point. I've personally not had issues with their drivers before, and decided to go out in a whim for AMD, to attempt to get better performance at the £400 price point I had to work with. For now however, I'm stuck with such a clunky bit of hardware with terrible driver support. It's such a shame, honestly.

AMD Radeons "HDMI Scaling" locks the refreshrate to 30hz (Vega64)
Guest posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Im currently using an old TV as a monitor. The TV has some serious overscan and there is no option to fix that on the tv site. So i had to tackle this problem with amds adrenalin software (latest version). I have to use the HDMI Scaling option (Settings > Display > HDMI Scaling). But for some odd reason this lowers the Desktop refresh rate to 30hz (instead of the native 59hz). Is there another way to fix the overscan issue? Thanks in advance -
CPU: i5 4460 GPU: MSI Armor RX 570 4GB OC RAM: 16 GB dual channel Storage: 160 GB SSD + 2 TB HDD combo PSU: BeQuiet! Systen Power U9 500W Windows 10 Pro 1903 Driver Radeon Adrenalin version 19.9.2 Monitor: AOC 24V2H 1080p 75Hz (Freesync compatible) I/O: HDMI (monitor has no Display Port) I've played a buch of tittles and eventhough Freesync is activated in every setting I could find, I think is not working. As far as I understand: Freesync makes the monitor and the GPU work at the same phase. Example: Monitor works at 75Hz, GPU sends 75FPS if possible. However, it doesn't seem to be the case with my system. In Gears of War 5, I can clearly see some screen tearing in the cinematics, only cinematics, and the FPS counter says I'm above 75 FPS. Is there something I'm missing here? There's no setting on the monitor itself to turn freesync off/on

I have recently bought an RX 570 (Sapphire Nitro+, 8gb) and when I download the latest driver from AMD (1.18.xx), it shows up as an RX 580 card both in the driver and task manager. However, If I go back to the driver the manufacturer tells me to install (1.17.xx), the computer will not boot from sleep and instead will restart. My question is, which driver do I use? Should I stay with the up to date one and just ignore whenever Windows 10 tells me that it is an RX 580?

I was wondering if anyone here with an AMD GPU stumbled upon this setting and knows what it does: In my system, what it does is turning my screen black, forever. Only a safe-mode boot (conveniently made inconvenient by Windows 10... ), driver cleanup and reinstall gives me any image back on the display. Notice that this is different from the 10bpc setting in the "Display" section, which is currently enabled: I don't understand why there is a separate 10-bit setting in the "Graphics" section, or why enabling it crashed the driver so badly and persistently, while any color depth setting works just fine. (also, HBCC auto-disables itself after enabling it, but not worth a thread as HBCC seems pretty useless anyway).

So I've recently noticed a strange bug. It definitely doesn't seem like intended behavior. Whenever I load a youtube video, or any sort of video file format, or video content (not games), there's a 1 second delay, and then it looks like the brightness of the video has been increased. Almost like a white film or filter. This doesn't happen when I only have one monitor enabled in windows. I've tried disabling freesync, disabling custom color modes, Any other monitor specific color modes. I've tried resetting my drivers to default settings, and it keeps happening. I can't find anything in windows settings about auto-video quality settings or anything like that, so I'm honestly quite confused. If anyone else has a similar issue or knows what it might be, I'd greatly appreciate some help. Usually I can dig into this kind of thing but it seems so odd.

Hi everyone, I recently got my second XFX Vega 64 card and I have this weird issue when enabling Crossfire mode. Everytime I enable Crossfire mode on AMD Radeon Settings it would be ok for a while, but after that my computer will get a massive lag spike. (Mouse cursor skipping, cant open programs etc.) The only reason to solve this problem is to hard reset my computer. After resetting I checked my Radeon settings to see Crossfire mode is still not enabled. I would have to do this 2-3 times (Massive lag spike, hard reset) before I can enable Crossfire mode. One thing i noticed when I get the massive lag spike is my 2nd Vega 64 card's GPU Tachometer turns into a single green LED and the RADEON logo turns off. Anyone with a crossfire setup have any idea whats wrong?

Seeing some impressive new features in the latest AMD driver update, I decided to install onto my MSI 390X system. A feature I use often and is rather handy is ReLive, however when I try to enable it after I installed the update (and restarted) on the little toggle switch under 'ReLive' on the AMD settings, it instantly switches off after I turn it on. I've reinstalled the update, tried to get the new dashboard to appear with Alt+R to no avail and Ctrl+Shift+R does not work either. I'm out of ideas and hoping I'm just being a bit stupid, does anybody have any ideas as to why this wouldn't work, seeing as the features did work in the older version.
