Hi. We might buy my Dad a laptop if we can afford it. - He specifically wants 4k video editing. - I'm not sure if he'll use special effects. - He's an artist (painting, photography, poetry, video). -Videos and photos are from his camera. - afaik, he'll use it at home, maybe in the backyard, maybe at my brother's house. - Bringing it to my aunt's house in Mexico for vacation is a possibility. No idea if he'll do this tho. - I think he uses Adobe premiere elements 10 but maybe only because it came with his old laptop Budget: $1000 Cad. Maybe $1500 Cad? ($742 to $1,113 usd) Canada. So: - is an rtx 3050 (laptop version) good enough? Or would that be disappointing to edit 4k with? - what about a gtx 1650? Lol - minimum VRAM? - does it matter whether the GPU is AMD or Nvidia? - is an SSD fine to start with? - he has a 3TB usb 3 external drive (HDD I think). Is that good for storage? - is super fast nvme drive important? (might upgrade to that later) - Does nvme speed / pcie bandwidth thingy matter? - is anything 12th or 13th gen Intel CPU good enough? 11th gen? Which AMD CPUs are good enough? Keep in mind this is for a laptop. - for a very budget situation, is 8GB regular ram enough to start with? 16GB? Again, budget is only $1k - $1.5k Canadian. - how important is ram speed? - also is Apple good for the price? I think my dad's used to Windows tho. Let me know. Thanks.

I'm super confused with 3100 & 2600, some say 3100 is better for video editing in adobe premiere & others suggest 2600 is way better for having more cores & threads, anyway all i care about is to add more filter, effects and overall a good editing experience rather than faster rendering time

I ran into a weird problem when previewing timeline footage. 95% of the timeline previews just fine but near the end the video decode on the card skyrocktes to 97-99% and Freezes the system until the timeline finishes. What would be causing it? I am using the mercury Cuda settings for render. Ryzen 9 3950X RTX 2080 64gb 3200Mhz 500gb NVME Boot drive 1TB NVME working drive Thank You

jxr How can I convert a JXR image into EXR?
Sawtaytoes posted a topic in Photography and Videography
Is there a way to convert a Microsoft JPEG-XR file (JXR) into an OpenEXR file or any other HDR-capable container? I'm trying to import the JXR into Premiere, but it's not supposed by Photoshop, Premiere, nor others. It only seems to work fine in the Windows Photo viewer and HDR + WCG Image Viewer. I'd love to be able to convert these images into another HDR format that is more universal as JXR appears to only be supported on Windows. -
this issue is driving me crazy, I contacted NVIDIA and adobe with no luck! Nvidia told me to downgrade my driver version to other versions and adobe told me to downgrade adobe premiere to older versions too but with no luck, my pc randomly freezes when editing on adobe premiere and then my two monitors turns black and after a minute the whole pc restarts! it's happening 2-3 times daily when using premiere like randomly! I looked for minidump files and found many, attached is the latest one happened, I tried looking up online to open it and found bugcheck analysis : VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (116) Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed. but I didn't understand actually what is that error! can someone help please with my issue? is my RTX 3090 faulty and needs to be changed? is this a RAM issue? or power supply? what should I do? my computer specs: Threadripper 3970X Corsair Vengeance 256 GB RAM Asus Rog Zenith Extreme Alpha II MSI Gaming Trio RTX 3090 Corsair HX 1200W LIAN LI CASE 2x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro Raid 0 082122-15062-01.dmp

Good Evening Everyone! I hope you are doing well! These past couple of weeks have been so frustrating trying to render a 4K video using CUDA in Adobe Premiere Pro 2022. Whenever I render a video, both of my monitors instantly turn off and go to sleep (in the meantime I can hear the windows ejection sound when this happens). Occasionally when the monitors turn back on, the resolution has been changed automatically to 480P and gets vertical/horizontal lines (even the display changes to a warm color). Both monitors are not faulty. GPU handles gaming. All Drivers have been updated. removed Adobe Premiere Pro and reinstalled it. None of these option works. I'm starting to believe that I don't have enough wattage from my PCU? Here are the specs for my build below. Anything with be much appreciated. Hi, I have an old Mini DV Camcorder of mine, with many many videos of friends and family. I want to "digitalize" them and store them as mp4`s on my computer. So i bought a Firewire PCI-E card and tried capturing the videos through Firewire. However Windows Device Manager and Premiere Pro will not recognize my Camcorder. In Premiere it just says "Capture Device Offline". Even regardless of the DV or HDV setting. I know there are a lot of problems and solutions out there regarding Firwire and capturing video thorugh it. But nothing worked for me so far. I updated the Standard Driver to the 2013 Legancy one. I tried different Firwire Cables (800 to 800 and 800 to 400) and I tried restarting my PC and reslotting my PCI-E card several times. But so far nothing worked for me. There isnt even a "ding" sound when plugging the cable into my PC I made sure the Camcorder is in VTR mode and the Tape is playing back inside the Camcorder just fine. I have no idea what could be causing this and my only guess right now would be that the Firewire Port on my Camcorder is dead (Which is very unlikely given that the Camcorder is in great shape and the port was protected by a flap) So if there is anything i could have missed, or if you guys know any solution, i would really appreciate it The Tapes really mean a lot to me. Greetings, David Sorry for my bad grammar and so forth, just trying

Hello those from the LTT forums. I am new to the forums but am a long time YouTube subscriber and follower of the media group. I was wondering if anyone here had any advice for setting up a remote rendering box. I would prefer it to run Linux (Debian specifically). I currently have a simple set of scripts for watching an input directory, moving input files to a temp directory, rendering them, and then exporting the rendered clips to my NAS. So far I have only been successful with using Blender as it has quick and easy support for command line use with Linux. My goal here is to be able to render Adobe Premiere projects and have them export to my NAS similar to the description above. As there does not seem to be a Linux version of premiere I could really use some help from you guys! Thank you in advance!

How much does RAM speed matter in video editing? I primarily use Premiere Pro, sometimes Avid. Footage ranges from anywhere between 1080p from a Canon DSLR (T3i, T4i, etc.) to 4.6K footage or higher from a RED, or Black Magic, or ARRI, etc (I guess that's most of the spectrum..).

I am trying to decide which graphics card is better for 4k video editing in Adobe Premiere and some After Effects. More specifically I will be making music videos with multiple effects including chroma keying. I am in the process of getting all the parts together to build a computer purely for video editing is it worth getting the 980ti (ASUS ROG MATRIX) or a 1070 (not sure which model) as both are around the same price on ebay in the UK . Alternatively would it be worth it just to get a 1060 or RX480 for less? My goal is to edit 4k in full quality in real time using one 1080p monitor and one 2160p monitor for the preview video. I know the 980ti has more cuda cores and possibly a higher IPC? The parts I have so far are: Ryzen 1700 (I plan on overclocking it with the cooler it came with) ASUS Prime B350M-A AMD ATX Motherboard Adata XPG 32gb 2 x 16 DDR4 ram 2800Mhz PC4-22400 memory I have yet to get the rest of the components, I will get a power supply depending on the graphics card and I plan on getting a silent case and SSDs. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I don't play video games and I am using it purely for video editing.

I am planning upgrades to my system and a new system all together. I am also very curious as to how much render speed will be gained from having adobe premiere/media encoder run on a Samsung 960 evo vs the corsair force gs that i currently have as my os drive in my system.

Ello again! So a little while ago i build my brother a itx office pc as a surprise. he's been using it happily ever since, eventhough it really is not powerfull. it sports a celeron 1820 and a H81mobo, 120GB SSD and 8GB dominator platinums i had laying around (lol) Anyway, recently he got into editing vodeos, and as you can imagine the current system is just not cutting it. his budget is pretty much non existend, so we have to choose: get a better CPU, or a dedicated GPU. Now my question; what would be better for him? he edits in adobe premiere pro mostly. would a good Nvidea GPU help him because of CUDA? Any help is appreciated! P.S. if this is in the wrong subforum, i apologize.

I recently got Adobe Premier Elements and the program doesn't open. I get a white box when I try to open it. Specs: R7 250, A6-5400k, 8gd3 HyperX Savage RAM. I just reinstalled Windows 10 so I know it's not that. Steps I have taken: reinstall, installed QuickTime, downloaded vcregist_x64 2013. WMP is working as well. Anything would be appreciated.

Hello all, thanks for stopping by. I am going to give a TL:DR now because I'll go more in depth then some may like so here is the basic issue and then for better details continue reading. TL:DR = I can't get my videos to work properly from 21:9 to 16:9 on YouTube anymore. I export in h2.64 with Premiere and could previously fullscreen in both aspect ratios in the YouTube player. No longer can I do that it seems. I can't figure out how to get just 16:9 to work either now coming from 21:9. Any tips? (the video is 1920x1080 after Premiere and looks fine on my phone, it's after YouTube that is breaks) I record gameplay of video games at 2560x1080 using shadowplay, as I think it has the best quality, best file size, ease of use, and least system demanding. I have had no problems editing with Adobe Premiere and uploading in 21:9. I didn't want to neglect the majority of viewers, so I used Premiere to convert to 1920x1080. It worked great up until a week or so ago when all of my videos converted to the 21:9 aspect ratio after I uploaded another video. I import in 2560x1080, 29fps, recommended bit rate ect. I export with a custom preset, using h2.64, but to get it to fullscreen properly with no letterboxing (black bars top and bottom) I use HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.333) Aspect setting. When exported, I can still fullscreen on my ultrawide, and when viewing on my phone (transfer over) or other 16:9 display it fullscreens too. However, when I upload it to YouTube, it no longer fills the 16:9 aspect ratio while simultaneously filling my ratio too, like it had in the past. I'd rather they be pure 16:9 then both if it means it will never be 16:9, it was a miracle it fullscreened properly for both ratios honestly when uploaded. That was as short as I could get it with being thorough and explaining the situation. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this, or to export properly? I prefer to have 1080p but will settle for 720p, but after over a dozen export trials on an Outlast 2 demo video I did, I can't for the life of me get it to be only 16:9, or resolve my issue to before. Here is a link to the Outlast 2 Demo video because I mentioned it above so you can understand what I mean. If you have a 21:9 display, it should fullscreen fine. But 16:9 users will have letterboxing. You can tell there is an issue immediately because without fullscreening, the YouTube player isn't using the all the space before you expand the window. There is letterboxing there too. It seemed to be when I uploaded a video that they all converted, even though it was the same format as previous ones. Note that this is in fact a 1920x1080 video, as confirmed when I look at the video properties, not 2560x1080 like the first part to the Amnesia AMFP I did. I appreciate any and all advice or thoughts on the topic, I wish YouTube hadn't thrown me this curve ball as even though my viewership is literally just my friends, I enjoy making videos more than I have been working on my major and seem to have a built in passion for film/photography that I'd like to pursue. I have contacted YouTube support at least twice, and the first time they said they had some people working on it but no ETA for a fix. I don't know if I can still believe that or not but would rather get an opinion from someone who's probably dealt with it more and has much more experience in what I'm trying to accomplish. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Greetings, everyone! Today I was going to buy the following computer for 650€ - CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.20GHz Quad-Core Processor - Motherboard: B150M LGA1151 - RAM: 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz - HDD: 1Tb 7200rpm SATA 3 - GPU: GTX 750Ti 2GB GDDR5 - Case: Nox Hummer MC Zero Edition - Power Supply: Tacens Mars Gaming MP600 600W However, a friend stopped me from doing it because he said he could build a better one for a cheaper price and this came out for 625€ - CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor - Motherboard: MSI H110M ECO Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard - Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory - HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB ARMOR OCV1 Video Card - Case: NOX Hummer MC Zero Edition ATX Mid Tower Case - Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Now, my budget is at 650€ at the moment. I want to use the computer for gaming recording and video editing at 1080p. I'm not sure if I'll be playing demanding games like Witcher 3 or Battlefield 1, though I am a bit curious about these. I'll be recording some PS1 games as well as a bunch of different PC games. I'm a bit iffy about getting the i3 as the i5 would do much better regarding rendering times, however if I were to get an i5 with the 1060, I'd need to spend 710€ instead of 625€ which is a bit difficult for me. I'm planning on rendering two videos per day and will be using Adobe Premiere. My question is: How long would an i3-6100 take to render 15 minutes 1080p videos in comparision with a i5-6500? Also, is there a huge difference from 8GB to 16GB for rendering these same videos? Thank you in advance, - Nervly

Hey guys an interesting question for those who now much more of the ins and outs of Adobe Premiere (and possibly Magix Vegas Pro). For a for about a year I've been using Vegas 14 as my main editing program, but I've recently decided to try out Premiere Pro to see if I can get a reduction in render times. In both cases I used the same one minute 1080p clip @ 30FPS; Both were to render and MP4 using the H.264 Codec, target 10Mbps, with audio sample rate at 48khz and bitrate at 128Khz. Both took advantage of GPU Acceleration. When I timed both, Vegas took a predictable 55 seconds, but on the other hand Premiere took 38 seconds. Could it be that Premiere takes more advantage of my hardware or is it something else on the software side?

Just for intro I have early experience PC building as I built my own PC and my brother's just this year. I have been into PC gaming etc. for a quite a few years. I have a bit of experience video editing myself, but its mainly for hobby. I use Sony Vegas 14 (thanks Humble Bundle) , so I don't have knowledge of how it changes in Adobe Premiere. Looking for final opinions on this build I am making for a friend who is doing video editing for weddings. They currently work in 1080p and plan to move into editing 4K footage. There old system tends to crash often and render times take hours. Now they have got better optimizing the render times, but it can still crash. PC Gaming is also the secondary use of the system. CURRENT SITUATION The Old PC i7-4770K @ 3.5GHz GTX 770 (didn't look up model for VRAM) 16GB DDR3 RAM Kingston 120GB SSDNow V300 Seagate 1TB HDD 7200RPM External Seagate USB3.0 Drive (4TB?) Windows 10 Now typically there are 2 projects at a time with 100-200GB file size per project (now this will change substantially in 4K, so I will have to increase storage size). I assume they edit off of the HDD b/c I was told the SSD was only for programs. NEW SYSTEM - 4K This system will change the workflow a ton. I imagine that they could fly through edits if optimized well. Looking at Puget Systems tutorial "Optimizing Storage for Adobe Pro" I planned on a 3 SSD solution. (1 SSD for OS/Programs) (1 NVME for Project Files) (1 SSD for Scratch Files) Now is it possible that the 3 SSD setup is overkill?Maybe, perhaps other ppls experience can pitch in. One of Pugets prebuilt 4K systems shows 64GB, but in my build I used 32GB (maybe that's bad I don't know) No overclocking for the system. I have no experience here either, but this system is more reliable without it. Air cooling is for low maintenance. I have no experience in water cooling and would not want to run that risk for the end user. I researched AIO water cooling, but it is not worth taking a chance.
